Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a dust hood for a grinder equipped with a gear neck for attaching the dust hood.
  • the dust hood is equipped with a hood body for covering a circular grinding wheel and with a curtain running along a circumference of the hood body for at least partially sealing the hood body from a substrate to be processed by means of the grinding wheel.
  • the dust hood has a suction connection, via which a subsoil removal can be sucked out of the hood body.
  • Dust hoods of the type mentioned are basically known from the prior art. They serve to prevent dust from spreading during grinding work, in order, among other things, to protect the health of the user of the grinding device. It is known to equip the hood body with a curtain in the form of a brush ring or a slatted curtain, so that the hood body is flush with the substrate to be processed. If the angle grinder is placed at a slight angle on the surface to be processed, the curtain can seal any gap that may appear between the hood body and the surface to be processed, whereby dust is typically extracted optimally if there is a gap of 1 to 2 mm between the bust ring or slatted curtain and the surface.
  • EP 2 186 600 A1 forms the basis for the preamble of claim 1, and discloses a surface grinder with a funnel-shaped suction hood, which surface grinder can be used in particular for grinding concrete.
  • the DE 20 2014 007856 U1 discloses an apparatus for removing surface coatings.
  • the device can be connected to an appropriate suction device.
  • the dust hood has an adjustment ring by means of which the hood body is relatively, preferably in the axial direction relative to the axis of rotation of the Grinding wheel, can be adjusted with respect to the gear neck and / or the collar.
  • the hood body is designed to be adjustable in stages.
  • a spring-loaded locking plunger is provided on the adjusting ring.
  • the dust hood has a wrap-around piece on which a plurality of recesses are provided, each of which corresponds to a height step.
  • the invention includes the knowledge that a grinding wheel typically wears away by about 8 mm over its service life and accordingly, for optimal dust extraction, the height of the bust ring/lamellar curtain should be adjustable.
  • the invention also includes the finding that dust hoods known from the prior art either do not use any height adjustment at all or use rubber lips that press the bust ring or slatted curtain against the ground. Both lead to heavy wear on these elements, so that the bust ring or lamellar curtain typically has to be changed with every grinding wheel. In addition, the extraction result is not optimal if the bust ring or slatted curtain is lying on it, because no air can flow in there.
  • the dust hood according to the invention can be adapted to the actual state of a grinding wheel.
  • a dust hood is provided which offers an improved possibility of use.
  • the curtain is designed as a slatted curtain.
  • the curtain can be designed as a brush ring or as a brush.
  • the adjusting ring encloses a guide neck formed on the hood body from the outside.
  • the adjusting ring can have a handle in order to facilitate operation of the adjusting ring.
  • the hood body has a central opening through which the gear neck can protrude.
  • a drive spindle, on which the circular grinding wheel is to be attached for the grinding operation, is preferably guided through the gear neck.
  • an adjusting thread with a thread pitch is formed on the inside of the adjusting ring, which is in engagement with a corresponding adjusting thread, which is formed on the outside of the guide neck.
  • the engagement is preferably designed in such a way that rotating the adjusting ring about the axis of rotation causes the hood body to be raised or lowered relative to the gear neck and/or the hood body relative to the adjusting ring causes.
  • the adjusting thread and the corresponding adjusting thread are preferably designed as trapezoidal threads.
  • the adjusting thread can also be connected to the gear neck in a fixed or stationary manner, so that the adjusting ring moves relative to the gear neck together with the hood body.
  • the wrap-around piece is preferably U-shaped.
  • the grip piece can be designed to grip a retaining collar formed on the adjusting ring to secure the adjusting ring on the gear neck.
  • the wrap-around piece particularly preferably encloses a housing collar formed on the gear neck when the dust hood is arranged as intended on the grinder.
  • the adjusting ring is particularly preferably connected to the gear neck of the grinder in a form-fitting manner in the axial direction.
  • the wrap-around piece is preferably arranged transversely, preferably vertically, relative to the axis of rotation and can be pulled off the gear neck. This makes it easier to dismantle the dust hood, for example for cleaning purposes.
  • the wrap-around piece can be secured against being pulled off the gear neck by at least one retaining screw, preferably exactly two retaining screws.
  • the wrap-around piece can be secured against being pulled off the gear neck by a lock.
  • the lock can be designed, for example, as a spring-loaded push button or as a pawl with snap hooks.
  • the lock can also be formed by rivets, pins or the like.
  • the hood body can be adjusted from an upper hood position to a lower hood position and vice versa by turning the adjusting ring by about 180 degrees, with the upper and lower hood positions each defining a stop.
  • At least one threaded recess is provided in the thread pitch of the adjusting thread.
  • the thread of the adjusting thread can be designed as an interrupted thread. This makes it easier to knock off unwanted crusts of dust.
  • at least one core recess can be provided between two adjacent threads of the corresponding adjusting thread.
  • the core recess is preferably designed as a through hole to the inside of the guide neck. This advantageously allows dust to be removed from the thread.
  • the dust hood particularly preferably has a curtain carrier to which the curtain can be stationarily connected. It has turned out to be advantageous if the curtain carrier has a latching socket which can be latched in the hood body.
  • the latching bushing particularly preferably has at least one bushing slot, which can extend parallel to the axis of rotation and preferably at least partially overlaps with the core recess. This further improves the removal of dust from the thread.
  • the hood body is designed to cover a major part of the grinding wheel.
  • the dust hood can have a hood sector that can be displaced along the hood body in the circumferential direction of the hood body and is provided for gradually covering and releasing a remaining part of the grinding wheel as required. This enables a cutting operation using the remaining part of the grinding wheel that is not covered by the hood body.
  • the curtain is preferably connected to the hood body in a stationary manner.
  • the dust hood can be free of any spring elements acting in the axial direction between the curtain and the hood body.
  • the object is also achieved by a grinding device with a gear neck and with a dust hood of the type described above, the dust hood being arranged or to be arranged on the gear neck.
  • FIG. 1 shows a grinder 100 in the form of a diamond grinder.
  • the grinder 200 has a gear neck 210 for attaching a dust hood 100, which is also in 1 is shown.
  • the dust hood 100 is shown in section.
  • Dust hood 100 is equipped with a hood body 10 for covering a circular grinding wheel 220, in this case a diamond wheel, and with a curtain 30 running along a circumference U of hood body 10 for at least partially sealing hood body 10 from a substrate UG to be machined by means of grinding wheel 220.
  • the curtain 30 is designed as a slatted curtain.
  • Subsoil removal S in the form of dust can be sucked out of the hood body 10 via a suction connection 40 of the dust hood 100 .
  • the hood body 10 in 1 is designed to cover a major part of the grinding wheel 220, with the dust hood 100 having a hood sector 20 which can be displaced in the circumferential direction U of the hood body 10 along the hood body 10 and which is provided for gradually covering and releasing a remaining part 220 ⁇ of the grinding wheel 220 as required.
  • a curtain 30' in the form of a slatted curtain is also provided in the hood sector 20.
  • the dust hood 100 has an adjusting ring 50 by means of which the hood body 10 can be adjusted in the axial direction A, relative to the axis of rotation R of the grinding wheel 220, with respect to the gear neck 210 and the adjusting ring 50.
  • the adjusting ring 50 is positively connected in the axial direction A to the gear neck 210 of the grinding device 200 .
  • This is achieved by a U-shaped wrap-around piece 25 (cf. also 6 and 8th ), which surrounds a retaining collar 55 formed on the adjusting ring 50 to secure the adjusting ring 50 on the gear neck 210.
  • the grip piece 25 also encompasses a housing collar 215 formed on the gear neck 210.
  • the hood body 10 has a central opening 13 through which the gear neck 210 can protrude.
  • a drive spindle (not shown) is passed through the gear collar 210 to which the circular grinding wheel 220 is mounted for grinding operation.
  • the adjusting ring 50 includes a guide neck 15 formed on the hood body 10 from the outside.
  • An adjusting thread 57 with a thread pitch G is formed on the inside of the adjusting ring 50 (cf. 7 ), which is in engagement with a corresponding adjusting thread 17, which is formed on the outside of the guide neck 15. What is achieved in this way is that rotating the adjusting ring 50 about the axis of rotation R causes the hood body 10 to be raised or lowered relative to the gear neck 210 and the hood body 10 relative to the adjusting ring 50 .
  • FIG 2 shows a perspective view of the embodiment of FIG 1 .
  • Good to award in 2 is that the adjusting ring 50 has a handle 53 in order to facilitate operation of the adjusting ring 30 .
  • the hood body 10 can be rotated from an upper hood position OP ( Figures 1 to 4 ) to a lower hood position UP ( figure 5 ) and vice versa adjustable, with the upper and lower hood position each defining a stop.
  • an upper hood position OP of the hood body 10 is shown, which is why the grinding wheel 220, based on the axial direction A, projects beyond the hood body 10 at most.
  • FIG. 1 and 2 A front view of the embodiment of FIG 1 and 2 is in 3 shown.
  • figure 5 shows the dust hood of Figures 1 to 4 in the lower hood position UP, the grinder is also only partially shown. A part of the corresponding adjusting thread 17 , which is formed on the outside of the guide neck 15 , can be seen below the adjusting ring 50 .
  • the dust hood of Figures 1 to 5 when removed is in 6 shown, with the grinding device 200 being shown only partially.
  • the wrap-around piece 25, which is designed to be removable from the gear neck 210 perpendicular to the axis of rotation R, is in 6 shown in stripped condition.

  • the two retaining screws 27 can also be designed in the form of two retaining pins.
  • the hood body 10 has a central opening 13 through which the gear neck 210 can protrude. Passing through the gear collar 210 is a drive spindle 230 to which the circular grinding wheel (not shown) can be mounted for grinding operation. A part of the adjusting thread 57 , which is formed on the inside of the guide neck 15 , can be seen on the upper inside of the adjusting ring 50 .
  • each two adjacent threads 16, 16 '; 16', 16" of the corresponding adjusting thread 17 are each provided with a core recess 18, 18'.
  • the core recesses 18, 18' are designed as through-holes to the inside of the guide neck 15. Dust can be sucked out of the corresponding adjusting thread 17 through the core recesses 18, 18'.
  • the dust hood 100 has a curtain carrier 60 to which the curtain 30 is fixedly connected, the curtain carrier 60 having a locking bushing 65 which can be locked in the hood body 10 or in the guide neck 15 .
  • the locking bushing 65 has six bushing slots 67 which extend parallel to the axis of rotation R.
  • the curtain support 60 and the dust hood 10 can be plugged together in such a way that one of the socket slots 67 at least partially overlaps with the core recess 18 . This enables optimal dust extraction from the corresponding adjusting thread 17.
