Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a comminuting device for foodstuffs and a food processor with a comminuting device.
  • Devices known from the prior art for comminuting, in particular dicing, foodstuffs generally comprise a feed shaft through which a comminuted material can be filled and led to a comminution area.
  • the comminution area comprises a knife that can be rotated about an axis and a cutting grid with cutting elements, which cut up a pressed food essentially perpendicular to a cutting direction of the knife.
  • the shredding device can be set up to cut up a food first with the rotating knife and then with the cutting grid, or vice versa: this is the case with one of the documents DE 827 844 known dicer provided to push the material to be cut through a knife gate and thereby cut into strips, which are then cut to length by a knife.
  • the material to be cut is pressed through the cutting grid with the help of a pressure block.
  • a dice cutter is also known which comprises a knife which can be rotated over a grid.
  • the pamphlet DE 10 2008 040 937 A1 discloses a device for dividing, in particular for dicing work pieces, in which a rotating knife is set up to cut into the work piece and then - as a result of an inclined position of the knife - drive a cut or incised part itself through the cutting grid, whereby the Part is then in turn divided into a plurality of pieces. In this way, the pressing of the material to be processed through a cutting gate is automated.
  • the cutting gate is inserted into a housing element with a flat top, over which the knife is guided with each rotation when it has passed the cutting gate;
  • the terms "above” and “below” and their derivatives are always to be understood in this document in relation to the intended alignment of the respective device.
  • Rotating the knife above a cutting grid has the disadvantage that the cutting process becomes imprecise in an edge area of the feed chute because the rotating knife drives the cut material in this area into the gap provided for the knife under an edge surface of the feed chute instead of pushing it through the cutting grid.
  • the cutting process becomes imprecise in an edge area of the feed chute because the rotating knife drives the cut material in this area into the gap provided for the knife under an edge surface of the feed chute instead of pushing it through the cutting grid.
  • it can take on an undesirable shape or even block the knife when it enters the gap, which can lead to gear damage.
  • US2010 / 0154660 forms the basis for the preamble of claim 1.
  • the present invention aims to provide a technique with which these disadvantages can be avoided.
  • the cutting grid comprises a plurality of cutting elements and a plurality of passage openings formed between the cutting elements for a food item to be comminuted.
  • the cutting grid is fixed or fixable in a position fixed against rotation against each other, in which every point of the knife that can pass a central area of the exit when the knife rotates, immediately after it has passed the exit (in particular before it is for the respective round leaves an area above the cutting grid in order to later run again from the other side under the exit and to pass it again) still runs over at least one section of at least one of the passage openings.
  • the cutting grid thus undercuts the exit of the feed chute in the direction of rotation of the knife.
  • the central area of the exit preferably comprises at least one circular area (located within the exit), the area of which comprises at least a quarter, preferably at least a third, more preferably at least half of the area of the cross-sectional area of the exit.
  • the center of the circular area is preferably in the geometric center of gravity of the cross section of the outlet (in the case of an elliptical cross section in the center of the main axis).
  • Every point of the knife which can pass the exit when the knife rotates immediately thereafter runs over at least one section of at least one of the passage openings; in this case the entire exit can be chosen as its central area.
  • the inventive arrangement of cutting grid and feed shaft (or its exit) relative to one another has the effect that a food to be divided can at least partially be driven through the passage openings beyond an edge of the exit (before it is preferably caught in the shredded state), independently from a position where the food passes through the exit.
  • the cutting grid ensures that the cut up food has the intended shape, and on the other hand, the knife is prevented from being blocked by food being pressed against a wall of the feed chute by the knife.
  • An embodiment variant is advantageous in which the outlet and the cutting grid are arranged relative to one another in such a way that, during one rotation, each point of the knife which passes the outlet, after it has circled past the outlet, still during a further (continued) rotation by at least 1 °, preferably at least 5 ° and / or at least 4 mm in the direction of rotation, more preferably at least 8 mm, at least over a section of at least one of the passage openings. This ensures an advantageously large section in which the food can still pass through the cutting grid in the direction of rotation behind the exit of the feed shaft.
  • a plurality of the passage openings have an essentially rectangular, in particular preferably square, one Cross-section;
  • An embodiment variant is preferred in which the cross-sections of all the passage openings of the plurality are essentially congruent (congruent); this enables the food to be cut into cubes.
  • the outermost passage openings of the cutting grid in the circumferential direction preferably each protrude at least half of their cross section in the circumferential direction beyond the outlet.
  • This protruding half has an advantageous size so that a piece of food that has been separated from the knife and driven out beyond the exit can still pass through the respective passage openings (for example to fall into a collecting container arranged below).
  • the knife preferably has a cutting edge (front in the direction of rotation) which is set up to rotate at a positive distance above the cutting grid.
  • the distance is at least 4 mm, more preferably at least 6 mm or even 1 cm or more.
  • An embodiment in which the distance is adjustable is particularly advantageous. In particular, a distance of up to 1 cm or more can be adjustable. In this way, advantageous dimensions of divided food (in particular cooking or baking ingredients) are made possible when preparing food.
  • An embodiment is particularly advantageous in which the said distance (at which the cutting edge can be rotated above the cutting grid) essentially corresponds to the side lengths of a square cross section of at least one of the passage openings or at which such a distance is adjustable.
  • the device is thus suitable for cutting the food into cubes.
  • the knife preferably has an area which is spaced apart from the cutting edge and which is set up to rotate at a distance of at most 2 mm, more preferably at most 1 mm, above the cutting grid. With this area, the knife can drive the food that has been separated off with the cutting edge against the cutting grid and thus cause the cutting elements to engage in the food and reduce it further.
  • the cutting grid has a frame, the inner edge of which delimits a plurality of the passage openings at least partially.
  • a total cross-sectional area of the passage openings of the cutting grid is at least 110% (more preferably at least 115%) and / or at most 130% (more preferably at most 125%) of a cross-sectional area of the outlet; thus, despite the inventive protrusion of the cutting grid in the circumferential direction over the exit, a relatively small cutting grid is realized, which in particular enables simple cleaning.
  • the outlet and the cutting grid each have a cross section (in a plane of rotation to which the axis of rotation of the knife is orthogonal) that is essentially symmetrical to a respective axis of symmetry that extends radially with respect to the axis of rotation of the knife.
  • the axis of symmetry of the cross section of the cutting grid is rotated in the direction of rotation of the knife by an angle with respect to the axis of symmetry of the cross section of the outlet, which is in a range from 1 ° to 10 °, more preferably from 1 ° to 5 °.
  • the above-mentioned structure enables the comminution device to be manufactured in a simple manner because the overhang according to the invention can be implemented by housing elements rotated relative to one another (one of which preferably includes the feed shaft and the other the cutting grid).
  • a comminuting device comprises a cover into which the feed chute is to be inserted or which is formed in one piece with the feed chute (e.g. made of plastic, in particular as an injection-molded part), as well as a housing element which includes the cutting grid or which is set up for this purpose To hold the cutting grid detachable.
  • the housing element and the cover are preferably designed to have at least one Fastening means to be fastened to one another in a rotationally fixed manner and thus to fix the feed shaft and the cutting grid in said position relative to one another. This fixing is therefore particularly simple in such an embodiment.
  • the fastening means can, for example, comprise at least one groove in the housing element running parallel to the axis of rotation and at least one elevation on the cover which is designed to engage in the groove in the housing element.
  • the fastening means can comprise at least one groove in the cover running parallel to the axis of rotation and at least one elevation on the housing element which is designed to engage in the groove in the cover.
  • Such an engagement mechanism as a fastening element is particularly easy to use, and no extra components are required for this.
  • the fastening element can comprise at least one locking clamp which, for example, can comprise a spring mechanism and / or at least one metallic element.
  • Such a fastening element offers a particularly firm fixation and in particular enables a simple fixation of the cover and housing element (also) in (with respect to the axis of rotation) the axial direction.
  • a comminuting device in one of the embodiments disclosed in this document is designed as an attachment for a kitchen appliance.
  • a food processor can advantageously be expanded to include the chopping functionality.
  • a food processor according to the invention comprises a comminuting device according to the invention according to one of the embodiments disclosed in this document.
  • FIG. 1 is shown schematically a comminution device 1 according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention; the arrangement is shown in an intended use orientation.
  • the comminuting device 1 comprises a housing element 100 which is placed on a collecting container 400 for a comminuted food and in which a cutting grid 10 is inserted.
  • the cutting grid 10 comprises a frame 13 which encloses a plurality of parallel or orthogonal cutting elements 12, between which a plurality of through openings 11 are formed.
  • the cutting elements 12 are designed as strip-shaped blades; according to an alternative embodiment, at least some of them could each be a tensioned cutting wire, for example.
  • the frame 13 stabilizes the cutting grid. It also limits the cutting grid in particular on a rearmost side in the circumferential direction (last overrun by the knife 20 in each rotation), where it prevents part of the food from being undesirably divided or deformed from falling behind the cutting grid 10 into the collecting container.
  • a food is pressed through the cutting grid, it is divided by the cutting elements 12 so that it can fall through the through openings 11 into the collecting container 400.
  • the comminuting device 1 further comprises a knife 20 which is set up to rotate in a direction of rotation U about an axis of rotation A.
  • the knife has a cutting edge 21 which is spaced from the cutting grid (and the surface of the housing element 100 lying in one plane with the cutting grid in the case shown) by a positive distance H.
  • the distance H is at least 4mm, more preferably at least 6mm or even 1cm or more.
  • An embodiment in which the distance H is adjustable is particularly advantageous.
  • the knife 20 furthermore has a region 22 which is spaced apart from the cutting edge 21 and which is set up to rotate at a distance (not shown) of at most 2 mm, more preferably at most 1 mm, above the cutting grid.
  • the knife shown has only one cutting edge; alternatively, the knife could have at least one further cutting edge (which could, for example, be rotated by 180 ° with respect to the first cutting edge shown, so that with each full rotation of the knife one cutting edge runs over the cutting grid twice; the same applies to three or more cutting edges) .
  • the cutting edge 21 will thus cut into or cut off a food (not shown) above the cutting grid 10 at a distance H and drive a portion of the food cut in or off in this way with the region 22 through the cutting grid 10.
  • the cutting elements 12 engage in the part so that correspondingly comminuted pieces fall through the passage openings 11 into the collecting container.
  • the comminuting device 1 finally has a cover 300 which comprises a feed shaft 30 with an outlet 31 which, according to the invention, is relative to the cutting grid in FIG Figure 2 described position is arranged.
  • cover 300 and the housing element 100 with the knife 20 rotatable over it are shown in FIG Figure 1 shown in an exploded view;
  • the cover 300 is placed on the housing element 100. Elevations 101 and grooves 102 formed in housing element 100 engage in correspondingly complementary profile elements (not shown) in the cover and thus serve as fastening elements that ensure that cover 300 and housing element 100 and thus feed shaft 30 and cutting grid 10 are fixed relative to one another .
  • FIG 2 the housing element 100 is shown from below (looking out of the collecting container 400). Thereby there is a position of cutting grid 10 and the output 31 of the feed chute 30 visible through this can be seen relative to one another.
  • a knife 20 is set up to rotate between the cutting grid 10 and the outlet 31 of the feed chute in a direction of rotation U about an axis of rotation from which in FIG Figure 2 its point of penetration X can be seen through the image plane. For better visibility there is one in the perspective of the Figure 2 However, the edge of the knife covered by the housing element is shown in dashed lines.
  • this is shown as an example for points P 1 and P 2 , so the entire exit can be selected as the central area of the exit in the sense of the present document:
  • the point P 1 is just below an edge of the exit, that is, at a position in which it is just passing the exit. With the continued rotation of the knife 20, this point still runs over the passage openings 11a and 11b.
  • point P 2 is still about to pass the exit; in the case of continued rotation, this passing is completed when the point P 2 has arrived at the position P 2 '. Then the point P 2 still runs over sections of the passage openings 11b and 11c.
  • the point preferably covers a distance of at least 4mm above one or more passage openings, and the same applies to the other points of the knife 20 that can pass the exit.
  • part of the food that has been taken along by the rotating knife beyond the edge of the exit can still escape through the passage openings, in particular fall into the collecting container 400.
  • point P3 can never pass the exit, so it is not subject to the condition of having to run over at least one section of at least one of the passage openings.
  • the outlet 31 of the feed chute has an essentially elliptical cross section (in a plane of rotation) with axes of different lengths; alternatively, the outlet could also have a circular cross-section or a cross-section which is composed of two semicircular areas with an intermediate rectangle.
  • the cutting grid 10 is essentially rectangular in the example shown, but a different shape is also possible for this as an alternative.
  • the image plane is a plane of rotation, that is to say a plane to which the axis of rotation of the knife is perpendicular.
  • the illustration therefore shows corresponding projections of cutting grid 10 and output 31, which at the same time depict their cross sections.
  • These cross sections are each axially symmetrical: the cross section of the outlet 31 has an axis of symmetry S 1 running through the axis of rotation (recognizable by its intersection point X through the image plane), and the cross section of the cutting grid has an axis of symmetry S 2 running analogously through the axis of rotation.
  • is in a range from 1 ° to 10 °, preferably in a range from 1 ° to 5 °. In this way, according to the invention, undercutting the cutting grid with the passage openings is achieved to a suitable extent.
  • a comminution device 1 for food comprises a cutting grid 10, a feed shaft 30 for feeding the respective food to the cutting grid 10 and a knife 20 rotatable about an axis of rotation A in a direction of rotation U.
  • the cutting grid 10 has a plurality of cutting elements 12 and a plurality at passage openings 11, 11a, 11b, 11c formed between the cutting elements for a food that is pressed through the cutting grid.
  • the cutting grid 10 and the feed chute 30 are fixed or fixable relative to one another in a rotationally fixed manner in which each point P 1 , P 2 of the knife that can pass a central area of the outlet 31 when the knife rotates (immediately) after its Passing the exit runs at least over a section of one or more of the passage openings 11, 11a, 11b, 11c.
  • a food processor according to the invention comprises a comminuting device 1 according to the invention.
