Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a massage device for massaging a limb, in particular for self-application.
  • a wide variety of massage devices are used for massaging limbs in sports medicine, orthopedic, physiotherapeutic or training applications, and these should be particularly suitable for a user to use himself.
  • massage devices for self-use as a supplement to conventional muscle training and to relieve tension or hardening have gained in importance, especially for the increasingly popular fascia training.
  • the US6033372 A describes a handheld non-electric massage device for massaging a person's hands, arms, feet and legs.
  • the device consists of a pair of opposed rigid rollers, each of which is provided with a plurality of resilient projections extending from the surface of the Rollers extend outward.
  • the rollers end in shafts that are held in rails on either side of the rollers.
  • a pair of elastic cords are located in the cavity formed within the rail part and the handle part. The elastic cords end in shaft holders that are connected to the shaft ends of the rollers.
  • the elastic cords are placed in such a way that a spring tension is created between the two rollers, so that when the user inserts his hand or foot between the rollers, a massage is obtained through the action of the many elastic tips of the on the skin of the User impinging role surface is caused.
  • a removable cover located on top of the rail allows the user to adjust the spring tension and remove and swap the rollers.
  • the US2017 / 0156968 A1 describes an arm therapy device for the prevention and treatment of repeated stress injuries to the elbow, forearm and wrist.
  • the arm therapy device contains a housing that is adapted so that it can be placed upright free-standing.
  • the case has a top opening that allows access to the inside of the case.
  • Rollers inside the housing consisting of pairs of rollers that are biased towards each other inwards.
  • Biasing elements such as resistance bands, can be used to bias each pair of rollers against one another.
  • Cuffs can be used on the rollers to which the biasing elements are connected.
  • U.S. 3,759,250 A discloses a massage device according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the massage devices it is desirable to achieve a variation in the force exerted during the massage as a function of the part of the body or the limb treated and the type of tension or hardening.
  • a simple and quick variation of the force exerted should be made possible by the user himself.
  • the force exerted by the user should be as small as possible during the massage.
  • the invention relates to a massage device for massaging a limb, comprising a circumferential frame with a central recess and two cylindrical rolling elements, which each extend from one side of the frame over the recess to an opposite side of the frame and are each rotatably mounted about a longitudinal axis.
  • the massage device is characterized in that the rolling elements are arranged in a massage configuration in a translationally stationary manner on the frame with respect to the frame in such a way that the longitudinal axes of the rolling elements enclose an acute angle for introducing the limb.
  • the invention provides an easy-to-use and effective massage device for self-use, which is particularly suitable for fascia training of limbs, e.g. Arms or legs, is appropriate.
  • the surrounding frame offers a stable support structure, which enables the application of large forces and / or torques during the massage and thereby ensures the stability of the massage device.
  • An insertion area can be defined in the central recess which is delimited by the cylindrical rolling elements and sections of the frame and into which a limb can be inserted.
  • a limb can be moved back and forth between the rolling elements that are each rotatable about a longitudinal axis in such a way that the limb inserted between the rolling elements is massaged.
  • the rolling elements Due to the stationary arrangement of the cylindrical rolling elements on the frame in a translational manner with respect to the frame in a massage configuration, the rolling elements can exert sufficient force or pressure on the limb when the limb is passed between the rolling elements, so that tension and / or hardening can be released.
  • the translationally stationary arrangement allows higher forces to be exerted on the limb with the same or similar expenditure of force, so that the effectiveness of the Massage is increased.
  • the translationally fixed arrangement of the rolling elements and the surrounding frame offer the advantage that during the massage no moving parts of the massage device have to be held together manually in order to exert a certain force on the limb.
  • the acute angle enclosed by the longitudinal axes of the rolling elements leads to a variation in the distance between the rolling elements along the longitudinal axes of the rolling elements and thus allows a variation of the force exerted on the limb by moving the position of the limb along the longitudinal axis of the rolling elements.
  • the limb can be displaced relative to the rolling elements in a direction in which the distance between the rolling elements decreases.
  • the limb can be displaced relative to the rolling elements in a direction in which the distance between the rolling elements increases.
  • an optimal position for the limb between the rolling elements can be found, in which optimal force can be exerted on the limb during the massage.
  • the cylindrical rolling elements are dimensioned in such a way that the length of the cylinder defined by the outer surface of a rolling element is at least as great as twice the diameter of the cylinder.
  • the frame has a fastening device which is designed in such a way that at least one of the rolling elements for setting different massage configurations along one side of the frame can be released in at least two, preferably three, particularly preferably four positions that are translationally stationary with respect to the frame the fastening device is engageable.
  • This configuration offers the advantage that different angles between the longitudinal axes of the rolling elements and different massage configurations can be set through the different positions of the rolling elements along one side of the frame.
  • the variability of the forces that can be exerted during the massage can thus be increased.
  • the rolling elements each engage at one end in the fastening device, so that the position of one end of a rolling element along one side of the frame can be changed by releasing and engaging the rolling element from and into the fastening device.
