Definitions
- the invention applies to the field of lighting and signaling of motor vehicles.
- the invention relates to a specific housing for a signaling module such as daytime running lights (known as DRLs for “ Daytime Running Lights ”) intended to equip motor vehicles as well as a motor vehicle equipped with said module.
- a signaling module such as daytime running lights (known as DRLs for “ Daytime Running Lights ”) intended to equip motor vehicles as well as a motor vehicle equipped with said module.
- Each module includes an electronic system (for example, a printed circuit board, PCB) controlling one or more lighting sources in the form of lamps (halogen, xenon, LED, etc.) associated with an optical system (lens, reflector ).
- PCB printed circuit board
- each module is encapsulated in boxes sealed in a sealed manner by a glass which is either common to several boxes or independent for each box, and which is generally fixed by welding.
- the housing of the signaling module and, in particular, that of the daytime signaling module (DRL) is itself housed in a larger housing also containing high beam or lighting modules ( high beam, low beam, etc.) and, in particular, inside a headlight housing which is closed by a front glass.
- DRL daytime signaling module
- Such a daytime signaling module which integrates both a lighting source (Led lamps, etc.) and an associated electronic system (PCB), generally has a flat and uniform profile to ensure homogeneity of the luminous flux.
- This module is mounted inside its own housing before the latter is definitively closed and fixed in the projector housing.
- This signaling module being generally made in a single piece or from parts assembled by screwing, gluing or riveting, in the event of wear or malfunction, the module must be completely replaced and it is then necessary to proceed to a complete change of the case or its forced opening.
- the current boxes containing these signaling modules are subject to vibrations which propagate to the internal module, thus generating problematic disturbances of the light signal.
- the invention aims to provide a technical solution making it possible to ensure the integration of an interchangeable signaling module in an easily removable housing whose profile can remain unchanged and without compromising the reliability of the assembly to the housing.
- projector in which it is always intended to be housed.
- US2011/0205747 discloses a support housing according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a support housing for a motor vehicle signaling module comprising a lighting source and an associated electronic system
- said housing comprises a lower shell and an upper shell delimiting between them a compartment open at the front to allow the introduction of the module, said lower shell and said upper shell carrying, at the rear, guide members, connecting members and locking members cooperating mutually to ensure the assembly of the two hulls.
- the guide members comprise, on the lower shell, a peripheral groove intended to receive the end edge of the upper shell by matching its contours.
- the peripheral groove has, at one of its longitudinal ends, a substantially vertical portion and, at its other end, a truncated portion offering freedom of movement to the upper shell during assembly.
- the guide members further comprise teeth projecting from the bottom of the lower shell near said peripheral groove and whose beveled rear edge cooperates with the end edge of the upper shell.
- the end edge of the upper shell is locally provided with bosses intended to ensure tightening in the peripheral groove of the lower shell during assembly.
- the connecting members comprise at least two substantially frustoconical protuberances carried by the bottom of the lower shell and intended to engage, during assembly, in two cavities of complementary profile provided facing the upper hull to ensure its centering.
- these protuberances are provided with tapered vertical ribs ensuring that the upper shell is placed under stress during its assembly on the lower shell.
- the locking members comprise at least two lugs secured to the end edge of the lower shell and intended to snap into place elastically in two complementary orifices provided opposite in legs secured to the end edge of the upper shell.
- the end edges of the upper shell and the lower shell are chamfered to facilitate their relative positioning during assembly.
- Another object of the invention is a motor vehicle equipped with a signaling module (DRL) housed in a housing having the characteristics defined above.
- DRL signaling module
- the housing of the invention finds its application for integration of the DRL signaling module, both in a lighting system with LED lamps and halogen lamps.
- This housing is manufactured independently of the projector housing inside which it is intended to be housed.
- this housing is in the packaging of an interchangeable DRL signaling module (of the “Flat guide” type) which can be easily inserted or removed from the housing after the separation of the two shells, respectively lower and upper.
- the invention offers an economic gain and a simplification of the assembly process.
- the invention relates to the field of lighting and signaling of motor vehicles.
- the invention relates to a housing B for a daytime running light or daytime running light (DRL) signaling module.
- This DRL module comprises, in a traditional manner, a lighting system consisting of a light source (for example LED lamps) coupled to an electronic circuit (for example PSB).
- the DRL signaling module is enclosed inside the housing 1 between a lower shell 1 and an upper shell 2, as illustrated by the Figure 1A .
- the lower shell 1 and the upper shell 2 define between them a compartment intended to contain the DRL module which is open at the front to ensure the diffusion of the light signal and allow the introduction or extraction of this module .
- This DRL module is generally produced in the form of a compact, flat and homogeneous block of the “Flat guide” type, integrating all the necessary optical and electronic components which is delivered ready for assembly in box B.
- the lower shell 1 and the upper shell 2 carry guide members, connecting members and locking members cooperating mutually to ensure the assembly of the two shells and the closing of the housing by trapping the signaling module DRL, as shown in the Figure 1B .
- These bodies are offset to the rear of housing B because its front face is open.
- the guide members comprise, on the lower shell 1, a peripheral groove 10 intended to receive the rear end edge 2a of the upper shell 2 by matching its contours.
- the profile of the rear end edge of the upper shell 2 is complementary to the U-shaped section of the groove 10.
- the peripheral groove 10 has, at one of its longitudinal ends, a substantially vertical portion 10a and, at its other end, a truncated portion 10b offering, during its assembly to the upper shell 2, freedom of movement in translation in avoiding hyper-statism, as illustrated by the figures 2A , 3A And 5A .
- end edge 2a of the upper shell 2 and that 1a of the lower shell 1 are chamfered to perfect their relative positioning both vertically and horizontally during assembly and before locking.
- the lower shell 1 further comprises complementary guide members consisting of teeth 11 (four teeth in the embodiment of the Figure 2A ) which project from the bottom of the lower shell near the peripheral groove 10.
- the rear edge 11a of the teeth 11 is beveled, as illustrated in particular by the Figure 3C , and comes into contact with the end edge 2a of the upper shell 2 to orient it towards the groove 10 and thus facilitate assembly with the lower shell 1.
- the end edge 2a of the upper shell 2 is, in addition, locally provided with a series of bosses 21, shown on the Figure 2B And 4A . Indeed, taking into account the relatively long length of the housing B, these bosses 21 make it possible to ensure mutual contact with tightening between the two shells 1, 2 in the peripheral groove 10 during assembly and to guarantee optimal interlocking.
- the connecting members between the two shells 1, 2 comprise at least two substantially frustoconical protuberances or columns 12 ( Figures 3A and 3B ) carried by the bottom of the lower shell 1.
- the protuberances 12 are intended to engage, during the assembly of the housing B, in two cavities 22 of complementary profile provided facing each other on the upper shell 2 in order to ensure its centering, as illustrated by the Figures 3A, 3B And 4A .
- the cavities 22 are provided here in projecting studs 24 in the shape of domes carried by the bottom of the upper shell 2.
- Each protuberance 12 is preferably provided with tapered vertical ribs 12a, here three in number (respectively one rib on a first face of the protuberance 12 and two ribs on the opposite face). These ribs 12a ensure that the upper shell 2 is placed under stress when, in the final assembly phase, the cavities 22 forcefully cover the protuberances 12 of the lower shell 1, as illustrated by the Figure 4B .
- the latter have a flared opening 22a, as illustrated in section by the Figure 4B . Placing the shells 1, 2 under stress once assembled together makes it possible to avoid the propagation of vibrations and thus protects the operation of the DRL module.
- the locking members comprise at least two lugs 13 (visible in particular on the figures 1A, 1B And 3A ) secured to the end edge 1a of the lower shell 1 and intended to snap into place, elastically and therefore reversibly, in two complementary orifices 20 provided opposite in lugs 23 secured to the end edge 2a of the upper shell 2, as illustrated by figures 5A , 5B .
- the lugs 13 are carried by lugs 14 whose dimensions are substantially identical to those of the lugs 23.
- the external face of the lugs 13 is inclined downwards to facilitate the sliding of the lugs 23 and their alignment with the orifices 20.
- the unlocking of the two shells 1, 2 and the opening of the housing B can be easily carried out by manually pressing on the external face of the lugs 13 to release them from the tabs 23 then by exerting traction on the upper shell 2 in order to separate the two hulls. Access to the interior compartment in which the DRL module is located then becomes possible.
