Definitions
- the present invention relates to an arrangement for light emission, which has a plurality of LEDs and a cover with optical elements assigned to the LEDs.
- the possibility should exist of being able to adjust the light emission properties of the arrangement.
- Luminaires are known in various forms and, depending on their design, offer various options for influencing the light emission.
- the light sources which are usually designed as LEDs, are controlled in a suitable manner with the aid of a corresponding control device in order to emit a mixed light with the desired intensity and/or a desired color point overall.
- adjustable lamps are often used.
- adjustable or pivotable spots with which the light can be directed in a specific direction.
- LED arrangements which have a large number of LEDs, are now usually used as light sources. These LEDs, often arranged in matrix form, produce a very high amount of light and are therefore usually equipped with a Coupled heat sink to efficiently dissipate the heat generated during operation of the lamps.
- a corresponding optic is then assigned to each of the LEDs, via which the light is influenced in a specific way. If light emission is to be achieved in a specific direction or in a specific angular range, a correspondingly suitable optic must then be used. It would be conceivable, in turn, to influence the light emission in the desired manner by means of additional add-on parts. As a rule, however, such reflective add-on parts impair the appearance of the luminaire, so ideally these should be avoided.
- WO 2014/086770 A1 describes a lamp with two LED boards with LED light sources, each LED board being assigned an optical element, the respective optical element and the associated LED board being coupled to the carrier of the lamp via a holding element.
- the arrangement of the LED circuit board and the optical element always produces an invariably symmetrical light emission.
- a lamp which has a square-shaped circuit board with LEDs and a translucent cover with optical elements, each optical element being associated with an LED.
- the optical elements of the translucent cover are each designed in such a way that the light of the associated LED is emitted asymmetrically in a predetermined direction, so that the total light emitted by the lamp is asymmetrical.
- the translucent cover is designed in such a way that it can be rotated in different positions and attached to the circuit board, with each optical element always being assigned an LED, so that the light is emitted asymmetrically in different directions depending on the positioning.
- the US 2014/0029259 A1 shows an LED light for illuminating an advertising panel positioned at a specific distance, or a billboard, the LED light having a plurality of LED circuit boards, each of which is provided with a cover.
- the individual covers have optical elements which are assigned individually to a respective LED, the optical elements being designed in such a way that all LEDs have the same, in particular the entire, surface of the Illuminate billboards, with the optical elements to be coordinated with the respective positioning in the LED light.
- the present invention is based on the object of offering a possibility of being able to influence the light emission in a simple manner in the case of light sources of the type described above.
- the solution according to the invention consists in designing a cover associated with the LEDs, which has integrated optical elements, in such a way that an asymmetrical light emission is effected, with the possibility of fastening the cover in at least two different positions on a carrier for the LEDs. Depending on the orientation or position of the cover, the light emitted by the LEDs can then be directed in a desired direction, so that the possibility is opened up of influencing the direction in which the light is emitted by a luminaire in a simple manner, without affecting its appearance.
- a lamp with two arrangements for light emission which are arranged symmetrically to one another with respect to a longitudinal axis of the lamp, each arrangement for light emission having a plurality of LEDs which are arranged distributed on a carrier in a common plane.
- a cover covering the LEDs is provided for each arrangement for light emission, which cover consists at least partially of a light-transmitting material and which has an integrated number of optical elements assigned to the LEDs, with each cover affecting the light emitted by the LEDs in such a way that with respect to one perpendicular to the plane of the LED axis an asymmetrical light output is effected, and each cover can be fastened without tools in at least two positions on the associated carrier for the LEDs and can be latched thereto and completely covers the LEDs in each position.
- the invention provides that when the covers are arranged on the lamp in opposite directions to one another, a symmetrical light output is achieved in relation to a central plane of the lamp, the opening angle of the light output being dependent on the orientation of the covers.
- each cover causes an asymmetrical light emission overall.
- the direction of the light output can be adjusted in the desired manner.
- a lamp has several corresponding arrangements for light emission, there is also the further possibility of again achieving a symmetrical light emission, but in this case, for example, the opening angle for that of the Luminaire to adjust the total light emitted.
- the light emission can thus be influenced in different ways.
- the optical elements of each cover are formed by lenses, with all optical elements being of identical design.
- all optical elements being of identical design.
- the covers themselves can each consist of a single translucent material.
- an embodiment would also be conceivable in which only the optical elements or the lenses consist of the light-transmissive material and other areas of the respective cover consist of an opaque or, for example, a light-transmissive but light-scattering material.
- the LEDs are preferably arranged in a uniformly distributed manner on the carrier. You can form a rectangular or square arrangement. A uniformly polygonal arrangement would also be conceivable, which would then enable more than two different positions for arranging the respective cover on the carrier.
- the lamp can also have a heat sink, which forms the carrier for the LEDs, in which case the covers on the heat sink or on a housing of the Light can be attached.
- the lamp according to the invention has several of the arrangements according to the invention for light emission described above.
- figure 1 1 shows, as an example of an application for the concept according to the invention, a lamp which is generally provided with the reference number 100 and which is designed as a so-called high bay lamp.
- Such lights are mainly used in industrial and/or hall lighting and are accordingly designed to emit a very high amount of light. They are usually used in relatively high rooms and are intended to illuminate a larger area of the room below with high intensity.
- the concept according to the invention is not limited to corresponding high-bay lights and does not necessarily have to be used in lights that have two or more light emission arrangements according to the invention.
- Luminaires according to the invention would of course also be conceivable in which only a single arrangement for light emission, which is designed as described in more detail below, is used.
- the lamp 100 shown thus has two arrangements for light emission 10 according to the invention which are arranged in a trapezoidal lamp housing and which are arranged symmetrically on both sides with respect to a longitudinal axis L of the lamp 100 .
- the circuit board 17 rests on a housing part designed as a heat sink, which serves as a carrier for the lighting means 15 and is designed in such a way that the heat generated during operation of the lighting means 15 can be dissipated efficiently.
- the representations of the lamp 100 show that corresponding cooling ribs are formed on the outer circumference of the lamp housing, with the help of which a corresponding heat exchange is carried out. However, further measures by which an optimized heat dissipation is achieved will not be explained in more detail below, since they are not a direct part of the invention.
- the light emitted by the LEDs 16 is influenced with the aid of the cover 20 already mentioned.
- the cover 20 is formed by a rectangular element whose dimensions essentially correspond to the dimensions of the LED circuit board 17 .
- a central area 21 of the cover 20 is in this case formed with an arrangement of optical elements which are designed as lenses 22 in the illustrated exemplary embodiment.
- this frame-like peripheral area 24 from a different material, for example from an opaque material.
- a light-scattering configuration of this frame-like area 24 would also be conceivable, so that the frame appears diffusely brightened, if this is desired.
- the cover 20 is preferably designed as a one-piece element and can be produced, for example, as part of a two-component injection molding process. It would also be conceivable to create the central area 21 in a first step and then to overmold this area 21 with a second material in order to form the frame-like area 24 .
- the cover 20 itself should be detachably mountable on the lamp 100 .
- Recognizable here are in figure 1 a plurality of latching arms 26 which are formed laterally on the outer circumference of the cover 20 and latch into corresponding recesses in the heat sink of the lamp 100 .
- the design is preferably such that the cover 20 can be locked to the lamp 100 without tools, although an aid, for example in the form of a screwdriver, is required to release the locking.
- a suitable sealing ring 18 can also be provided on the cover 20 or the heat sink, so that when the cover 20 is locked, it completely covers the LEDs 16 in a sealing manner and accordingly protects them from external influences, in particular from dust and/or moisture.
- a special feature of the cover 20 is that the optical elements 22 are designed in such a way that the cover 20 achieves an asymmetrical light emission. This can be seen from the enlarged representation according to figure 2 , which can be seen that the lenses 22 of the cover 20 are not rotationally symmetrical. Instead, in the exemplary embodiment shown, the side of the lenses 22 on the left in the illustration is rounded, while the opposite right side of the lenses 22 is designed to be flattened. This special configuration of the dome-like lenses 22 means that they preferably emit the light of the associated LED 16 to the left.
- all the lenses 22 of the cover 20 are of identical design and thus cause an asymmetrical light emission towards the left side. However, this is not absolutely necessary. It would also be conceivable that the lenses of the cover 20 are not all identical and each influence light in different ways. Overall, however, the cover 20 should emit light asymmetrically in a preferred direction, with this preferred direction of light emission being identified by a corresponding marking 28 on the frame-like peripheral area 24 . From the marking 28 it is immediately recognizable in which direction light will be emitted through the cover 20 .
- Figure 3a first shows the lamp according to figure 1 with two covers 20 (the individual lenses are not shown), which are oriented in the same direction on the lamp 100 in such a way that, according to the representation, light is emitted predominantly to the left. This achieves a light emission as is shown schematically in Figure 3b is shown. Both covers 20 thus cause light to be emitted asymmetrically to the left with respect to a perpendicular I to the plane of the LEDs.
- Such an embodiment can be used, for example, when the lamp 100 is arranged in the edge area of a room or a hall to be illuminated and is also to be used in particular to illuminate a wall area to the left below the lamp 100 .
- the orientation of the covers 20 can be selected, as shown in Figure 4a is shown. Both covers 20 are now arranged on the lamp 100 oriented in opposite directions, in each case in such a way that they emit light further laterally downwards starting from their side.
- the light emission corresponds to the scheme in Figure 4b , whereby it can be seen that an overall symmetrical light output - in relation to a center plane of the luminaire 100 - is achieved with a wide opening angle. If, on the other hand, the alignment of the two covers 20 is reversed, a light emission is achieved as shown in Figure 4c is shown.
- the covers 20 are used as in Figure 5a shown in turn arranged oriented in the same direction on the lamp 100, so a light emission is according to the representation in accordance with Figure 5b , i.e. towards the right side.
- the light emission properties of the luminaire 100 can be influenced in a simple manner due to the possibility of attaching covers causing an asymmetrical light emission to the luminaire 100 in different orientations. In particular, this can only take place during the assembly of the lamp 100 in a room to be illuminated, so that the light emission can be specifically adapted to the application situation.
- the invention is also not limited to the exemplary embodiment shown, in which the cover is rectangular and can accordingly be attached to the carrier for the LEDs in two different orientations.
- a square arrangement of the LEDs and thus a square configuration of the cover would also be conceivable, for example. In this case, the cover could then be attached in four different orientations relative to the LEDs.
- polygonal designs with regard to the LED arrangement or the cover would also be conceivable, with the number of possible arrangements for the cover then correspondingly increasing. It is essential that in every possible position of the cover, the light of all LEDs is used accordingly and that each LED is assigned an optical element of the cover. However, it would be conceivable that the number of optical elements of the cover is larger than the number of LEDs and accordingly individual optical elements are not used in certain rotational positions.
- optical elements do not necessarily have to be lenses.
- the light emission properties of a lamp can be influenced in a simple manner with the aid of the solution according to the invention.

Description
- Figur 1
- eine perspektivische Ansicht einer Leuchte, welche zwei erfindungsgemäße Anordnungen zur Lichtabgabe aufweist;
- Figur 2
