Für eine Einstellung der Möbelteile zueinander muss also zunächst das Möbelteil geöffnet und das Einstellelement des Möbelscharniers durch ein Werkzeug betätigt werden. Anschließend wird das Möbelteil wieder geschlossen und es muss durch eine Person überprüft werden, ob sich die Möbelteile durch die vorgenommene Einstellung auch optimal zueinander ausgerichtet wurden.
