  • a foiling device for the fully automatic foiling of goods according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such a generic device is in DE 69 28 682 U described.
  • Foiling devices are used to cover or wrap goods with a foil.
  • the goods in sawn timber production companies are mainly packed manually or semi-automatically, with clips made of plastic or light metal or nails being used as tools to position or fix the foil.
  • Automatic foiling devices often use foil hoods to foil goods.
  • the foil is applied to the goods to be foiled and strapped or put over the goods as a prefabricated foil hood and then fixed with staples or nails or an additional strap.
  • the film is usually adapted to the different dimensions of the goods by exchanging the film on a film dispenser.
  • foiling devices A disadvantage of such foiling devices is that prefabricated foil hoods always require the same dimensions of the goods, which is why foil hoods do not allow any flexibility with regard to the dimensions of the goods.
  • the foil dispenser In order to adapt the foil to the respective dimensions of the goods, the foil dispenser has to be converted, which is time-consuming.
  • automatic foiling devices generally require a large amount of space and/or they require complicated and costly mechanics as well as increased processing times. Manual and semi-automatic foiling processes are not only cumbersome and tedious, but also correspondingly labor-, cost- and time-intensive due to various personnel-demanding steps.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to specify a foiling device of the type mentioned at the outset, with which the disadvantages mentioned can be avoided, with which simple, space-saving and fully automatic foiling of goods can be accomplished.
  • foiling process is uncomplicated and fully automatic. This relieves the operating personnel, since no human work steps are required for the foiling of the goods and employee costs can be saved accordingly. Furthermore, a simple, reliable and fully continuous operation of the foiling device is made possible. The automation also increases the efficiency of the foiling device. Furthermore, there is the advantage that no fixing elements such as clamps or nails are required to position and/or fix the film on the item, which enables visually appealing results of high quality. Since the space available in various plants and production rooms is often very limited, another advantage of the foiling device is that the dimensions of the foiling device can be made shorter than the goods to be foiled. Due to the space-saving design, the foiling device is also suitable for production rooms with limited space.
  • both foil-covered side edges of the item by the welding device in the welding plane keeps the processing time and the space requirement of the foiling device low, since the item does not have to be rotated or lifted for one or more welding steps. Since the grippers only grip the film at its opposite corners and pull and hold it from the ready position to the welding position, there is no need for complex and space-consuming mechanics, such as those used in articulated robot arms, and there is also a certain tightening of the film Foil instead, whereby creases and creases on the same arranged in the welding position Good are avoided.
  • a further advantage of the simple design of the grippers and the welding device is that these components require little maintenance due to their simplicity. Due to the welding of the side edges of the good, a multi-layered film on the good is avoided, since excess film does not have to be folded over. Since the respective item 2 is wrapped in foil with a precise fit, additional positioning or fixing means can be dispensed with.

Description

The invention relates to a foiling device for the fully automatic foiling of goods according to the preamble of claim 1. Such a generic device is in DE 69 28 682 U described.

Foiling devices are used to cover or wrap goods with a foil. For example, the goods in sawn timber production companies are mainly packed manually or semi-automatically, with clips made of plastic or light metal or nails being used as tools to position or fix the foil. Automatic foiling devices often use foil hoods to foil goods.

As a rule, the foil is applied to the goods to be foiled and strapped or put over the goods as a prefabricated foil hood and then fixed with staples or nails or an additional strap. The film is usually adapted to the different dimensions of the goods by exchanging the film on a film dispenser.

A disadvantage of such foiling devices is that prefabricated foil hoods always require the same dimensions of the goods, which is why foil hoods do not allow any flexibility with regard to the dimensions of the goods. In order to adapt the foil to the respective dimensions of the goods, the foil dispenser has to be converted, which is time-consuming. Furthermore, automatic foiling devices generally require a large amount of space and/or they require complicated and costly mechanics as well as increased processing times. Manual and semi-automatic foiling processes are not only cumbersome and tedious, but also correspondingly labor-, cost- and time-intensive due to various personnel-demanding steps.

The object of the invention is therefore to specify a foiling device of the type mentioned at the outset, with which the disadvantages mentioned can be avoided, with which simple, space-saving and fully automatic foiling of goods can be accomplished.

According to the invention, this is achieved by the features of patent claim 1.

This has the advantage that the foiling process is uncomplicated and fully automatic. The welding of both foil-covered side edges of the item by the welding device in the welding plane keeps the processing time and the space requirement of the foiling device low, since the item does not have to be rotated or lifted for one or more welding steps. A further advantage of the simple design of the grippers and the welding device is that these components require little maintenance due to their simplicity. Due to the welding of the side edges of the good, a multi-layered film on the good is avoided, since excess film does not have to be folded over. Since the respective item 2 is wrapped in foil with a precise fit, additional positioning or fixing means can be dispensed with.

The invention also relates to a method for operating a foiling device according to claim 10.

The object of the invention is therefore also to specify a method with which the disadvantages mentioned can be avoided, with which a simple, space-saving and fully automatic wrapping of goods can be accomplished.

According to the invention, this is achieved by the features of claim 10.

Die Vorteile des Verfahrens entsprechen den Vorteilen der Vorrichtung. The advantages of the method correspond to the advantages of the device.

The dependent claims relate to further advantageous configurations of the invention.

In den Fig. 2 bis 10 sind nicht sämtliche Merkmale mit Bezugszeichen versehen.the 1a to 13 show at least parts of preferred embodiments of a foiling device 1 for automatically foiling goods 2, comprising a conveyor device 3, for conveying an item 2 through a foiling channel 4 of the foiling device 1, the foiling device 1 for providing foil 5 for foiling the item 2 having a - in Considered the operating position - above the foiling channel 4 arranged foil supply device 6, wherein the foiling device 1 further comprises at least two movably arranged grippers 7 and a welding device 8. In the Figures 2 to 10 not all features are provided with reference symbols.

The foiling device 1 serves to cover goods 2 with foil 5 or to encase them in order to protect the goods 2 from external environmental influences. The word goods 2 designates any type of piece goods, but in particular stacks of goods 2 and particularly preferably stacks of sawn timber. The conveying device 3 conveys an item 2 through the foiling channel 4 of the foiling device 1 in a conveying direction 14. The speed at which the item 2 is conveyed can be regulated. The foiling channel 4 is the area in which the goods 2 are foiled. The foiling channel 4 can also be seen as that volume which is delimited by the conveyor device 3 and the foil supply device 6 . The film 5 can consist of a plastic such as polyethylene or of a tear-resistant fabric. In the operating position, the film supply device 6 is above of the foiling channel 4 is arranged, which is exemplified in 8 is shown. The item 2 is encased with the film 5 on five sides in particular. To put it more precisely, the item 2 is encased with the film 5 in particular on the two side surfaces, on the two end faces 15, 17 and on the upper side 20. The operating position means that the foiling device 1 is set up ready for operation and is not tilted at an angle, as could be the case, for example, in a transport state during transport.

In the welding plane 12, a film projection 16, in particular triangular and double-layered, is welded off on the side edges of the respective two end faces 15, 17 of the item 2 by the welding device 8, which can be seen, for example, in the highlighted front views of the respective end face 15, 17 of the item 2 in 1c and in Fig.1e is shown.

The foiling device 1 comprises at least two movably arranged grippers 7. For gripping the foil 5, the grippers 7 can have at least one, preferably more than one, clamping device or tongs. At least one gripper 7 can also have a clamping bar for gripping the film. The film supply device 6 provides the film 5 for wrapping the goods 2 in film. The welding device 8 welds the film 5 to the item 2. The grippers 7 grip the film 5 at opposite corners in the ready position 9. The ready position 9 can be seen in relation to the grippers 7 as the position in which the grippers 7 of the film delivery device 6 are spatially closest and in which the film supply device 6 provides the film 5 ready for the grippers 7 to be taken over, which is exemplified in 4 and in figure 5 is shown. In figure 5 is also shown as an example of how a gripper 7 grips the film 5 provided by the film supply device 6 . In this case, the gripper 7 is arranged on a movement device 21 .

The grippers 7 are designed to pull the foil 5 from the ready position 9 into a welding position 10 . In the welding position 10, the grippers 7 are spatially furthest away from the film supply device 6 in the operating state. In the welding position 10, the grippers 7 are also in the welding plane 12 and arranged essentially at the level of a top side 11 of the conveyor device 3, which is exemplified in 8 is shown. The welding plane 12 is the plane in which the film 5 is welded to the item 2 , in particular at two side edges 13 of the item 2 covered with film 5 . The welding plane 12 can be viewed as an imaginary plane which is arranged parallel to the end face 13 of the item 2, in particular in a fixed position. The upper side 11 of the conveyor device 3 is defined as that side of the conveyor device 3 on which the item 2 is arranged in the operating state, which is exemplified in figure 10 is evident.

Provision is made for the at least two grippers 7 to be arranged such that they can be moved in a predetermined manner between the delivery position 9 and the welding position 10, with the grippers 7 being designed to grip the film provided by the film delivery device 6 at two opposite corners in the delivery position 9 and from the delivery position 9 to the welding position 10 and to hold it, wherein the grippers 7 are arranged in the welding position 10 in a welding plane 12 and substantially at the height of the top 11 of the conveyor 3, and that the welding device 8 is formed, both in the welding plane 12 arranged and sheathed with film 5 side edges 13 of the good 2 to weld.

For cuboid goods 2, the welding plane 12 is essentially normal to the conveying device 3 and transverse to the conveying direction 14. In the welding position 10, the grippers 7 are arranged in the welding plane 12 and essentially at the level of the upper side 11 of the conveying device 3, in order to ensure that the film 5 during welding essentially extends to a lower edge of the good 2.

Furthermore, a method for operating a foiling device 1 is provided, wherein the item 2 to be foiled is conveyed by means of a conveyor device 3 through a foiling channel 4 of the foiling device 1, wherein foil 5 for foiling the item 2 is provided by a foil supply device 6 arranged above the foiling channel 4, wherein at least two movably arranged grippers 7 in a ready position 9 grip the film 5 provided by the film supply device 6 at two opposite corners, the grippers 7 holding the film 5 of are moved from the ready position 9 to a welding position 10, with the grippers 7 being arranged in the welding position 10 in a welding plane 12 and essentially at the height of an upper side 11 of the conveyor device 3, with the item 2 to be wrapped being moved by means of the conveyor device 3, until a first end face 14 of the item 2 is arranged in the welding plane 12, with the film 5 being folded at side edges 13 of the first end face 15 of the item 2 by the grippers 7 arranged in the welding position 10 and holding the film, and film projections 16 occurring, with the Foil 5 is welded in a first welding step by means of a welding device 8 on both side edges 13 of the item 2 in the welding plane 12.

The conveyor device 3 extends in particular over the length of the foiling channel 4 and conveys the item 2 through the foiling channel 4. The conveyor device 3 can preferably be designed as a conveyor belt, particularly preferably as a roller conveyor or as a longitudinal conveyor with a telescopic conveyor and protrude beyond the length of the foiling channel 4. The foiling device 1 can preferably have means for variable height adjustment of the conveyor device 3 so that variable baton dimensions or transport without baton can be taken into account. The item 2 is moved by means of the conveying device 3 until the first end face 14 of the item 2 is arranged in the welding plane 12 . In the case of a cube-shaped or cuboid item 2 , both side edges 13 of the first end face 14 of the item 2 are correspondingly arranged in the welding plane 12 . In particular, both side edges 13 can be welded simultaneously in the welding plane 12 by means of the welding device 8 .

This results in the advantage that the entire foiling process is uncomplicated and fully automatic. The operating personnel is thus relieved, since no human work steps are required for the foiling of goods 2 and employee costs can be saved accordingly. Furthermore, a simple, reliable and fully continuous operation of the foiling device 1 is made possible. The efficiency of the foiling device 1 is also increased due to the automation. Furthermore, there is the advantage that no fixing elements such as clamps or nails are required to position and/or fix the film 5 on the item, resulting in visually appealing High quality results are possible. Since the space available in various systems and production rooms is often very limited, another advantage of the foiling device 1 is that the dimensions of the foiling device 1 can be shorter than the goods 2 to be foiled. Due to the space-saving design, the foiling device 1 is therefore also suitable for production rooms with limited space. The welding of both side edges 13 of the item 2 covered with foil 5 by the welding device 8 in the welding plane 12 keeps the processing time low on the one hand and the space requirement of the foiling device 1 on the other hand, since the item and/or the welding device 8 is not needed for one or more welding steps must be turned or lifted. Since the grippers 7 only grip the film 5 at its opposite corners and pull it from the ready position 9 to the welding position 10 and hold it, there is no need for complex and space-consuming mechanics, such as those used in articulated robot arms, and there is more a certain tightening of the foil 5 automatically takes place, whereby kinks and folds of the same on the item 2 arranged in the welding position 10 are avoided. Another advantage of the simple design of the grippers 7 and the welding device 8 is that these components require little maintenance due to their simplicity. Due to the welding of the side edges 13 of the item 2, a multi-layer structure of the film 5 on the item 2 is avoided, since excess film 16 does not have to be folded over. Since the respective item 2 is wrapped in foil with a precise fit, additional positioning or fixing means can be dispensed with.

The arrangement of the first end face 14 of the item 2 in the welding plane 12 and the grippers 7 holding the film arranged in the welding position 10 cause the film 5 to fold at the side edges 13 of the first end face 15 of the item 2 . These, in particular, triangular-shaped film projections 16 can be welded off during the first welding step using the welding device 8 and thus removed, which is shown, for example, in 1c is shown.
