Abstract
PARA LA PRODUCCION DE DIOXIDO DE TITANIO POR EL PROCESO DEL SULFATO SE USAN COMO MATERIALES DE PARTIDA ESCORIA DE TITANIO E ILMENITA OBTENIDOS DE FORMA PARALELA PERO SEPARADAMENTE, ESTO ES, SE DESCOMPONEN CON ACIDO SULFURICO AL 98,0% Y AL 85%, ESTANDO LAS TEMPERATURAS DE PARTIDA ALGO POR DEBAJO DE LA TEMPERATURA DE INICIACION, INICIANDOSE LAS REACCIONES DE DESCOMPOSICION MEDIANTE LA INYECCION DE UNA CANTIDAD MINIMA DE VAPOR CALIENTE. TRAS LA DESCOMPOSICION SE MEZCLAN AMBAS LEJIAS MADRE Y SE ELABORAN CONJUNTAMENTE HASTA SER TIO2, CONCENTRANDOSE HASTA UN 85% Y RECICLANDOSE EL ACIDO SULFURICO DILUIDO SL 23% QUE SALE DE LA REACCION SEPARANDO LAS SALES METALICAS. CON ESTO SE USA PARA LA OBTENCION DE ESCORIA DE TITANIO PREFERENTEMENTE ACIDO SULFURICO ALTAMENTE CONCENTRADO U OBTENIDO MEDIANTE CALCINACION DE LOS SULFATOS METALICOS RESULTANTES DEL PROCESO, MIENTRAS QUE EL EXCESO DE ACIDO SULFURICO CONCENTRADO AL 85% SIRVE PARA LA OBTENCION DE ILMENITA, DE FORMA QUE SE REUTILIZA ECONOMICAMENTE LA PRACTICA TOTALIDAD DEL ACIDO SULFURICO DILUIDO.
