Definitions
- the invention relates to a dishwasher, in particular in the design as a household dishwasher, with a washing container which provides a washing compartment and is used to hold items to be cleaned, the washing container having a loading opening for loading items to be cleaned, which can be closed in a fluid-tight manner by means of a pivotably mounted washing compartment door, and with a dosing unit provided by the washing compartment door for storing a pourable cleaning agent for a plurality of cleaning cycles, the dosing unit for a portion-wise introduction of cleaning agent into the washing compartment having a pipe which provides a discharge channel which opens into a discharge opening on the washing compartment side.
- Dishwashers of the type mentioned at the beginning are well known from the prior art, which is why separate printed evidence is not required at this point. It is therefore only an example of this DE 10 2015 120 412 A1 referred to, which concerns a generic dishwasher.
- Dishwashers of the generic type have a washing compartment that provides a washing compartment. This is accessible on the user side via a loading opening, which can be closed in a fluid-tight manner by means of a pivotably mounted washing compartment door.
- the washing container serves to hold items to be cleaned, which can be, for example, dishes, cutlery and/or the like.
- process chemicals are generally used, which are supplied to the rinsing chamber during a rinsing and/or drying process.
- process chemicals are, in particular, cleaning chemicals that are supplied to the washing compartment in a program-controlled manner.
- the according to the DE 10 2015 120 412 A1 previously known dosing unit has a dosing device.
- This dosing device is equipped with a replaceable storage container, which is used to store cleaning agents in an amount that is sufficient for a number of individual cleaning programs.
- the amount of cleaning agent intended for the intended implementation of a cleaning program is removed from the storage container under program control and fed to the washing compartment of the dishwasher.
- the dosing unit has a pipe that provides a discharge channel that opens into a discharge opening on the washing compartment side. When dosing, cleaning agent is introduced into the washing compartment in portions via the discharge opening.
- the invention proposes a dishwasher of the type mentioned at the outset, which is characterized in that the discharge channel is divided into two shafts that are separated from each other in terms of flow technology, one of the two shafts being equipped with an IR light barrier provides light beam traversing the channel provided by the shaft.
- the spray device of the dishwasher has a spray nozzle that interacts with the discharge opening. In normal operating conditions, this results in flushing liquid being released from the spray device in a targeted manner in the direction of the discharge opening, with the result that the discharge opening and the discharge channel opening into the discharge opening are cleaned. As a result of this cleaning effect, unwanted detergent adhesion is avoided and any cleaning agent residue left over from a previous washing program step is removed. As a result, the discharge opening and the discharge channel opening into the discharge opening are kept free of cleaning agent residues, in particular incrustations and/or adhesions.
- the sensor is an IR light barrier, which is preferably arranged near the discharge opening. “Near” means that the spray jet emitted during operation by the spray nozzle interacting with the discharge opening also ensures cleaning of the sensor. This ensures that not only the discharge opening and the discharge channel opening into the discharge opening, but also the sensor provided for detecting the release of cleaning agent are subject to repeated cleaning, which advantageously increases operational safety.
- the discharge channel or the discharge opening must not be too wide in the direction of the light beam provided by the IR light barrier. This is not because angular deviations in the light beam caused by manufacturing tolerances can result in the light beam emitted by the transmitter of the IR light barrier not reaching the receiver of the IR light barrier. As a result, reliable detection of cleaning agents released into the washing compartment is no longer possible.
- the dishwasher which can in particular be a household dishwasher, comprises a washing container which provides a washing compartment and is used to hold items to be cleaned, wherein the washing container has a loading opening for loading items to be cleaned, which can be closed in a fluid-tight manner by means of a pivotably mounted washing compartment door.
- It also includes a dosing unit provided by the washing compartment door for storing a pourable, ie for example a powdery or granular, cleaning agent for a plurality of cleaning cycles, the dosing unit having a pipe for introducing cleaning agent into the washing compartment in portions, which provides a discharge channel, which opens into a discharge opening on the washing compartment side.
- a pourable ie for example a powdery or granular, cleaning agent for a plurality of cleaning cycles
- the dosing unit having a pipe for introducing cleaning agent into the washing compartment in portions, which provides a discharge channel, which opens into a discharge opening on the washing compartment side.
- the discharge channel is divided into two shafts that are separated from each other in terms of flow technology on the discharge opening side.
- Each shaft opens into the washing chamber, so that the two shaft openings together form the discharge opening.
- One of the two shafts is equipped with an IR light barrier, which provides a light beam that passes through the channel provided by the shaft. However, the channel provided by the other shaft is not traversed by the light beam. According to the invention, only one of the two shafts is monitored by sensors for cleaning agent detection. This has the advantage of being able to adjust the shaft equipped with the IR light barrier in terms of its geometric dimensions in an optimized manner for the intended use of the IR light barrier.
- the other shaft can basically be of any size, which enables optimization with regard to the cleaning of the discharge channel or the discharge opening by a spray jet emitted by the spray device of the dishwasher. The result of this configuration is the synergetic effect that both reliable cleaning agent sensing and desired cleaning are possible.
- the sensor which is designed as an IR light barrier, should only be used to record qualitatively in such a way that, when dosing, it is checked whether cleaning agent has actually reached the washing compartment via the discharge opening. In this respect, it does not matter for the sensory detection whether over Only part of the cleaning agent is discharged into the washing compartment through the shaft equipped with the IR light barrier.
- the spray jet emitted by the spray device only reaches one of the two shafts. This is because the spray jet reaches the discharge channel, so that the washing liquid flowing back into the washing chamber flows out via both shafts. For proper cleaning, it is therefore not important whether the spray jet enters the discharge channel via both shafts or only one of the two shafts. Because at least the rinsing liquid flowing from the discharge channel back into the washing chamber is discharged via both shafts on the discharge channel side, which ensures cleaning of both the entire discharge opening and the sensors housed in one shaft.
- the overall advantage is that the discharge opening can be made as large as desired without losing signal quality with regard to the IR light barrier. This ensures a maximum entry of rinsing liquid into the discharge channel or the discharge opening.
- a smaller design of the trickle sensor, i.e. the IR light barrier can be selected, which also leads to an economic advantage in terms of production.
- a partition wall extending into the discharge opening is provided to divide the discharge channel into two shafts.
- the geometric dimensions of the partition depend on the installation space required for the IR light barrier.
- the division of the discharge channel according to the invention into a first shaft and a second shaft makes it possible to choose the size of the shaft housing the IR light barrier in such a way that optimized operation of the IR light barrier is possible, particularly from the perspective of: Minimization of susceptibility to failure is achieved.
- the partition wall must be designed accordingly, especially in the longitudinal direction of the discharge channel.
- the two shafts each have a channel opening into a respective opening on the washing compartment side, the two channel openings together forming the discharge opening.
- the advantage of the embodiment according to the invention in this context is that the size of the channel opening of the shaft housing the IR light barrier can be specified in accordance with an optimized use of the IR light barrier and that the channel opening of the second shaft can be freely selected without influencing the operation of the IR light barrier can be, so that overall there is a size of the discharge opening that enables an optimized entry of rinsing liquid, in particular for cleaning the discharge opening.
- the shaft equipped with the IR light barrier is designed to be optimized for operation of the IR light barrier with regard to its geometric dimensions, in particular in the direction of the light beam provided by the light barrier.
- the extension of the shaft channel in the direction of the IR light beam must be chosen so that a sufficient amount of cleaning agent to be discharged through the shaft channel can be passed through, so that reliable detection is possible, on the one hand and on the other hand, that the emitted by the transmitter of the IR light barrier
- the light beam also reaches the assigned receiver safely, even within manufacturing and component-related tolerances.
- the discharge opening on the washing compartment side is partially covered by means of a cover, leaving a discharge gap, with a hood open downwards being provided for each shaft channel opening in the closed position of the washing compartment door.
- hoods has the advantage that the discharge opening is closed on all sides except for the discharge gap, so that unwanted penetration of dirt, liquids, leftover food and/or the like into the discharge opening is largely prevented.
- the gaps left by the hoods are set up so that they are in the closed position of the washing compartment door point downwards. Accordingly, the discharge opening is covered at the top when the washing compartment door is in the open position, so that when the dishwasher is loaded, liquids and/or falling food residues that drip from the items to be cleaned cannot reach the discharge opening directly through the discharge gap.
- the pipe has an inlet opening opposite the discharge opening, the discharge opening and the inlet opening being designed to be offset from one another with respect to the longitudinal direction of the pipe.
- This offset arrangement of inlet opening and discharge opening makes it possible to preferentially feed cleaning agent entering the pipe via the inlet opening to one of the two shafts of the discharge channel on the washing chamber side. It is thus structurally ensured in a simple manner that preferably only one of the two shafts, namely the shaft equipped with the IR light barrier, is supplied with cleaning agent in the case of dosing. Not only a qualitative sensory recording but also a quantitative sensory recording is then possible. It is sufficient to carry out a threshold value test as part of a quantitative recording in order to be able to advantageously use a machine control to calculate in advance how many dosing processes there is cleaning agent in the storage container of the dosing unit.
- means can alternatively or additionally be provided by means of which cleaning agent applied to the pipe via the inlet opening can be fed to the shaft equipped with the IR light barrier.
- Such means can in particular be guide and/or impact ribs that are positioned in the discharge channel. In this way, the cleaning agent applied to the pipe can be specifically redirected in the direction of the preferred shaft.
- the cover having the two hoods is formed in one piece. This results in cost-effective production and easy assembly.
- Fig. 1 shows a dishwasher 1 in a purely schematic representation.
- this has a housing 2 which accommodates a washing container 3.
- the washing container 3 in turn provides a washing space 4 for holding items to be cleaned.
- the washing container 3 has a loading opening 5. This can be closed in a fluid-tight manner by means of a washing compartment door 6, the washing compartment door 6 being mounted so that it can rotate about a horizontally extending pivot axis.
- the spray device 8 When used as intended, the items to be cleaned are exposed to washing liquid, the so-called washing liquor, for which purpose the dishwasher has a spray device 8.
- the spray device 8 includes an upper spray arm 9 and a lower spray arm 10, each of which is rotatably mounted.
- Fig. 2 shows a schematic perspective view of an interior view of the washing compartment door 6.
- the washing compartment door 6 has on the inside a combination device 11 known from the prior art, which on the one hand has a rinse aid supply 12 and on the other hand has an individual storage container 13, which has to be filled manually with cleaning agent by the user for each cleaning cycle.
- the dishwasher 1 also has a dosing unit 14, which is also accessible to the user via the inside 7 of the washing compartment door 6.
- the dosing unit 14 in turn has a housing 28 which houses a dosing device 15.
- the dosing device 15 is accessible to the user via a loading opening provided by the housing 28.
- the loading opening of the housing 28 is closed fluid-tight by means of a housing cover.
- the dosing device 15 has a receptacle 27 for a storage container that can preferably be exchanged therein, as can be seen in particular from the illustration Fig. 5 results.
- This storage container stores an amount of cleaning agent that is sufficient for a plurality of cleaning cycles to be completed, ie cleaning programs.
- the dosing device 15 of the dosing unit 14 dispenses cleaning agent in portions, which then flows into the washing compartment 4 of the dishwasher.
- a discharge opening 17 is provided on the inside 7 of the washing compartment door 6. This discharge opening 17 is covered on the treatment room side with a cover 19, as shown in particular in a synopsis of Figures 2 and 3 shows.
- a pipe 29, which provides a discharge channel 30, is used to check cleaning agent from the dosing device 15 to the discharge opening 17, as can be seen in particular from the illustration Fig. 6 results.
- the pipe 29 has an inlet opening 18 opposite the discharge opening 17. Cleaning agent coming from the storage container enters through this inlet opening 18 Discharge channel 30 of the pipe 29 and is led to the outlet opening 30, from where it reaches the washing chamber 4.
- the discharge channel 30 is divided on the discharge opening side into two shafts 25 and 26 that are separated from one another in terms of fluid flow, as can be seen in particular from a synopsis of the Figures 4 , 5 and 6 results.
- One of the two shafts 26 houses an IR light barrier 31, which provides a light beam 37 that traverses the channel 24 provided by the shaft 26.
- the other of the two shafts 25 provides a channel 23, with both channels opening into a respective channel opening, which in total form the discharge opening 17, which factual connection can be seen in particular from the illustration Fig. 5 results.

Dishwashers of the generic type have a washing compartment that provides a washing compartment. This is accessible on the user side via a loading opening, which can be closed in a fluid-tight manner by means of a pivotably mounted washing compartment door. When used as intended, the washing container serves to hold items to be cleaned, which can be, for example, dishes, cutlery and/or the like.
To achieve an optimized rinsing or cleaning result, process chemicals are generally used, which are supplied to the rinsing chamber during a rinsing and/or drying process. Such process chemicals are, in particular, cleaning chemicals that are supplied to the washing compartment in a program-controlled manner.
The construction described above has proven itself in everyday practical use. However, there is a desire for optimization, and it is particularly desirable to be able to permanently prevent unwanted clogging of the discharge opening. It is therefore the object of the invention to further develop a dishwasher of the type mentioned in such a way that the discharge opening is structurally protected from unwanted clogging, in particular with cleaning agent residues.
To solve this problem, the invention proposes a dishwasher of the type mentioned at the outset, which is characterized in that the discharge channel is divided into two shafts that are separated from each other in terms of flow technology, one of the two shafts being equipped with an IR light barrier provides light beam traversing the channel provided by the shaft.
It cannot be avoided that due to the entry of moisture, cleaning agent sticks in or on the discharge opening or in the discharge channel leading to the discharge opening. These attachments are caused by moisture-related clumping of the cleaning agent and can lead to a narrowing or even clogging of the discharge channel and/or the discharge opening. Proper operation of the dishwasher is then no longer possible because the cleaning agent that is actually to be introduced into the washing container is retained in an undesired manner.
The sensor is an IR light barrier, which is preferably arranged near the discharge opening.
For the sensor designed as an IR light barrier to function properly and safely, the discharge channel or the discharge opening must not be too wide in the direction of the light beam provided by the IR light barrier. This is not because angular deviations in the light beam caused by manufacturing tolerances can result in the light beam emitted by the transmitter of the IR light barrier not reaching the receiver of the IR light barrier. As a result, reliable detection of cleaning agents released into the washing compartment is no longer possible. In order to ensure proper function of the IR light barrier, it is preferred to make the discharge channel or the discharge opening as narrow or as small as possible in the direction of the light beam provided by the IR light barrier.
On the other hand, for a desired cleaning of the discharge channel or the discharge opening by means of the spray jet emitted by a spray nozzle of the spray device, it is desirable to make the discharge channel or the discharge opening as wide or as large as possible, so that it is ensured that the spray jet reaches the discharge channel or the discharge opening is also reached.
There are therefore conflicting requirements in that for proper and safe operation of the IR light barrier it is desired to make the discharge channel or the discharge opening as narrow or small as possible, whereas for the desired cleaning of the discharge channel or the discharge opening by means of of a spray jet emitted by the spray device, it is desirable to make the discharge channel or the discharge opening as wide or large as possible.
These conflicting requirements are, as it were, met with the design according to the invention, so that as a result, even further optimized protection against unwanted clogging of the discharge opening is achieved. The dishwasher, which can in particular be a household dishwasher, comprises a washing container which provides a washing compartment and is used to hold items to be cleaned, wherein the washing container has a loading opening for loading items to be cleaned, which can be closed in a fluid-tight manner by means of a pivotably mounted washing compartment door. It also includes a dosing unit provided by the washing compartment door for storing a pourable, ie for example a powdery or granular, cleaning agent for a plurality of cleaning cycles, the dosing unit having a pipe for introducing cleaning agent into the washing compartment in portions, which provides a discharge channel, which opens into a discharge opening on the washing compartment side.
According to the inventive design of the dishwasher, it is provided that the discharge channel is divided into two shafts that are separated from each other in terms of flow technology on the discharge opening side. Each shaft opens into the washing chamber, so that the two shaft openings together form the discharge opening.
One of the two shafts is equipped with an IR light barrier, which provides a light beam that passes through the channel provided by the shaft. The other shaft, on the other hand, can basically be of any size, which enables optimization with regard to the cleaning of the discharge channel or the discharge opening by a spray jet emitted by the spray device of the dishwasher. The result of this configuration is the synergetic effect that both reliable cleaning agent sensing and desired cleaning are possible.
If cleaning agent is dispensed, it is irrelevant that cleaning agent is discharged through both shafts. The sensor, which is designed as an IR light barrier, should only be used to record qualitatively in such a way that, when dosing, it is checked whether cleaning agent has actually reached the washing compartment via the discharge opening. In this respect, it does not matter for the sensory detection whether over Only part of the cleaning agent is discharged into the washing compartment through the shaft equipped with the IR light barrier.
For proper cleaning of the discharge channel or the discharge opening, it is also not important whether the spray jet emitted by the spray device only reaches one of the two shafts.
By dividing the discharge channel on the washroom side into two sub-areas and arranging the trickle sensor, i.e. the IR light barrier in only one of the two areas, the overall advantage is that the discharge opening can be made as large as desired without losing signal quality with regard to the IR light barrier. This ensures a maximum entry of rinsing liquid into the discharge channel or the discharge opening. In addition, a smaller design of the trickle sensor, i.e. the IR light barrier, can be selected, which also leads to an economic advantage in terms of production.
According to a further feature of the invention, it is provided that a partition wall extending into the discharge opening is provided to divide the discharge channel into two shafts. In a structurally simple manner, a fluidic separation of the two shafts from one another is ensured. The geometric dimensions of the partition depend on the installation space required for the IR light barrier. The division of the discharge channel according to the invention into a first shaft and a second shaft makes it possible to choose the size of the shaft housing the IR light barrier in such a way that optimized operation of the IR light barrier is possible, particularly from the perspective of: Minimization of susceptibility to failure is achieved. The partition wall must be designed accordingly, especially in the longitudinal direction of the discharge channel.
According to a further feature of the invention, it is provided that the two shafts each have a channel opening into a respective opening on the washing compartment side, the two channel openings together forming the discharge opening. The advantage of the embodiment according to the invention in this context is that the size of the channel opening of the shaft housing the IR light barrier can be specified in accordance with an optimized use of the IR light barrier and that the channel opening of the second shaft can be freely selected without influencing the operation of the IR light barrier can be, so that overall there is a size of the discharge opening that enables an optimized entry of rinsing liquid, in particular for cleaning the discharge opening.
According to a further feature of the invention, it is provided that the shaft equipped with the IR light barrier is designed to be optimized for operation of the IR light barrier with regard to its geometric dimensions, in particular in the direction of the light beam provided by the light barrier. The extension of the shaft channel in the direction of the IR light beam must be chosen so that a sufficient amount of cleaning agent to be discharged through the shaft channel can be passed through, so that reliable detection is possible, on the one hand and on the other hand, that the emitted by the transmitter of the IR light barrier The light beam also reaches the assigned receiver safely, even within manufacturing and component-related tolerances.
According to a further feature of the invention, it is provided that the discharge opening on the washing compartment side is partially covered by means of a cover, leaving a discharge gap, with a hood open downwards being provided for each shaft channel opening in the closed position of the washing compartment door.
The design of such hoods has the advantage that the discharge opening is closed on all sides except for the discharge gap, so that unwanted penetration of dirt, liquids, leftover food and/or the like into the discharge opening is largely prevented. The gaps left by the hoods are set up so that they are in the closed position of the washing compartment door point downwards. Accordingly, the discharge opening is covered at the top when the washing compartment door is in the open position, so that when the dishwasher is loaded, liquids and/or falling food residues that drip from the items to be cleaned cannot reach the discharge opening directly through the discharge gap.
According to a further feature of the invention, it is provided that the pipe has an inlet opening opposite the discharge opening, the discharge opening and the inlet opening being designed to be offset from one another with respect to the longitudinal direction of the pipe.
This offset arrangement of inlet opening and discharge opening makes it possible to preferentially feed cleaning agent entering the pipe via the inlet opening to one of the two shafts of the discharge channel on the washing chamber side.
According to a further feature of the invention, means can alternatively or additionally be provided by means of which cleaning agent applied to the pipe via the inlet opening can be fed to the shaft equipped with the IR light barrier. Such means can in particular be guide and/or impact ribs that are positioned in the discharge channel. In this way, the cleaning agent applied to the pipe can be specifically redirected in the direction of the preferred shaft.
According to a further feature of the invention it is provided that the cover having the two hoods is formed in one piece. This results in cost-effective production and easy assembly.
