Definitions

  • the invention relates to a drum kit with a device which has a device for changing the attack and / or decay behavior of the drum kit, in particular for changing the pitch length.
  • the ratio of the bowl diameter to the bowl depth is very different.
  • Floor toms are often deeper than hanging toms of the same diameter.
  • the so-called rototoms occupy a special position. They only consist of a flat metal frame on which the batter head is stretched; there is no boiler.
  • a screw construction makes it possible to change the skin tension while playing, so that a glissando can be created by rotating the frame.
  • glissando also glissato, glisscato, glissicando; Derived from the French glisser "glide”, in music it describes the continuous sliding change in pitch. Closely related to the term glissando, and partly overlapping with the former, is also the musical form of ornamentation portamento.
  • drums - such as drums or toms - it is difficult to adjust the pitch or sustain precisely using conventional means.
  • a change in particular a reduction in the length of the tone, has been achieved primarily through external dampers, e.g. glued to the head or attached to the hoop of the head and then pressed onto the head by means of an adjusting screw.
  • the sound engineer has artificially set the length of the sound in the case of electronic recording or transmission through a gate on the mixer by the sound engineer.
  • a device holder for drums for fastening to a tensioning strut between two counter-rings of the drum for holding a rod element and an instrument on the rod element
  • the device holder comprising: a base frame which is designed as in U-channel, the base frame comprising: a Lower wall, two parallel upright side walls extending from the lower wall on two opposite sides, two upright lugs, each extending from the upright side walls at one end and defining a respective through hole, an elongated, open-ended slot in the lower wall located at the opposite end away from the upright lugs, two arcuate notches each located on the upright side walls, two pivot holes each formed in the upright side walls and located between the upright lugs and the arcuate notches, as well e a bolt hole formed in the bottom wall between upright lugs; a pressing device which can be attached in the bolt hole of the base frame and is used for fastening the rod element in the through holes of the upright lugs for holding an instrument;
  • a drum support having at least one leg operatively connected to the drum and extending below the drum first and second connected to a leg and connectable to a standing surface, with at least one of the feet provided for adjustable movement relative to the other foot is.
  • a first member includes a first horizontal seat panel, a vertical faceplate, and an upper engagement member on the top of the faceplate that extends forwardly from the seat panel and toward the drum.
  • An opening is provided in the faceplate and the opening has a lower edge facing forward towards the drum body.
  • a second element includes a second seat panel disposed over the first seat panel of the first element.
  • a hanging member depending on the second seat panel, passes through the opening in the front panel of the first member and extends below the first seat panel.
  • a part gripping the lower drum hoop is provided on the hanging part.
  • a screw in the second seat plate is adjustable against the first seat plate for moving the seat plates against each other, whereby the upper and lower engagement parts move together with respect to the tire.
  • a seat plate on each long side of the hanging part engages the back of the front panel of the front part.
  • a device for providing a snare effect in an existing drum is known.
  • the device is formed from an arrangement of snare wires which are mounted on a mounting arrangement.
  • the snare wires have a length that extends only part of a drum head with the device attached to an accessible area of an existing drum.
  • the device comprises a lever arm that controls the contact between the snare wires and the drum head.
  • the snare device can be attached to the underside of a tom and provide a snare effect with an adjustable kang.
  • an adjustable sound-improving damping device for a drum kit comprises a first arm element with a structure which can be fastened to a drum kit and which is connected to a second arm element with a plurality of surface elements which have the sound-damping properties.
  • the second arm member is selectively and detachably connected to the first arm member at a point adjacent a slot of the first arm member to provide a range of radial and axial positions of the second arm member relative to the first arm member.
  • the plurality of surface elements can be in constant pressing contact with a skin of a drum kit.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object of creating a device for a drum kit and a drum kit with such a device which can change the attack and decay behavior, in particular allows the pitch length and also the timbre of the drum kit to be set largely independently of the pitch.
  • the drum kit includes a device.
  • the sustain on the tom can therefore be extended if necessary.
  • the device attached to the drum kit for changing the attack and decay behavior also serves as a holder for the drum kit on one Tripod or stand. This holder enables adaptation to any musical style with one and the same drum kit. During a concert, the drummer can very quickly change his sound or the sustain on the tom for another song by releasing the connecting element on the bracket, moving it and fixing it again in a different position.
  • the invention is a drum holder with the aid of which the "sustain", ie the sound length of the drum or the tom, can be changed in a very short time, even during a music event.
  • the drum kit is placed on a bracket along, i. H. parallel to the wall of the drum set or, more specifically, a drum, continuously moved to any position along the bracket.
  • percussion instrument or percussion as used here in the claims and in the description refers to all drums that are covered with one or more skins made of animal skins, plastic or other thin material. With many drums, the sound is dominated by the noisy character of the instruments, which, comparable to percussion drums, are used rhythmically or drums or produce sounds similar to these. Occasionally the drums include some idiophone percussion instruments (such as slit drums and idiofone water drums), but also other instruments such as jew's harps. Often such instruments are instead grouped together with percussion drums under more general terms such as percussion instrument or percussion.
  • the drum kit to which the present invention relates generally, but not necessarily, has a shell, at least one batter head tensioned on the shell and devices for adjusting the tension of the batter head (and thus for adjusting the pitch).
  • the percussion consists only of the batter head and a clamping ring to which a device according to the invention can be attached.
  • the suspension of the drum kit takes place exclusively via the bracket for adjusting the pitch length.
  • the bracket is attached to the shell of the drum with only one of its ends.
  • the receptacle or holder of the drum kit prefferably be designed as a shaped, for example, forged, rolled and / or curved bracket.
  • the bracket forms an arc of a circle which is adapted to the outer circumference of a wall of the drum kit and is arranged at a distance from the outside or the wall of the drum kit that is as constant as possible, preferably over its length.
  • the connecting element for a tripod or the like which is slidably received on the bracket, can be fixed at any point on the bracket with the aid of a clamping or quick-release device.
  • the connecting element has a quick-release clamping device with flange parts which together encompass the bracket, wherein the one flange part on the inside and the second flange part on the outside of the bracket can be pressed with the aid of a clamping lever or at least one adjusting screw.
  • the connecting element has an opening in which a support arm or a tripod pin can be received and clamped.
  • the bracket consists of two parallel legs which are arranged at a distance from one another and have a substantially constant cross section, on which the connecting element is slidably received.
  • the attached end of the bracket is rigidly and / or adjustably connected to an exchangeable, cantilevered connection part, which represents an extension of the bracket beyond its attached end.
  • the connection part expediently has a mass that can be varied over a wide range through exchange and, due to its respective mass, has a decisive influence on the onset and decay behavior, including the pitch of the drum kit.
  • the bracket runs parallel to the batter head plane in an arc plane, but can optionally also have an angular position that can be changed with respect to the batter head plane.
  • bracket is arranged in a self-supporting manner over at least part of its length, starting from its fastening end connected to the drum kit.
  • connection part starting from the fastening end also has a significant influence on the sound.
  • both the tone color and the tone length and the tone volume can be influenced.
  • the percussion is a drum or tom or an instrument that can be covered with one or more skins made of animal skins, plastic or other thin material.
  • the bracket or its legs can have one or more internal cavities.
  • the cavities influence the natural frequency of the bracket and thus also the damping or lengthening of the tone length with otherwise the same external dimensions of the bracket and the same setting of the connecting element.
  • the inner cavities can, for example, be several bores of the same or different diameter in the bracket, which extend perpendicular to the plane of curvature of the bracket.
  • the Figures 1 to 3 show a device 1 for a drum 2 with a fastening end 20 which is screwed to a fastening plate or fastening block (not visible) arranged on the inside of the boiler 8.
  • the device 3 for changing the pitch of the drum kit 2 consists essentially of a bow 5 which is split in the longitudinal direction and is open at one end, and which thus consists of two essentially identical, parallel legs 4a, 4b.
  • the drum 2 equipped with the device 1 is generally also referred to as a drum kit 100 for us.
  • a replaceable, solid connection part is attached to the end of the bracket in an extension of the attached end of the bracket 5 in a self-supporting manner (that is, not in contact with the cup).
  • connection part also has an influence on the attack and decay behavior (tone length, timbre, etc.) and can be exchanged for other connection parts of a different mass or made of a different material or with a different structure, in order to be able to additionally influence the on and decay behavior of the device according to the invention .
  • the end of the bracket 5 is detachably connected, in particular by means of screws 17, to the boiler 8 of the drum 2 or a tom.
  • an adjustable fastening device or connecting element 6 is arranged, to which a support arm or a floor support 7 is connected, which can be supported on the floor.
  • the device 3 of the drum kit 100 is designed as a shaped bracket 5 and forms an arc of a circle which is adapted to the outer circumference of a wall 8 of the drum kit 2 and runs at a distance from the outside or the wall of the drum kit 2, preferably parallel along the circumference of the kettle 8.
  • the bracket runs approximately horizontally with respect to the standing surface of the drum kit, more precisely parallel to the plane of the batter head 16.
  • the connecting element 6 for the floor support 7 is mounted continuously displaceably along the bracket 5 and can be clamped at any point on the bracket 5 with the aid of a clamping device, for example a quick release 19.
  • the fastening device or the connecting element 6 has a clamping device with two flange parts 9, 10, the mutually facing surfaces of which have recesses, the cross-section of which is preferably adapted to the cross-section of the legs 4 a and 4 b of the bracket 5, so that the flanges 9, 10 When pressing together, clamp onto the legs 4a and 4b of the bracket 5 by means of a quick-release lever 19 or the like. and after loosening the quick release lever 19 can be moved continuously on the bracket 5.
  • the fastening device or the connecting element 6 has an opening 12 in which a support arm or the floor support 7 can be received and continuously fixed in height with the aid of an adjusting screw 11.
  • Bracket 5 is rigidly and / or also adjustably attached to the wall of the shell 8 of the drum kit 100.
  • Figure 3 can be seen from the inside of the boiler through the bracket end in threaded bores of the bracket end fastening screws 17 which pass through a fastening plate, not shown here on the inside of the boiler 8.
  • connection part 13 consists of two essentially identical, spaced apart blocks 13 which are separated from one another by the spacer 21, which also serves as a connecting plate and at the same time as a spacer 21 for the legs 4a, 4b of the bracket 5.
  • the legs 4a, 4b are braced with the spacer 21, the two blocks 13 of the connection part are adapted in shape to the spacer 21 (or vice versa) and extend arcuately and wedge-shaped at their end facing away from the bracket 5.
  • connection part 13 as a massive (and in this case relatively massive) extension of the bracket 5 can be formed from one or more parts that are connected to one another, as can be seen in the embodiment according to FIG Figure 4 can recognize.
  • the connection part consists of two blocks made of metal, in particular made of steel or stainless steel, which are separated from one another by a spacer 21.
  • the drum 2 and the bracket 5 function like a tuning fork as a flexural oscillator, the bracket 5 forms one half of the tuning fork, so to speak, the drum 2 the other half, although one leg of the tuning fork is fixed by the connecting element, which leads to a displacement of the structure-borne sound Phase leads, and positive and negative interference effects could occur.
  • All known devices for suspending drums only try to decouple the drum from the stand, while according to the present invention the ability to vibrate a suspension (in the form of the bracket 5) is expressly desired and can be varied in a targeted manner by adjusting the connecting element 6 on the bracket 5.
  • the invention is based on the idea of giving the boiler sufficient freedom of movement so that it can continue to oscillate for a correspondingly long time.
  • the connection of the boiler with a stand or a suspension is limited to the connection with one end of the bracket, which in turn has an adjustable distance from the connecting element 6, so that this end of the bracket can also oscillate. By adjusting the distance of the connecting element 6, this resonance behavior and thus the tone length (the sustain) is changed.
  • the pitch can also change slightly, but can be set in principle and largely independently of the pitch via the head tension.
  • the timbre and, more generally speaking, the attack and decay behavior can be effectively influenced in this way, with the connecting part, consisting of two blocks 13, which are provided as an extension of the attached temple end, also have a significant influence on this attack and decay behavior.
  • the totality of the drum and the device 3 for changing the tone length and / or pitch has the effect, for example, that a thick-walled drum shell can also sound like a thin-walled shell.
  • the Figures 2 and 3 each show a perspective view of the device 3 for adjusting the pitch of a drum kit 100 from different directions.
  • the device 1 consists essentially of a bracket 5 and a connecting element 6, which is displaceable on the bracket 5 and a connection of the bracket 5 with a (in the Figures 2 and 3 Can produce not shown stand or a stand rod 7 and at the same time also in the form of the flanges 9, 10 and the quick release 19 form a connecting element 6 that can be clamped on the bracket 5 at any position.
  • the bracket 5 and the connecting element 6 together form the device 3 for setting the tone length, which can be additionally modified by the connection part 13.
  • the bracket 5 can consist of one or two legs 4a, 4b which are arranged at a distance from one another and on which a connecting element 6 is slidably received.
  • the drum kit 100 described in the description and in the claims can be a drum 2 or tom or an instrument that is covered with one or more skins 16 made of animal skins 16, plastic or other thin material.
  • the drum kit described can be a cymbal.
  • the Figures 4a-c show two perspective views of a device 1 'with a device 3 for changing the tone length ( Figures 4a, b ) as well as a plan view from above of such a device ( Figure 4c ), each with a connecting part 13 and a connecting element 6.
  • This embodiment which in terms of its external shape and dimensions with the in The embodiment shown in the previous figures corresponds completely or at least to a large extent, differs from the previously described embodiments, among other things, in that the two legs 4a, 4b of the bracket 5 'each have a plurality of bores 18 which are perpendicular to the plane of curvature of the bracket 5 'extend.
  • the bores 18 have partially different diameters and in particular have a smaller diameter and a greater distance from one another approximately in the middle of the bracket 5 '.
  • the bores change the moment of inertia of the bracket 5 'and thus also its natural frequency together with the connecting element 6, which can be displaced and clamped along the bracket 51.
  • connection part 13 is formed in the form of a stack of identically shaped disks, which can, however, be separated by intermediate layers made of a different material and can each be put together differently, especially with different total mass.
