Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for cleaning the head of a golf club.
- the club head When using a golf club, the club head in particular can become very dirty, e.g. with grass, dirt and sand. To clean it, cleaning devices are known which apply water to the head of a golf club.
- a cleaning machine with a water jet system is known. This has a nozzle module carriage with several groups of nozzles, with which the heads of several golf clubs are successively subjected to pressurized water. In this case, the racquet head is only insufficiently flushed with water and thus insufficient cleaning.
- a cleaning apparatus for the wheels of a golf trolley is also known. For cleaning golf clubs, this has an additional channel into which the heads of golf clubs can be placed and sprayed with water through nozzle channels directed downwards. In this case, however, the underside of a club head in particular is cleaned only insufficiently.
- a machine for high-pressure cleaning of golf clubs and golf balls is known.
- this has a cleaning basket for inserting the golf clubs and golf balls, as well as a water supply pipe with nozzles extending laterally on the cleaning basket.
- This is rotated once around the cleaning basket by an electric motor in 5 to 6 seconds, so that jets of water from the nozzles spray a racket in the cleaning basket.
- the cleaning effect that can be achieved in this way depends on the position of a club head on the bottom of the cleaning basket, so that not all regions of a club head are sprayed evenly. In addition, unwanted water splashes cannot be avoided.
- this machine In addition to a pump for generating a water jet, this machine has a large number of other components, in particular the arm-shaped, angled water supply pipe, a high-pressure-tight and mechanically robust rotary joint required for its rotary bearing, and an electric motor for rotating the water supply pipe. Production and maintenance of such a machine require high expenditure, although the achievable cleaning effect is uneven.
- the invention is based on the object to provide a device with enables a more thorough and faster cleaning of the head of a golf club with less technical effort.
- the device according to the invention for cleaning the head of a golf club has a cup-shaped cleaning chamber for inserting the head and a pressurized water system with at least one nozzle in a first nozzle level. This directs a jet of water into the cleaning chamber in such a way that a water bath is formed in it with an initial eddy-like water flow, which turbulently flows around the head of the golf club and causes it to rotate quickly.
- a cleaning chamber designed according to the invention preferably has the shape of a cup-shaped trough. At least the head of a golf club can be inserted into this, preferably vertically from above.
- Cleaning water is preferably injected in jet form into the cleaning chamber via at least one nozzle of the pressurized water system. Due to this inflow of water, a water bath forms in it, which floods the golf club head.
- the water jet is introduced from the at least one nozzle into the cleaning chamber in such a way that it flows turbulently around the golf club head and exerts a strong cleaning effect on its entire surface.
- the at least one nozzle is also particularly advantageously arranged and aligned in a first nozzle plane in such a way that a first eddy-like water flow is also formed in the water bath.
- a golf club head located in this area of the water bath is caught by this circulating layer of water and, according to the invention, is set in rapid rotation.
- the cup-shaped cleaning chamber can have a round cross section and a raised cylindrical wall.
- the at least one nozzle can also be particularly advantageous be arranged and aligned in the wall in such a way that the water jet is introduced laterally or obliquely, preferably approximately eccentrically and tangentially to the wall, hits the inside of the cleaning chamber wall at an oblique angle and is deflected there.
- a particularly turbulent, vortex-like flow of water can be brought about in the water bath of the cleaning chamber.
- the head of a golf club located therein is swept along by it and, according to the invention, is made to rotate particularly quickly.
- the cup-shaped cleaning chamber can be arranged at the lowest point of the device according to the invention.
- a golf club to be cleaned can be inserted into the cleaning chamber, comparable to an umbrella in an umbrella stand, over the club head in such a way that the club shaft is e.g. directed upwards approximately vertically above the golf club head.
- the eddy-like water flow according to the invention can cause the entire golf club to rotate about an axis of rotation, which runs, for example, from the club head approximately in the direction of the club grip at the upper end of the club shaft. The racquet head with the striking surface thus rotates around itself, comparable to a spinning top.
- a pivot point can arise that lies in an area on the sole on the underside of the head, especially at its lowest point. At the same time, this can be the contact point of the club head on the floor of the cup-shaped cleaning chamber.
- the dimensions of the cup-shaped cleaning chamber, the arrangement of the at least one nozzle and the pressure value of the at least one water jet generated by the pressurized water system can be matched to one another in such a way that a golf club head is rotated at a rotational speed with a preferred value range of about 100 to 200 revolutions per minute.
- the invention makes it possible for a golf club head to be cleaned not only to be sprayed directly by the water jet of a pressurized water system. Rather, a golf club head is surrounded by the turbulent water currents from all sides in a whirling manner, and is also whisked extremely intensively in the water bath due to its rapid rotation, comparable to a mixer head. With the invention, a particularly fast and extremely thorough all-round cleaning of a golf club head can be achieved, even from stubborn dirt, eg clay, sand, plant residues, plant sap and greasy deposits. In addition, dried and stubborn dirt can be flushed out of all recesses on the racket head in the shortest possible time.
- a further particular advantage of the cleaning device according to the invention is that apart from the bowl-shaped cleaning chamber, comparable to a preferably round bowl with a raised edge, and its water supply via a pressurized water system, no other maintenance-intensive components are required.
- both the rotation of the golf club head and its turbulent flow around it can be caused without further mechanical components solely with the pressurized water system according to the invention.
- water is used as the predominant raw material. This forms a water bath in the cleaning chamber. In practical individual cases, its characteristics depend on the number of nozzles for generating one or more water jets and the performance of the pressurized water system. However, this does not rule out the possibility that other ingredients, e.g. cleaning and care products or fragrances, can be mixed into the continuously supplied and preferably circulated water if required.
- a cleaning water formed in this way, e.g. in a dishwasher, is also the subject of the invention.
- the pressurized water system has at least one pair of nozzles which are arranged approximately radially opposite one another in the first nozzle plane on the cleaning chamber and are aligned such that the water jets generated by them are introduced into the cleaning chamber without collision.
- This embodiment of the invention offers the particular advantage that the water jets injected into the cleaning chamber by the two nozzles interact so advantageously that a particularly strong water flow vortex is formed in the cleaning chamber in a first nozzle level located below, in particular above the floor of the cleaning chamber.
- a particularly high angular momentum and consequently a particularly high rotational speed of the club head can be caused.
- a particularly high cleaning effect is exerted on the racket head.
- this is caused by the fact that the water jets can be introduced without collision, ie without a common point of impingement or intersection in the cleaning chamber.
- the two nozzles are lying in the common nozzle plane on the walls of the Cleaning chamber arranged approximately radially opposite. This makes it possible for the two water jets to be injected into the cleaning chamber approximately parallel and in opposite directions to one another.
- the cleaning chamber contains at least one loose cleaning floating body.
- the floating cleaning body can thus move freely in the cleaning chamber and is entrained therein by the turbulent, vortex-like flow of water. He tumbles back and forth between the walls of the cleaning chamber at high speed and is thrown around.
- the cleaning float constantly collides with the rotating golf club head and comes into contact with all regions on its surface. In this way, not only dirt adhering to the striking surfaces of the golf club head are mechanically rubbed off. Rather, the cleaning floating body also comes into contact with the bottom and top sides and can also engage in troughs on the golf club head. In this way, mechanically abrasive cleaning of the entire surface of the golf club head is achieved in a particularly advantageous manner in addition to washing away cleaning.
- a cleaning floating body according to the invention can thus have a higher density than water and sink below the surface of the water bath in the cleaning chamber, or have a lower density than water and float in the water bath.
- a cleaning floating body is advantageously designed as an all-round brush.
- Such an all-round brush has a large number of bristles which protrude from a central region in a quasi-spherical or star-shaped manner in all spatial directions. Their surface is covered as completely as possible with bristles.
- Such an all-round brush offers the advantage that, regardless of its current position, the bristles can carry out an abrasive cleaning action on the entire surface of the golf club head. Furthermore, the bristles can advantageously engage, for example, in slit-shaped depressions on the golf club head.
- Such an all-round brush is particularly well suited to being swept along in the turbulently swirling water bath in the cleaning chamber exert a particularly all-round, intensive cleaning effect on the entire surface of the golf club head.
- the device has a piece of sponge as a cleaning floating body.
- This is elastically deformable and thus nestles against the contour of the surface of the golf club head to be cleaned. This improves the cleaning effect, especially in small, hard-to-reach and possibly recessed edges, corners and grooves on the golf club head. If the piece of sponge also has a porous structure, it can become saturated with the rinsing water. These properties enable a particularly gentle cleaning of a scratch-sensitive surface of a golf club head, e.g. a head made of wood.
- the cleaning floating body consists of rubber.
- a rubber body of this type in particular a spherical one, is elastic, comparable to a small ball.
- the friction properties of the rubber surface can advantageously be adapted depending on the application.
- small nubs can be formed, or changed friction properties can be formed, e.g. through hardening or softening of the surface compared to the material in the core.
- a cleaning float in particular in the form of a rubber ball, is particularly durable and tear-resistant. It can therefore also be used for a longer period of time in the turbulent, vortex-like water flow in the cleaning chamber.
- vulcanized natural rubber can also be used for its production. If the rubber body is also e.g. spongy during production, it can develop a configurable abrasive cleaning effect on the surface of a golf club head, which can be compared, e.g., to an eraser with a predetermined material hardness.
- mixtures of different types of cleaning bodies can also be used in the cleaning chamber.
- an all-round brush and a few pieces of sponge for example, can also be used simultaneously in a cleaning cycle.
- a mixture of, for example, several rubber balls and pieces of sponge can also be mixed with a rotating golf club head be swirled around by the water flow in the cleaning chamber.
- the pressurized water system has at least one additional nozzle, which is arranged in a second nozzle level above the first nozzle level and introduces another water jet into the cleaning chamber in such a way that a further eddy-like water flow forms over the first eddy-like water flow .
- At least one such additional nozzle offers the particular advantage that a further turbulent water flow can form in the cleaning chamber as a result of the additional water jet injected by it. This is in a layer above the first vortex-like water flow, preferably in the upper area of a golf club head or slightly above it. Turbulence can thus be encouraged to develop in a vertical direction, i.e. from the head to the sole of a golf club head and thus in the axis of the clubstick. These bring about a particularly intensive internal mixing of the cleaning water and offers the special advantage that the cleaning effect and cleaning speed that can be achieved with the invention can be further increased by the double layering with two eddy currents.
- the two water flows can also be spatially offset relative to one another.
- the two causative water jets can be graduated in such a way that, for example, the second, upper water flow is introduced with a lower water volume and somewhat reduced pressure compared to the first, lower water flow.
- the turbulence of the two water currents can also be used differently.
- the first, lower water flow can act primarily as a rotational drive of a golf club head.
- the second, upper water flow can primarily act on floating cleaning bodies that may also be located in the cleaning chamber and turbulently swirl them separately. This effect can be further parameterized by an application-dependent selection of the type, design and/or quantity of the cleaning floats used and a possible mixture thereof.
- a golf club head and possibly several cleaning floats of different types then circle particularly unevenly in the cleaning chamber. While in such a case a golf club head is driven by the first water flow, for example at a high rotational speed, a spherical all-round brush, for example, as a cleaning floating body, is also set in a medium self-rotation by the second water flow, depending on its dimensions and weight, and in a random manner inside the thrown around the entire cleaning chamber. This comes into contact with all areas of the surface of a rotating golf club head.
- the pressurized water system has at least one pair of additional nozzles which are arranged approximately radially opposite one another in the second nozzle plane on the cleaning chamber and are aligned in such a way that the water jets generated by them are introduced into the cleaning chamber without colliding.
- the structure of this embodiment is comparable to the pair of nozzles, which are also arranged approximately radially opposite one another in the first nozzle level on the cleaning chamber and are aligned in such a way that the water jets generated by them are introduced into the cleaning chamber without collision.
- the water jets of the two further nozzles can be introduced without collision, i.e. without a common point of impingement or intersection in the cleaning chamber.
- the two nozzles are arranged in the shared second nozzle plane lying on the walls of the cleaning chamber, lying approximately radially opposite one another. This makes it possible for the two water jets to be injected into the cleaning chamber approximately parallel and in opposite directions to one another.
- these form a second eddy-like water flow, which lies above the first eddy-like water flow in the cleaning chamber, as has already been explained above using the example of the one further nozzle.
- the interaction of the two other nozzles causes a particularly violent turbulence of cleaning water. Its turbulence creates a particularly intensive cleaning effect on the surfaces of a golf club head and propels additional cleaning floats around in a particularly random manner inside the entire cleaning chamber.
- the cleaning chamber has an annular wall.
- the wall advantageously forms a closed, circular flow surface.
- the pressurized water system can form a fast, eddy-like water flow in the water bath without hindrance. This can assume a high flow rate and have a large kinetic energy. With this, a golf club head with a higher own weight can also be set in a fast rotation.
- the device has an impact surface for a water jet on the inner surface of the wall.
- a region on the inner surface of the wall is particularly advantageously designed as an impact surface.
- the water jet injected, in particular, by a nozzle of the pressurized water system is aligned with these and impinges at a preferably oblique angle.
- a particularly advantageous deflection and distribution of the water jet introduced into the cleaning chamber and the formation of a particularly turbulent vortex-like water flow are thus brought about.
- An impact surface is preferably characterized in that the inner surface of the wall is closed as homogeneously and evenly as possible in this area.
- the rebound effect and rebound direction of an impinging water jet can also be influenced by local surface structures, e.g. small depressions or elevations on the inner surface of the wall.
- Such an impact surface is also placed as far away as possible from any additional drainage openings that may be present for the cleaning water. In this way it can be avoided that water jetted into the cleaning chamber, e.g. exits directly through an outlet opening and is lost before it can have a cleaning effect on a club head.
- the device has at least one peripheral support ring along the inner surface of the wall.
- Such an embodiment has the particular advantage that the head of a golf club, in particular, cannot come into direct contact with the wall of the cleaning chamber during rotation and rub against it. Rather, a front edge of a golf club head in particular, preferably the front edge lying at the transition into the club shaft, can be intercepted by the support ring in the event of too close an approach to the cleaning chamber wall during rotation.
- Further support rings can preferably be arranged distributed on the inner wall of the cleaning chamber in such a way that the lower area of a racket shaft in particular can also be intercepted in the event of the cleaning chamber wall coming too close. The risk of damage to a golf club head and/or the associated club shaft during rapid rotation in the bowl-shaped cleaning chamber can thus be reduced.
- the support ring can preferably consist of a soft, elastic material. This allows the surfaces of particularly sensitive golf clubs, e.g. clubs made of wood-like materials, to be protected from damage.
- the cleaning chamber has at least one drain opening.
- At least one advantageous drain opening in the cleaning chamber offers the particular advantage that the desired amount of water in the cleaning chamber can be regulated with it.
- the average filling level of cleaning water and the intensity of the formation of a turbulent vortex-like water flow can thus be advantageously adjusted depending on the application. It is therefore possible to avoid an excessive amount of water and, in particular, an excessively high water level, as a result of which the turbulent washing and rotation of a golf club head could be impeded.
- a targeted drainage of cleaning water can be achieved by an advantageous arrangement and dimensioning of at least one drainage opening, preferably in the wall of the cleaning chamber. This also enables a continuous flow of fresh water from the pressurized water system with an almost constant fill level in the chamber. In this way, loose dirt particles that have been washed away from the golf club head can be quickly discharged from the device.
- the cleaning chamber has a floor with at least one drainage opening.
- This design has the particular advantage that the floor is delimited from the wall by a possibly edge-shaped transition.
- the floor thus provides a distinct, deep area within the cleaning chamber that is particularly suitable for supporting a golf club head and allowing it to rotate unhindered same is suitable.
- dirt particles can accumulate on it like sediment.
- At least one drainage opening in the floor can be used to direct them from the inside of the cleaning chamber in a targeted manner.
- the shape of the lowering of the floor falls in a trough shape from all sides in the direction of its center.
- the head of an inserted golf club rests at this low point. When exposed to a water jet, this acts as a fulcrum.
- a fast and particularly stable rotation of the golf club head and of the club shaft, which in particular extends vertically upwards from it, can therefore develop about a longitudinal axis which runs approximately through this low point.
- the contour of a preferably trough-shaped depression is modeled approximately on the curvature on the sole of a golf club head or its surface profile.
- a golf club When a golf club is placed in the cleaning chamber, its head slides off the floor in the direction of the center of the cavity.
- the head of a golf club is thus located approximately radially centrally in the middle of the cleaning chamber and the shaft of the golf club is supported on the wall of the cleaning chamber.
- a water jet is introduced, this advantageously facilitates the establishment of a largely stable rotational movement, in particular of a golf club head about its own axis in the cleaning chamber.
- the sole of the head slides along the trough-shaped lowering and is guided by it.
- the cleaning chamber also has a magnet in the area of the middle of the floor.
- This embodiment is particularly suitable for golf clubs with a head made of or with a ferromagnetic material, in particular iron.
- a golf club When such a golf club is placed in the cleaning chamber, the head is magnetically pulled toward the center and adheres to the magnet with its sole. A radial insertion of the head of a golf club into the cleaning chamber is thus advantageously supported. Furthermore, the head of the golf club is held radially during cleaning, so that the head of the golf club during a Cleaning advantageously rotates in itself in a particularly stable manner.
- the device has at least one cleaning comb on the floor.
- This design has the particular advantage that the sole of a golf club head, which may be exposed to particular soiling, can also be subjected to additional, intensive cleaning in the cleaning chamber.
- the golf club head rotates with its sole over the cleaning comb in the ground.
- This has means for an abrasive cleaning action that protrude beyond the floor surface, in particular a large number of bristles. These act on the sole of a golf club head as it rotates past the cleaning comb.
- At least one cleaning comb runs approximately radially in the ground. It thus extends approximately between the center of the floor and the wall of the cleaning chamber.
- the cleaning effect on a club head sole can be further improved if the cleaning comb is slightly curved in an arc shape.
- the floor is made of a particularly soft polyvinyl chloride.
- Such a design offers the advantage of reducing the risk of damage, especially on the sole of a golf club head, for example in the form of scratches, during rapid rotation.
- Metallic golf club heads in particular can slide with particularly little friction on such a floor.
- the device has a tube on the opening of the cleaning chamber for guiding the shaft of a golf club.
- an additional tube is advantageously placed on the opening of the cleaning chamber or slipped over it.
- An open end of the tube is thus approximately aligned with the upper edge of the cleaning chamber or encompasses it closely.
- the golf club is inserted into the tube.
- the shaft comes to rest in the pipe and is supported in it. It is not necessary for a person to hold a golf club for the entire duration of cleaning, in particular in an upright position.
- this further embodiment makes it possible for one person to merely place a golf club to be cleaned in the cleaning device according to the invention.
- the device has a protective ring on the pipe.
- Such can advantageously be arranged at the open end of the tube at which the golf club is inserted.
- the protective ring is preferably made of a soft material and rises above the inner surface of the tube. The shaft of an inserted golf club is therefore not in direct contact with the tube, but rests on the protective ring. In this way, the risk of damage to golf clubs during cleaning, in particular in the form of scratches on the shaft, can be further reduced.
- FIG. 12 is device Va in a side sectional view along line CC of FIG 2 and in 2 in a sectional plan view along line AA of FIG 1 shown.
- the device Va has a cup-shaped cleaning chamber Ka.
- this is designed in two parts with a cylindrical wall K1a and an approximately circular flat bottom K2a.
- the wall K1a is placed on one of its end faces on the surface K21a of the base K2a, so that the outer surface K13a of the wall K1a and the peripheral end face K22a of the base K2a run approximately flush.
- Wall K1a and floor K2a are thus geometrically delimited from one another by the right-angled transition between the bodies.
- the head G1a of a first golf club Ga is inserted into the cleaning chamber Ka through the opening K3a on the end face of the wall K1a opposite the base K2a.
- This has a head G1a with a wooden core and is in 1 and 2 shown only schematically.
- the shaft G2a of the golf club Ga protrudes from the device Va through the opening K3a. To improve visibility, the handle at the end of the G2a shaft is in 1 not shown.
- the device Va has a pressurized water system D with at least one nozzle D21 for introducing a water jet into the cleaning chamber Ka, so that a turbulent eddy-like water flow is formed therein, which causes the head G1a of the golf club Ga to rotate.
- the pressurized water system D is shown only schematically in the figures. In particular, to improve the visibility on the representation of Feed lines to the nozzles omitted.
- the nozzle D21 is arranged off-center on the cleaning chamber Ka. This means that the nozzle D21 does not introduce radially into the cleaning chamber Ka, but is directed obliquely past the central axis Z of the device Va onto the inner surface K12a of the wall K1a.
- the nozzle D21 is thus aligned approximately tangentially to the wall K1a of the cleaning chamber Ka.
- a water jet introduced in this way is deflected by the inclined inner surface K12a of the wall K1a and flows along it, so that a turbulent vortex-like water flow forms in the cleaning chamber Ka.
- the oblique arrangement of the nozzle D21 through the wall K1a is shown in the top view in 2 clearly visible.
- the nozzle D21 introduces the cleaning chamber Ka through the wall K1a and is supplied with water from outside the device Va.
- the nozzle is arranged in the area of the opening and introduces into the cleaning chamber at an angle from above.
- the pressurized water system D advantageously has at least one pair D2 of opposing nozzles D21, D22, which form a first lower nozzle level L.
- the nozzle D22 is arranged approximately point-symmetrically to the nozzle D21 about the central axis Z.
- the nozzle D22 is also arranged off-center on the cleaning chamber Ka and introduces on the other side of the central axis Z in the opposite direction to the nozzle D21. This is particularly in 2 recognizable.
- a particularly turbulent and vortex-like flow of water is thus advantageously achieved in the cleaning chamber Va.
- the nozzles D21, D22 are arranged at the same height and thus form a lower pair of nozzles D2 on a first lower nozzle level L.
- nozzles D21, D22 introduce into the cleaning chamber Ka approximately at the height of the head G1a of the golf club Ga .
- This is particularly in 1 recognizable.
- three or more nozzles are arranged on one nozzle level, which discharge into the cleaning chamber in a star shape.
- the cleaning chamber Ka advantageously has at least one drain opening K11a in the ring-shaped closed wall K1a.
- the wall K1a has a multiplicity of drainage openings K11a, which are made in a regular surface pattern as continuous openings in the wall K1a, so that water can exit from the cleaning chamber Ka to the outside through these. It is thus possible to regulate the amount of water in the cleaning chamber Ka and to discharge dirt washed off the head of a golf club out of the device.
- only the wall K1a has drain openings K11a.
- the bottom K2a is approximately flat with a closed surface K21a.
- the lowest drainage openings K11a are introduced into the wall K1a approximately at the level of the first lower nozzle level L.
- a water bed forms on the floor K2a up to almost the first lower nozzle level L, which gives the head G1a of the golf club Ga buoyancy.
- the golf club Ga floats in the cleaning chamber Ka during cleaning, so that it is advantageously set in rotation with particularly low friction. The rotation of the golf club Ga is thus supported and at the same time the risk of damage to the head G1a, in particular from scratches, is reduced.
- the device Va advantageously has at least one circumferential support ring K15a along the inner surface K12a of the wall K1a. This is arranged approximately at the level of the head G1a of the golf club Ga, so that it rests against the support ring K15a and does not come into direct contact with the inner surface K12a of the wall K1a.
- the support ring K15a is advantageously made of a soft, elastic material.
- the device Va has a second support ring K14a in the area of the opening K3a of the cleaning chamber Ka.
- the shaft G2a of the golf club is advantageously supported by the second support ring K14a, so that this also does not come into direct contact with the inner surface K12a of the wall K1a.
- the risk of damage to the golf club Ga, in particular from scratches on the shaft G2a, is thus advantageously reduced.
- the second support ring K14a is also advantageously made of a soft, elastic material.
- the floor K2a is advantageously made of a soft polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
- PVC polyvinyl chloride
- the wall K1a can also be made of this material.
- the device Va advantageously has at least one loose cleaning floating body R in the cleaning chamber Ka. This is placed unfixed in the cleaning chamber and can therefore be freely moved in it.
- the cleaning floating body R is swept along by the turbulent, eddy-like further water flow in the cleaning chamber Ka and washes around the head G1a of the golf club Ga.
- the striking surface G11a of the head G1a des Golf club Ga with longitudinal grooves, called grooves, which may be incorporated therein, can be effectively cleaned in this way.
- the cleaning floating body R is advantageously designed as a piece of sponge R1.
- This is in the 1 and 2 shown only schematically as a circle and can have a variety of geometries.
- the piece of sponge R1 is at least partially elastically deformable and thus nestles against a surface to be cleaned and enables gentle abrasive cleaning of the respective surface.
- the piece of sponge R1 is particularly advantageously designed as a ball made of spongy, vulcanized natural rubber.
- Such an advantageous floating cleaning body has a slight buoyancy even when it is saturated, so that it floats almost in the area of the water surface and is entrained and submerged by the further turbulent eddy-like water flow.
- a large number of pieces of sponge are arranged in the cleaning chamber as cleaning floating bodies. The cleaning effect of a device according to the invention can thus be further improved.
- the pressurized water system D advantageously has at least one additional nozzle D11 for introducing an additional jet of water into the cleaning chamber Ka, so that an additional turbulent eddy-like water flow is formed therein, which entrains the floating cleaning body R.
- the other nozzle D11 is also arranged eccentrically on the cleaning chamber Ka in the manner already described.
- the additional nozzle D11 is arranged above the nozzle D21 for the head G1a of the golf club Ga and thus generates another water flow for the cleaning floating body R in the cleaning chamber Ka, which flows above the water flow for the head G1a of the golf club Ga. It is thus advantageously possible to generate different water currents for golf clubs and cleaning floats and in particular to change the turbulence and relative speed between them. It is thus advantageously possible to adjust the cleaning effect of a device according to the invention.
- the pressurized water system D also advantageously has at least one pair D1 of further nozzles D11, D12 lying opposite one another, which form a second upper nozzle plane H.
- the device Va has a second further nozzle D12 which is arranged opposite the further nozzle D11.
- the other nozzles D11, D12 thus form an upper nozzle pair D1, which is arranged on the second nozzle level H above the first nozzle level L. This is particularly in 1 recognizable.
- the other nozzles D11, D12 are also arranged oppositely and eccentrically on the cleaning chamber Ka, as already explained in relation to the nozzles D21, D22.
- the nozzles of the upper nozzle level H and the lower nozzle level L are not arranged directly one above the other, but rotated about the central axis Z one above the other. This is particularly in 2 evident.
- nozzles are shown only schematically in the figures. These can easily be formed by a cut-off hose end. However, the nozzles can also be designed as a separate component and have a narrowed, round, oval or flat nozzle cross section. In the figures, the nozzles run approximately flush with the inner surface of the wall of the cleaning chamber. However, the nozzles can also be set back from this inner surface or project beyond it into the cleaning chamber.
- the device Va advantageously has a tube S at the opening K3a of the cleaning chamber Ka for guiding the shaft G2a of the first golf club Ga.
- One of the end faces of the tube S is attached to the opening, so that the head G1a of a golf club Ga is inserted through the tube S into the cleaning chamber Ka.
- the entire cleaning chamber Ka is arranged inside the pipe S in the present exemplary embodiment.
- Wall K1a and bottom K2a are introduced into the tube S in the area of the second end face S3 of the latter, so that the outer face K13a of the wall K1a and the circumferential end face K22a of the bottom K2a rest against the inner face S1 of the tube S.
- the bottom K2a has a base ring K23a, which also bears against the inner surface S1 of the tube S.
- the pipe S has at least one, in the present exemplary embodiment a large number of, through-openings S4. These are aligned with the drain openings K11a of the wall K1a, so that water can flow out of the cleaning chamber Ka to the outside.
- the tube S can be made of metal in order to improve the stability of the device Va.
- the tube S and the shaft G2a of the golf club Ga arranged therein are shown shortened only in sections.
- the device Va also advantageously has a protective ring S5 on the pipe S. This is arranged on the first end face S2 of the pipe S opposite the cleaning chamber Ka.
- the protective ring S5 is made of a soft material, covers the front surface S2 and rises above the inner surface S1 of the tube S.
- the shaft G2a of the golf club Ga is thus supported again in its upper area.
- the protective ring S5 advantageously reduces the risk of damage to the shaft G2a of the golf club Ga, in particular in the form of scratches on the shaft G2a.
- An advantageous first device Va designed according to the invention with a first cleaning chamber Ka according to FIG 1 and 2 is particularly suitable for cleaning the head of a golf club with a wood core.
- a first golf club Ga to be cleaned can thus in particular be a so-called driver, a so-called fairway club or a so-called hybrid club.

- the second device Vb for cleaning the head of a golf club has a second cup-shaped cleaning chamber Kb.
- This also has a cylindrical, ring-shaped closed wall K1b, which is placed on the surface K22b of a base K2b, so that the outer surface K13b of the wall K1b and the peripheral end face K23b of the base K2b run approximately flush.
- the bottom K2b also has a peripheral base ring K24b.
- the wall K1b also has drainage openings K11b.
- the pressurized water system D is identical to the previously described device Va and also has a first lower pair of nozzles D2 with a first nozzle D21 and a second nozzle D22 on a first lower nozzle level L and a second upper pair of nozzles D1 a first additional nozzle D11 and a second additional nozzle D12 on a second upper nozzle level H.
- the detailed arrangement of the nozzles will not be explained again.
- the wall K1b advantageously has an impact surface for a water jet from a nozzle on its inner surface K12b between the outlet openings K21b.
- An impact surface is thus formed on the inner surface K12b of the wall K1b for each water jet.
- the impact surfaces are formed in such a way that no drainage openings K21b are made in the wall K1b in these areas, so that the water jets impinge on an approximately closed surface.
- the impact surface K14b for the water jet of the second upper nozzle D12 and the impact surface K15b for the water jet of the second lower nozzle D22 the two nozzles in 3 are not visible.

- the floor K2b is lowered to the central axis Z of the floor K2b.
- the trough-shaped lowering of the bottom K2b toward the central axis Z is approximately modeled on the contour of the sole G12b of the head G1b of the golf club Gb.
- the approximately radial alignment of the head G1b of the golf club Gb in the trough-shaped depression between the central axis Z and the wall K1b is thus advantageously supported.
- the device Vb advantageously has a magnet M in the area of the central axis Z of the base K2b. This is embedded in a receiving hole K25b in the middle of the base K2b.
- the head G1b of the golf club Gb adheres to the magnet M at the sole end G13b of its sole G12b.
- the head G1b of the golf club Gb is thus held radially in the cleaning chamber Vb, so that its rotation during cleaning is facilitated.
- the magnet M is spherical.
- the magnet is designed in a cylindrical or disk-shaped manner.
- the device Vb also advantageously has a first and second cleaning comb K28b, K29b, which preferably runs approximately radially in the floor.
- the cleaning combs have means for abrasive cleaning.
- the cleaning combs K28b, K29b are designed as longitudinal brushes.
- the sole G12b of the head G1b of the golf club Gb rotates over the cleaning combs K28b, K29b and is thus cleaned by them.
- the grooves K26b, K27b are arranged eccentrically next to the magnet M on the central axis Z approximately in the tangential direction in the base K2b. In this way, during the rotation of the golf club Gb, only part of the sole G12b of the head G1b of the golf club Gb is in engagement with a cleaning comb, so that the risk of the rotation of the golf club Gb being braked undesirably is advantageously reduced.
- a cleaning comb can also have a type of wiper as a means for abrasive cleaning or can be designed like a brush.
- the device Vb also advantageously has a loose cleaning floating body R in the cleaning chamber Kb, which is entrained during cleaning in the cleaning chamber Vb.

- the all-round brush R2 is in the 3 and 4 shown only schematically.
- the all-round brush R2 flows around the rotating head G1b of the golf club Gb and thus enables in particular an abrasive cleaning of the striking surface G11b of the head G1b of the golf club Gb and the longitudinal grooves, called grooves, which may be introduced therein.
- the device Vb furthermore also has the tube S with through-openings S4, on whose second face S3 the second cleaning chamber Kb is inserted and on whose first face S2 a protective ring S5 is advantageously attached to the inner surface S1.
- the tube S is identical to that of the first advantageous embodiment of the invention and is therefore not explained again.
- the exemplary device Vb designed according to the invention according to FIG 3 and 4 with the second cup-shaped cleaning chamber Kb is particularly suitable for cleaning golf clubs with iron heads.

- the inclination of the nozzles on the first lower nozzle level L is in figure 5 represented by the second nozzle D22 of the lower pair of nozzles D2.
- the second water jet W22 introduced into the cleaning chamber Kb by the second nozzle D22 is inclined downwards by the lower inflow angle W23 in relation to the approximately horizontal first lower nozzle plane L.
- the second water jet W22 is directed approximately at the head G1b of the golf club Gb in the vertical direction.

- the first, second nozzle D21, D22 of the lower pair of nozzles D2 on the first lower nozzle level are rotated about the central axis Z to the first, second further nozzle D11, D12 of the upper pair of nozzles D1 on the second upper nozzle level about the central axis Z.
- In 7 is the schematic course of the water flow W2 caused by the first water jet W21 of the first nozzle D21 and the second water jet W22 of the second nozzle D22 approximately at the level of the first lower nozzle level L in the cleaning chamber Kb of the device Vb, which entrains the head G1b of the golf club Gb .
- the water jets W21, W22 of the first, second nozzles D21, D22 of the lower pair of nozzles D2 are deflected on the inner surface K12b of the wall K1b, so that an approximately circular, turbulent, vortex-like water flow W2 forms in the cleaning chamber Kb.

- the water jets W11, W12 of the first, second additional nozzles D11, D12 of the upper pair of nozzles D1 are deflected on the inner surface K12b of the wall K1b, so that another approximately circular, turbulent, vortex-like water flow W1 forms in the cleaning chamber Kb.
- the brush ball R2 is swept along by it. Due to the low weight and the large surface of the brush ball R2, this is set in an almost elliptical, translational movement through the cleaning chamber Kb along the second direction of movement B2 and at the same time in a turbulent self-rotation around all spatial axes, which is symbolically represented with the third direction of movement B3.

The invention is based on the object to provide a device with enables a more thorough and faster cleaning of the head of a golf club with less technical effort.
The object is achieved with the device in
The device according to the invention for cleaning the head of a golf club has a cup-shaped cleaning chamber for inserting the head and a pressurized water system with at least one nozzle in a first nozzle level. This directs a jet of water into the cleaning chamber in such a way that a water bath is formed in it with an initial eddy-like water flow, which turbulently flows around the head of the golf club and causes it to rotate quickly.
A cleaning chamber designed according to the invention preferably has the shape of a cup-shaped trough. At least the head of a golf club can be inserted into this, preferably vertically from above. Cleaning water is preferably injected in jet form into the cleaning chamber via at least one nozzle of the pressurized water system. Due to this inflow of water, a water bath forms in it, which floods the golf club head. In addition, according to the invention, the water jet is introduced from the at least one nozzle into the cleaning chamber in such a way that it flows turbulently around the golf club head and exerts a strong cleaning effect on its entire surface. According to the invention, the at least one nozzle is also particularly advantageously arranged and aligned in a first nozzle plane in such a way that a first eddy-like water flow is also formed in the water bath. A golf club head located in this area of the water bath is caught by this circulating layer of water and, according to the invention, is set in rapid rotation.
Even stubborn dirt on the golf club head can be removed in a very short time with the aid of the invention. Depending in particular on the strength of the water jet, i.e. the permanently available supply of cleaning water, and the injection pressures provided by the pressurized water system, cleaning times can be achieved with the invention that are significantly less than just one minute. In this way, the usual dirt on a golf club head can be removed in just a few seconds.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the cup-shaped cleaning chamber can have a round cross section and a raised cylindrical wall. The at least one nozzle can also be particularly advantageous be arranged and aligned in the wall in such a way that the water jet is introduced laterally or obliquely, preferably approximately eccentrically and tangentially to the wall, hits the inside of the cleaning chamber wall at an oblique angle and is deflected there. In such an advantageous manner, a particularly turbulent, vortex-like flow of water can be brought about in the water bath of the cleaning chamber. The head of a golf club located therein is swept along by it and, according to the invention, is made to rotate particularly quickly.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the cup-shaped cleaning chamber can be arranged at the lowest point of the device according to the invention. In this case, a golf club to be cleaned can be inserted into the cleaning chamber, comparable to an umbrella in an umbrella stand, over the club head in such a way that the club shaft is e.g. directed upwards approximately vertically above the golf club head. The eddy-like water flow according to the invention can cause the entire golf club to rotate about an axis of rotation, which runs, for example, from the club head approximately in the direction of the club grip at the upper end of the club shaft. The racquet head with the striking surface thus rotates around itself, comparable to a spinning top. In particular, depending on the dimensions and the weight of the racquet head, a pivot point can arise that lies in an area on the sole on the underside of the head, especially at its lowest point. At the same time, this can be the contact point of the club head on the floor of the cup-shaped cleaning chamber.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the dimensions of the cup-shaped cleaning chamber, the arrangement of the at least one nozzle and the pressure value of the at least one water jet generated by the pressurized water system can be matched to one another in such a way that a golf club head is rotated at a rotational speed with a preferred value range of about 100 to 200 revolutions per minute.
The invention makes it possible for a golf club head to be cleaned not only to be sprayed directly by the water jet of a pressurized water system.
A further particular advantage of the cleaning device according to the invention is that apart from the bowl-shaped cleaning chamber, comparable to a preferably round bowl with a raised edge, and its water supply via a pressurized water system, no other maintenance-intensive components are required. In particular, both the rotation of the golf club head and its turbulent flow around it can be caused without further mechanical components solely with the pressurized water system according to the invention.
In the invention, water is used as the predominant raw material. A cleaning water formed in this way, e.g. in a dishwasher, is also the subject of the invention.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, the pressurized water system has at least one pair of nozzles which are arranged approximately radially opposite one another in the first nozzle plane on the cleaning chamber and are aligned such that the water jets generated by them are introduced into the cleaning chamber without collision.
This embodiment of the invention offers the particular advantage that the water jets injected into the cleaning chamber by the two nozzles interact so advantageously that a particularly strong water flow vortex is formed in the cleaning chamber in a first nozzle level located below, in particular above the floor of the cleaning chamber. In addition, when the counter-rotating water jets hit the sides of an inserted club head, a particularly high angular momentum and consequently a particularly high rotational speed of the club head can be caused. As a result, a particularly high cleaning effect is exerted on the racket head. In this embodiment of the invention, this is caused by the fact that the water jets can be introduced without collision, ie without a common point of impingement or intersection in the cleaning chamber. In addition, the two nozzles are lying in the common nozzle plane on the walls of the Cleaning chamber arranged approximately radially opposite. This makes it possible for the two water jets to be injected into the cleaning chamber approximately parallel and in opposite directions to one another.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the cleaning chamber contains at least one loose cleaning floating body.
The floating cleaning body can thus move freely in the cleaning chamber and is entrained therein by the turbulent, vortex-like flow of water. He tumbles back and forth between the walls of the cleaning chamber at high speed and is thrown around. The cleaning float constantly collides with the rotating golf club head and comes into contact with all regions on its surface.
In principle, all bodies that are stable in a turbulently swirling liquid, regardless of the buoyancy properties of the material of the floating body, i.e. do not dissolve or are destroyed, are suitable as floating bodies in the present invention. A cleaning floating body according to the invention can thus have a higher density than water and sink below the surface of the water bath in the cleaning chamber, or have a lower density than water and float in the water bath.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, a cleaning floating body is advantageously designed as an all-round brush.
Such an all-round brush has a large number of bristles which protrude from a central region in a quasi-spherical or star-shaped manner in all spatial directions. Their surface is covered as completely as possible with bristles. Such an all-round brush offers the advantage that, regardless of its current position, the bristles can carry out an abrasive cleaning action on the entire surface of the golf club head. Furthermore, the bristles can advantageously engage, for example, in slit-shaped depressions on the golf club head. Such an all-round brush is particularly well suited to being swept along in the turbulently swirling water bath in the cleaning chamber exert a particularly all-round, intensive cleaning effect on the entire surface of the golf club head.
According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the device has a piece of sponge as a cleaning floating body.
This is elastically deformable and thus nestles against the contour of the surface of the golf club head to be cleaned.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the cleaning floating body consists of rubber.
A rubber body of this type, in particular a spherical one, is elastic, comparable to a small ball. In addition, the friction properties of the rubber surface can advantageously be adapted depending on the application. For example, small nubs can be formed, or changed friction properties can be formed, e.g. through hardening or softening of the surface compared to the material in the core. A cleaning float, in particular in the form of a rubber ball, is particularly durable and tear-resistant. It can therefore also be used for a longer period of time in the turbulent, vortex-like water flow in the cleaning chamber. For example, vulcanized natural rubber can also be used for its production. If the rubber body is also e.g. spongy during production, it can develop a configurable abrasive cleaning effect on the surface of a golf club head, which can be compared, e.g., to an eraser with a predetermined material hardness.
In practice, mixtures of different types of cleaning bodies can also be used in the cleaning chamber. Depending, for example, on the type of golf club to be cleaned, for example a metal or wooden club, and its current level of contamination, an all-round brush and a few pieces of sponge, for example, can also be used simultaneously in a cleaning cycle. A mixture of, for example, several rubber balls and pieces of sponge can also be mixed with a rotating golf club head be swirled around by the water flow in the cleaning chamber.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the pressurized water system has at least one additional nozzle, which is arranged in a second nozzle level above the first nozzle level and introduces another water jet into the cleaning chamber in such a way that a further eddy-like water flow forms over the first eddy-like water flow .
At least one such additional nozzle offers the particular advantage that a further turbulent water flow can form in the cleaning chamber as a result of the additional water jet injected by it.
In further embodiments of the invention, the two water flows can also be spatially offset relative to one another. For this purpose, the two causative water jets can be graduated in such a way that, for example, the second, upper water flow is introduced with a lower water volume and somewhat reduced pressure compared to the first, lower water flow.
Another advantage of this design is that the turbulence of the two water currents can also be used differently. Thus, as already described in detail above, the first, lower water flow can act primarily as a rotational drive of a golf club head. In addition, the second, upper water flow can primarily act on floating cleaning bodies that may also be located in the cleaning chamber and turbulently swirl them separately. This effect can be further parameterized by an application-dependent selection of the type, design and/or quantity of the cleaning floats used and a possible mixture thereof.
These effects can be promoted in particular if there are gradients in the horizontal and/or vertical direction between the two water flows. A golf club head and possibly several cleaning floats of different types then circle particularly unevenly in the cleaning chamber.
The interaction according to the invention of cleaning water turbulence, the rapid rotation of the racquet head and the turbulence of cleaning floating bodies that may also be located in the cleaning chamber results in a particularly good cleaning effect and short cleaning times.
According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the pressurized water system has at least one pair of additional nozzles which are arranged approximately radially opposite one another in the second nozzle plane on the cleaning chamber and are aligned in such a way that the water jets generated by them are introduced into the cleaning chamber without colliding.
The structure of this embodiment is comparable to the pair of nozzles, which are also arranged approximately radially opposite one another in the first nozzle level on the cleaning chamber and are aligned in such a way that the water jets generated by them are introduced into the cleaning chamber without collision. In this embodiment of the invention, too, the water jets of the two further nozzles can be introduced without collision, i.e. without a common point of impingement or intersection in the cleaning chamber. In addition, the two nozzles are arranged in the shared second nozzle plane lying on the walls of the cleaning chamber, lying approximately radially opposite one another. This makes it possible for the two water jets to be injected into the cleaning chamber approximately parallel and in opposite directions to one another.
In a particularly advantageous manner, these form a second eddy-like water flow, which lies above the first eddy-like water flow in the cleaning chamber, as has already been explained above using the example of the one further nozzle. The interaction of the two other nozzles causes a particularly violent turbulence of cleaning water. Its turbulence creates a particularly intensive cleaning effect on the surfaces of a golf club head and propels additional cleaning floats around in a particularly random manner inside the entire cleaning chamber.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the cleaning chamber has an annular wall.
In this case, the wall advantageously forms a closed, circular flow surface. The pressurized water system can form a fast, eddy-like water flow in the water bath without hindrance. This can assume a high flow rate and have a large kinetic energy. With this, a golf club head with a higher own weight can also be set in a fast rotation.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the device has an impact surface for a water jet on the inner surface of the wall.
A region on the inner surface of the wall is particularly advantageously designed as an impact surface. The water jet injected, in particular, by a nozzle of the pressurized water system is aligned with these and impinges at a preferably oblique angle. A particularly advantageous deflection and distribution of the water jet introduced into the cleaning chamber and the formation of a particularly turbulent vortex-like water flow are thus brought about.
An impact surface is preferably characterized in that the inner surface of the wall is closed as homogeneously and evenly as possible in this area. The rebound effect and rebound direction of an impinging water jet can also be influenced by local surface structures, e.g. small depressions or elevations on the inner surface of the wall.
Such an impact surface is also placed as far away as possible from any additional drainage openings that may be present for the cleaning water. In this way it can be avoided that water jetted into the cleaning chamber, e.g. exits directly through an outlet opening and is lost before it can have a cleaning effect on a club head.
According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the device has at least one peripheral support ring along the inner surface of the wall.
Such an embodiment has the particular advantage that the head of a golf club, in particular, cannot come into direct contact with the wall of the cleaning chamber during rotation and rub against it. Rather, a front edge of a golf club head in particular, preferably the front edge lying at the transition into the club shaft, can be intercepted by the support ring in the event of too close an approach to the cleaning chamber wall during rotation. For this purpose, a preferably ring-shaped closed first Run support ring on the inner surface approximately at the level of the head of an inserted golf club.
Further support rings can preferably be arranged distributed on the inner wall of the cleaning chamber in such a way that the lower area of a racket shaft in particular can also be intercepted in the event of the cleaning chamber wall coming too close. The risk of damage to a golf club head and/or the associated club shaft during rapid rotation in the bowl-shaped cleaning chamber can thus be reduced.
The support ring can preferably consist of a soft, elastic material. This allows the surfaces of particularly sensitive golf clubs, e.g. clubs made of wood-like materials, to be protected from damage.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the cleaning chamber has at least one drain opening.
At least one advantageous drain opening in the cleaning chamber offers the particular advantage that the desired amount of water in the cleaning chamber can be regulated with it. The average filling level of cleaning water and the intensity of the formation of a turbulent vortex-like water flow can thus be advantageously adjusted depending on the application. It is therefore possible to avoid an excessive amount of water and, in particular, an excessively high water level, as a result of which the turbulent washing and rotation of a golf club head could be impeded.
In addition, a targeted drainage of cleaning water can be achieved by an advantageous arrangement and dimensioning of at least one drainage opening, preferably in the wall of the cleaning chamber. This also enables a continuous flow of fresh water from the pressurized water system with an almost constant fill level in the chamber. In this way, loose dirt particles that have been washed away from the golf club head can be quickly discharged from the device.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the cleaning chamber has a floor with at least one drainage opening.
This design has the particular advantage that the floor is delimited from the wall by a possibly edge-shaped transition. The floor thus provides a distinct, deep area within the cleaning chamber that is particularly suitable for supporting a golf club head and allowing it to rotate unhindered same is suitable. In addition, dirt particles can accumulate on it like sediment. At least one drainage opening in the floor can be used to direct them from the inside of the cleaning chamber in a targeted manner.
These effects can be further intensified when the floor is lowered towards the center of the cleaning chamber in a further advantageous embodiment of the invention.
With such an embodiment, it is particularly advantageous if the shape of the lowering of the floor falls in a trough shape from all sides in the direction of its center. The head of an inserted golf club rests at this low point. When exposed to a water jet, this acts as a fulcrum. Advantageously, a fast and particularly stable rotation of the golf club head and of the club shaft, which in particular extends vertically upwards from it, can therefore develop about a longitudinal axis which runs approximately through this low point.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the contour of a preferably trough-shaped depression is modeled approximately on the curvature on the sole of a golf club head or its surface profile. When a golf club is placed in the cleaning chamber, its head slides off the floor in the direction of the center of the cavity. The head of a golf club is thus located approximately radially centrally in the middle of the cleaning chamber and the shaft of the golf club is supported on the wall of the cleaning chamber. When a water jet is introduced, this advantageously facilitates the establishment of a largely stable rotational movement, in particular of a golf club head about its own axis in the cleaning chamber. The sole of the head slides along the trough-shaped lowering and is guided by it.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the cleaning chamber also has a magnet in the area of the middle of the floor.
This embodiment is particularly suitable for golf clubs with a head made of or with a ferromagnetic material, in particular iron. When such a golf club is placed in the cleaning chamber, the head is magnetically pulled toward the center and adheres to the magnet with its sole. A radial insertion of the head of a golf club into the cleaning chamber is thus advantageously supported. Furthermore, the head of the golf club is held radially during cleaning, so that the head of the golf club during a Cleaning advantageously rotates in itself in a particularly stable manner.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the device has at least one cleaning comb on the floor.
This design has the particular advantage that the sole of a golf club head, which may be exposed to particular soiling, can also be subjected to additional, intensive cleaning in the cleaning chamber. For this purpose, the golf club head rotates with its sole over the cleaning comb in the ground. This has means for an abrasive cleaning action that protrude beyond the floor surface, in particular a large number of bristles. These act on the sole of a golf club head as it rotates past the cleaning comb.
In a particularly advantageous further embodiment of the invention, at least one cleaning comb runs approximately radially in the ground. It thus extends approximately between the center of the floor and the wall of the cleaning chamber. The cleaning effect on a club head sole can be further improved if the cleaning comb is slightly curved in an arc shape.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the floor is made of a particularly soft polyvinyl chloride.
Such a design offers the advantage of reducing the risk of damage, especially on the sole of a golf club head, for example in the form of scratches, during rapid rotation. Metallic golf club heads in particular can slide with particularly little friction on such a floor.
According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the device has a tube on the opening of the cleaning chamber for guiding the shaft of a golf club.
In such an embodiment, an additional tube is advantageously placed on the opening of the cleaning chamber or slipped over it. An open end of the tube is thus approximately aligned with the upper edge of the cleaning chamber or encompasses it closely. To insert the head of a golf club into the cleaning chamber, the golf club is inserted into the tube. The shaft comes to rest in the pipe and is supported in it. It is not necessary for a person to hold a golf club for the entire duration of cleaning, in particular in an upright position. On the contrary, this further embodiment makes it possible for one person to merely place a golf club to be cleaned in the cleaning device according to the invention.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the device has a protective ring on the pipe.
Such can advantageously be arranged at the open end of the tube at which the golf club is inserted. The protective ring is preferably made of a soft material and rises above the inner surface of the tube. The shaft of an inserted golf club is therefore not in direct contact with the tube, but rests on the protective ring. In this way, the risk of damage to golf clubs during cleaning, in particular in the form of scratches on the shaft, can be further reduced.

According to the invention, the device Va has a cup-shaped cleaning chamber Ka. In the present exemplary embodiment, this is designed in two parts with a cylindrical wall K1a and an approximately circular flat bottom K2a. The wall K1a is placed on one of its end faces on the surface K21a of the base K2a, so that the outer surface K13a of the wall K1a and the peripheral end face K22a of the base K2a run approximately flush.
Wall K1a and floor K2a are thus geometrically delimited from one another by the right-angled transition between the bodies. Another advantageous embodiment of the invention, in which the cleaning chamber is hemispherical in shape with a continuous transition between wall and floor, is not shown separately in the figures.
According to the invention, the device Va has a pressurized water system D with at least one nozzle D21 for introducing a water jet into the cleaning chamber Ka, so that a turbulent eddy-like water flow is formed therein, which causes the head G1a of the golf club Ga to rotate.
In the present exemplary embodiment, the nozzle D21 introduces the cleaning chamber Ka through the wall K1a and is supplied with water from outside the device Va. In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the nozzle is arranged in the area of the opening and introduces into the cleaning chamber at an angle from above.
The cleaning chamber Ka advantageously has at least one drain opening K11a in the ring-shaped closed wall K1a. In the present exemplary embodiment, the wall K1a has a multiplicity of drainage openings K11a, which are made in a regular surface pattern as continuous openings in the wall K1a, so that water can exit from the cleaning chamber Ka to the outside through these. It is thus possible to regulate the amount of water in the cleaning chamber Ka and to discharge dirt washed off the head of a golf club out of the device. in the present exemplary embodiment, only the wall K1a has drain openings K11a. The bottom K2a is approximately flat with a closed surface K21a.
To further reduce the risk of scratches, the device Va advantageously has at least one circumferential support ring K15a along the inner surface K12a of the wall K1a. This is arranged approximately at the level of the head G1a of the golf club Ga, so that it rests against the support ring K15a and does not come into direct contact with the inner surface K12a of the wall K1a. The support ring K15a is advantageously made of a soft, elastic material. In the illustrated embodiment, the device Va has a second support ring K14a in the area of the opening K3a of the cleaning chamber Ka. The shaft G2a of the golf club is advantageously supported by the second support ring K14a, so that this also does not come into direct contact with the inner surface K12a of the wall K1a. The risk of damage to the golf club Ga, in particular from scratches on the shaft G2a, is thus advantageously reduced. The second support ring K14a is also advantageously made of a soft, elastic material.
To further reduce the risk of scratches, the floor K2a is advantageously made of a soft polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The wall K1a can also be made of this material.
The device Va advantageously has at least one loose cleaning floating body R in the cleaning chamber Ka. This is placed unfixed in the cleaning chamber and can therefore be freely moved in it. The cleaning floating body R is swept along by the turbulent, eddy-like further water flow in the cleaning chamber Ka and washes around the head G1a of the golf club Ga. In addition to the washing away cleaning effect, there is advantageously an abrasive cleaning of the head G1a of the golf club Ga. In particular the striking surface G11a of the head G1a des Golf club Ga with longitudinal grooves, called grooves, which may be incorporated therein, can be effectively cleaned in this way.
The pressurized water system D advantageously has at least one additional nozzle D11 for introducing an additional jet of water into the cleaning chamber Ka, so that an additional turbulent eddy-like water flow is formed therein, which entrains the floating cleaning body R. The other nozzle D11 is also arranged eccentrically on the cleaning chamber Ka in the manner already described. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the additional nozzle D11 is arranged above the nozzle D21 for the head G1a of the golf club Ga and thus generates another water flow for the cleaning floating body R in the cleaning chamber Ka, which flows above the water flow for the head G1a of the golf club Ga. It is thus advantageously possible to generate different water currents for golf clubs and cleaning floats and in particular to change the turbulence and relative speed between them. It is thus advantageously possible to adjust the cleaning effect of a device according to the invention.
All nozzles are shown only schematically in the figures.
The device Va advantageously has a tube S at the opening K3a of the cleaning chamber Ka for guiding the shaft G2a of the first golf club Ga. One of the end faces of the tube S is attached to the opening, so that the head G1a of a golf club Ga is inserted through the tube S into the cleaning chamber Ka. The entire cleaning chamber Ka is arranged inside the pipe S in the present exemplary embodiment. Wall K1a and bottom K2a are introduced into the tube S in the area of the second end face S3 of the latter, so that the outer face K13a of the wall K1a and the circumferential end face K22a of the bottom K2a rest against the inner face S1 of the tube S. For stable storage within the tube S, the bottom K2a has a base ring K23a, which also bears against the inner surface S1 of the tube S. The pipe S has at least one, in the present exemplary embodiment a large number of, through-openings S4. These are aligned with the drain openings K11a of the wall K1a, so that water can flow out of the cleaning chamber Ka to the outside. The tube S can be made of metal in order to improve the stability of the device Va. The tube S and the shaft G2a of the golf club Ga arranged therein are shown shortened only in sections.
Der Schonring S5 reduziert vorteilhaft das Risiko von Beschädigungen am Schaft G2a des Golfschlägers Ga, insbesondere in Form von Kratzern am Schaft G2a.The device Va also advantageously has a protective ring S5 on the pipe S. This is arranged on the first end face S2 of the pipe S opposite the cleaning chamber Ka. The protective ring S5 is made of a soft material, covers the front surface S2 and rises above the inner surface S1 of the tube S. The shaft G2a of the golf club Ga is thus supported again in its upper area. The protective ring S5 advantageously reduces the risk of damage to the shaft G2a of the golf club Ga, in particular in the form of scratches on the shaft G2a.

According to the invention, the second device Vb for cleaning the head of a golf club has a second cup-shaped cleaning chamber Kb. This also has a cylindrical, ring-shaped closed wall K1b, which is placed on the surface K22b of a base K2b, so that the outer surface K13b of the wall K1b and the peripheral end face K23b of the base K2b run approximately flush. The bottom K2b also has a peripheral base ring K24b. The wall K1b also has drainage openings K11b.
In this advantageous embodiment of the invention, the pressurized water system D according to the invention is identical to the previously described device Va and also has a first lower pair of nozzles D2 with a first nozzle D21 and a second nozzle D22 on a first lower nozzle level L and a second upper pair of nozzles D1 a first additional nozzle D11 and a second additional nozzle D12 on a second upper nozzle level H. The detailed arrangement of the nozzles will not be explained again.
In this advantageous embodiment of a cleaning chamber Kb according to the invention, the floor K2b advantageously also has drainage openings K21b. These are also introduced into the base K2b in the form of a surface pattern and allow water to escape from the cleaning chamber Kb through the base K2b. The discharge of heavy, settled dirt from the cleaning chamber Kb is advantageously supported via the drain openings K21b in the base K2b.
Furthermore, in this advantageous embodiment of a cleaning chamber Kb according to the invention, the floor K2b is lowered to the central axis Z of the floor K2b. The trough-shaped lowering of the bottom K2b toward the central axis Z is approximately modeled on the contour of the sole G12b of the head G1b of the golf club Gb. The approximately radial alignment of the head G1b of the golf club Gb in the trough-shaped depression between the central axis Z and the wall K1b is thus advantageously supported.
The device Vb advantageously has a magnet M in the area of the central axis Z of the base K2b. This is embedded in a receiving hole K25b in the middle of the base K2b. The head G1b of the golf club Gb adheres to the magnet M at the sole end G13b of its sole G12b. The head G1b of the golf club Gb is thus held radially in the cleaning chamber Vb, so that its rotation during cleaning is facilitated. In the present embodiment, the magnet M is spherical. In other advantageous exemplary embodiments of the invention that are not shown separately, the magnet is designed in a cylindrical or disk-shaped manner.
The device Vb also advantageously has a first and second cleaning comb K28b, K29b, which preferably runs approximately radially in the floor. The cleaning combs have means for abrasive cleaning. In the present exemplary embodiment, the cleaning combs K28b, K29b are designed as longitudinal brushes. Here are the first cleaning comb K28b in the first groove K26b in Floor K2b and the second cleaning comb K29b arranged in the second groove K27b in the floor K2b. During cleaning, the sole G12b of the head G1b of the golf club Gb rotates over the cleaning combs K28b, K29b and is thus cleaned by them. The grooves K26b, K27b are arranged eccentrically next to the magnet M on the central axis Z approximately in the tangential direction in the base K2b. In this way, during the rotation of the golf club Gb, only part of the sole G12b of the head G1b of the golf club Gb is in engagement with a cleaning comb, so that the risk of the rotation of the golf club Gb being braked undesirably is advantageously reduced. A cleaning comb can also have a type of wiper as a means for abrasive cleaning or can be designed like a brush.
The device Vb furthermore also has the tube S with through-openings S4, on whose second face S3 the second cleaning chamber Kb is inserted and on whose first face S2 a protective ring S5 is advantageously attached to the inner surface S1. The tube S is identical to that of the first advantageous embodiment of the invention and is therefore not explained again.

The water jets of the pairs of nozzles on a nozzle plane are directed horizontally in opposite directions. The first water jet W21 of the first nozzle D21 and the second water jet W22 of the second nozzle D22 are on the first lower nozzle level, and the first additional water jet W11 of the first additional nozzle D11 and the second additional water jet W12 of the second additional nozzle are on the second upper nozzle level Nozzle D12 directed in the opposite direction. The first, second nozzle D21, D22 of the lower pair of nozzles D2 on the first lower nozzle level are rotated about the central axis Z to the first, second further nozzle D11, D12 of the upper pair of nozzles D1 on the second upper nozzle level about the central axis Z.

The water jets W21, W22 of the first, second nozzles D21, D22 of the lower pair of nozzles D2 are deflected on the inner surface K12b of the wall K1b, so that an approximately circular, turbulent, vortex-like water flow W2 forms in the cleaning chamber Kb. The head G1b of the golf club Gb, which is aligned radially between the central axis Z and wall K1b in the cleaning chamber Kb, is carried along by the water flow W2 and rotated about the central axis Z in the first direction of movement B1 along the wall K1b. During rotation, the shaft G2b of the golf club Gb remains oriented approximately toward the wall K1b.

The water jets W11, W12 of the first, second additional nozzles D11, D12 of the upper pair of nozzles D1 are deflected on the inner surface K12b of the wall K1b, so that another approximately circular, turbulent, vortex-like water flow W1 forms in the cleaning chamber Kb. The brush ball R2 is swept along by it.
