In sich abgrenzte Gleisbereiche bestehen beispielsweise in Form von Rangierbereichen, Depot-Bereichen, bestimmten Bereichen eines Bahnhofs und dergleichen. In derartigen in sich abgrenzten Gleisbereichen befindet sich in der Regel eine Vielzahl von Weichen, für die das Bedürfnis besteht sie flexibel umstellen zu können, zum Beispiel vor Ort durch das Rangierpersonal. Daneben gibt es aber auch den Bedarf, zum Beispiel regelmässig wiederkehrende Fahrwege innerhalb des in sich abgegrenzten Gleisbereichs unter Inanspruchnahme von mehreren Weichen und der für den Fahrweg entsprechend vorbestimmten Weichenlage einstellen zu können. Bei kleineren Bahnunternehmungen und in kleinen Rangierbereichen wird das Einstellen der Weichen lokal durch das Rangierpersonal in eigener Verantwortung durchgeführt. Es besteht daher das Bedürfnis die Weichen auf zwei grundlegende Arten stellen zu können:
- a) einzelne Weichen individuell durch das Rangierpersonal umstellen zu können; und
- b) mehrere Weichen in Folge einstellen zu können, um einen geschlossenen Fahrweg durch den Gleisbereich bzw. eines Teils davon zu bilden.

Heutzutage ist es möglich, bei grösseren Gleisbereichen durch ein Stellwerk vorbestimmte Fahrwege zuzulassen. Sind jedoch derartige Fahrwege eingestellt, lässt das Stellwerk keine Weichenumstellung für jede der am Fahrweg beteiligten Weichen zu. Natürlich ist es leicht ersichtlich, dass hierdurch die Flexibilität der betrieblichen Abläufe unterbunden wird. Gleichzeitig bietet diese Vorgehensweise jedoch eine maximale Sicherheit zur Vermeidung von Kollisionen oder Entgleisungen und dergleichen.Nowadays, it is possible to allow predetermined routes through a signal box for larger track areas. Diese Aufgabe wird bezüglich des Verfahrens erfindungsgemäss durch ein Verfahren zum Betreiben eines in sich abgegrenzten Gleisbereichs mit einer Anzahl von darin angeordneten Weichen, welches die folgenden Verfahrensschritte umfasst:
- a) Einstellen eines Fahrweges unter Inanspruchnahme der in den Fahrweg integrierten Weichen und einer für die Weichen dieses Fahrwegs vorbestimmten Weichenlage;
- b) Überprüfen der aktuellen Lage der in den Fahrweg integrierten Weichen und ggfs. Verstellen der Weichen in die für diesen Fahrweg vorbestimmten Weichenlagen;
- c) Anzeigen der Weichenlage durch erste Signalisierungselemente jeweils an jeder der in den Fahrweg integrierten Weichen; und
- d) Optisches und/oder akustisches Signalisieren durch zweite Signalisierungselemente an mindestens einer in den Fahrweg integrierten Weiche, dass diese mindestens eine Weiche für einen eingestellten Fahrweg in Anspruch genommen ist.

Bezüglich des Systems wird diese Aufgabe erfindungsgemäss durch ein System zum Betreiben eines in sich abgegrenzten Gleisbereichs mit einer Anzahl von darin angeordneten Weichen gelöst, umfassend:
- a) eine Stelleinrichtung zum Einstellen eines Fahrweges unter Inanspruchnahme der in den Fahrweg integrierten Weichen und zum Einstellen einer für die Weichen dieses Fahrwegs vorbestimmten Weichenlage;
- b) eine Prüfeinrichtung zum Überprüfen der aktuellen Lage der in den Fahrweg integrierten Weichen und ggfs. Verstellen der Weichen in den für diesen Fahrweg vorbestimmten Weichenlagen durch die Stelleinrichtung;
- c) erste Signalisierungselemente zum Anzeigen der Weichenlage jeweils an jeder der in den Fahrweg integrierten Weichen; und
- d) zweite Signalisierungselemente zum optischen und/oder akustischen Signalisieren an einer in den Fahrweg integrierten Weiche, dass diese Weichen für einen eingestellten Fahrweg in Anspruch genommen sind.

Es liegt dann in der Verantwortungsgewalt des im Gleisbereich agierenden Personals, ob die Lage einer Weiche umgestellt wird, wenn gleichzeitig durch die zweiten Signalisierungselemente signalisiert ist, dass diese Weiche für eine eingestellten Fahrweg verändert wird. Das erste und das zweite Signalisierungselement können auch beispielsweise in eine einzige Lichtquelle integriert sein und durch die Codierung der Anzeige, wie zum Beispiel schnelles oder langsames Blinken, die gewünschte Aussage signalisieren.In this way, a very good balance between the safety requirements and the wishes for flexibility when switching the points is achieved. In einer vorteilhaften Ausgestaltung der vorliegenden Erfindung kann es vorgesehen sein, dass an mindestens einer in den Fahrweg integrierte Weiche durch die zweiten Signalisierungselemente optisch und/oder akustisch signalisiert wird, dass diese mindestens eine Weiche für einen einzustellenden Fahrweg in Anspruch genommen werden soll. Auf diese Weise kann dem Personal im Gleisbereich bereits im Vorfeld des Aufbaus des Fahrwegs signalisiert werden, dass eine Beanspruchung dieser mindestens einen Weiche für einen einzustellenden Fahrweg unmittelbar bevorsteht. Auch liegt es dann im Ermessen des Personals im Gleisbereich zu entscheiden, ob diese mindestens eine Weiche nun noch umgestellt werden soll, oder ob zunächst die Beanspruchung für den Fahrweg abgewartet und die Umstellung dann erst nach der Auflösung dieses Fahrwegs vorgenommen wird.In an advantageous embodiment of the present invention it can be provided that at least one switch integrated in the route is signaled optically and / or acoustically by the second signaling elements that this at least one switch is to be used for a route to be set. Im Besonderen die zweiten Signalisierungselemente können unterschiedlich ausgestaltet sein. So kann beispielsweise eine einfache zusätzliche Lichtquelle vorgesehen sein, deren Leuchten die Beanspruchung einer Weiche für einen Fahrweg anzeigt. Es könnte aber auch ein Ampelsystem vorgesehen sein, wobei mit:
- a) "GRÜN" signalisiert wird, dass die Weiche frei ist; und/oder
- b) "ROT" signalisiert wird, dass die Weiche für einen Fahrweg in Anspruch genommen ist; und/oder
- c) "GELB" signalisiert wird, dass die Weiche für einen Fahrweg in Anspruch genommen wird; und/oder
- d) "GELB blinkend" signalisiert wird, dass die Weiche für einen Fahrweg in Anspruch genommen war und nun wieder frei wird.

Nachdem die Stelleinheit 12 einen Fahrweg anfordert, kann eine ebenfalls in die Stelleinheit 12 integrierte Prüfeinheit die aktuellen Lagen der für den Fahrweg erforderlichen Weichen prüfen. Während dieser Prüfdauer können die zweiten Anzeigeelemente der entsprechenden Weichen bereits zum Blinken gebracht werden. Ist die Prüfung abgeschlossen und sind alle Weichen in die für diesen Fahrweg erforderlichen Weichenlagen gebracht worden, leuchten die entsprechenden zweiten Anzeigeelemente 6 dauerhaft auf. Erst wenn der Fahrweg 10 wieder aufgelöst werden kann, können die zweiten Anzeigeelemente 6 wieder in den Blinkbetrieb gehen, um zu signalisieren, dass die entsprechende Weiche nicht mehr für einen eingestellten Fahrweg in Anspruch genommen wird.
