Definitions

  • the application relates to a process for the continuous production of C 2 -C 4 monoalkanolamines by reacting a corresponding C 2 -C 4 alkylene oxide with an excess of aqueous ammonia (NH 3 ) in the liquid phase and in the presence of a strongly acidic cation exchanger as a catalyst, which contains a crosslinked copolymer as a carrier matrix that has acidic functional groups.
  • aqueous ammonia NH 3
  • monoalkanolamines There are a variety of different uses for monoalkanolamines.
  • monoethanolamine (MEOA) is used as an additive in cooling lubricants, as an additive in cleaning agents and cosmetics or as an intermediate in the production of surfactants.

  • MIPOA monoisopropanolamine
  • Monoalkanolamines are produced on an industrial scale by reacting the corresponding alkylene oxides with ammonia.
  • the selectivity to the monoalkanolamine decreases with increasing conversion because the monoalkanolamine reacts with the corresponding alkylene oxide to form the dialkanolamine and trialkanolamine.
  • the reaction of the alkylene oxides with ammonia occurs catalytically.
  • a possible catalyst is water.
  • Higher selectivities to monoalkanolamine can be achieved, for example, by using zeolite catalysts or acidic cation exchangers.

Description

Tabelle 1
