Description

Domaine technique de l'inventionTechnical field of the invention

The invention relates to a harness consisting of textile straps, and having at least one connection and retaining point shaped according to a closed loop of textile material defining an opening for the passage of a carabiner or other connector. Such a harness is used for the safety of people in the work at height.

Etat de la techniqueState of the art

Most of the harnesses for working at height, has in addition to the central tie-in bridge, side connection points for holding and retaining when using these side points in a working position of the user.

These connection points are made in a known manner:
  • either by strap loops arranged on the belt strap. These loops are light, not prominent and allow a good orientation of the connectors of the lanyard for maintenance at work. On the other hand, these loops of straps have the disadvantage of being less ergonomic to connect, because of their flexibility, and having a deformable and reduced opening which complicates the installation of the connectors. Frequent use may also cause premature wear of the belt strap.
  • either by metal dice each mounted in a loop sewn on the belt strap. The advantage of these metal dies rigid structure is to be easy to connect because the opening is large and not deformable. But the disadvantage of such a die is to be prominent and likely to cling to the outer elements, to be heavier, and to guide the connectors of the lanyard in a direction perpendicular to the belt. Such an orientation of the connectors is not ideal during staggered work restraints. In addition, the coming into engagement of the metal dice on the hips of the user, may cause an annoying compression point, to the detriment of comfort for the user.

The document CH695542 relates to a climbing shorts having a belt connected to a pair of leg loops, and a central tie-bar connecting the two leg loops, and having an arch form. The trigger guard is protected by an anti-wear part made of thermoplastic material, or fiber composite. The document EP 1 849 502 A1 relates to a harness with a connecting piece, which is stiffened and protected by a semi-rigid insert.

Objet de l'inventionObject of the invention

The object of the invention is to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks, and to make a safety harness for work at height, having functional and ergonomic connection points that are easy to connect, while improving the comfort of maintaining work.

The harness according to the invention is characterized in that the opening of the textile loop is stiffened by a rigid or semi-rigid insert, which is configured to facilitate the installation of the connector, said insert comprising a base surface secured to the carrying structure of the harness for transmitting and distributing the forces when the user is in a work-holding position.

According to a preferred embodiment, the insert comprises a plastic shell having an internal orifice adaptable to the opening of the textile loop, and guide means for the path of the textile loop during its winding in the shell.

According to one characteristic of the invention, the base surface of the hull and loop assembly is sewn onto the carrying structure of the harness.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the loop of the connection point is arranged on the lateral and / or rear part of the belt strap,
Preferably, the loop is made in continuity with an intermediate portion of the belt strap. The path of the strap in the shell of the insert contributes to the connection being made inside the belt strap.
The insert has an Omega shape, with a base surface surmounted by a bow to form said internal holding hole, said base being sewn on the padding strip by seams.
The belt strap advantageously comprises at least two lateral connection points located on either side of the central point of attachment, the assembly being configured to distribute the holding tension over the entire height of the harness.

According to an alternative embodiment, the loop of the connection point can be manufactured with an auxiliary strap separate from the main belt strap.

The shell of the insert includes a base surface configured to provide a lateral attachment point, or ventral or sternal.

This stiffening function of the connection loops by the shell of the insert can be implemented in any type of safety harness for work at height.

The invention thus applies to a sit harness with or without torso harness, and also to a simple seat belt at work without shorts and without torso.

Description d'un mode particulier de réalisationDescription of a particular embodiment

Referring to the figures, a safety harness 10 for work at height, is achieved by the interweaving of textile straps, comprising a belt 11 surrounding the size of the user, and a pair of thighs 12. The belt 11 comprises a padding strip 13 flexible, for example foam, which is sewn on a belt strap 14 of high mechanical strength to ensure the mechanical strength of the belt 11. The belt strap 14 is narrower than the strip 13 and is endowed at the front of a fastening buckle 15 openable to open and close the front of the belt 11. The belt strap 14 is connected to the leg loops 12 by a connecting ring, which can be associated with a bridge constituting a central stitching point.

The belt strap 14 further comprises at least one additional connection and retention point 16, which is offset laterally with respect to the central point of attachment and to the attachment loop 15. This additional connection and retention point 16 is shaped according to a closed loop 17 of textile material defining an opening 18 for the passage of a connector 19, for example a carabiner of a lanyard 20 or safety rope. The additional connection and retention point 16 makes it possible to support the user when necessary. The connection and retaining point 16 is formed by a strap to ensure good mechanical strength in a compact manner and without excessive overweight.

According to the invention, the opening 18 of the textile loop 17 is stiffened by an insert 21 ( Figures 4 and 5 ) rigid or semi-rigid, which is configured to facilitate the introduction of the connector 19, and to distribute the holding voltage when the user is in the working position. The insert 21 comprises, by way of example, a plastic shell 22 having an internal orifice 23 which is non-deformable and adaptable to the opening 18 of the textile loop 17. The periphery of the shell 22 is provided with guide means 24a, 24b for the routing of the textile loop 17 during its winding in the shell 22. Preferably, this loop 17 is manufactured in continuity with an intermediate portion of the strap of 14. For example, the same strap forms the textile loop 14 and the belt or shoulder strap of the harness. The insert 21 ensures that the opening 18 of the loop represents a minimum surface compatible with the insertion of a connector 19. In other words, the insert is not configured to support the weight of the user. when if it is maintained only by the insert 21, that is to say without the strap. The material forming the insert 21 may be unsuitable and / or the attachment of the insert on the carrying structure of the harness may not be configured to support the weight of the user.

The mechanical strength is provided by the textile material which defines the opening 18. The insert retransmits the forces to the textile material. The insert 21 is configured for the loop of textile material does not close on itself which requires the user to use both hands to insert the connector 19 in the opening 18 and mechanically fix the connector 19 with the point connection and restraint 16.

The shell 22 of the insert 21 has a shape of Omega loop, with a base 25 slightly curved, and surmounted by a hoop 26 to form said internal orifice 23 for holding. It is advantageous to have a slightly curved base 25 to better adapt the morphology of the user's pelvis. The shell 22 prevents the loop of textile material to close on itself. In the illustrated embodiments, the textile loop is stretched or slightly tensioned in order to follow the shape defined by the shell 22 of the insert 21.

The passage of the strap 14 in the insert 21 is carried out as follows:
On the figure 4 the strap 14 is first folded on itself in the longitudinal direction in order to pass it through the guide means 24a of the arch 26. At its exit from the arch 26, it is unfolded to take up the normal width of the strap 14, and spring through the left end of the base 25, to form a loop 27 U. The extension of the loop 27 then passes in the opposite direction in the guide means 24b to emerge by the right end of the base 25. In this manner, the strap 14 forms a closed loop and the insert 21 is located in the closed loop. Advantageously, the closed textile loop 17 is kept closed by any suitable means, for example by sewing.

On the figures 5 and 6 , after introducing an additional adjustment loop 28 in the loop 27, the entire loop 17 textile and shell 22 of the figure 4 is attached to the padding strip 13 of the belt 11 by means of various seams 29, 30 to form the reinforced connection point 16. In the example shown, the loop 27 is an end loop which is used to secure a device for adjusting the circumference of the strap 28, for example a device for adjusting the circumference of the belt or shoulder strap. The end loop forms one end of the strap.

According to one embodiment of the figure 3 , the strap 14 is a belt strap which has at least two lateral connection points 16 located on either side of the central fastening loop, the assembly being configured to symmetrically distribute the holding tension over the entire height of the belt 11.

An additional connection point may also be provided at the back of the waist strap 14.

The figure 1 shows how a user is secured when climbing along a pylon 31. It surrounds the safety lanyard 20 around a section of the vertical upright of the pylon 31, and hooks the two opposite ends of the lanyard 20 at the two points 16 of the lateral connection of the belt 11 by means of connectors 19. This results in a state of maintenance at work that allows the user to work safely. An anti-fall device 32 is placed further behind the harness 10, and cooperates with a rope 33 to block any fall of the user.

In the illustrated example, the openings 18 are through holes in a cutting plane comprising the longitudinal axis of the strap, for example the longitudinal axis of the belt. The cutting plane can be a horizontal plane when the user is standing. The connectors are then naturally placed in their working position without twisting the loop of the strap that forms the connection point. The connectors apply a force on the insert and this force is distributed over a larger area by means of the insert 21. The comfort is improved. The surface of the opening 18 is defined by the insert which tends the textile loop so that the fastening points of the strap are always homogeneously stressed.

The figure 2 illustrates an enlarged view of the connector 19 connection of the lanyard 20. The arch 26 of the insert 21 extends along the belt strap 14, which allows the connector 19 to be placed substantially parallel to the 11. The plastic shell 22 stiffens the structure of the loop 17, and maintains the opening 18 of the textile loop 17, which facilitates the connection of the connector 19. The shell 22 ensures that the opening 18 has a minimum surface which facilitates cooperation with a connector.

On the figure 6 it is noted that the width of the base 25 of the shell 22 of the connection point 16 distributes the retaining tension exerted by the lanyard 20 on the back of the belt. This distribution P of the tension is exerted over the entire height of the padding strip 13, that is to say on a height greater than that of the belt strap 14. The use of these 16 ergonomic connection points ensures optimum comfort at work. It is particularly advantageous to have a base 25 whose width is greater than the width of the strap 14 and possibly less than the width of the padding strip. The width is measured in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the strap, here in a direction perpendicular to the arrows representing the tension P.

L'arceau 126 est incliné vers la gauche par rapport à la base 125.The figures 7 and 8 show an alternative embodiment of the connection point 116. The auxiliary strap 134 constituting the loop 117 is in this case separate from the main belt 14. The auxiliary strap 134 extends along the hoop 126 of the insert 121, and emerges from the base 125 of the shell 122 by being sewn onto the waist strap 14. The base 125 of the insert 121 is rectangular plate shape, which is sewn on the padding strip 13 of the belt by seams 29. The bow 126 is inclined to the left relative to the base 125.

It is possible to provide rigidized connection points on any other part of the harness, in particular to perform in addition to the lateral retention points at work, a fall protection connection point, or auxiliary retaining points, especially ventral and sternal. The base 25, 125 of the insert 21, 121 is configured specifically for each of these connection points.

The invention thus applies to a sit harness with or without torso harness, and also to a simple seat belt at work without shorts and without torso.
