Description

The present invention relates to a seat comprising a seat support and a backrest. The term “seat” should be understood in its broadest definition, and encompasses chairs, armchairs, and more generally any piece of furniture provided with a seat and a back and adapted to receive a person in a seated position. The seat of the present invention will find a preferred application in the form of a chair or a wheelchair provided with wheels and / or casters allowing easy movement. The present invention will find preferred use with people having certain difficulties in passing from the seated position to the upright standing position.

Seats have already existed for a long time which make it easier to lift a person into a standing upright position. These seats can be provided with armrests on which the person can lean with his hands. Mention may also be made of seats whose seat is arranged in an elevated position in order to facilitate the passage into the vertical position. A particularly firm seat also makes it possible to promote the lifting of the person. These different seats of the prior art all the same require the seated person to provide a substantial effort to return to a standing upright position.

The documents WO2015 / 071616 , JP2001 / 170113 , JP2002 / 209947 , US2012 / 025572 and US5039165 all describe aid devices comprising a canvas (or straps) which can be stretched so as to take off from the seat which remains fixed. The fabric which is rolled up will stretch between the front edge of the seat and the top of the backrest, defining a slope. When a person is seated on this seat, the canvas which stretches is nevertheless deformed mainly by the seat of the person who will be received in an enveloping manner. Tensioning the fabric has the effect not only of raising the seat of the seated person vertically, but also of moving the seat of the seated person towards the front of the seat in order to position it as close as possible to the vertical of the seat. his feet. Thus, the stretched canvas fulfills a double function: firstly to lift the person's seat vertically, and second to push the person's seat towards the front of the seat. These two movements combined make it possible to raise a person in an upright standing position.

However, the downside of these assistive devices is that the person has a tendency to slip on the stretched canvas and may eventually fall to the ground, especially if the person is not strong enough in their legs. This comes from the fact that the canvas generates a horizontal component of thrust, which causes the canvas to behave like a slide on which the person can slide. It is therefore necessary for the person to rest on his legs to avoid slipping from the stretched canvas.

The object of the present invention is to remedy the drawbacks of the prior art by proposing a seat which makes it possible to raise a seated person in an upright standing position without providing the slightest effort, or at least a minimum effort. Another object of the present invention is to raise the seat of the seated person vertically, without urging the seat of the person forward in order to move his barycenter vertically with his feet resting on the ground. Yet another object of the invention is to be able to implement the invention on any commercial headquarters.

To achieve these aims, the present invention proposes that the seat comprises an aid device for raising a person seated on the seat into a vertical position, this aid device comprising a seat resting on the seat support and a canvas which sits on the seat. 'extends over the seat and back, this web comprising a traction end fixed to the seat and an opposite winding end engaged with winding means disposed at the rear of the seat, so that a winding of the canvas by the winding means has the effect of stretching the canvas so as to detach it from the seat and the backrest, the seat being mounted to pivot about a pivot axis arranged at the bottom of the backrest , so that the canvas has the effect of lifting the seat by causing it to pivot about the pivot axis.

By allowing the seat to pivot, its front edge moves upwards in an arc of a circle centered on the pivot axis. So the vertical upward movement of the seat of the seated person is amplified by the pivoting of the seat. Since the front edge of the seat moves substantially vertically at the start of the pivoting, the user's seat can be moved substantially vertically while being moved by the stretched canvas which pushes it towards the front edge of the seat. In other words, the combined upward and forward movement provided by the stretched canvas is amplified by the pivoting of the seat.

According to a practical embodiment, the seat comprises a rigid base defining a rear edge adjacent to the bottom of the backrest, an opposite front edge and two side edges, the pivot axis being disposed at the level of the rear edge of the rigid base, and a seat pad mounted on this rigid base, the traction end being attached to the rigid base near or at the front edge. The rigid base is supported on the seat support formed by the seat frame. The function of the seat upholstery is to guarantee a certain level of comfort for the seated person. On a conventional seat, the frame forms the seat support and the backrest, and these two elements meet at the bottom of the backrest corresponding to the rear of the seat. The seat pivot axis can be wedged at the bottom of the backrest which meets the rear of the seat support.

According to a preferred embodiment, the seat upholstery comprises a rear part secured to the rigid base and a front part which is mounted to pivot about a tilting axis located at the front edge, the traction end of the canvas being attached to the front part and / or front edge passing under the front part, so that the canvas has the effect of rotating the rigid base around the pivot axis and the front part around the axis tipping. Thus, the front part has an orientation which is different from the rear part, since it is urged to tilt by the stretched canvas. The person sitting on the seat will thus be moved forward by the stretched canvas so as to position his seat on the tilting front part. Under the action of the stretched canvas, the tilting front part will take an orientation facing the front of the seat, while the fixed rear part will take an orientation facing the backrest of the seat. seat. The person sitting on the tilting front part will therefore first be lifted substantially vertically due to the pivoting of the rigid base and be urged towards the front of the seat by the forward tilting of the front part. Since the front part is located, as its name suggests, at the front of the seat, the person is thus pushed at the level of his sitting forward and upwards so as to bring his sitting upright with his feet resting on the ground. Thanks to this tilting front part, the stretched canvas induces yet another movement which is added to that of the pivoting of the seat and that of the tension of the canvas. According to a practical embodiment, the rear part forms over approximately two thirds of the surface of the seat and the front part forms approximately one third of the surface of the seat. Of course, other proportions can be envisaged for the front part and the rear part.

According to another advantageous characteristic of the invention, the backrest is provided with a return roller over which the fabric passes to be returned to the winding means. This deflection roller can be removably installed on the top of the backrest, or else at the level of push handles in the case of a chair or a wheelchair. When the fabric is stretched, it extends substantially rectilinearly from the front edge of the seat to the return roller and from the return roller to the winding means.

According to another advantageous aspect of the invention, the seat can further comprise wheels provided with a locking system and unique control means for activating the winding means and the locking system in concert. It is in fact important that the seat is perfectly fixed when the seated person decides to actuate the lifting aid device in the vertical position. This is why it is useful to couple the wheel locking system to the activation of the winding means of the assistance device.

According to a practical embodiment, the winding means comprise a winding drum driven in rotation by a motor housed inside the winding drum. Winding means can be removably mounted on the seat frame, for example at the rear of the backrest or at the rear of the seat or below the seat at the level of the feet which are optionally fitted with wheels.

According to a practical embodiment, the pivot axis comprises two ends of the axis which bear on the frame of the seat at the level of the junction between the seat support and the backrest. It is thus extremely easy to set up the seat on a conventional seat.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the seat defines a seat frame forming the backrest and the seat support, in which the aid device, comprising the seat, the winding means, the canvas, and optionally a return roller, is removably mounted on the seat frame. It is in fact advantageous to be able to adapt the aid device of the present invention to any commercial seat, and this in a removable manner. To do this, it suffices to place the seat on the seat base support, to mount the return roller at the top of the backrest and to mount the winding means behind the seat.

The invention lies in the fact of using the tension of the canvas to rotate the seat, and even to tilt a front part of the seat. The removable mounting of the deflection roller and the winding means on the frame of a seat are advantageous secondary features. The correlation between the seat locking system and the activation of the winding means constitutes an interesting safety measure.

The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, giving, by way of non-limiting example, several embodiments of the invention.

The main function of the aid device of the present invention is to lift a person seated on a seat to a vertical position, resting on both feet. The purpose of the aid device of the invention is to be able to be installed or set up on any seat, including commercial seats.

We will first refer to the figure 1 to describe the structure of an aid device according to a preferred embodiment, implemented on a chair. In a completely conventional manner, this chair comprises a seat support S1, a backrest S2 and several legs S3 intended to rest on the ground. This is a very classic and conventional structure for a chair. Optionally, this chair also includes two wrists S22 which extend in the extension of the top of the backrest S2 with a substantially horizontal and parallel orientation.

The aid device, according to this preferred embodiment, comprises a seat 1 which is arranged on the seat support S1, winding means 3 which are arranged at the back of the chair, a canvas 2 which extends from the seat 1 to the winding means 3 and optionally a return roller 4 which is mounted at the top of the backrest S2, for example at the level of the wrists S22.

With reference to the figure 6 , we see the seat A in more detail. It comprises a rigid base 11 which can be formed by a solid plate, possibly perforated, or by a frame made up of bars or rods assembled. This rigid base 11 comprises a rear edge which is intended to be positioned at the level of the chair where the seat support S1 joins the backrest S2. This rear edge is advantageously provided with two ends of axes 12a which point outwards in an opposite manner, but nevertheless aligned, so as to define a pivot axis 12 visible on the figure 1 . The rigid base 11 also forms two parallel side edges and a front edge which forms a tilting axis 13. The pivoting axis 12 and the tilting axis 13 thus extend parallel, respectively at the rear edges and front of the rigid base 11. The seat 1 also comprises a seat upholstery which forms, in this preferred embodiment, a rear part 14 integral with the rigid base 11 and a front part 15 which is connected to the rigid base 11 by the tilting axis 13, so that this front part 15 can perform in motion in an arc of a circle relative to the rigid base 11 around the tilting axis 13. This is easily understandable from the view of the figure 6 . The seat upholstery as a whole increases the comfort of the user by allowing a certain deformation. The front part 15 comprises a rigid base 16, the front edge of which is connected to the tilting axis 13. When the front part 15 is placed to rest on the fixed base 11, the seat upholstery is complete and the user does not not perceive that this seat upholstery is divided into two distinct parts. According to an advantageous embodiment, the rear part 14 occupies two thirds of the seat, while the front part 15 occupies one third of the seat. These proportions are not, however, limiting. The rear 14 and front 15 parts could very well be formed with substantially identical dimensions.

Returning to the figure 1 , we can see that the seat 1 of the figure 6 is arranged on the seat resting on the seat support S1, with the pivot axis 12 which is arranged at the angle formed by the rear of the seat support S1 and the bottom of the backrest S2. The ends of axes 12a can very simply be housed in this angle and be supported both on the seat support S1 vertically and against the backrest S2 horizontally. The seat 1 can thus be freely positioned on the chair without providing other means for securing it to the chair. However, it is not excluded that the seat 1 can be made integral with the chair, for example at its ends of axes 12a. One can also imagine that the rigid base 11 can be made integral with the seat support S1 in a reversible manner, to allow the seat 1 to pivot relative to the chair.

The winding means 3 are here removably mounted by means of a fixing bracket 31 to the rear legs S3 of the chair. The winding means 3 are fixed at a distance from the seat support S1, but it would also be conceivable to have the winding means 3 with the fixing console 31 just below the seat support S1 at the top of the rear legs. S3. Without departing from the scope of the invention, it is also possible to mount the winding means 3 at the rear of the backrest S2. The winding means comprise a winding drum which is driven in rotation by a motor which is advantageously housed inside the winding drum. Thus, the winding means have a compact and discreet structure which does not harm the aesthetics of the chair.

De là, la toile 2 est renvoyée directement sur le côté arrière de la chaise aux moyens d'enroulement 3.The canvas 2 can be made of any material, provided that it is flexible and resistant to traction. The fabric can be made with a fabric formed of warp and weft threads or with a flexible sheet. The fabric 2 comprises a front traction end 21 which is fixed to the seat 1 and a rear winding end 23 which is opposite the traction end 21 and which is in engagement with the winding drum of the means of winding 3. Thus, the fabric 2 can be wound on the drum winding of the winding means 3 so as to create a tension which will act on the seat 1, as will be seen below. The traction end 21 can be fixed at the level of the front edge of the rigid base 11, close to the tilting axis 13. The internal traction end can also be fixed to the rigid base 16 of the front part 15. You can see on the figure 1 that the fabric 2 covers the rear lining 14, passes between the two linings 14 and 15 and then extends under the front lining 15. Whatever the location where the traction end 21 is exactly fixed, it must cause the tilting of the front part 15 relative to the fixed base 11. The canvas 2 also extends over the backrest S2 in the extension of the rear part 14 of the lining. Then, the canvas 2 passes over the return roller 4 which is detachably fixed by means of another fixing bracket 41 on the wrists S2 of the chair. From there, the canvas 2 is returned directly to the rear side of the chair to the winding means 3.

Thus, when a person is seated on this chair, his seat rests on the part of the canvas 2 which covers the rear part 14 of the upholstery. His back rests against the part of the canvas 2 which covers the backrest S2 and his thighs rest on the front part 15 which is not covered by the canvas 2. Due to its flexibility, the canvas 2 does not cause any discomfort for the patient. the person sitting in the chair. On the contrary, it can even participate in the comfort of the person because of its deformability.

We will now refer successively to the figures 2, 3, 4 and 5 to describe the operation of the aid device which has just been described with reference to the figures 1 and 6 . For reasons of simplicity, the chair has been shown without a person seated on it to fully understand the different phases generated by the pulling of the canvas 2.

Son séant est en outre déplacé de la partie arrière 14 vers la partie avant 15.With reference to the figure 2 , we see that the canvas 2 has been put under tension by the winding means 3, so that it is already detached from the rear part 14 and from the backrest S2. The canvas 2 then extends in a substantially rectilinear manner from the seat 1 to the return roller 4. More precisely, the canvas 2 is stretched, but the seat 1 has not yet changed position. During this first phase, the person sitting on the chair nevertheless perceives the tension of the fabric 2 which has the effect of taking off its back from the backrest S2. In other words, the seated person is urged forward. Its seat is further moved from the rear part 14 to the front part 15.

On the figure 3 , the canvas 2 is further stretched, so that it coats the forward tilting of the front part 15 of the seat around the tilting axis 13. When a person is seated on the chair, this tilting is less pronounced because the person's seat rests on the front part 15. However, a slight detachment of the front part 15 may be noticeable during this phase. In any case, the tension of the fabric 2 which has increased can place even more strain on the seat of the person seated towards and on the front part 15. One can clearly see on the figure 3 that the traction end 21 of the canvas 2 is located under the front part 15.

On the figure 4 , the tension of the canvas 2 is further increased so as to cause the seat 1 to pivot around the pivot axis 12. It can in fact be seen that the rigid base 11 is detached from the seat support S1, except at the level of the pivot axis 12. Since the angle formed between the rigid base 11 and the seat support S1 is small, the movement of the front part 15 is substantially vertical with a very small horizontal component. The front part 15 is always tilted forwards around the tilting axis 13. On the other hand, the rear part 14 is now oriented towards the backrest S2, due to the pivoting of the seat 1. Thus, the front part 15 and the rear part 14 have divergent orientations. During this phase, the person seated on the chair has undergone a substantially vertical rise in his or her seat which is supported on the front part 15. The increased tension of the fabric 2 places even greater strain on the user's seat on the. front part 15. We can even say that the user's seat rests only on the front part 15. As a result, the user's legs, whose feet rest on the ground, have already unfolded due to the moving forward and upward from his seat.

On the figure 5 , the assistance device is in its final lifting position. It can be seen that the seat 1 has become even more detached from the seat support S1, with the pivot axis 12 resting at the junction between the seat support S2 and the backrest S2. The angle between the seat support S1 and the rigid base 11 is here of the order of 30 °, so that the front part 15 has mostly moved upwards and very little rearward. The orientation of the front part 15 is always the same, that is to say towards the front while the rear part 14 has accentuated its orientation turned towards the backrest S2. The angle between the front part 15 and the fixed base 11 has further increased, and is now of the order of 45 °. In this final phase, the person sitting on the seat is almost in an upright standing position, since the front part 15 is now arranged at such a height from the ground that the user's legs are almost fully extended and his or her sitting only rests on the front edge of the front part 15. The forward orientation of the front part 15 urges the person's seat forward so that it is positioned substantially vertically above the feet resting on the ground. Thus, the standing position is reached or close to it. The person has virtually no additional effort to achieve a standing upright position.

We have just seen that the tensioning of the fabric 2 generates several combined effects which come successively or cumulatively from:
  • direct stress on the fabric on the user's back and seat,
  • the pivoting of the seat 1 around the pivot axis 12, and
  • the tilting of the front part 15 around the tilting axis 13.

Thanks to these associated stresses, the person is successively detached from his backrest, pushed forward, moved upwards, and finally released into a vertical position.

The embodiment which has just been described is a preferred embodiment, but the spirit of the present invention can more simply be implemented in a simpler embodiment which is shown in the figure. figure 7 . In this simplified embodiment, the seat 1 'is fixed with respect to to the seat support S1. In other words, no movement or displacement is possible between the seat 1 'and the seat support S1. The seat 1 'can be an integral part of the chair. On the other hand, the aid device of this simplified model still comprises a canvas 2, winding means 3 and a return roller 4 which may be similar or identical to those of the first embodiment. The fabric 2 is fixed by its traction end 21 at the level of the front edge of the seat 1 ', while its winding end 23 is fixed to the winding means 3. As a variant, the traction end 21 can also be attached at the top of the S3 legs of the chair. It is then easily understood that putting the canvas 2 under tension has the effect of taking it off from the backrest S2 and from the seat 1 '. A person seated on this chair will thus be urged forwards upwards due to the inclined orientation of the canvas 2 between the seat 1 'and the return roller 4. The person sitting on this chair cannot be not be fully raised in a vertical position, as in the first preferred embodiment of the invention, but this simplified aid device still makes it possible to facilitate the lifting of the person in a vertical position, the person having to provide a certain effort to reach the vertical position.

With reference to the figure 8 , we see a conventional wheelchair equipped with the preferential assistance device for figures 1 to 6 . In a very classic way, this wheelchair includes large S4 rear wheels and two small S5 front wheels. Seat 1 may be the same or similar to that of figures 1 to 6 . The return roller 4 is here removably attached to the upper end of the backrest S2. For example, the return roller 4 can include removable fixing pins which penetrate inside the ends of the tubes forming the frame of the backrest S2. The winding means 3 can be identical or similar to those of the first preferred embodiment of the figures 1 to 6 . They include a winding drum 30 around which the fabric 2 is wound by the action of a motor 32 which is housed inside the winding drum 30. winding means 3 are fixed to the means of removable fixing brackets 31 to a bar constituting the frame of the wheelchair.

We will now refer to figures 9 to 11 which show another wheelchair equipped with the same or similar assistive device as the figures 1 to 6 . This wheelchair also includes large S4 rear wheels and small S5 front wheels. It also includes S6 armrests and an S7 locking system which acts here on the large S4 rear wheels to lock them in rotation. In this embodiment which is even more accomplished, the aid device further comprises control means 5 arranged at an armrest S6. The control means 5 can for example be mounted on a flexible tube 51 allowing easy spatial positioning. The control means 5 are connected by a cable 52 to the winding means 3, as well as by other cables 52 to the locking system S7. Thus, when the user actuates these single control means 5, he simultaneously activates the blocking means S7 and the winding means S3. This ensures that the chair is perfectly fixed and stable when the person actuates the aid device of the invention. The assistive device is in the rest position on the figures 9 and 10 , while it is in the final lift position on the figure 11 . Advantageously, the tilting front part 15 can be covered with a non-slip material to promote the attachment of the seat of the person.

By virtue of the assisting device of the present invention, a person can be called upon, or even perfectly brought back, into an upright position raised from a seated position. An interesting aspect of the invention lies in the fact that this aid device is completely removable, so that it can be adapted to any type of seat.
