Description
- La présente invention concerne des câbles de communication sans Halogènes (« Halogen-free ») résistants aux hautes températures (≥ 130°C) et aux radiations (> 100 Mrad) comprenant une couche de matière isolante diélectrique sans halogène.
- Les câbles coaxiaux et à paires torsadées les plus performants d'un point de vue tenue thermique, souplesse et performances électriques sont aujourd'hui ceux basés sur l'utilisation de diélectriques fluorés de type éthylène propylène fluoré (FEP), (perfluoroalkoxy) PFA et plus particulièrement polytétrafluoroéthylène (PTFE) et PTFE expansé ou alvéolaires permettant d'obtenir des constantes diélectriques inférieures à 2,1. Ces matériaux sont cependant par nature dits « Halogénés » (présence d'atomes de fluors) ce qui peut poser des problèmes de sécurité pour des questions de toxicité des fumées dégagées lors de leur dégradation, en cas d'incendie par exemple. Leur tenue aux radiations est également très faible de par leur structure et nature chimique particulière (≤5Mrad suivant la norme IEC 60544-4 datée de 2003 et lorsque irradiés en atmosphère standard).
- Il existe également des solutions performantes non-halogénées sur la base de l'utilisation de polyoléfines comme les polyéthylènes et relativement résistantes aux radiations (≈50-100Mrad d'après la norme IEC 60544-4 datée de 2003). Ces matériaux sont également apolaires ce qui permet d'obtenir d'excellentes valeurs de constante diélectriques, de l'ordre de 2,2 pour un diélectrique plein et jusqu'à 1,5 ou inférieur pour des PE (polyéthylènes) moussés ou alvéolaires. La tenue thermique des polyoléfines est cependant limitée (≤100°C) en raison des liaisons C-H faibles.
- Des câbles de communication sans halogènes résistants aux hautes températures comprenant une couche de matière isolante diélectrique sans halogène sont connus du document
US 9,587,703 B2 - Les inventeurs se sont aperçus de façon surprenante qu'il était possible de fabriquer des câbles sans halogène mais ayant une bonne tenue thermique en particulier à des températures ≥130°C, en utilisant une couche de matière isolante diélectrique à base de copolymère siloxane haute température expansé et/ou alvéolaire et/ou sous forme de mousse. En effet, en particulier les copolymères polyimides-siloxanes ou polyarylcétones-siloxanes expansés et/ou alvéolaires et/ou sous forme de mousse et plus particulièrement les polyétherimides-siloxanes expansés et/ou alvéolaires et/ou sous forme de mousse, présentent la particularité d'être une solution « sans halogène » et de résister à de hauts niveaux de radiations (≥300Mrad selon la norme IEC 60544-4 datée de 2003) et à de hautes températures (≥130-150°C) tout en assurant également une excellente flexibilité, similaire aux fluorés thermoplastiques de type FEP ou éthylène tétrafluoroéthylène (ETFE) et supérieure à celle des polyoléfines.
- La présente invention concerne donc un câble de communication selon la revendication 1 comprenant une couche de matière isolante diélectrique à base de copolymère siloxane haute température expansé et/ou alvéolaire et/ou sous forme de mousse.
- Au sens de la présente invention on entend par « couche de matière isolante diélectrique à base de copolymère siloxane haute température expansé et/ou alvéolaire et/ou sous forme de mousse » toute couche de matière isolante diélectrique dont le principal constituant, en particulier le principal polymère, est le copolymère siloxane haute température expansé et/ou alvéolaire et/ou sous forme de mousse. En particulier le copolymère siloxane haute température expansé et/ou alvéolaire et/ou sous forme de mousse représente au moins 50% en poids de la couche diélectrique, plus particulièrement au moins 70% en poids, encore plus particulièrement au moins 80 % en poids, avantageusement au moins 90% en poids, plus avantageusement 100% en poids. Dans ce dernier cas le copolymère siloxane est le seul composant, en particulier le seul polymère de la couche de matière isolante diélectrique.
- Au sens de la présente invention on entend par « copolymère siloxane haute température » tout copolymère résistant aux hautes températures (en particulier ≥130°C, plus particulièrement comprise entre 130 et 150°C), (avantageusement résistant au moins 10000 h à ces températures, en particulier la résistance aux hautes températures est mesurée selon la norme IEC 60216-2 datée de 2005, plus particulièrement il s'agit de la température d'utilisation continue) dont l'un des monomères est un siloxane, plus particulièrement obtenu par copolymérisation de siloxane. En particulier il s'agit de copolymère dont la température de dégradation est ≥130°C, plus particulièrement comprise entre 130 et 150°C. De façon avantageuse la teneur en siloxane de la couche de matière isolante diélectrique en % massique est comprise entre 10 et 40 % par rapport à la masse totale de la couche de matière isolante diélectrique, en particulier comprise entre 15% et 30% par rapport à la masse totale de la couche de matière isolante diélectrique. Selon l'invention le copolymère siloxane haute température est un polyétherimide-siloxane.
- Dans un mode de réalisation avantageux, la couche de matière isolante diélectrique comprend en outre un autre polymère thermoplastique isolant, avantageusement choisi dans le groupe constitué par les polyaryléthercétones (PAEK), les polyétheréthercétones (PEEK), les polyéthercétones (PEK), les polyéthercétoneéthercétonecétones (PEKEKK), les polyéthercétonescétones (PEKK), les polyaryléthersulfones (PAES), les polyphénylsulfides (PPS), les thermoplastiques polyimides (TPI) et leurs mélanges. En effet ces polymères permettent l'augmentation de la Tg ou l'obtention d'une structure semi-cristalline avec une température de fusion élevée ce qui permet d'améliorer encore la tenue en température de la couche de matière isolante diélectrique.
- Dans un mode de réalisation avantageux, la couche de matière isolante diélectrique ne comprend pas d'autres polymères que le copolymère siloxane haute température et l'éventuel polymère thermoplastique isolant, en particulier pas d'autres polymères que le copolymère siloxane haute température et l'éventuel polymère thermoplastique isolant choisi dans le groupe constitué par les polyaryléthercétones (PAEK), les polyétheréthercétones (PEEK), les polyéthercétones (PEK), les polyéthercétoneéthercétonecétones (PEKEKK), les polyéthercétonescétones (PEKK), les polyaryléthersulfones (PAES), les polyphénylsulfides (PPS), les thermoplastiques polyimides (TPI) et leurs mélanges, plus particulièrement pas d'autres polymères que le copolymère siloxane haute température.
- Dans un mode de réalisation avantageux, la couche de matière isolante diélectrique selon l'invention ne comprend pas de polyester, avantageusement de copolymère à bloc polyester/polyéther.
- En effet, cette famille de matériau (polyester, en particulier copolymère à bloc polyester/polyéther) est très polaire : sa constante diélectrique varie de 3,4 à 8 à 1Mhz, ce qui va à l'inverse du sens de l'objectif de réduction de cette valeur de constante diélectrique pour améliorer les performances finales. Par exemple la constante diélectrique de l'Hytrel 4056 est de 4,7 à 1Mhz.
- Par ailleurs ces matériaux (polyester, en particulier copolymère à bloc polyester/polyéther) présentent une relative faible tenue thermique, en général au maximum 3000h à 125°C pour les TPC-ET (copolyester-éther). Or, plus la part massique d'ester augmente (pour assurer une meilleure stabilité thermique), plus la polarité augmente et donc la constante diélectrique ainsi que la rigidité du matériau augmentent également.
- Au sens de la présente invention on entend par « copolymère siloxane haute température expansé et/ou alvéolaire et/ou sous forme de mousse » tout copolymère siloxane haute température selon l'invention présentant des vides d'air ou de gaz dans sa structure. Selon l'invention, la teneur en vide d'air ou de gaz (% en volume moussage ou vide d'air) du copolymère siloxane haute température expansé et/ou alvéolaire et/ou sous forme de mousse selon l'invention est ≥ 10 % en volume par rapport au volume total dudit copolymère, de façon encore plus avantageuse comprise entre 10 et 50% en volume par rapport au volume total dudit copolymère, avantageusement entre 20 et 50%, plus avantageusement entre 30 et 50%, en particulier entre 40 et 50%, en volume par rapport au volume total dudit copolymère. L'incorporation de gaz ou d'air dans la structure du copolymère selon l'invention peut être réalisée par des procédés chimiques ou physiques bien connus de l'homme du métier tels que le moussage ou l'expansion ou par un design particulier de la couche extrudée du copolymère selon l'invention autour du conducteur central tel qu'une forme alvéolaire (ou en nid d'abeille) ou par un mélange de ces deux techniques (structure alvéolaire + moussage) ce qui permettrait d'améliorer d'autant plus les propriétés diélectriques finales (diminution de la constante diélectrique, gain de masse). Avantageusement, le copolymère siloxane haute température selon l'invention est expansé ou sous forme de mousse, en particulier sous forme de mousse. De façon avantageuse le copolymère siloxane haute température expansé ou sous forme de mousse selon l'invention est obtenu par voie physique (par exemple par introduction de gaz sous pression à l'état fondu au cours du process) ou chimique (par exemple par ajout d'additifs dans le copolymère selon l'invention et permettant la formation de composés gazeux au cours du procédé de transformation), avantageusement par voie chimique, par exemple par moussage chimique d'un mélange intime du copolymère avec un agent porogène et/ou un agent d'expansion tel que le talc ou l'argile ou leurs mélanges. Ainsi avantageusement la couche isolante diélectrique contient en outre un agent porogène et/ou un agent d'expansion, tel que le talc ou l'argile ou leurs mélanges, en particulier le talc. En général, avantageusement, la teneur en un agent porogène et/ou un agent d'expansion est comprise entre 1 et 50% en masse par rapport à la masse totale de la couche isolante diélectrique, en fonction de l'agent porogène et/ou de l'agent d'expansion utilisé. Si possible elle est la plus faible possible pour ne pas impacter les propriétés électriques, permettre la mise en oeuvre et permettre un moussage maximum. Ainsi dans le cas du talc la teneur peut être comprise entre 1 et 20% en masse par rapport à la masse totale de la couche isolante diélectrique, avantageusement entre 5 et 15% en masse par rapport à la masse totale de la couche isolante diélectrique.
- Dans un mode de réalisation avantageux, la couche de matière isolante diélectrique ne comprend pas d'autres composants que le copolymère siloxane haute température, l'éventuel polymère thermoplastique isolant et l'éventuel agent porogène et/ou agent d'expansion, en particulier pas d'autres composants que le copolymère siloxane haute température, l'éventuel polymère thermoplastique isolant choisi dans le groupe constitué par les polyaryléthercétones (PAEK), les polyétheréthercétones (PEEK), les polyéthercétones (PEK), les polyéthercétoneéthercétonecétones (PEKEKK), les polyéthercétonescétones (PEKK), les polyaryléthersulfones (PAES), les polyphénylsulfides (PPS), les thermoplastiques polyimides (TPI) et leurs mélanges et l'éventuel agent porogène et/ou agent d'expansion, plus particulièrement pas d'autres composants que le copolymère siloxane haute température et l'éventuel agent porogène et/ou agent d'expansion.
- Avantageusement, la couche de matière isolante diélectrique selon l'invention présente une constante diélectrique comprise entre 2 et 2,9, en particulier entre 2 et 2,7, plus particulièrement entre 2 et 2,5, encore plus particulièrement entre 2 et 2,3.
- De façon avantageuse la couche de matière isolante diélectrique selon l'invention présente une densité entre 0,6 et 1,1, en particulier entre 0,6 et 1, plus particulièrement entre 0,6 et 0,9, encore plus particulièrement entre 0,6 et 0,7.
- De façon avantageuse la couche de matière isolante diélectrique selon l'invention résiste aux radiations (en particulier >100Mrad, plus particulièrement entre 100 et 300 Mrad, en particulier mesurée selon la norme IEC 60544-4 datée de 2003).
- Dans un mode de réalisation avantageux, la couche de matière isolante diélectrique selon l'invention est obtenue par extrusion moussage ou extrusion d'un design alvéolaire ou extrusion moussage d'un design alvéolaire.
- Dans un mode de réalisation avantageux, la couche de matière isolante diélectrique selon l'invention est sans halogène, en particulier sans atomes de fluor.
- Dans un mode de réalisation avantageux, l'épaisseur finale de la couche de matière isolante diélectrique selon l'invention est fonction des performances électriques souhaitées (impédance caractéristique notamment) et du diamètre du conducteur central. Elle peut donc varier de plusieurs mm. De façon avantageuse, l'épaisseur est comprise entre 0,5mm et 5mm.
- Avantageusement, le câble selon l'invention est un câble coaxial ou à paires torsadées ou à impédance contrôlée.
- Dans un mode de réalisation avantageux, il s'agit d'un câble haute fréquence et avantageusement haute température (en particulier capable de résister à des températures ≥130°C, plus particulièrement comprise entre 130 et 150°C), encore plus avantageusement résistant aux radiations (en particulier >100Mrad, plus particulièrement entre 100 et 300 Mrad selon la norme IEC 60544-4 datée de 2003).
- Dans un autre mode de réalisation avantageux, il s'agit d'un câble sans halogène.
- Dans un mode de réalisation particulier, la couche de matière isolante diélectrique du câble selon l'invention est disposée autour du conducteur central, en particulier directement autour du conducteur central, avantageusement par extrusion moussage ou extrusion d'un design alvéolaire ou extrusion moussage d'un design alvéolaire. Les matériaux de conducteur central pour câble sont bien connus de l'homme du métier. Il peut s'agir d'acier revêtu de cuivre (Copper Clad Steel), de cuivre plaqué argent (SPC) ou d'aluminium renforcé par de l'acier (SCA) ou de tout autre type de conducteur standard adapté aux applications à haute fréquence et haute température pour les câbles coaxiaux ou à impédance contrôlée. Il peut s'agir de cuivre étamé (TPC) pour les câbles à paires torsadées ou à impédance contrôlée.
- De façon avantageuse, une (ou plusieurs) couche(s) de matériau(x) de blindage métallique est (sont) disposée(s) autour de la couche de matière isolante diélectrique. Les matériaux de blindage métallique pour câble sont bien connus de l'homme du métier. Il peut s'agir de cuivre plaqué argent (SPC) ou de cuivre étamé (TPC) ou de tout autre type de conducteur pour un blindage adapté à l'application et aux performances finales ciblées.
- De façon particulièrement avantageuse, une gaine externe est disposée autour de la couche de matériau de blindage métallique. Les matériaux de gaine externe pour câble sont bien connus de l'homme du métier. Il peut s'agir de copolymère polyimide-siloxane ou polyarylethercétone-siloxane tel que les copolymères polyétherimides-siloxanes, de polysulfones (PSU), de polyéthersulfones (PES(U)), de polyphénylsulfones (PPSU), de polysulfides (PPS), de polyaryléthercétones (PAEK), de polyétheréthercétones (PEEK), de polyéthercétones (PEK), de polyéthercétoneéthercétonecétones (PEKEKK), de polyéthercétonecétones (PEKK), de polyimides (PI), de polyimides thermoplastiques (TPI), de polyétherimides (PEI), de polyamide-imides (PAI) ou d'un mélange de ceux-ci. Dans un mode de réalisation avantageux, cette gaine externe est à base de copolymère polyimide-siloxane ou polyarylethercétone-siloxane, ce qui permet de conserver la souplesse et la tenue thermique et aux radiations de ce type de copolymère.
- La présente invention concerne, selon revendication 11, en outre l'utilisation d'un copolymère siloxane haute température expansé et/ou alvéolaire et/ou sous forme de mousse en tant que matériau isolant diélectrique de câble de communication, avantageusement de câble coaxial ou à paires torsadées ou à impédance contrôlée.
- Le copolymère siloxane haute température expansé et/ou alvéolaire et/ou sous forme de mousse est avantageusement tel que décrit ci-dessus.
- De façon avantageuse le copolymère siloxane haute température se trouve sous la forme d'une couche de matière isolante diélectrique, en particulier telle que décrite ci-dessus.
- L'invention sera mieux comprise à la lumière des exemples qui suivent qui sont donnés à titre indicatif non limitatif.
- Un conducteur monobrin SPC AWG19 (diamètre 0,91mm) est revêtu d'une couche de matière isolante diélectrique obtenue par extrusion moussage d'un mélange de 90% en poids de copolymère polyétherimide-siloxane contenant 40% en poids de siloxane avec 10% en poids de talc de façon à obtenir une couche de copolymère polyétherimide-siloxane sous forme de mousse de densité 0,85 et contenant 28 % de vide en volume par rapport au volume total de la couche (Ex 1 : le diamètre du conducteur revêtu de la couche de matière isolante diélectrique est de 3,6mm) et a été comparé à un conducteur identique revêtu d'une couche de matière isolante diélectrique obtenue par extrusion du même copolymère polyétherimide-siloxane contenant 40% en poids de siloxane (ex comparatif 1 : le diamètre du conducteur revêtu de la couche de matière isolante diélectrique est de 3,6 mm) au niveau de sa capacitance et de sa constante diélectrique mesurés à l'aide d'un capacimètre à eau selon le principe décrit dans Goldshtein et al (« CAPACITANCE CONTROL ON THE WIRE PRODUCTION LINE », MATEC Web of Conférences 79 01009 (2016), pages 1 à 8). Les résultats sont rassemblés dans le tableau 1 ci-après.

- Ainsi, les nouvelles propriétés électriques du matériau diélectrique selon l'invention permettent (en raison de la diminution de la constante diélectrique) d'augmenter la vitesse de propagation des signaux électriques, et/ou de réduire les dimensions (épaisseur du diélectrique autour du conducteur central), et/ou de diminuer l'atténuation. L'utilisation d'un copolymère siloxane haute température expansé et/ou alvéolaire et/ou sous forme de mousse selon l'invention, en particulier d'un copolymère polyétherimide-siloxane sous forme de mousse, permet donc de fabriquer des câbles plus légers, plus petits et plus flexibles avec de meilleures caractéristiques électriques. Plus la constante diélectrique est faible et se rapproche de 1 (constante diélectrique de l'air) moins il y a de pertes électriques et meilleure est la fréquence de coupure et la vitesse de propagation.
- Les gains estimés au niveau de la réduction de la constante diélectrique ont été calculés en fonction du % en volume de gaz introduit dans la couche diélectrique selon l'invention à base du copolymère polyétherimide-siloxane de l'exemple 1 par moussage sont rassemblés dans le tableau 2 ci-après.

Claims (11)
- Câble de communication comprenant une couche de matière isolante diélectrique à base de copolymère siloxane haute température expansé et/ou alvéolaire et/ou sous forme de mousse, caractérisé en ce que le copolymère siloxane haute température est un polyétherimide-siloxane et en ce que la teneur en vides d'air ou de gaz du copolymère siloxane haute température expansé et / ou alvéolaire et / ou sous forme de mousse est ≥ 10 % en volume par rapport au volume total du copolymère.
- Câble selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que la teneur en siloxane de la couche de matière isolante diélectrique en % massique est comprise entre 10% et 40% par rapport à la masse totale de la couche de matière isolante diélectrique.
- Câble selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 ou 2, caractérisé en ce que la couche de matière isolante diélectrique comprend en outre un autre polymère thermoplastique isolant, avantageusement choisi dans le groupe constitué par les polyaryléthercétones, les polyétheréthercétones, les polyéthercétones, les polyéthercétoneéthercétonecétones, les polyéthercétonecétones, les polyaryléthersulfones, les polyphénylsulfides, les thermoplastiques polyimides et leurs mélanges.
- Câble selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 3, caractérisé en ce que le copolymère siloxane haute température de la couche de matière isolante diélectrique est expansé ou sous forme de mousse, avantageusement il est obtenu par voie physique ou chimique, plus avantageusement par voie chimique par moussage chimique d'un mélange intime du copolymère avec un agent porogène et/ou un agent d'expansion tel que le talc, l'argile ou leurs mélanges.
- Câble selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 4, caractérisé en ce qu'il s'agit d'un câble coaxial ou à paires torsadées ou à impédance contrôlée.
- Câble selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 5, caractérisé en ce qu'il s'agit d'un câble haute fréquence et avantageusement haute température.
- Câble selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 6, caractérisé en ce que la couche de matière isolante diélectrique est disposée autour du conducteur central.
- Câble selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 7, caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend une (ou des) couche(s) de matériau(x) de blindage métallique disposée(s) autour de la couche de matière isolante diélectrique.
- Câble selon la revendication 8, caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend une gaine externe disposée autour de la (ou des) couche(s) de matériau(x) de blindage métallique, avantageusement à base de copolymère polyimide-siloxane ou polyarylethercétone-siloxane.
- Câble selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 9, caractérisé en ce que sa couche de matière isolante diélectrique ne comprend pas de polyester, avantageusement de copolymère à bloc polyester/polyéther.
- Utilisation d'un copolymère siloxane haute température expansé et/ou alvéolaire et/ou sous forme de mousse dont la teneur en vides d'air ou de gaz est ≥ 10 % en volume par rapport au volume total du copolymère, ledit copolymère siloxane haute température étant un polyétherimide-siloxane, en tant que matériau isolant diélectrique de câble de communication, avantageusement de câble coaxial ou à paires torsadées ou à impédance contrôlée.
