Definitions
- the invention relates to a magnetic separator according to the preamble of the first patent claim.
- a magnetic separator is used to remove magnetic and/or magnetizable particles, such as metal chips, from the fluid being processed.
- the magnetic separator has a vessel that can be flowed through and in which a magnetic field is generated. With this magnetic field, magnetic and/or magnetizable particles are deposited from the fluid onto parts of the vessel wall.
- at least one permanent magnet is used, which is arranged in a pot which projects into the interior of the vessel and the fluid flows around it there. Magnetic and/or magnetizable particles are now deposited on this pot. A layer gradually forms on the wall of the pot exposed to the interior.
- the magnetic separator During a maintenance procedure, the magnetic separator must be opened in order to remove the attached magnetic and/or magnetizable particles. After cleaning, the magnetic separator is closed again and the process can be started and operated again until the accumulated particles are so numerous that cleaning is required.
- US 5,043,063 shows a magnetic separator made of a hollow body that has an open top and a removable lid.
- a plate is mounted on the lid and elongated, spaced non-magnetic tubes are attached.
- Elongated magnet stacks are attached to the plate and extend through the lid into the tubes.
- the cover can be removed from the housing and the magnet stacks can be pulled out of the non-magnetic tubes with the plate so that the magnetic field inside the tubes is reduced and magnetic material falls down.
- the magnetic separator includes a housing which has an interior, a connection and a flange.
- a lid is in a detachable connection with the flange and has a pot that can be inserted into the interior.
- the magnetic separator has a magnet arrangement that includes a permanent magnet that can be inserted into the pot. It is envisaged that the magnetic separator comprises a movable locking element for fixing the permanent magnet introduced into the pot, which is brought into positive locking with the magnet arrangement by the connection of the cover and flange.
- the permanent magnet is only fixed in a position in the pot when the magnet arrangement is connected to the housing. This is particularly the case during operation in the process. During maintenance, the magnet assembly is no longer connected to the housing.
- the permanent magnet can then be removed from the pot, whereby the magnetic field on the pot is weakened or completely removed and cleaning the pot is much easier and therefore faster. At the same time, it prevents the permanent magnet from being removed from the pot during the process and the particles from unintentionally getting into the interior of the housing.
- the locking element is arranged on the lid.
- the operation of the magnetic separator during maintenance is made easier in a further development in that a restoring element is provided and the locking element is brought into positive engagement against a restoring force of the restoring element.
- a control element is provided with which a movement of the permanent magnet is coupled to a displacement of the locking element.
- the control element can be attached to one of the locking elements or magnet arrangements.
- the coupling means that the permanent magnet can only be removed from the pot when the lid and flange are separated from each other. This prevents the permanent magnet from being accidentally removed when it is ready for use Condition of the magnetic separator. Contamination of the product is thus prevented by further training.
- the locking element comprises a control plate and the control plate has a groove in which a pin of the magnet arrangement is received and which runs obliquely to a direction of movement of the magnet arrangement. Pin and groove create an easy-to-produce and reliably functioning coupling.
- the effect of the magnetic separator is improved by an enlarged magnetically active surface and at the same time an easily producible coupling is created if the magnet arrangement comprises at least two permanent magnets, each of the permanent magnets can be inserted into its own pot and has a holder and the pin connects two holders together.
- the pot is continued by a tubular extension on a side of the lid facing away from the pot. This acts as protection and guidance for the permanent magnet.
- Another development improves the maintenance properties by providing a protective cover on a side of the lid facing away from the pot, into which the permanent magnet can be inserted and which is designed to shield the magnetic field. This prevents magnetic and/or magnetizable particles from attaching to the permanent magnet while it is not in the pot.
- the protective cover includes a hood so that the permanent magnet is completely protected while it is not in the pot.
- the magnetic separator has a housing 1, which has an interior 2.
- a connection 3 provided on the housing 1 is designed to be connectable to a process system and is fluidly connected to the interior 2. Preferably, at least two connections are provided and designed to allow flow through the magnetic separator.
- a flange 4 is formed on the housing 1 to accommodate a cover 5.
- a sealing seat 6 can be formed on the flange, which cooperates with a seal 7 which can be arranged on the cover 5.
- a pot 8 is provided on the lid 5, which projects into the interior 2 of the magnetic separator and is designed so that process fluid can flow around it.
- a permanent magnet 9 can be inserted into the interior of the pot 8, the magnetic field of which extends into the interior 2 of the magnetic separator and attracts magnetic and magnetizable particles there. These are deposited on a surface 10 of the pot 8 facing the interior 2.
- several pots are provided, into which permanent magnets can each be inserted. This improves the ratio of magnetic material to surface. There is more surface permeated by a magnetic field available on which the magnetic and/or magnetizable particles are deposited.
- the permanent magnet 9 is attached to a magnet arrangement 11.
- the magnet arrangement 11 holds the permanent magnet 9 and effects positioning within the pot 8.
- the magnet arrangement 11 can be designed to be movable, in particular displaceable in a straight line along a first axis A. By moving the magnet arrangement 11, the permanent magnet 9 can be inserted into the pot 8 or removed from it. Removing the permanent magnet 9 is advantageous when cleaning the magnetic separator, since the magnetic field on the pot 8 is weakened or completely eliminated and the attached particles can be removed more easily from the surface 10.
- the magnet arrangement 11 can comprise a rod 12, at the end facing the pot 8 the permanent magnet 9 is attached.
- the rod 12 passes through a hole 13 which is provided in the cover 5.
- a free diameter of the hole 13 is dimensioned such that the permanent magnet 9 can be moved through the hole.
- the rod 12 is movably mounted in a rod bearing 14, which rod bearing 14 is accommodated in a holder 15 attached to the cover 5.
- a handle 16 can be provided, with which the permanent magnet 9 can be manually moved out of the pot 8 and inserted into it.
- This advantageously inexpensive and structurally simple design can alternatively be replaced or supplemented by a pneumatic, electrical or hydraulic actuation device.
- a locking element 17 is arranged on the lid 5. This includes a rod-shaped slide 18 which is mounted in a bearing block 19 by a slide bearing 20 so that it can move along a second axis L.
- the Fig. 1 shows an operational state of the magnetic separator, in which the cover 5 rests on the flange 4 and the interior 2 is closed.
- a first slide end 21 of the slide 18 touches the flange 4.
- a second slide end 22 forms a positive connection with the magnet arrangement 11 by overlapping a locking disk 23 in such a way that the movement of the magnet arrangement 11 along the first axis A is prevented.
- the movable locking element 17 for fixing the permanent magnet introduced into the pot 8 is brought into a positive fit by connecting the cover 5 and flange 4 to the magnet arrangement 11.
- the positive connection between the locking element 17 and the magnet arrangement 11 can be released and the magnet arrangement can be moved along the first axis A.
- the permanent magnet 9 can then be removed from the pot 8.
- a biasing device is provided on the locking element 17.
- this includes a pressure washer 24 arranged on the rod-shaped slide 18.
- a restoring element 25 designed as a spiral spring is arranged.
- the restoring element 25 is designed in such a way that it is mechanically tensioned when the cover 5 and flange 4 are connected to one another, and when the connection between the flange 4 and cover 5 is loosened, this tension leads to a movement of the locking element 17, which ensures the positive connection between the locking element 17 and magnet arrangement 11 cancels.
- the pressure washer 24 can alternatively be designed as a shoulder on the rod-shaped slide 18.
- a protective cover 26 is provided on a side of the lid 5 facing away from the pot 8, into which the permanent magnet 9 can be inserted and which is designed to shield the magnetic field.
- This shielding can be achieved either by a suitable material for the protective cover 26, for example magneto-impermeable metal (MU metal).
- MU metal magneto-impermeable metal
- the protective cover 26 can be designed as a hood, so that on the side of the lid 5 facing away from the pot 8, the protective cover 26 completely encloses the permanent magnet 9.
- the Fig. 2 shows the magnetic separator of the first embodiment in a further development.
- the first part of the further training concerns the design and interaction of the locking element and magnet arrangement.
- the locking element 17 comprises as a control element a control plate 27, which is connected to the slide 18', for example with the aid of a pin connection 28, which preferably has only a small amount of play.
- the control plate has a groove 29 in which a pin 30 is received, which is attached to the magnet arrangement 11.
- the groove 29 extends in a longitudinal direction R.
- a width of the groove 29 and a diameter of the pin 30 are coordinated with one another so that the pin 30 can be moved in the groove 29 following the longitudinal direction R.
- the longitudinal direction is R tilted against the first axis A, along which the magnet arrangement 11 is movable. A movement of the magnet arrangement 11 and its pin 30 therefore causes a movement of the control plate 27 transversely to the direction of movement of the magnet arrangement 11.
- the slide 18 ' follows this transverse movement and carries out a movement along the second axis L.
- the longitudinal direction R of the groove 29 is aligned such that a movement of the magnet arrangement 11, which corresponds to the removal of the permanent magnet from the pot 8, causes a movement of the slide 18 ', which prevents the cover 5 from being mounted on the flange 4.
- an assembly in which seal 7 and seal seat 6 come into sealing contact is prevented.
- a non-operational magnetic separator in which the permanent magnet 9 is not in the pot 8 and therefore cannot fix any particles on the surface 10 of the pot 8, is put into operation.
- the slide 18 ' is brought into a position in which the cover 5 can be connected to the flange 4 and the seal 7 and seal seat 6 come into contact.
- the second part of the further training concerns the pot. It is advantageous to continue the pot 8 with a tubular extension 31 on a side of the lid 5 facing away from the pot 8.
- the extent of the tubular extension 31 above the lid 5 is dimensioned such that it offers the permanent magnet 9 protection when it is removed from the pot 8.
- the tubular extension 31 can be designed to guide the magnet arrangement 11.
- the protective cover 26 ' can include a foot 32, which is attached to the cover 5 and connectable to the flange 4.
- a clamp 33 includes foot 32 and flange 4 and creates a detachable connection between cover 5 and flange 4.
- a second slide bearing 34 can be provided in foot 32, which is at a distance from the slide bearing 20 and improves the guidance of the slide 18 '.
- FIG. 3 Another development of the example of a magnetic separator is shown.
- the magnet arrangement comprises an upper part 35, which can be designed as a plate which is arranged essentially parallel to the cover 5.
- the upper part 35 has an edge 36 lying on the outside in a radial direction, which rests on the flange 4 when the magnetic separator is in the operational state.
- a projection 37 pointing in the direction of the lid 5 is provided on a side of the upper part 35 facing the lid 5.
- a receptacle 38 is provided in the projection 37 for receiving the rod-shaped slide 18 in the operational state of the magnetic separator, which is advantageously designed simply as a bore, for example.
- Lid 5 and upper part 35 are designed to be detachably connected to one another.
- the cover 5 can have a set screw 39, which passes through the upper part 35 when the magnetic separator is ready for operation and carries a nut 40 to secure the connection of the cover 5 and the upper part 35.
- the interconnected cover 5 and upper part 35 are first lifted off the flange 4.
- the restoring element 25 causes a displacement of the slide 18 along the second axis L such that it is removed from the receptacle 38. This allows the upper part 35 to be lifted off the lid 5.
- the permanent magnet 9, which is mechanically connected to the upper part, is removed from the pot 8 when it is lifted. The removal makes cleaning the surface 10 considerably easier.
- This structure advantageously ensures that the permanent magnet 9 can only be removed from the pot 8 when the magnetic separator is obviously transferred from the operational state to a non-operational state, in which the cover 5 and upper part 35 are no longer connected to the housing 1 .
- This magnetic separator can also be improved with a control element. For example, this can be done after an Fig. 2
- the principle shown couples the distance between the upper part 35 and the cover 5 to the radial position of the slide 18. This simplifies assembly and prevents incorrect operation.

Description
- Fig. 1:
- Teilschnitt durch einen Magnetabscheider in einer ersten Ausführungsform;
- Fig. 2:
- Teilschnitt durch den Magnetabscheider in einer Weiterbildung der ersten Ausführungsform;
- Fig. 3:
- In
