Definitions

  • the invention relates to bins for collecting waste and more particularly to bins intended to facilitate selective sorting.
  • bins In general, to allow a user to sort his waste, several bins are available nearby, each of which is intended to accommodate a type of waste. Thus, in a manner known per se, there is, in the same location, a bin whose function is to collect waste mainly made of glass, a bin whose function is to collect waste mainly made of plastic and a bin whose function is to collect waste, mainly paper. In this configuration, the number of bins is relatively large.
  • bins are also used for the collection of waste which comprise at least one dividing wall which delimits several distinct spaces.
  • Each space is thus dedicated to the collection of one type of waste.
  • one of the spaces is dedicated to the collection of glass while the other space is intended to collect paper. In this configuration, the number of bins required to enable the user to sort his waste is reduced.
  • the bin comprises a tank and a lid, the lid comprising at least two parts, each of the parts closing off (or giving access to) a waste storage space.
  • waste collection bins comprising a lid in two parts, the parts being fixed to walls of the collection bin opposite one another and meeting at the level of the separating wall when the two parts block access to the two waste storage spaces.
  • THE patent FR 3 045 020 describes a waste collection container comprising two parts mounted so as to be able to rotate at the level of the dividing wall, with two axes of rotation parallel to each other.
  • this type of bin can have a drawback in terms of waste storage quality.
  • the bins can be stored outside and then be exposed to different climatic conditions.
  • water can then infiltrate at the level of the zone at the level of which the two parts of the cover meet (or interface between the two parts), whether it is the zone of articulation of the two parts (as for the patent FR 3 045 020 ) or not (fixings of the two parts on opposite walls of the collection tank).
  • waste contained in the bin comprises paper or even cardboard
  • the latter may be altered and difficult or even impossible to use in the context of possible recycling. Waste can also rot and give off unpleasant odors.
  • the document EP 2 384 998 A1 describes a waste collection container comprising a cover formed by two parts hinged relative to each other, the hinge zone being able to be covered by a sealing strip.
  • the document FR 3 045 020 A1 describes a waste collection bin comprising a cover formed by two parts each covering a waste storage space.
  • the object of the invention is in particular to remedy or reduce the aforementioned drawback by providing a cover in two parts preventing the infiltration of water between the two parts of the cover.
  • the subject of the invention is a waste collection container according to claim 1.
  • a sealing strip is placed at the interface between the two parts so that the latter extends at least in part above the two sides located in close proximity to each other, for example opposite each other.
  • This sealing strip overlapping the two parts of the cover makes it possible to ensure the sealing of the interface and thus the integrity of the waste contained in the collection container.
  • the tank 4 comprises an opening (here closed by the lid 6), of substantially square shape (this shape may vary, for example by being rectangular for large volume waste collection bins), on its upper end, in the direction vertical.
  • the tank 4 comprises, on an outline delimiting the opening, a collar 7 which makes it possible to mechanically reinforce the tank 4, in particular for lifting when emptying the collection container 2.
  • the collar 7 serves as a support for the contours of the cover 6.
  • at least one handle (not shown) is fixed so as to allow easy gripping of the collection container 2 by an operator.
  • the lower part, in the vertical direction, of the tank 4 can be of any type.
  • the collection container 2 may in particular comprise one or more wheels.
  • the tank 4 is here essentially made of plastic, for example polyethylene, preferably partially or completely recycled, but can, according to a variant of this embodiment, comprise another plastic material or metal.
  • the tank 4 can come from an injection molding process, it is in one piece.
  • the lid 6 may comprise a first part 8 and a second part 10 closing off two waste storage spaces.
  • Each of the parts 8 and 10 can be likened to a lid, the assembly forming the lid 6 which can be likened to a device for closing the opening of the tank.
  • the first and second parts 8 and 10 each have a side, respectively 12 and 14, adjacent to the other part. This forms an interface between the two parts 8 and 10.
  • the storage spaces are separated by means of a partition wall delimiting two distinct spaces respectively accessible by the first part 8 and the second part 10.
  • partition wall delimiting more than two waste storage spaces. Consequently, the number of parts forming the cover 6 can be greater than two, the number of parts possibly being equal to the number of waste storage spaces. It is possible to envisage a tank comprising four waste storage spaces and four lids.
  • the dimensions of the separating wall are adapted so that the latter defines, in the tank 4, two storage spaces which do not communicate with each other and so that waste, even of small size, introduced into one of the storage spaces cannot join the other storage space, even when the collection tray 2 is turned over, for example to be emptied.
  • the volume of the two storage spaces can be equivalent.
  • the partition wall can be placed in the tank so that one of the storage spaces is larger than the other, for example because it is intended to receive larger volume waste or even whose quantity produced by a household is greater.
  • the first and second parts 8 and 10 are pivotally mounted on the partition wall. It would alternatively be possible, in an example not covered by the present invention, to mount them respectively pivoting on opposite walls of the tank 4 and for them to interact with each other via their free ends, the object of the invention. being to create a sealing zone at the interface between the two parts 8 and 10 of the lid 10, whether or not it is the hinge zone of the latter.
  • the advantage of an articulation of the parts 8 and 10 on the partition wall resides in the fact that the size linked to the movement of the latter is limited to the floor surface of the tank, unlike the other articulation described in which the parts 8 and 10 can pivot until they are beyond this ground surface.
  • the two parts 8 and 10 of the cover 6 can be opened and closed separately without the movements of one impacting the other or the movements of one of the parts being dependent on the position of the other.
  • Two axis supports can be mounted on the upper end of the partition wall, each axis support being placed at the level of a partition of the tank 4.
  • a cylinder is then placed at the level of an opening present on the axis support. This cylinder protrudes from the opening of the axle support 14 above the partition wall.
  • the first and second parts 8 and 10 of the cover 6 comprise fixing means allowing them to be pivotally mounted on the cylinder.
  • the two parts 8 and 10 are pivotable around the same axis of rotation A.
  • the axis support could carry two cylinders so that the two parts 8 and 10 of the cover 6 are pivotable around two axes of rotation parallel to each other, side by side or one above the other.
  • a sealing strip 16 is added. at this interface.
  • the sealing strip 16 extends at least partly above the two sides 12 and 14. This ensures optimum sealing, at least at the level of the zones at the level of which the infiltration of water would be the most significant.
  • the sealing strip 16 is an element that is at least partly elastically deformable (in particular at the level of the zones subject to deformation as is visible on the figure 1b And 2b ) and impermeable to liquids (in particular to water) so as to prevent them from penetrating into the collection tray 2. It can for example be made of an elastomeric material such as rubber.
  • the material used to make the sealing strip 16 has a relatively low modulus of elasticity, in particular in bending.
  • the Young's modulus can for example be between 1 and 100 MPa.
  • the sealing strip 16 extends entirely above the two sides 12 and 14. Optimal sealing is thus ensured over the entire length of the interface between the first and second parts 8 and 10.
  • the sealing strip 16 is attached to at least one of the two parts 8 and 10.
  • This attachment can be achieved by gluing, riveting, or any other process known to those skilled in the art. It can be performed only at the ends of the sealing strip 16 ( figure 1b ) or over its entire surface ( figure 2b ).
  • the two parts 8 and 10 can partially overlap. This makes it possible, in addition to the presence of the sealing strip 16, to guarantee optimum sealing. This partial overlap can for example be put in place on areas where the sealing strip is not present.
  • the two parts 8 and 10 can respectively comprise a tiled pattern provided over the entire length of the sides of the overlapping parts 8 and 10.
  • Curvatures of parts 8 and 10 overlapping each other are understood to be tiles.
  • the end of the first part 8 located on the second part 10 can pivot above the latter during its opening, following the shape of the tile.
  • the end of the second part 10 located under the first part 8 can pivot below the latter during its opening following the shape of the tile.
  • the two tiles have a substantially equal radius of curvature.
  • the tiles can form covering skirts of the axis of rotation A (or of the axes of rotation if they are different) of the first and second parts 8 and 10 of the cover 6.
  • the collection tray is devoid of axis support and cylinder as described above.
  • the two parts 8 and 10 are movably mounted at the dividing wall.
  • the sealing strip 16 at least partially covers the two sides 12 and 14 and a space between the two sides 12 and 14 is overhung by the sealing strip 16.
  • the sealing strip 16 is directly opposite the dividing wall. It is fixed to this separating wall, for example by riveting or any other equivalent means known to those skilled in the art.
  • the sealing strip 16 serves as a pivot for the first and second parts 8 and 10. This is visible on the figure 2b on which it is observed that the deformation of the sealing strip 16 allows the opening of the parts 8 and 10.
  • the sealing strip 16 is made up of two materials: the part fixed to the partition wall can be made of a more rigid material and the parts extending above parts 8 and 10 can in turn be made in a material having a high elasticity such as rubber, for example.
  • the dimensions of the different parts may also be different from those visible above.
