SE DESCRIBE LA SINTESIS DE NUEVOS GLICOSAMINOGLICANOS SEMISINTETICOS CON UNA ESTRUCTURA DE HEPARINA O HEPARANO DE ACIDO DE -L-IDURONIC-2-O-SULFATO MODIFICADA EN LA POSICION 2, EN QUE EL GRUPO SULFATO SE HA SUSTITUIDO, TOTALMENTE O EN PARTE, POR UN RADICAL NUCLEOFILICO. ESTOS NUEVOS GLICOSAMINOGLICANOS SEMISINTETICOS DE LA FORMULA GENERAL (IV) PRESENTAN BUENAS PROPIEDADES FARMACEUTICAS EN CUANTO A QUE SE PUEDEN ABSORBER ORALMENTE Y TIENEN UNA BUENA ACTIVIDAD ANTITROMBOTICA ACOMPAÑADA DE UN BAJO RIESGO A QUE SE PRODUZCAN HEMORRAGIAS Y UNA ACTIVIDAD ANTICOAGULANTE REDUCIDA.
