Definitions
- the present invention relates to an endoscope head with a housing element in which a camera and a lighting device are accommodated.
- a camera and an illumination device for illuminating and for image recording of an area to be viewed by the endoscope are arranged at the distal end of the endoscope head.
- the object of the invention is therefore to create an endoscope head in which a camera and an illumination device are advantageously installed and an inexpensive light transmission from the illumination device is possible.
- the invention thus relates to an endoscope head with a camera, a housing element made of a transparent material which surrounds the camera at least laterally and at least in sections and extends to the distal end of the endoscope head, and at least one lighting device which is located to the side of the camera and / or is arranged proximal to the camera.
- the lighting device emits light in such a way that it spreads through the material of the transparent housing element.
- the housing element thus acts as a light guide.
- the light from the illumination device is emitted through the housing element to the areas outside the endoscope head.
- the light of the lighting device can be emitted past the camera through the housing element to the outside.
- the scene illuminated there outside the endoscope head is recorded by the camera.
- the at least one illumination device can be arranged in the endoscope head directly behind the camera.
- the space that emerges to the side of the camera when viewed in the longitudinal direction of the endoscope head can be used as a light guide or for other components of the endoscope head. This enables a particularly slim endoscope head to be realized.
- Light can be emitted from the lighting device through the transparent housing element past the camera in the distal direction and to the lateral direction.
- the at least one lighting device can be arranged radially on the side of the camera. As a result, the light can be guided in the distal direction through the material of the transparent housing element. The spread of light is not hindered.
- the at least one lighting device can be spaced from the outer circumference of the housing element.
- the lighting device can be arranged either in the housing element or on the distal edge of the housing element. This ensures that the lighting device also emits light in the radial (lateral) direction through the material of the transparent housing element.
- the at least one lighting device can be oriented such that it emits light in the distal direction.
- the at least one lighting device can be oriented in such a way that it emits light in the radial direction.
- both possibilities ie a lighting device oriented in the distal direction (pointing in the distal direction) and a lighting device oriented in the radial (lateral) direction (pointing in the radial direction) can be combined.
- a light reflector can be arranged in the endoscope head in such a way that it reflects light from the illuminating device in the distal direction.
- the material of the transparent housing element can even conduct light from an illumination device, which first spreads in the distal direction of the endoscope head and is then reflected on the light reflector toward the distal side.
- the camera can be surrounded by a sleeve body such that - seen in the lateral direction - the sleeve body is arranged between the camera and the housing element, the sleeve body shielding and holding the camera, and the camera being oriented in the distal direction. This protects and shields the camera from the sleeve body.
- the housing element can consist of transparent plastic or glass. This ensures an advantageous propagation of the light in the transparent housing element. Ideally, there is no clouding in the material of the transparent housing element.
- the material of the transparent housing element is preferably not milky and not cloudy.
- the endoscope head can have a channel component which is arranged on a lateral section of the camera.
- a compact construction is possible in which the channel component and the camera (with or without their surrounding sleeve body) are arranged as close as possible to one another. This means that the components in the endoscope head (such as the duct component and camera) can no light can be directed, are concentrated and the remaining space is available to the material of the transparent housing element for light transmission.
- the housing element can fill the space between the sleeve body and the outer circumference of the endoscope head.
- the space between the sleeve body and the outer circumference of the endoscope head is thus transparent and can be used for light transmission.
- Channel elements can be installed in the sleeve body. As a result, components (such as channel elements) that cannot conduct light are moved into the sleeve body, which cannot conduct light anyway, so that more space is available for the material of the transparent housing element for light transmission.
- At least one light shaping element can be integrally molded in a predetermined section in the housing element.
- at least one light shaping element can be embedded in a predetermined section as a separate element in the housing element.
- a section in the housing element can be used to specifically shape the light emitted by the lighting device.
- the light shaping is not restricted here. Any suitable light shaping elements can be used in a suitable number and at suitable positions in the housing element. This allows light to be targeted to areas that are not available for light transmission, e.g. the components that cannot conduct light are directed past and / or directed to desired locations in the endoscope head or outside the endoscope head.
- the light shaping element of the housing element can be designed such that a section of the housing element is shaped into a lens shape. Any other shapes of a light shaping element can be used.
- the shape of the light shaping element can be formed by compressing the material of the housing element in the housing element.
- the light shaping element of the housing element can be arranged adjacent to the at least one lighting device. The distance between the light shaping element and the lighting device can be suitably chosen.
- the housing element can have a section that covers the camera on the distal side. Transparent material is thus seen at the camera entrance.
- the camera thus has a transparent light inlet cover. This light inlet cover is in one piece with the rest of the housing element.
- An endoscope can be provided with an endoscope head according to one of the aspects discussed above.
- Such an endoscope can be a rigid or a flexible endoscope.
- the invention is applicable to any type of endoscope.

- FIG. 10 shows a schematic side view of the endoscope head of the eighth exemplary embodiment.
- the eighth exemplary embodiment differs from the fourth exemplary embodiment in that a reflector 19 is arranged in the housing element 1 or on the proximal edge of the housing element 1.
- the remaining structure is the same as in the fourth embodiment and is therefore not described again.
- the reflector 19 can be applied as a reflective layer on the edge of the housing element 1.
- the reflector 19 can be embedded in the housing element 1 as reflecting.
- the reflector 19 is preferably arranged on the side proximal to the LED 4.
- the LED 4 can be arranged such that it emits light to the proximal side.
- the light can be emitted from the LED 4 to the proximal side towards the reflector 19 and reflected on the reflector 19 towards the distal side.
- the light emission through the material of the housing element 1 to the distal side can be improved by the reflector 19.
- FIG 11 shows a schematic side view of the endoscope head of the ninth exemplary embodiment.
- the ninth exemplary embodiment differs from the fourth exemplary embodiment in that the distal side of the camera sleeve 3 and the camera 2 is covered by a section of the housing element 1.
- the remaining structure is the same as in the fourth embodiment and is therefore not described again.
- the distal side of the camera sleeve 3 and the camera 2 is covered by the material of the housing element 1.
- the material of the housing element 1 is transparent.
- the area distal to the camera 2 acts as a transparent camera cover. This transparent camera cover is in one piece with the rest of the housing element 1.
- image information to be captured of the scene under consideration can enter the camera 2 from the outside through the material of the housing element 1.
- one or more reflectors 19 can be used in each exemplary embodiment.
- a plurality of reflectors 19 can be arranged in various suitable positions in or on the housing element 1.
- the number of LEDs 4 is not limited. One LED 4 or a variety of LEDs 4 can be used.
- the board 5 can be omitted. In this case, the LEDs 4 can be controlled separately.
- the LED 4 of the exemplary embodiments is merely an example of a lighting device.
- an optical fiber can also be used as the lighting device.
- LEDs 4 are each shown in a sectional illustration of the endoscope head.
- the respective sectional representation corresponds to a view from above with a view of FIG. 1.
- the invention is not restricted to this.
- LEDs 4 can surround the camera sleeve 3 at any suitable position in the housing element 1 or proximal to the housing element 1.
- the rinsing channel 12 is arranged in the camera sleeve 3.
- the working channel 11 can be arranged in the camera sleeve 3. As a result, even fewer elements are arranged in the housing element 1, which can impair the light propagation in the housing element 1.
- the light shaping elements of the seventh embodiment can also be used in the other embodiments. Particularly in the case of the light propagation in the fourth exemplary embodiment, light shaping elements can advantageously be used in order to allow light to reach the distal side from the LED 4 arranged behind the camera sleeve 3 as seen from the distal side.
- Various measures known to the person skilled in the art can be used to divert, concentrate, reflect, scatter or amplify light in the housing element 1.
