    - making the male embossing tool (5, 5') cooperate with the female embossing tool (6), such that the outer layer (44) of the female embossing tool (6) undergoes a plastic deformation which creates at least one cavity (42, 42') of complementary shape to the protrusion(s) (41, 41') of the male embossing tool (5, 5').
  2. Method for producing a female embossing tool (6) intended to emboss a flat element (60), comprising the following steps:
    - providing a female embossing tool (6) coated with an outer layer (44) made of a material having shape memory type properties, and of which the outer face comprises at least one cavity,
    - carrying the outer face of the female embossing tool (6) under the selected conditions such that the outer face goes back to having no cavities,
    - providing a male embossing tool (5, 5') of which the outer face is equipped with at least one protrusion (41, 41') corresponding to at least one embossing relief (42, 42') sought on the flat element (60) from the embossing,
    - making the male embossing tool (5, 5') cooperate with the female embossing tool (6), such that the outer layer (44) of the female embossing tool (6) undergoes a plastic deformation which creates at least one cavity (42, 42') of complementary shape to the protrusion(s) (41, 41') of the male embossing tool.
  3. Method according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the material is selected from among shape memory metal alloys, and polymer materials having shape memory type properties.
  4. Female embossing tool (6) for flat elements intended to form packaging, coated with an outer layer (44) made of a material having shape memory type properties.
  5. Tool according to claim 4, wherein the material is selected from among shape memory metal alloys, and polymer materials having shape memory type properties.
  6. Tool according to claim 4 or 5, characterised in that it is flat and forms a tool for a platen press.
  7. Tool according to claim 4 or 5, characterised in that it has an outer cylindrical face of revolution and forms a rotating female embossing tool (6).
  8.
