Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a quick release fastener for a lace-up shoe, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • WO 2009/055855 A1 discloses a quick release fastener for a lace-up shoe with the features of the preamble of claim 1.
  • Closures for shoes are known in different embodiments. On the one hand, they have the function of holding the shoe securely on the foot, but on the other hand, they should be easy, quick and easy to open and close.
  • Velcro fasteners which have become increasingly popular in recent years, most shoes are still laced using the tried and tested shoelaces. Lacing offers the advantage that the shoe sits securely and comfortably on the foot and is often preferred for aesthetic reasons.
  • Opening and closing the lacing is comparatively time-consuming and complicated, especially for people with limited manual skills.
  • clamping locks into which the two free ends of the shoelaces are threaded and tightened so that they can only be released again by unlocking a lock.
  • Such quick-release fasteners replace a loop or a knot as a backup, but do not contribute to a simplification of the tensioning and loosening of the actual lacing.
  • US 6 671 980 B1 discloses a quick release fastener which is fixedly attached to a tab of a lace-up shoe and comprises a fixed element that is connected to the tab by a rivet or the like, and a movable element that is pivotably connected to the fixed element.
  • the shoelace is threaded through an eyelet attached to the movable element in such a way that the movable element tensions the shoelace by means of a pivoting movement on the fixed element or on the tab.
  • this known quick release fastener has the disadvantage that it cannot be detached from the shoe in a non-destructive manner if its use is not desired.
  • Such a quick release fastener cannot be retrofitted to a shoe or adapted to different shoes.
  • the closure which is already very elaborately designed, would become even more complicated as a result.
  • Another object is to design such a quick-release fastener in such a way that it can be easily detached from the shoe if necessary and can also be retrofitted to an ordinary shoe without the fit of the lacing changing under load.
  • the quick release fastener comprises a base element for attachment to a tab of the lace-up shoe, which can be attached laterally from a free edge of the strap and is provided with a fastening means for detachable attachment to or in one of the lacing eyes of the strap.
  • this basic element is a clamping element pivotally connected about a pivot axis.
  • Locking means are used to hold the clamping element in the closed position, so that it cannot easily come loose and open the quick release fastener.
  • At a distance from the pivot axis at least one eyelet is provided in the tensioning element, which is used to pass through a shoelace.
  • the quick release fastener can be detachably attached to one of the two tabs of an ordinary shoe, each of which has a series of lace eyelets.
  • the shoelace is alternately pulled through the eyelets opposite on the right and left of the shoe in the respective tabs, then lashed and knotted, for example, by means of a loop.
  • a quick release fastener according to the invention can be attached to one of these two tabs in such a way that the fastening means engages in a lacing loop of a tab and thus fixes the base element.
  • the pivot axis which connects the tensioning element to the base element, then rests on or near a free edge of this flap, so that the tensioning element rests on the flap in the closed position and moves upwards from this flap towards the other when it is opened can pivot on the opposite flap on the shoe.
  • One of the eyelets is thus occupied by the fastening means. Its function is replaced by the eyelet in the tensioning element.
  • the shoelace is pulled through the eyelets of the tab located there, on the side of the quick release fastener, however, through the eyelet in the clamping element and, if necessary, through further eyelets that are not occupied by the quick release fastener.
  • several eyelets for threading through the shoelace can optionally also be provided in the tensioning element.
  • the eyelets already present on a lace-up shoe are thus used for fastening, so that both a retrofitting of a conventional shoe and a residue-free removal of the quick release fastener according to the invention from the shoe are possible.
  • the quick release fastener In the position attached to the shoe, the quick release fastener is non-rotatably seated on the tab, since the base element is fixed in its position by the system of the pivot axis on or close to the free edge of the tab and can no longer rotate around the fastening means.
  • the tensioning element rests on the flap onto which the base element is attached, and the shoelace is lashed and knotted in this position.
  • the locking means are released so that the clamping element can be folded up from the tab or the base element. This reduces the distance between the eyelet or eyelets in the tensioning element and the opposing eyelets on the free tab of the shoe that is not occupied by the quick release fastener. This causes the tension of the shoelace to be released across the shoe without the knot having to be undone.
  • the clamping element is folded back onto the base element, and the locking means again engage one another.
  • the clamping element only needs to be released from the lock or pivoted back onto the base element. This can be done with a simple movement. Operation is simple and straightforward. If desired, the quick release fastener can be removed from the shoe by releasing the fastening element and then simply pulling the base element off the tab.
  • the fastening means preferably comprises a pin which is detachably inserted into this base element from the rear side of the base element, which is opposite the tensioning element in the closed position.
  • the pin can be passed through a lacing loop on which the base element is then held.
  • the pin is screwed into an internal thread in the base element.
  • the pin is provided with a corresponding external thread at its end.
  • the base element preferably comprises a number of several internal threads at different distances from the pivot axis.
  • the distance between the pivot axis and the fastening means can thus be adapted, so that an adjustment to a distance between an edge of the tab on which the pivot axis is to rest and the lacing eyelet can be adapted.
  • the base element comprises a substantially U-shaped body for sliding laterally onto the tab, and the pivot axis is attached to one end of the base element at which the legs converge.
  • the base element can thus be pushed onto the flap in such a way that one of its legs rests on the outside of the front side of the flap, while the other leg rests on the inside rear side.
  • the legs thus encompass the tab in the manner of a bracket or clip.
  • the fastening means can then be used to fix the base element in its position.
  • the pin also preferably traverses the free space between the legs, for example in the vicinity of the free ends of the legs at a sufficient distance from the pivot axis, corresponding to a distance between the lace eyelet and an edge of the flap.
  • the locking means comprise latching means which enable the tensioning element to be manually releasably latched to the base element in the closed position.
  • the tensioning element preferably comprises a recess for receiving the base element in the closed position.
  • the clamping element forms a unit with the base element in the closed position, and the thickness of the quick-release fastener on the top of the tab is limited.
  • the base element preferably has a thickening on its upper side, which is clipped into its recess when the clamping element is closed. This is made possible, for example, by a certain elasticity of the material of the tensioning element, which spreads slightly when closing, so that the thickening of the base element can pass the opening cross-section.
  • the thickening can, for example, have a cross-section which is shaped like a dovetail and has the maximum width on its upper side, but converges slightly towards the rear. Furthermore, it is possible that the thickening is attached only at one point between the pivot axis and the fastening means, in such a way that the cross section of the base element varies over the distance between the pivot axis and the fastening means.
  • the present invention also relates to a lace-up shoe comprising a quick release fastener of the type described above.
  • Fig. 1 shows a quick release fastener 10 for a lace-up shoe, not shown here.
  • the quick release fastener 10 is intended to be attached to a tab of the lace-up shoe which is provided with a number of lace eyelets through which a shoe lace can be threaded.
  • Fig. 1 shows the quick release fastener 10 in the open position. It comprises a base element 12, which is provided to be detachably attached to the tab, not shown, of the lace-up shoe.
  • the base element 12 comprises a pin 14 as a fastening means, which is screwed into an internal thread 16 in the base element 12 from the rear.
  • the base element 12 is placed on the side of the tab in such a way that the pin 14 is passed through a lacing eyelet from the rear of the tab and screwed into the internal thread 16.
  • the base element 12 also comprises three further internal threads 18, 20, 24, which are provided in the base element 12 next to one another.
  • the pin 14 can optionally be screwed into each internal thread 16,18,20,24 in the base element 12 in order to offer various fastening options and to adapt the seat of the quick release fastener 10 to the size of the tab, in particular to the distance between the Lace-up eyelets into which the pin 14 is inserted from a free outer edge of the flap.
  • the pin 14 At its free end facing away from the end to be screwed in, the pin 14 has a head 36 which facilitates the handling and turning of the pin 14 with the fingers of a user. This head 36 is in the attached position of the quick release fastener 10 below the tab, as will be explained in more detail below.
  • the quick release fastener 10 further comprises a tensioning element 26, which is connected to the base element 12 so as to be pivotable about a pivot axis 28.
  • the pivot axis 28 extends perpendicular to the axis of the pin 14. In the attached state on the bracket, the pivot axis 28 lies laterally next to a free outer edge of the bracket.
  • the tensioning element 26 has a greater width than the base element 12, so that the base element 12 is completely covered by the tensioning element 26 in the closed state of the quick release fastener 10, as shown in FIG Fig. 2 is shown.
  • the tensioning element 26 comprises an eyelet 34 which extends at a distance from the pivot axis 28 at the free end of the tensioning element 26 parallel to the pivot axis 28 through the base body 30 of the tensioning element 26.
  • a shoelace can be threaded through this eyelet 34.
  • the eyelet 34 is formed by a channel which is open on opposite sides of the base body 30 and which runs through part of the base body 30 between the end of the recess 32 and the free end of the base body 30.
  • Fig. 3 shows the quick release fastener 10 in the closed position (corresponding to Fig. 2 ) from underneath.
  • the base element 12 comprises an essentially U-shaped body 38 for laterally sliding onto the tab.
  • An upper leg 40 resting on the tab is connected to the in Fig. 1 visible internal threads 16,18,20,24 for screwing in a screw-in end of the pin 14 is provided.
  • the other leg 44 has an elongated hole 46 ( Fig. 3 ) through which the pin 14 can be inserted.
  • the pivot axis 28 is attached to the end of the base element 12 at which the legs 40, 44 converge. This end forms a stop when the base element 12 is slipped onto the tab, as will be shown below.
  • the pin 14 traverses the space between them.
  • these locking means comprise latching means which allow the tensioning element 26 to be latched onto the base element 12 when it is closed. This latching can be released by lifting the free end of the tensioning element 26.
  • the latching is formed by a thickening 48 on the upper side of the upper leg 40 of the base element 12, so that this leg 40 has a cross section that resembles a dovetail.
  • This thickening 48 is clipped into the opening of the recess 32 in the tensioning element 26. This is ensured by the fact that the opening of the recess 32 towards the base element 12 has a slightly smaller cross-section than the maximum width of the thickening 48, so that when the quick release fastener 10 is closed, the opening of the recess 32 has to be spread open slightly. This takes place against an elastic resistance of the material of the tensioning element 26.
  • the thickening 48 does not have to extend over the entire length of the base element 12 between the pivot axis 28 and the opposite free end of the base element 12, but the thickening 48 can also only be present at one point of this length.
  • other latching mechanisms are also conceivable, such as a comparable latching at the ends of the recess 32 or of the base element 12.
  • Fig. 7 shows the quick release fastener 10 in an application on a lace-up shoe.
  • This comprises a first tab 100 (in Fig. 7 left) and an opposite second tab 102.
  • Each of these tabs 100, 102 comprises three lacing loops.
  • the base element 12 (which is covered here) is slipped onto the first tab 100 from the free edge 104 facing the second tab 102, in such a way that the tab 100 completely enters the slot-shaped space between the legs 40, 44 ( Figures 4 and 5 ) is inserted.
  • the pin 14 of the quick release fastener 10 is inserted in the middle, invisible lacing loop of the first flap 100, so that the quick release fastener 10 is held on this first bracket 100, in such a way that the pivot axis 28 is arranged along the edge 104 of the first bracket 100 and runs parallel to it.
  • the quick release fastener 10 is attached to the bracket 100 in a manner secure against rotation.
  • the tensioning element 26 rests on the upper side of the first flap 100 and covers the base element 12.
  • the remaining eyelets 106, 108 of the first flap 100 remain free for threading a shoelace 110.
  • the shoelace 110 When lacing, the shoelace 110 is threaded through the eyelets on the opposite side of the shoe. Sections of the shoelace 110 running under the tabs 100, 102 are shown by dashed lines.
  • the shoelace 110 is first stretched with a middle section transversely between the two flaps 100 and 102 and threaded into their lowest eyelets 108 and 112, then with one end under the first flap 100 up to the uppermost eyelet 106 of the same and out again, and with the other end under the second tab 102 from the lowest eyelet 112 upwards to the middle eyelet 114 of the same and out of this, and across over to the top of the first tab 100 and there up through the channel of the eyelet 34 of the quick release fastener 10 The section of the shoelace 110 emerging from this eyelet 34 is in turn pulled to the upper eyelet 116 of the second flap 102 and threaded through there from the underside thereof.
  • the eyelet 34 of the quick release fastener 10 thus replaces the middle eyelet of the first flap 100. If the quick release fastener 10 is released by lifting the clamping element 26, the tension between the eyelets 112, 114, 116 of the second flap 102 and the eyelet 34 of the quick release fastener 10 is also released and loosened.
  • the number of eyelets in the tabs 100,102 is in Fig. 7 shown only as an example. Furthermore, it is also possible to design the tensioning element 26 differently than shown here, so that, for example, it can also include several eyelets 34 that extend perpendicular to the first tab 100, i.e. parallel to the axis of the pin 14 through the tensioning element 26. Furthermore, all elements of the quick release fastener 10 according to the invention are shown here only by way of example and schematically, so that their proportions can deviate from the representations in the figures.
