Somit wird die Bewegungsfähigkeit des Gehäuses 8 senkrecht zu den Seitenwänden 16 auf diejenige Wegstrecke eingeschränkt, um welche die beilagenscheibenförmigen Ansätze der Dämpfungsringe 12 komprimiert werden können. Fore-end (3) for a firearm stock (1), in particular of a rifle for competitive purposes, wherein the fore-end serves as a support for the firearm, can be secured to a main part (2) of the firearm stock and can pivot about a pivot axis extending transversely or parallel to the firing direction, characterised in that the pivot axis extends outside the main part of the stock.
  2. Fore-end according to claim 1, characterised in that the pivot axis extends within the fore-end.
  3. Fore-end according to claim 2, characterised in that it has a hinge element which can pivot about the pivot axis.
  4. Fore-end according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the fore-end is linearly displaceable relative to the main part of the stock in a direction of displacement extending transversely to the pivot axis.
  5. Fore-end according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the fore-end is linearly displaceable relative to the main part of the stock parallel to the firing direction.
  6. Fore-end according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that it can be releasably fixed relative to the main part of the stock in at least two, preferably all pivoted and/or displacement positions.
  7. Fore-end according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that it can be secured to the main part of the stock by means of a preferably columnar or bar-shaped support (18).
  8. Fore-end according to claim 7, characterised in that it is linearly displaceable relative to the support.
  9. Fore-end according to claim 7 or claim 8, characterised in that the columnar or bar-shaped support can be fixed to the main part of the stock parallel to the firing direction in at least two, preferably all displacement positions.
  10. Firearm stock comprising a fore-end according to one of claims 1 to 9.
  11. Firearm stock according to claim 10, characterised in that the main part of the stock has a pistol grip (4) for use by the hand actuating the trigger of the firearm, a protective element (25) being applied to the pistol grip in order to protect the trigger (31) from mechanical influences.
  12. Firearm stock according to claim 11, characterised in that the trigger protective element has a protective surface extending below the trigger, in particular parallel to the underside of the main part of the stock.
  13. Firearm stock according to claim 12, characterised in that the trigger protective element has no direct connection to the fore-end and/or the main part of the stock.
  14. Firearm comprising a firearm stock according to one of claims 10 to 13.
