Definitions
- the invention relates to a bridle or saddle equipment comprising a multi-part bridle or saddle equipment strap comprising a first strap piece and a second strap piece, which two strap pieces are detachably connected to one another by a strap connector.
- Straps are required to make bridles and saddles. These belts are multi-part, detachably connected pieces of belt.
- a strap connector typically a buckle, is used to connect.
- the releasability of the two pieces of strap that can be connected to one another by the strap connector is required to adjust the length of the bridle or saddle strap. In this way, for example, a bridle is adapted to the shape of the horse's head.
- bridles exist for horses. Depending on which bridle a horse is to be ridden with, one decides on a bridle without bit or a bridle with bit. If a horse is ridden with a snaffle with a bit, it is possible to use a snaffle that only has a bit with the reins attached to the snaffle ring, or to ride the horse with a bridle.
- a curb bridle also has a bit which, depending on the use of the curb bridle, is inserted into the mouth of a horse in addition to the snaffle bit described above. Curb reins are attached to the curb.
- a bridle typically also has a noseband and chin strap as well as a strap, such as a throat strap or a gaiter strap, which is led around under the cheekbones of the horse's head.
- the length of all straps can be adapted to the anatomy of the horse's head. Since a head piece is typically only used for a single horse, this is adapted to the anatomy of the horse's head once adapted and basically remains in this configured configuration. If different head pieces, typically with different bridles, are to be put on a horse, it is necessary to provide different bridles for the different bridles.
- a bridle designed for one type of bridle will not and cannot be used for any other type of bridle.
- a bridle snaffle cannot be used as a curb snaffle due to the lack of a cheek piece on either side.
- a curb snaffle has the strap required for this, which is missing in the case of an underlay snaffle.
- This cannot be used as a bridle without a curb when using it.
- the straps that are not required for such a bridle then remain loose. This irritates the horse, especially because the loose piece of strap is at the level of the horse's eyes.
- U.S. 4,135,348 A discloses a halter with a strap arrangement by which the halter can be placed in two different configurations.
- the belt assembly includes a first piece of belt attached to a ring. This is part of a neck strap. At the free end, this piece of belt has a pin buckle. The counterpart to this first piece of belt is provided by a double-layer piece of belt. The two layers of this piece of belt are connected to one another at one end.
- the inner piece of strap is a conventional piece of strap for forming a neck strap.
- the external piece of strap is used to implement a panic lock in the holster. On its inside, this piece of belt carries the connecting sections required for a Velcro-fleece connection.
- this holster with a panic lock functionality, only the outer layer of this strap piece is put through the buckle of the first strap piece and returned so that the Velcro section can be brought into engagement with the fleece section of the strap piece.
- the spike of the buckle is not required for such use. With such a configuration, the inner piece of strap remains unused and hangs loosely from the halter.
- U.S. 5,785,011 A discloses a panic lock to be built into a leash.
- This panic lock has two interengaging straps, one of which is double-layered and is designed on the outside as a Velcro or fleece section.
- the other piece of belt is sandwiched between these two layers of the first belt and on the outside carries the complementary sections for realizing a fleece-Velcro connection.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of proposing a multi-part bridle or saddle strap which is suitable for different uses of the bridle or saddle equipment or which enables the bridle or saddle equipment to be used for different applications, in particular without an unused strap remaining loose on the bridle or saddle.
- this object is achieved by a bridle or saddle gear according to claim 1.
- this bridle or saddle strap several second strap pieces are provided. These are held together in a stacked arrangement at one end. The place where the second strap pieces are held together is not necessarily in the physical end portion of the same, although this is entirely possible.
- the term refers to the functional end section. It is quite possible that such a second belt piece merges into another belt or another belt piece, this other belt or the another piece of strap has a different functionality.
- the multi-part bridle or saddle strap can be, for example, the cheek strap of a bridle.
- the second strap section located at the bottom can, for example, be part of the neck strap without these two straps - cheek strap and neck strap - being physically separated from one another.
- the at least one further second piece of belt is not used separately. Nevertheless, this at least one further second strap piece is held securely, namely at its one end through the connection to the other second strap piece (s) and at its other end through the common engagement in the belt connector. Thus, even when not in use, the unused second strap pieces are not loose and therefore do not interfere.
- An indirect connection is a connection with the interposition of a further belt or belt piece, which in turn is connected with a belt connector to this second belt piece detached from the one or more other second belt pieces.
- the second belt piece located at the top covers the second belt piece or pieces underneath when these are held together in the belt connector assigned to the first belt piece. This means that none of the second belt pieces located below this second belt piece located at the top laterally or at its free end over the one located at the top second strap piece protrudes.
- the appearance of such a multi-part bridle or saddle strap then does not differ from conventional multi-part straps.
- the functionality of the bridle or saddle equipment according to the invention only becomes visible when one of the further second strap pieces is removed from the arrangement one above the other.
- the first belt piece carries a buckle as a belt connector.
- the second strap pieces have mandrel openings that are aligned with one another for the mandrel of the buckle.
- the thorn openings are thus one above the other in the stacking arrangement, so that even if the at least one further second piece of belt is not used, the bridle or saddle strap can be adjusted in length, as is the case with conventional belts with only one second piece of belt.
- the second strap pieces can be held in different ways at their one end section. It is possible to sew or glue the pieces of belt to one another. It is also possible to hold the second belt pieces together in their arrangement one above the other by means of a rivet.
- This configuration enables the rivet assembly to be designed in such a way that the second belt pieces held together by it can be rotated relative to one another around the shank of the rivet by at least a few degrees of angle. If several second belt pieces are used for connection to different first belt pieces, the connection direction is always different. The second belt piece (s) then do not need to be bent in order to point in a different tensioning direction, but rather, because of the rotatability, can be guided straight and therefore directly to the intended connection point.
- the second strap pieces are part of an abutment, as is the case, for example, with a curb bit. If these belts or belt pieces are not straight out, the desired abutment function can only be provided when the abutment belt or the abutment belt pieces are straightened out. This is easily possible due to the previously described rotatability of the second belt pieces despite the fact that they are arranged one above the other.
- Such a multi-part bridle or saddle strap is typically made of leather or synthetic leather. Of course, this can also be made from a material mixture or a fabric.
- a multi-part bridle or saddle strap it is part of a bridle for a horse as a cheek strap.
- a bridle then comprises two such cheek straps, one on each side of the head frame or the horse's head.
- the first strap piece is attached to a ring of a bit - typically the snaffle ring - and the second strap piece is attached to a neck strap.
- the several second strap pieces are connected together in their arrangement one above the other to the strap connector of the first strap piece, which strap connector is typically designed as a buckle. The majority of the second belt pieces then do not appear.
- the bridle as a curb bit
- Another second piece of strap serves as a cheek piece for the curb bit and is connected to it.
- a multi-part bridle or saddle strap 1 comprises a first strap piece 2.
- the first strap piece 2 has a buckle 3 with a pin 4 at one end.
- the bridle or saddle strap 1 has two second strap pieces in addition to the first strap piece 2 in the illustrated embodiment 5, 5.1.
- the two second belt pieces 5, 5.1 are held together in the region of their upper end section in the figure by a rivet 6 in a superposed arrangement.
- Both second belt pieces 5, 6 have mandrel openings 7 arranged in alignment with one another Figure 1 The position shown extends through the mandrel 4 of the buckle 3 such a mandrel opening 7 of the two second belt pieces 5, 5.1.
- the second belt pieces 5, 5.1 are of the same length in the illustrated embodiment.
- the upper second belt piece 5 covers the lower second belt piece 5.1.
- the bridle or saddle strap 1 has two second strap pieces 5, 5.1, these are shown in the drawing at their free end with a small distance from one another. If the second strap pieces 5, 5.1 have a certain stiffness, in most cases such a multi-part bridle or saddle strap 1 can be used in the in Figure 1 application shown, in which the two second strap pieces 5, 5.1 are held together in their superposed arrangement in the buckle 3, not recognize.
- the bridle or saddle strap 1 In the end, only one of the two second belt pieces 5 or 5.1 is required. The connection of the second belt piece 5, 5.1 with the first belt piece 2 can be released. Due to the provision of a plurality of thorn openings 7 arranged at a distance from one another, the bridle or saddle strap 1 can be adjusted with regard to its length.
- the bridle or saddle strap 1 is to be used for another use, in which two second strap pieces 5, 5.1 are required, one of the two second strap pieces 5 is released from the buckle connection, so that in the buckle 3 only one of the two second strap pieces 5.1 is held.
- the second piece of belt 5.1 remains connected to the first piece of belt 2 via the buckle 3.
- the second belt piece 5 can be rotated due to the holding together of the second belt piece 5 by the rivet 6 relative to the lower second belt piece 5.1 so that ultimately a second belt, formed by the second belt, is adjacent to the belt formed from the first belt piece 2 and the second belt piece 5.1
- Belt piece 5 and a further belt 8 connected thereto is formed.
- the two second belt pieces can definitely differ in terms of their material thickness and / or also their material. It is also possible to design the second belt piece 5.1 located at the bottom in the illustrated embodiment as a whole or in part in a different color than the other belt pieces. This can be done solely for design considerations. At the same time, this makes it clear to a user or to a third party, if the color of the lower strap piece is visible, that the bridle or saddle strap is in use in which the two second strap pieces are used side by side.
- FIG 4 shows a horse's head 9 with a bridle 10 made up of straps attached to it.
- the bridle 10 has a noseband 11, the ends of which are connected to a chin strap 12 or merge into it.
- cheek pieces 13 are connected to the noseband 11.
- the cheek pieces 13 merge into a neck strap 14.
- the neck strap 14 remains fixed by a gaiter strap 15 which is guided around under the cheekbones of the horse's head 9.
- the bridle 10 also has a multi-part cheek strap 16 as part of a bridle.
- the cheek strap 16 is a multi-part bridle or saddle strap, as described above with reference to FIG Figures 1 to 3 is described.
- the individual components of the cheek strap 16 are identified with the same reference numerals that are used for the bridle or saddle strap 1 of the Figures 1 to 3 have been used.
- the cheek strap 16 is in Figure 4 in a use corresponding to that of Figure 3 shown.
- the two separated second strap pieces 5, 5.1 with their straps 2, 8 connected to them are part of a curb bit, otherwise not shown. It is provided that the second strap piece 5 with the attached strap 8 is attached to the snaffle ring of a bridle and the second strap piece 5.1 with the attached first strap piece 2 is attached to a ring belonging to the curb bit.
- the cheek strap 16 is set up with respect to its two second strap pieces 5, 5.1, as shown in FIG Figure 1 is shown.
- the two second strap pieces 5, 5.1 are then fixed together in the buckle 3.
- the first piece of strap 2 is connected to the snaffle ring of a snaffle.
- the bridle 10 in a modified form in which the cheek strap has three second strap pieces, namely when the bridle 10 is to be used without a bridle - of any kind.
- the upper part of the cheek piece 13 is a further second strap piece which, in contrast to the illustration of the bridle 10 in FIG Figure 4 is held with the two further second belt pieces 5, 5.1 in a one above the other.
- all three second strap pieces are then held together in the buckle of the cheek piece.
