SE INTRODUCE UN AGENTE DE TRATAMIENTO NITROGENOSO EN LA PRIMERA ZONA DE TRATAMIENTO PARA LA REDUCCION NO CATALITICA SELECTIVA DE PARTE DEL NOX Y A CONTINUACION SE HACE PASAR A LOS GASES DE LA COMBUSTION A TRAVES DE LA SEGUNDA ZONA DE TRATAMIENTO QUE INCLUYE UN CATALIZADOR PARA UNA REDUCCION CATALITICA SELECTIVA ADICIONAL DEL NOX. OPCIONALMENTE, SE PUEDE AÑADIR UN SEGUNDO AGENTE DE TRATAMIENTO NITROGENOSO A LOS GASES DE LA COMBUSTION QUE SE ENCUENTRAN EN LA SEGUNDA ZONA DE TRATAMIENTO.
