Definitions
- the present invention relates to a full jacket security bullet according to the preamble of the patent claim.
- a security projectile is a projectile that contains only a minimal amount of explosives and can still be used as a pure penetrating projectile, multi-purpose projectile, explosive projectile or incendiary projectile.
- Small amounts of small caliber ammunition should also be sent more often by air freight at short notice, for reasons of time and for other reasons, for local protection and defense tasks, but also for test purposes.
- safety regulations namely regulations and transport classifications for dangerous goods of the IATA (International Air Transport Association) and the ICAO-TI (special organization of the UN for international civil aviation). Compliance with and monitoring of all regulations is the responsibility of the transporters and especially the members of the IATA and the airport and customs authorities.
- a successful safety test of the transport facility according to UN recommendations is required necessary so that these dangerous goods receive a transport classification, for example according to the classification code 1.4 S (UN 0012, among other things, cartridges for small arms).
- the packaging is described in detail and the maximum amount (number of pieces) of ammunition to be transported is specified.
- the dangerous goods are also limited to a total net weight of max. 25 kg.
- the total weight of the transport equipment must not exceed 50 kg, so that there are also relatively narrow limits for protective measures (transport packaging, etc.).
- incendiary bullet is out of the DE-OS- 2 323 798 known, this contains a sub-caliber, central penetration core made of hard metal, which is encased by an incendiary material.
- the penetration core is placed on a stern part of the same caliber, which acts as a sabot and is separated at the target via a predetermined breaking point.
- An incendiary device is placed in front of the penetration core, which also serves as a hit marker.
- the projectile should also be executable as tracer ammunition.
- the penetration performance for example of a multi-purpose bullet, should both in relation to the penetration depth and the penetration diameter compared to the EP application no. 16405018.9 at least be the same or even better.
- the hole in the target should only represent a low flow resistance for the plasmas of the incendiary devices.
- the internal and external ballistics of the projectile and the target accuracy should also be at least the same.
- the projectile structure should be inexpensive and precise to manufacture from a few parts and be able to be produced in large series using conventional means and processes. It must also be possible to manufacture the projectile for use in rifle cartridges. - In smaller numbers, the bullets should also be approved for air transport.
- the punch-through core mentioned here is preferably in one piece for manufacturing and dynamic reasons, but it can also be made up of several parts.
- the transition area between the front part and the actual penetration part is designed to guide the resulting shock waves, so that when the target penetrates, a phlegmatized explosive is initiated without further aids (such as detonating chains, sensitive explosives, etc.).
- the resulting splintering effect in the front part of the penetration core allows it to penetrate massive plates with full kinetic energy.
- the mass of explosive can basically be reduced; the dangerous nitropenta, which is often used today, can also be dispensed with.
- the different transit times of the opposing shock waves are in the range of microseconds, so that as a result of the inertia of the explosive, its extremely high compression and thus reliable initiation take place immediately.
- the amount of explosive can be reduced considerably in the subject matter of the invention, as shown by reproducible shooting tests at various targets with a multi-purpose bullet of caliber 0.5, without duds, deflagrations or deflagrations.
- a simple steering of shock waves takes place according to claim 2 by circumferential notches on the solid jacket.
- a front surface that is the surface which causes and aligns the reflection of the shock waves towards the recess 5
- the upper wedge surface is preferably flat, planar and, in particular, frustoconical with respect to the axial direction (F) (weft direction).
- the upper wedge surface can be configured at least partially, preferably completely, convex, preferably parabolic (viewed from the outside of the penetration core), in order to focus the shock waves onto the explosive in the recess.
- the further lower surface of the wedge-shaped constriction can also be either flat, planar or convex, in particular parabolic.
- the alignment of the front surfaces on the breakdown core takes place in the simplest way, in that this is determined geometrically, by a center line leading to the Target point leads. - This is the predetermined point where shock wave initiation is most efficient; Claim 5.
- the double function of the first wedge-shaped constriction mentioned in claim 7 is very space-saving and has proven to be extremely effective.
- a hardened steel tip ensures a good penetration into the target, which is increased by inserting a titanium pin, like a pilot hole. This hard pin creates a high surface pressure on the target, so that there are hardly any ricochets; Claim 8.
- the embodiment according to claim 9 results in a highly effective, continuously burning marking charge and is therefore used as a tracer.
- the pyrotechnic mixture according to claim 10 results in a good target marking, as is particularly desired in the case of multi-purpose projectiles.
- the front part of the penetration core in particular a cup part with the front, blind hole-like recess for filling with explosive, and a central part of the penetration core are made, in particular rotated, from one piece, in particular a metal piece.
- the metal piece is preferably formed from simple steel without, in particular, having an addition of magnesium-cobalt.
- the middle and rear parts of the breakdown core are delimited from one another in the axial direction by the front part by the first constriction.
- a rear end face of the breakdown core has a planar or flat surface or, alternatively, a convex, preferably parabolic shape, in particular to reflect and align, preferably bundle, especially shock waves essentially in the axial direction through the breakdown core towards the recess in the front part .
- the measures according to the invention resulted in a significant manufacturing advantage in that, instead of the usual high-quality magnesium-cobalt-metal mixture, a simple steel material can be used in order to achieve the desired function of the security projectile.
- a simple steel material can be used in order to achieve the desired function of the security projectile.
- the wedge-shaped constriction or groove which separates the front part from the central part of the puncture core resulted in a concentration of the deformation forces.
- the design of the penetration core in the front part is particularly advantageous with regard to the shape of the recess which, due to the weakening of the material, serves as a desired crumple zone, which in particular makes it possible to use a simple steel material for the penetration core.
- circumferential weaknesses arranged in the region of the recess, in particular grooves or notches, are preferably provided, which can also be oriented axially or spirally.
- Figure 1 is on a penetrating bullet of caliber 0.5 whose full jacket is designated with 1; this projectile is shot in a normal run (not shown) in the direction of flight F.
- the full jacket 1 has a flattened tip 2.
- An ogive-shaped, hardened steel point 4 with a front, central titanium pin 3 is embedded in the projectile point.
- a one-piece penetration core 6 with a blind hole-shaped recess 5 is provided, the conical surfaces of which are denoted by 5a and the point by 5b.
- a highly phlegmatized explosive 5 ' is pressed into the recess 5.
- the front area 6 'of the breakdown core 6 has a first wedge-shaped constriction 10, a recess into which a socket 7 made of plastic protrudes, which surrounds the breakdown core 6 laterally in the middle part.
- the socket 7 is cut off at the rear and leaves an air space 8 free between the solid jacket 1 and the penetration core 6, which has a positive internal ballistic effect.
- a second analogous wedge-shaped constriction 11 is located in front of the rear region of the breakdown core 6, the upper wedge surface 11 'here forming a relatively small acute angle with respect to the horizontal.
- a taper 15 is provided which is useful for introducing the projectile into a conventional cartridge and at the same time is aerodynamically advantageous.
- the projectile is closed by a rear sealing washer 9, which is inserted at its notoriously known flanging 16.
- the solid jacket 1 has circumferential notches 1 '(indentations) in the front region 6' of the punch core 6.
- a customary fine-grain steel with a hardness of 57 HRC is suitable as the steel tip 4.
- titanium carbide or titanium nitride, so-called cermets are also suitable.
- the socket 7 can perform several functions, especially if it is designed as a metal compound.
- the targeted addition of metal powder can also be useful for optimizing the center of gravity of the projectile.
- the notches 1 'and the wedge-shaped constrictions 10 act analogously to the subject matter of the invention European patent application No. 16405018.9 splinter-forming and increase the penetration capacity of the core 6. On the other hand, they also serve here to direct shock waves as follows in Fig. 2 will be shown.
- the titanium post is 3 in Fig. 2 not shown.
- the central shock wave front S1 that forms on impact with the target experiences a dispersion at the transition to the explosive 5 ', with the side waves being reflected at the notches 1' of the full jacket 1 as wave fronts S3 at the same time.
- the second wedge-shaped constriction 11 in the penetration core 6 reflects on its wedge surface 11 'lateral wavefronts S2' running towards the center, which overlap with the wavefronts S1 and act as pressure waves in the explosive 5 'through the first wedge-shaped constriction 10; see. Fig. 3 , an enlarged view in the front part 6 'of the breakdown core.
- the construction according to the invention enables the construction of new projectile types with specific effects in the target, as the following example indicates.
- a sleeve 14 made of tombac which is provided with a point, is inserted in a blind hole-like recess 12 at the rear of the penetration core 6.
- a marker charge 13 which is pressed into the case 14, is ignited when fired by the cartridge (not shown) via the rear seal 9 and via a small ignition charge 13 '.
- This thermally favorable construction is characterized by an even burn over the entire flight distance of the projectile and serves as a reliably acting tracer.
- the seal 9 is then inserted and the rear side of the entire floor is provided with a flange 16, see Fig. 6 .
- the subject matter of the invention represents an open construction, i.e. it can be modified in a wide variety of ways, combined with different materials and adapted to the intended, specific application, including by means of inserts made of metal splinters. According to the model laws, medium and large-caliber weapons should also be realizable in an analogous manner.
- the cylindrical shaft of the penetration core 6 can also be designed in the shape of an ogive.
- the subject matter of the invention is not limited to police and military applications: In mechanical engineering, mining, building construction and civil engineering, but also when exploring raw materials, breakthroughs and boreholes must be continuously made, which for safety and environmental reasons are only made with minimal use of explosives should.
- the use claims 13 to 17 outline these uses, but by no means exhaustive.
Description
- Konventionelle Sprengbrandgeschosse (engl. Incendiary shell) sind u.a. aus der
US-PS 3 208 385 bekannt.

- In
Fig. 2 nicht eingezeichnet.
Fig. 4 ersichtlich.
Fig. 4 .
Fig. 6 .
