- Method for applying a closure cap (1) to a substantially cylindrical vessel which comprises an opening that is closed by a closure, said method comprising the following method steps:• receiving the closure cap (1) in an application bell (11) which is provided for pressing the closure cap (1) onto a vessel and which is designed as a hollow body, wherein the closure cap (1) exactly surrounds a part of the outer contour of the vessel, including the closure, wherein the inner contour of the application bell (11) exactly corresponds to the outer contour of the closure cap (1), wherein the inner contour of the application bell (11) comprises a first substantially cylindrical region (A) having a first diameter, and a second substantially cylindrical region (C) having a second, larger diameter, wherein a conical shoulder (6) is provided between the first region (A) and the second region (C), in region (B).• applying the application bell (11) to a substantially cylindrical vessel, lifting the application bell (11) off the substantially cylindrical vessel, wherein the closure cap (1) remains on the substantially cylindrical vessel so as to fit exactly, and• connecting the closure cap (1) to the vessel by means of a label that is applied to the vessel.
- Method according to claim 8, characterized in that the closure cap (1) is secured in the application bell, by means for holding the closure cap (1), until the application bell (11) is applied to the substantially cylindrical vessel.
- Method according to claim 8 or claim 9, characterized in that the closure cap (1) is applied to the vessel, from the application bell (11), by means of compressed air that is introduced into the region between the closure cap (1) and the application bell (11).
