Definitions

  • the invention relates to a driver for a washing machine and a washing machine with at least one driver.
  • pods i.e. capsules or sleeves
  • Pods are small bags made of film filled with a specific amount of liquid detergent, which become water-soluble after a defined period of time.
  • the pods are also known as caps, duo caps or detergent tabs.
  • the shapes of this single unit can (SUD - amount of detergent that can be dosed for exactly one laundry) vary from liquid detergent encapsulated in foil to components of liquid detergent encapsulated separately in foil to liquid detergent and powder detergent encapsulated separately in foil.
  • the detergents develop their effect after dissolving the film and, if necessary, mixing components or after time-delayed dissolution of detergent components and/or powder detergent directly in the wetted laundry.
  • powder detergent it can be prevented that undissolved detergent comes into contact with partially moistened laundry, which can lead to discoloration.
  • Another advantage is the prevention of detergent loss in the washing machine's waterways.
  • a driver of a washing machine for dosing detergent and care products is already known from the prior art. Such a use is, for example, in the WO 2007/063368 A1 disclosed.
  • the driver is hollow and its entire interior is divided into two chambers, one chamber for holding detergent and one chamber for holding care products. At the bottom of the driver there are openings on the side walls through which the detergent and the care product can exit the driver. In addition, an opening is provided in each chamber in the top of the driver, which can be closed with a flap and through which detergent and care products can be introduced into the corresponding chamber of the driver.
  • a mass mounted on a spring can be provided on the bottom of the driver.
  • the chamber in which an opening is provided in the top and further openings are provided on the side walls in the lower region, extends essentially over the entire height of the driver.
  • a pod can float if it can be inserted via the top opening. This means that sufficient wetting of the pod with water, which is necessary to dissolve the film, cannot be guaranteed, especially when the water level is low.
  • the chamber which is closed by a partition and a mass, no water can enter the chamber and a pod inserted therein cannot therefore be dissolved.
  • drivers as a holding device for detergents is known from the prior art.
  • dispensers for solid or semi-solid care products in tumble dryers are known from the prior art. Such a use is, for example, in the US 4,004,685 A disclosed.
  • the dispenser is placed directly into the drum of the tumble dryer or attached to a wall of the drum.
  • some of the care product is transferred to the fabric as the heat of the dryer causes the care product to soften and spread over the surface of the fabric. Only a small portion of the care product is released from the dispenser, meaning it can be used as a long-lasting reservoir for several batches of fabric.
  • the object of the present invention is therefore to create a solution that allows reliable use of pods.
  • the solution is intended to ensure that the laundry treatment agent contained in the pod is reliably brought into contact with the laundry during the washing process.
