Abstract

An odometer device 1 composing two mumeral drums 2, 3, respectively a total distance indicator numeral drum 2 and a trip indicator numeral drum 3, driven by a D.C. electric motor 28 with electronic speed control. An electronic circuit receives signals from a pulse generator mounted on the vehicle drive take-off and compares them with signals produced by a magneto-electric sensor 34 and representative of the actual motor speed, thereby to control the motor speed. An electromagnet 37 is provided for zeroing the trip indicator numeral drum.
