Definitions
- the present invention relates to a grinding belt, a belt grinder or finger grinder, and the use of a belt grinder or finger grinder, or a grinding belt.
- the U.S. 3,619,949 A discloses a hand grinder with an abrasive belt according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the WO 2005/102607 A1 refers to grinders. In particular, it is about a placement system that allows for easy placement and removal of sandpaper.
- the U.S. 2004/0018802 A1 relates to a process for the manufacture of an abrasive product.
- JP S5020310 B1 and JP S499793A relate to cylindrical grinding elements.
- the GB 1 167 634 A relates to a flexible abrasive belt comprising locating means for locating the belt on a support structure.
- the U.S. 2,469,735 A relates to a polishing machine with an abrasive belt designed in such a way that the abrasive belt can follow contours.
- a sanding belt comprises a sanding surface and a stop surface, the stop surface being positioned offset by an offset to the sanding surface, as a result of which a sanding depth can be adjusted or set.
- the offset is in a range of about 1-5 mm.
- the belt or finger grinder is expediently used, e.g. B. sections of (sheet metal) body parts trigger or cut out, for which purpose any existing fasteners such as spot welds, rivets, folds, etc. must be removed as precisely as possible. As indicated at the beginning, this requires very precise work. Multi-layer sheet metal is currently being used more and more. When grinding down a spot weld on a top sheet metal layer, it must be ensured that the sheet metal layers underneath are not damaged. In the present case, an exact grinding depth can expediently be set via the offset, depending on the respective requirement.
- Belt or finger grinders also offer the advantage that they can also be used with high-strength steels and areas that are difficult to access. In addition, unlike drills, they do not require straight accessibility, so that they can be used extremely flexibly.
- the grinding belt has the abutment surface or forms it integrally, the grinding belt being a flexible grinding belt, as is the case, for. B. is used in belt or finger grinders. That is according to the invention Abrasive belt stepped or deposited in such a way that it includes or forms both the grinding surface and the stop surface.
- the grinding surface is provided in the center, viewed along the circumferential direction, with the stop surface corresponding to two staggered side portions of the grinding member located left and right with respect to the grinding surface.
- These side sections advantageously have a rather smooth surface, since although they also rotate in the circumferential direction, they are not intended to take on a grinding function. This is realized solely by the actual grinding surface.
- such a grinding belt is designed in one piece or integrally, in other words as "one part" or not separable, which means that it can advantageously be replaced as a whole. A desired grinding depth can be easily set by selecting the appropriate grinding belt.
- a multi-stage configuration can also be selected, which, for example, makes it possible to shape or, in particular, grind a correspondingly stepped contour.
- Such an abrasive belt comprises more than one abrasive surface, e.g. B. two, which are arranged offset to each other.
- a middle, uppermost grinding surface is provided, flanked by two rearwardly offset lateral grinding surfaces, to which, again offset, the stop surface or stop surfaces are arranged or formed.
- the grinding belt is designed in two layers, with a first layer, which forms the grinding surface, and a second layer being fastened to one another, in particular in a detachable manner.
- the first layer is therefore preferably interchangeable.
- appropriate form-fitting elements are expediently provided between the first and second layer, which enable the first layer to be exchanged, for example in the event of wear or if a different grinding depth is to be realized by using a different first layer.
- This can namely be advantageously adapted via a different thickness of the first layer, which can be easily replaced if necessary.
- Typical interlocking elements are based, for example based on a hook-and-loop fastener principle, including corresponding hooks and eyelets, etc.
- Other attachment methods for example based on adhesives such as double-sided adhesive tapes, etc., are also possible.
- the stop surface is designed, for example by applying a coating or a sliding element, to enable or support easy displacement on the surface to be processed, especially if the area to be ground is not point-shaped, as with a rivet, but linear, such as at a weld, is.
- the invention also relates to a belt or finger grinder comprising an inventive grinding belt.
- the grinding area is that area or section where the grinding belt ultimately interacts with a workpiece or component to be machined.
- a finger sander for example, this would be the front area of the tool in which the sanding belt is deflected.
- the or the at least one stop surface is expediently provided, which is spaced apart from the grinding surface, so to speak backwards, in such a way that a predetermined grinding depth can be set via this distance.
- the grinding surface can only penetrate the component until the belt or finger grinder or the grinding area is in contact with the stop surface.
- the sanding area In the case of a belt sander, the sanding area describes an essentially rectangular area or plane. With the finger grinder is the grinding area at least partially cylindrical or has the shape of a semi-cylinder.
- the basic structure of a belt or finger grinder is known to a person skilled in the art and is not described further here.
- the grinding element is a grinding belt that is guided on a support surface, with the support surface forming the stop surface.
- the offset or the grinding depth is expediently set solely via a strength or thickness of the grinding belt.
- the support surface is expediently wider than the grinding belt or the grinding surface by a certain amount and thus fulfills the function of the stop surface.
- this structure is similar to a stepped grinding belt, although the stop surface formed by the support surface does not rotate in this variant.
- the stop surface is designed to prevent the grinding device from slipping off the component to be machined.
- the stop surface z. B. provided with a kind of coating or has a certain roughness, which can facilitate the attachment of the grinder to the component / workpiece.
- the stop surface is designed, for example by applying a coating or a sliding element, to enable or support easy displacement on the surface to be processed, especially if the area to be ground is not point-shaped, as with a rivet, but linear, such as at a weld, is.
- the abutment surface can have a substantially cylindrical shape or the shape of a semi-cylinder in order to increase the mobility of the grinder, in particular z. B. to allow a pivoting.
- the invention also relates to the use of a belt or finger sander according to the invention or a sanding belt according to the invention for repairing bodywork, in particular in the field of sheet metal processing, for example for removing spot welds or rivets.
- FIG. 1 shows a grinding belt 20 seen essentially transversely to a circumferential direction U, which has a first layer 24 and a second layer 25 .
- a grinding surface 22 is formed on the first layer 24 .
- the second layer 25 forms a stop surface 30 by means of two corresponding side sections 23.
- the stop surface 30 is offset from the grinding surface 22 by an offset x.
- Two sheet metal layers are outlined with the reference numbers 81 and 82 . The right half of the figure shows how the grinding belt 20 penetrates the first metal sheet 81 during processing, with the metal sheet 82 remaining completely intact thanks to an exactly adjusted grinding depth t, which corresponds to the offset x.
- the finger sander comprises a sanding belt 20 which, in the embodiment shown here, is formed in two layers and has a first layer 24 and a second layer 25, with the first layer 24 forming or comprising a sanding surface 22.
- the second layer 25 forms a stop surface 30 via two side sections 23, which is offset by an offset x relative to the grinding surface 22, in particular to the rear.
- the abrasive belt 20 rotates along a circumferential direction U and is deflected about an axis of rotation D, which more or less corresponds to a cylinder axis of the approximately cylindrical abrasive region 2 .
- a grinding belt 20 has now been described which is designed in two layers or at least in stages, so that it integrally forms the corresponding offset x, via which a grinding depth can be set.
- the reference number 4 indicates that the component identified by this reference number could also be a support surface for the grinding belt 20, which is stationary. Thus, a grinding depth can also be set solely via a strength or thickness of the grinding belt 20 .

Description

- Fig. 1:
- zwei Prinzipskizzen zur Veranschaulichung des Funktionsprinzips;
- Fig. 2:
