Bislang erfolgt das Justieren durch Auskeilen des Zwischenraums zwischen dem Fertigteilfuß und den Seitenwänden des Köcherfundaments, was bei sehr schweren, überhängenden Fertigteilen, etwa bogenförmige Schallschutzelemente mit bis zu 7,5 Meter Höhe und 12 Tonnen Masse, einerseits schwierig, anderseits unbefriedigend ist. Die meist aus Holz bestehenden Keile verbleiben nämlich beim Umgießen des Fertigteilfußes im Beton und ergeben mit diesen bekanntlich nicht so eine gute Verbindung wie etwa Stahlkeile. Letztere werden aber kaum verwendet, da die oberen Ränder der Seitenwände des Köcherfundaments bei starker Druckbelastung einreißen oder abbröckeln, was selbst bei Verwendungen von Holzkeilen auftritt, wenn - wie bei schweren, überhängenden Fertigteilen der Fall - einseitig starke Kräfte auftreten. Das Justieren mit Keilen ist bei hoch aufkragenden Fertigteilen auch deswegen schwierig, da geringste Schwankungen (z.B. 1 Millimeter) im Fußbereich des Fertigteils zu großen Änderungen (z.B. 100 Millimeter) im Kopfbereich führen können.
