    a larger-caliber barrel (1) that can be exchanged for the smaller-caliber barrel (1') having a loading part (15) with a loading space length (17), wherein the larger-caliber barrel (1) has a loading space lengthening (20) compared with the loading space (17') of a smaller-caliber barrel (1'), while more or less maintaining a loading space diameter (16, 16') of the smaller-caliber barrel (1') to increase the performance of the weapon system (100), wherein the outer dimensions of the larger-caliber barrel (1) remain virtually unchanged compared with the smaller-caliber barrel (1') in the region of the loading part (15, 15').

  5. The combat vehicle as claimed in one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the loading space length (17) of the larger-caliber barrel (1) can be selected depending on an amount of propelling charge required.
  6. The combat vehicle as claimed in any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the combat vehicle is a battle tank.
