Definitions

  • the invention relates to a tongue for a tongue-and-groove connection, a component with a groove for a tongue-and-groove connection and an at least two-part component with at least one tongue-and-groove connection of its parts.
  • the main area of application of the invention is building elements made of wood, especially for the construction industry, e.g. the provision of wall, roof and ceiling panels that are composed of wooden profiles using tongue-and-groove connections.
  • Such components are, for example, from DE 10 2014 006 621 A1 already known.
  • the panel-shaped components are composed of solid wood profiles. Their wooden tongue and groove connections are glue and metal free. The wind and airtightness expected in the construction industry requires a correspondingly high surface pressure at the interfaces of the tongue and groove connection.
  • the grooves of the tongue and groove connections according to DE 10 2014 006 621 A1 are undercut. This results in increased strength through positive locking transversely to the groove in the plane of the plate formed.
  • undercut grooves or limited space during production require that the tongues be inserted into the grooves in the longitudinal direction. If an appropriate surface pressure between the tongue and groove is to be achieved, the effort required to overcome the friction between the tongue and groove when inserting the tongue into the groove is very large and increases with the length of the tongue, which can be several meters in the construction industry.
  • the invention is based on the object of providing a tongue-and-groove connection that requires less effort than in the prior art can be assembled, does not require any auxiliary material such as adhesive or sealant in addition to the actual material for the tongue and groove, and meets the construction industry's requirements for tightness and strength.
  • the spring can be formed in one piece with the component that it is intended to connect. Alternatively, it can be a separate component that interacts with a groove in two components to be connected.
  • the cross section of the spring in the sense of this description is always that of the actual spring without the component to be connected.
  • the invention is particularly suitable for wooden tongue-and-groove connections in which the tongue is made of wood and the groove is formed in wood.
  • the feature of the accuracy of fit means that it is present at the end of the assembly of a tongue-and-groove connection according to the invention.
  • the spring is inserted with the end with the smaller cross-section in the longitudinal direction into the groove at the end with the larger cross-section. Therefore there is initially play between the tongue and the groove. As you continue to push in, this play becomes smaller until the walls (surfaces) of the tongue and groove nestle together. There is permanent surface contact on the walls and ultimately surface pressure between the tongue and groove along the entire length of the connection. In this final phase of inserting the spring, the friction of the surface pressure must now be overcome, but only over a distance that is a fraction of the length of the spring. At the end of assembly, the tongue sits snugly and tightly in its groove over its entire length.
  • the length of the one parallel side of the trapezoidal cross section of the tongue or groove, which decreases over the length of the tongue or groove, is selected so that it is the distance between the walls of the tongue and groove in areas of the cross section, in which there should be surface pressure at the end of assembly, at least co-determined.
  • the aspect ratio of the two parallel sides with different lengths of the trapezoidal cross section of the tongue or groove is in the range from 1:1.05 to 1:1.7; preferably in the range of 1:1.1 to 1:1.5; particularly preferably from 1:1.21 to 1:1.44.
  • the ratio of the height of the trapezoidal cross-section to the length of the longer side of the two parallel sides of the trapezoidal cross-section of the tongue or groove is in the range from 1:1 to 1:5; preferably in the range from 1:2 to 1:4; particularly preferably from 1:1.2 to 1:3.
  • FIG. 1 There are two identical profiles 1 made of solid wood next to each other, each with a rectangular cross section and a comparatively large longitudinal extent of, for example, three meters.
  • the two profiles 1 are to be connected to one another using a tongue-and-groove connection according to the invention.
  • a continuous groove 2 is milled out in one of the two narrow sides of both profiles 1 of the same design.
  • the groove 2 is undercut and has one trapezoidal cross section, the longer side 3 of which forms the base of the groove 2.
  • the dimension of the cross section on its longer side 3 is not constant. She is at the in Figure 1 visible front end 4 of the solid wood profile 1 is largest and increases in the longitudinal direction of the groove 2 to the other, in Figure 1 towards the rear end 5 of the profile.
  • the remaining cross-sectional dimensions of the groove 2 are constant over the entire length of the solid wood profile 1. But since the length of the long side 3 of the trapezoidal cross section decreases towards the rear end 5 of the groove 2, in other words the groove at the base 3 becomes narrower, the inclination of the two side walls of the groove relative to the base also decreases.
  • the two solid wood profiles 1 lie next to each other so that their grooved narrow sides abut each other, compare Figure 2 .
  • the two grooves 2 form a channel-like double groove 22 with a symmetrical cross section corresponding to the two grooves, i.e. in the form of two identical trapezoids mirrored to one another on the shorter of their two parallel sides, see also Figure 3 .
  • a spring 11 made of solid wood of the same length as the profiles 1 and with a cross section that corresponds exactly to the cross section of the double groove 22 in the two profiles is used to create the connection Figure 3 .
  • the spring 11 is inserted with the end 15, which has a smaller cross section, into the double groove of the adjacent profiles, from the end face 4 of the two profiles, on which their two grooves 2 have the larger cross section.
  • Figure 2 shows the two profiles 1 with the spring 11 largely pushed in.
  • the spring 11 has play in the double groove 22. Since sections of the tongue with an increasingly larger cross-section enter the double groove as you push it in further, the play increasingly decreases until the groove 22 and tongue 11 touch and finally surface pressure occurs between the tongue and groove along the entire length of the same. Only in this final stage of assembly does the spring have to be pushed in with great force in order to overcome the friction between the double groove and the spring.
  • the dimension of the two long sides of the cross section of the double spring increases in the longitudinal direction of the spring from the rear end in the insertion direction front end by 3 mm. That's a decrease from 100% to 92%. Accordingly, in the opposite direction, the dimension of the angle between the long and inclined sides of the trapezoid decreases by 6 degrees.
