Description

The invention relates, according to the preamble of claim 1, to an awning with a fabric curtain, two lateral guide rails and two side posts which support the guide rails, the fabric curtain being able to be wound on a winding shaft having a water-permeable area through which precipitation falling on the fabric curtain can flow off .

Such an awning is from the DE 20 2004 014 799 U1 known. The water-permeable area is introduced into the curtain either by forming holes through a special weaving technique in the manufacture of the curtain or by subsequently punching out drainage openings. The disadvantage of this solution is that the water drips down through the cloth more or less uncontrollably, so that the usable area below the extended awning is restricted when it rains.

To solve this problem has already been solved by DE 20 2014 003 825 U1 proposed not to perform the drainage through openings in the cloth curtain, but via the drop profile. For this purpose, the drop profile is located at the top of the place where the cloth curtain enters the fall profile through openings through which precipitation can flow into the interior of the fall profile. Due to a lateral inclination, the water can then flow out through a spout at the lower end of the fall professional. It has been shown, however, that with this system a not inconsiderable minimum inclination of the curtain towards the fall profile must be observed, so that there is no water sack formation at a distance from the fall profile, since the cloth bulges downwards quickly under the load of the draining water can if the water cannot be drained quickly enough.

More cloth curtains with water-permeable sections are from the DE 10 2011 112 93 A 1, the DE 10 2009 057 224 A1 or the GB 2 446 864 A known. All of these embodiments have the night part that the drainage takes place with little control over a part of the area actually covered by the cloth curtain, water splashes and puddles forming on the floor further restrict the usability.

The post-published EP 3 299 538 A1 shows a tiltless awning, which is arranged in a frame. The US 2008/135187 A1 shows an awning in which drainage means are attached to the fabric, which can also have the shape of a channel. The EP 2 343 418 A1 shows an awning, the drainage takes place via the drop profile.

The object of the invention is to improve an awning of the type mentioned in such a way that a controlled water drainage is achieved even with awnings with a weak incline.

Ausgestaltungen sind Gegenstand der Ansprüche 2 bis 10.Main features of the invention are set out in the characterizing part of claim 1. Refinements are the subject of claims 2 to 10.

In the case of an awning of the type mentioned at the outset, the solution according to the invention provides that at least one drainage channel is provided below the water-permeable area, which has a lateral outlet, the drainage channel running parallel to the drop profile. On the one hand this results in a uniform drainage and on the other hand the visual appearance is balanced and.
The water-permeable area is then, of course, arranged as a sequence of holes or openings or as a strip parallel to the end of the cloth curtain, the drainage channel being supported on the two posts and / or the two guide rails.

The solution according to the invention offers the advantage that the water flowing through the water-permeable area no longer drips uncontrollably onto the surface under the cloth curtain but can be guided away to the side in a controlled manner by means of the drainage channel.

This support on the posts and / or guide rails has the advantage, among other things, that the drainage channel additionally stiffens the supporting structure, so that the remaining parts of the supporting structure can be made slimmer, if necessary.

Two or more drainage channels spaced apart from one another can be expedient in the case of particularly large fabric curtain lengths, or two aligned channels that drain to different sides can be provided.
In a preferred development, it is advisable for the water-permeable area to be arranged in an area which is narrower than the drainage channel underneath. In this way, on the one hand, the water-permeable area is not visibly covered when the fabric curtain is extended, and on the other hand, it effectively prevents individual drops of water from falling past the drainage channel onto the covered area.

In the arrangement between the two posts, it is provided in a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention that the lateral outlet opens into a downpipe in one of the posts or directly into a hollow post, the drainage channel being able to have a slope towards this post got to. A slope promotes drainage, but it is functionally sufficient if the drainage channel is horizontal and, for example, only overflows from a certain level in the drainage channel and the water is discharged laterally into one or both posts.

The measure of dewatering via at least one post continues the controlled dewatering via an internally hollow post or via a downpipe which is arranged in the hollow post, down to the bottom area. High-lying gargoyles, which emit the water from the side in a visible and noisy manner, are avoided as a result, but represent a simple alternative, e.g. also if the water is to be collected in a barrel.

The slope of the drainage channel can be achieved by an inclination of the entire awning towards the drainage post, by making this post a little shorter, or the drainage channel can be installed inclined relative to the awning, but visually can be conspicuous. A two-part drainage channel can provide that the actual channel is arranged inclined in a horizontally oriented screen profile.

The controlled drainage can preferably be continued in the floor area in that the post provided for drainage has a defined water drainage in its foot area.

In a further, particularly preferred embodiment of the invention it is provided that the water-permeable area is formed by a lattice structure incorporated into the cloth curtain. In principle, however, openings in the water-permeable area are also possible, as are known from the prior art, i.e. punched openings or openings formed during the manufacture of the cloth fabric. A lattice structure, e.g. even a coarse-mesh fabric has the advantage over these simple openings that it allows quite large opening cross-sections, but still has good strength properties.

In a further embodiment of the invention it is provided that the water-permeable area is arranged at a distance from the drop profile. It has been shown that the precipitation can be optimally removed with this arrangement.

In a still further embodiment of the invention it is provided that the water-permeable area lies at the deepest point of the completely extended cloth curtain. This lowest position can only be reached when the precipitation falls on the cloth curtain, because it then sags slightly at a distance from the fall profile.

Basically, the invention can be used with all types of awnings. It is also suitable for so-called ZIP awnings, in which the fabric curtain is guided in the guide rails over its entire extension length via guide elements attached to its lateral edges.

Further features, details and advantages of the invention emerge from the wording of the claims and from the following description of exemplary embodiments with reference to the drawings. Show it:
Fig. 1

Fig. 2
a cross section of the drainage channel of the awning Fig. 1 .

Fig. 1 shows a simplified oblique view of an awning 10, which is also referred to as a pergola awning in the embodiment shown here. The awning 10 has, for example, a housing 12 mounted on a building body, not shown, in which a winding shaft 14 is rotatably mounted. An electrical drive motor is also provided in the housing 12 and is arranged, for example, as a tubular motor in the winding shaft.

On the winding shaft 10, a cloth curtain 14 can be wound, at the end of which a falling profile 16 is arranged. The drop profile 16 is guided in the lateral guide rails 18, and depending on the design of the cloth curtain 14, this can also be guided in the lateral guide rails. In such an embodiment, guide elements are then attached to the side edge of the curtain and run in undercut grooves in the guide rails 18. As said, the invention is also suitable for awnings in which the fabric curtain itself is not guided in the guide rails 18, but only the drop profile 16.

The guide rails 18 can be connected to one another via a transverse profile (not visible) and supported on the floor side by means of posts 22. The posts 22, the transverse profile, the guide rails 18 and the housing 12 thus form a self-supporting assembly with its attachment on the building side.

The cloth curtain 14 consists essentially of a waterproof cloth, so that the awning 10 can be used to protect the area under the cloth curtain when it is raining so that it can continue to be used even when it starts to rain. In order to be able to discharge the falling precipitation in a controlled manner, a water-permeable region 24 is provided in the cloth curtain 16, which is designed here as a transverse strip which is narrow in comparison to the entire cloth length and has a lattice structure 30 between the two side edges of the cloth curtain 16. The water permeability can also be achieved through any type of openings in this strip, the cross section of which is sufficient to allow the expected amount of water to pass through.

Below the water-permeable area 24, a drainage channel 26 is provided, which is wider than the water-permeable area 24, so that it is covered on the one hand by the drainage channel 26 and on the other hand, no water can fall past the channel 26 onto the floor. The drainage channel is fastened to the two posts 22, whereby it can have a slope to the post arranged on the right-hand side in the sense of the illustration. Due to the gradient, the water collected by the drainage channel 26 flows more quickly in the direction of this right-hand post 22, but in principle the gradient can also be formed in the other direction if the drainage is to take place via the left-hand post. Without a slope, drainage is at least at a certain point Level is also possible when the water level has reached the lower edge of the entry opening in the post.

It is also possible that not the drainage channel 26 is arranged relatively inclined to the cloth curtain, but rather that the entire system is arranged inclined by a shortened post on the drainage side, so that the drainage channel lies parallel to the cloth curtain. This also results in an inconspicuous visual appearance, since the slight inclination of the entire system is practically imperceptible.

The drainage channel 26 is arranged in the region of a lateral opening on the post, through which the water collected by the cloth curtain 14 can flow into a downpipe inside the post 22. In a simplified embodiment, the cavity of the post 22 can also be used directly as a downpipe.

In the foot region of the post 22 there is a lateral water outlet 28 which is connected to the downpipe and enables a defined lateral water drainage, e.g. into a drain or a septic tank. The water can also be collected for further use.

In Fig. 2 a cross section of the awning in the area of the drainage channel 26 is shown. The post 22 lying in the viewing direction can be seen, but this is not used for drainage here.

The drainage channel here consists of a simple C-profile, which has a large cross-section for the water drainage. The drop profile 16 guided in the guide rail 18 lying in the viewing direction, which forms the lower end of the fabric curtain 16 and in, can also be clearly seen Fig. 2 is shown in its lowest end position. In this end position, the water-permeable area 24 lies, the lattice structure 30 in Fig. 2 becomes clear, directly in the middle above the drainage channel 26, so that the water flowing through the lattice structure can be collected safely and completely by the drainage channel 26.

The invention is not limited to one of the above-described embodiments, but can be modified in many ways.

For example, embodiments with two or more water-permeable areas and a corresponding number of drainage channels are also conceivable. This can be an advantage for particularly long curtains.

The drainage does not necessarily have to be through the awning's posts. The water can also be dispensed through separate downpipes or simple side spouts.

Drainage is also possible through a suitably designed chamber in at least one of the guide rails, which then releases the water into the posts or a gargoyle at the end of the guide rail.
