Der Vorderteil 3 umfasst einen Vorderschaft 3a, sowie einen Lauf 4 , wobei der Lauf 4 an der Oberseite des Vorderschafts 3a und ein Abzug 5 an der Unterseite des Vorderchafts 3a durch unterbrochen dargestellte Linien nur angedeutet sind. Zudem weist der Vorderteil 3 einen hinteren Abschnitt 6, insbesondere einen Griffabschnitt 6a auf, welcher zu einer nicht dargestellten Mündung des Laufs 4 entgegengesetzt angeordnet ist. Der Hinterschaft 2 kann gemäß dem gezeigten Ausführungsbeispiel mit einer rückstoßdämpfenden Vorrichtung R ausgebildet sein, welche insbesondere in einem mittleren und rückwärtigen Abschnitt 7 des Hinterschafts 2 angeordnet ist. Die rückstoßdämpfende Vorrichtung R ist ausgebildet, den in Folge einer Schussabgabe auftretenden Rückstoß der Handfeuerwaffe H gedämpft auf eine Schulterauflage S, welche zur Anlage an der Schulter des Schützen vorgesehen ist, zu übertragen. Die rückstoßdämpfende Vorrichtung R selbst ist nicht Teil der Erfindung und ist im gezeigten Ausführungsbeispiel als zweckmäßiges Beispiel für Komponenten dargestellt, welche einen Großteil des Volumens des Hinterschafts 2 einnehmen. Zur Einstellung der Ausrichtung des Hinterschafts 2 zum Lauf 4 bzw. zum Vorderteil 3 der Handfeuerwaffe H, ist zwischen dem Hinterschaft 2 und dem Vorderteil 3 ein Kugelgelenk 8 angeordnet. Das Kugelgelenk 8 ermöglicht insbesondere eine Einstellung eines Winkels zwischen einer Längsachse L2 des Hinterschafts 2 und einer Längsachse L3 des Vorderteils 3 in zwei Raumdimensionen, d.h. nach oben, unten, links und rechts.
