Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a timepiece, in particular a pocket watch, equipped with at least one cover which, for example, hides a dial above which a set of hands moves.
  • Pocket watch type timepieces were the first timepieces that could be used by people.
  • These pocket watches conventionally include a watch case inside which is housed a clockwork movement which drives a set of hour and minute hands which move above a dial.
  • the hour and minute hands are conventionally covered by a watch crystal.
  • some of these pocket watches are equipped with a movable cover between a closed position in which the cover covers the glass, and an open position in which the cover reveals the dial and hands in the eyes of the owner.
  • pocket watches that come with a top cover and a bottom cover.
  • the top cover covers, for example, a first dial and a first set of hour and minute hands which provide an indication of the current time, and the bottom cover covers a second dial above which a second set moves. hour and minute hands which provide an indication of a second time zone different from that provided by the first set of hands.
  • the second cover can cover a mirror protecting a decorative motif, a family photograph or the like.
  • One of these pocket watches comprises two covers, respectively from above and below, and is equipped with a pendant ring which, in the rest position, extends vertically in the plane of the face of the watch case. .
  • These covers are opened by tilting the pendant ring forward or backward from the plane of the watch case face, and the choice of top or bottom cover to open is made by the direction of the watch case. tilting of said pendant ring.
  • the tilting of the pendant ring in front of the plane of the face of the watch case causes the top cover to open, while the tilting of this same pendant ring behind the plane of the watch face.
  • the watch case opens the bottom cover.
  • the pocket watch comprises two springs which are arranged to open and maintain in the closed position the top and bottom covers respectively.
  • Two pistons are supported on the top of the free ends of the springs.
  • the pendant ring has two cam tracks which are arranged so that, when the pendant ring is tilted forwards or backwards, these cam tracks alternately actuate one of the two pistons, the actuated piston pressing on the corresponding spring, thus unlocking the chosen cover.
  • the mechanism for opening the lids of a pocket watch briefly described above is a very rudimentary mechanism, the main drawback of which is that a simple tilting of the pendant ring forwards or backwards causes immediate opening of the corresponding cover.
  • the risks of unexpected opening of one or the other of these covers are therefore very high, which can be accepted for a cheap pocket watch, but certainly not for a high pocket watch
  • There are still cover opening systems such as the document CH689338A5 , which proposes manipulation of the pendant requiring first a translation of the mobile pendant, then a limited rotation of the latter.
  • the object of the present invention is to remedy the above-mentioned problems as well as others still by providing a timepiece such as a pocket watch provided with a device allowing the opening of the cover (s). this pocket watch in a way that is both simple and secure, making it practically impossible to unintentionally open these covers.
  • the present invention relates to a timepiece, in particular a pocket watch, comprising a case delimited by a middle part and in the center of which is housed a timepiece movement, the timepiece also comprising, on at least one of its faces, a cover covering an information display device or a decorative pattern, the timepiece also comprising a cover opening device, this cover being held in the closed position by a locking spring, the opening device comprising a fixed pendant mounted in the middle part of the timepiece, as well as a mobile pendant able to slide coaxially inside the fixed pendant towards the center of the case , the mobile pendant being provided with a guide element able to move along an axial guide groove, then in a circumferential guide groove in which the axial guide groove opens, the groove of axial guide and the circumferential guide groove being formed in an inner surface of the fixed pendant, the circumferential guide groove being provided with a terminal at a distance from where the axial guide groove opens, so that when the pendant movable is pushed towards the center of the box,
  • the angle between the place where the axial groove opens into the circumferential groove and the place where the terminal defines the circumferential groove is equal to or substantially equal to 90 °.
  • the opening device comprises a pendant tube mounted fixed in the middle part of the timepiece, coaxially inside the fixed pendant, the mobile pendant being capable of slide between the fixed pendant and the pendant tube.
  • the opening device comprises a return spring arranged coaxially inside the mobile pendant and in abutment between the mobile pendant and the pendant tube.
  • the opening device also comprises a crown tube arranged coaxially inside the mobile pendant and on which is threaded the return spring, this crown tube resting against the pendant tube.
  • the opening device comprises an operating ring mounted on the mobile pendant.
  • the opening device comprises a time setting rod which is arranged coaxially inside the crown tube and which is guided by the pendant tube.
  • the opening device comprises a crown mounted fixedly on the time-setting stem.
  • the timepiece comprises a first cover on a first face and a second cover on a second face, the first cover being held in the closed position by a first locking spring.
  • the axial guide groove opens into a first and a second circumferential guide groove which extend on either side of this axial guide groove and which are both bounded by a terminal, so that when the movable pendant is pushed towards the center of the box, it is possible to move this movable pendant axially first, then rotate it to the left or to the right of an angle defined by the place where the guide element abuts against the terminal which delimits the first or the second circumferential groove in which it is located, the disposit if opening comprising a first and a second pins which extend axially in the direction of the center of the box and which are arranged with a clearance between the movable pendant and the first locking spring, respectively the second locking spring, the pendant mobile having, on

  • the opening device combines a pin arranged between the mobile pendant and the locking spring of the cover and able to be moved axially in the direction of the center of the box, with a guide element provided on the mobile pendant and suitable to be moved along an axial guide groove, then in a circumferential guide groove in which the axial guide groove opens, these two axial and circumferential guide grooves being formed in the fixed pendant.
  • the pin will only come to bear on the locking spring and cause the release of the cover when the guide element has reached the bottom of the circumferential groove.
  • the opening of the cover is therefore conditioned by prior manipulation of the mobile counterpart that the owner of the timepiece, in particular of the pocket watch, must first of all move axially towards the center of the timepiece, especially the pocket watch, then rotate. This is a manipulation that the owner of the clock piece, in particular the pocket watch, will have no trouble with. to memorize and perform and which, at the same time, makes almost impossible any risk of unintentional opening of the cover.
