Definitions
- the present invention relates to the field of scuba diving, and in particular the field of landing parachutes used during scuba diving.
- a landing parachute is a scuba gear that is used during a decompression stop. It makes it possible to indicate on the surface the position of the diver at the end of the dive, and that an ascent with safety stops is in progress.
- the landing parachute can also be maintained at a constant depth in the open water to facilitate the landing.
- a landing parachute comprises an inflatable bladder of generally cylindrical shape, and a retaining string which connects it, in the inflated state, to the plunger that it makes it possible to signal.
- the landing parachute is designed to float vertically on the surface of the water, and is brightly colored (orange or yellow) so as to be visible to others on the surface of the water.
- the landing parachute In order for the plunger to inflate the underwater parachute under water, the landing parachute conventionally comprises a wide opening at its base. The wide opening allows the diver to easily position his regulator to inflate the diving parachute. Such a landing parachute is described in GB 2484714 . However, when the landing parachute is used and floats on the surface of the water in the inflated state, it may be caused to subside or even to lie on the surface of the water. This is particularly the case when the tension exerted by the plunger on the retaining means is not sufficient, or when the landing parachute is subject to the surface of a strong swell or high wind. In this case, the wide opening may lead to deflation of the landing gear, thus rendering it inoperative.
- the non-return valve prevents the landing gear from deflating.
- the deflation of the landing gear is also made more complicated by the presence of the non-return valve.
- bearing parachutes for example the paratrooper SMB MARES, having a cylindrical shape with ballast means at the opening.
- Such parachutes are configured geometrically so that the shaping of the parachute leads to a pinching at the opening, and therefore to a closure of the parachute which is proportional to the pressure inside the parachute: we obtain an effect of non-return valve prevents air from coming out through the opening.
- a pressure relief valve is then necessary on the one hand to prevent any explosion of the parachute during its ascent and on the other hand to allow deflation of the parachute for storage.
- the present invention aims to solve the various technical problems mentioned above.
- the present invention aims to provide a landing parachute easy to manufacture and store, limiting the risk of deflation on the surface of the water when it can not maintain vertical.
- a bearing parachute comprising an inflatable bladder having a main portion delimiting a main interior volume, and a longitudinal opening portion with a first end opening on the main interior volume and a second end opening on outside.
- the opening portion thus allows the circulation of a gas between the outside and the main interior volume.
- the opening portion comprises a neck whose section is smaller than the section of the first end, and the second end is adapted to receive the end of a diving regulator.
- the neck of the opening part it is possible to limit the deflation of the diving parachute when it sinks or lies on the surface of the water.
- the air flow section through the neck is smaller and therefore limits the flow of air through it.
- such a collar requires a lower force to bend and close on itself by folding: it is therefore at the neck that the parachute bearing will be caused to bend when it goes collapse or lie on the surface of the water, reducing the risk of deflation.
- such a collar does not prevent the air from leaving the parachute when necessary, especially during the ascent of the parachute bearing on the surface (to avoid the risk of explosion) or when storing the landing gear. Indeed, it is not geometric constraints on the opening when the parachute is inflated that allow to close the neck, but a folding of the parachute that will cause a temporary closure of the neck: it is sufficient to unfold the parachute so that the collar can open again.
- the opening portion is devoid of mechanical means reported closing.
- the absence of mechanical means of closure reduces the risk of abnormality during manufacture, as well as the cost of manufacture. A more compact and lighter landing parachute is also obtained, which facilitates its transport.
- the second end of the opening portion has a section greater than that of the neck, preferably equal to that of the first end.
- the opening portion also comprises, between the first end and the neck, a first portion converging towards the neck from the first end.
- the first convergent portion is provided to limit the stresses exerted in the opening portion at the neck.
- the stresses exerted at the neck are distributed over a larger area, and make it possible to avoid or limit the addition of mechanical reinforcement. at the level of the collar.
- the first portion extends over a length of between 0.5 and 2 times the section of the first end. Such a length makes it possible to limit the stresses exerted on the neck.
- the opening portion also comprises, between the second end and the neck, a second diverging portion from the neck to the second end.
- the second portion also limits the stresses exerted at the neck, and direct air to the neck during inflation of the landing parachute.
- the second portion is less stressed, and may be shorter than the first portion to limit the length of the opening portion.
- the neck of the bladder has, on its inner surface, a material configured to adhere reversibly to itself by contact, the material being for example the material forming the neck of the bladder or a material attached to the inner surface of the material. forming the neck of the bladder.
- the material of the inner surface of the neck is chosen so as to adhere to itself easily, in order to further reduce the air flow that can escape from the parachute via the neck: on the one hand, therefore, it limits even more the risk of deflation of the landing gear on the surface of the water, and the folding of the parachute at the level of the neck when the landing gear is caused to collapse or lie on the surface of the 'water.
- the material of the neck may for example be a polyamide coated on its inner surface with polyurethane. The adhesion of the inner surfaces of the neck remains reversible, and does not withstand a pressure value given inside the parachute when it is not folded: it remains easy to deflate the parachute to store it.
- the main portion of the bladder has a generally longitudinal shape, for example tubular, with a substantially constant section and for example equal to the section of the first end.
- the landing parachute is formed by a panel folded on itself, for example by heat or high frequency welds, or by several panels assembled together, for example by heat or high frequency welding. It is thus found that the presence of the neck in the opening portion does not further complicate the method of manufacturing the parachute bearing, which can always be manufactured with heat or high-frequency welding, but very specific forms.
- the landing parachute also comprises a retaining means.
- the retaining means is mounted on the bladder between the neck and the second end of the opening portion, or on a means, for example storage, attached to the bladder between the neck and the second end of the part of the opening. 'opening.
- the position of the means of retained between the neck and the second end of the opening portion allows and facilitates the folding of the opening portion at the neck, when the axis of the landing parachute is inclined with respect to the direction of the retaining means that is, when the landing parachute is brought to bend or lie down on the surface of the water.
- the figure 1 illustrates a landing gear 1 according to the invention.
- the landing parachute 1 comprises an inflatable bladder 2 having a main portion 4 and an opening portion 6.
- the main part 4 is of longitudinal general shape, closed at its upper end 8 and open at its lower end with which the main part is in fluid connection with the opening part 6.
- the main part 4 has a general shape tubular or cylindrical, with a cross section 10, that is to say a length in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the main portion 4, substantially constant over the length of the main portion 4.
- the length, and the outer color of the main portion 4 are chosen so that the landing parachute is clearly visible on the surface of the water when it is used.
- main part 4 delimits a main internal volume 12 in fluidic connection, via the lower end of the main part 4, with the opening part 6.
- the opening portion 6 is of longitudinal shape with a first end 14 and a second end 16.
- the first end 14 is in fluid communication with the main part 4, via the lower end of the main part 4, and therefore opens on the main interior volume 12.
- the first end 14 may in particular have a cross section, that is to say to say a length in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the opening portion, equal to the section of the main portion 4.
- the second end 16 opens on the outside of the landing parachute 1.
- the opening portion 6 allows therefore to communicate the main interior volume 12 with the outside.
- the second end 16 may in particular be adapted, for example sized, so as to enable it to receive the end of a diving regulator for inflating the landing gear 1.
- the second end 16 may have a cross section substantially identical to that of the first end 14, as shown in figure 1 .
- the opening portion 6 also comprises, between the first end 14 and the second end 16, a narrowing or neck 18 at which the cross section is smaller than that of the first end 14. More precisely, and as shown in FIG. figure 1 , it is considered in the following description, the neck 18 is the portion of the opening portion 6 having the smallest and substantially constant cross section.
- the opening portion 6 comprises, between the first end 14 and the neck 18, a first portion 20 which converges from the first end 14 to the neck 18.
- the first portion 20 makes it possible to make the connection between the first end 14 and the neck 18 which have different sections.
- the first portion 20 allows in particular to distribute the stresses, in particular due to the pressure inside the main interior volume 12, which are exerted on the walls of the opening portion 6 at the neck 18.
- the first portion 20 has a convergent shape, extending over a length substantially equal to the section 10 of the main interior volume and substantially equal to three times the section of the neck 18, on the figure 1 . More generally, the first portion 20 may extend over a length of between 0.5 and 2 times the section of the first end.
- the opening portion 6 comprises, between the second end 16 and the neck 18, a second portion 22 which diverges from the neck towards the second end 16.
- the second portion 22 provides a second end 16 of flared shape for receiving the end of a dive regulator to facilitate the inflation of the parachute 1.
- the landing gear 1 comprises a retaining means 24.
- the retaining means 24 allows the diver to remain connected to the landing parachute 1 and retain it when it is on the surface of the water.
- the retaining means 24 is thus typically a string.
- the retaining means 24 is mounted on the bladder 2, at the opening portion 6, and preferably between the neck 18 and the second end 16, that is to say on the second portion 22.
- Such an arrangement allows, when the retaining means exerts pressure on the bladder 2 and the parachute bearing 1, in the inflated state, tends to sag or to lie on the surface of the water (see figure 2 ), to fold the bladder 2 at the neck 18, thus forming a fold line 26 to reinforce the sealing of the neck 18 of the opening portion 6, and therefore limiting air leakage.
- the inner walls of the neck 18 which are in contact come into contact with each other and thus limit the passage of air.
- the retaining means 24 can be mounted on the bladder 2 by means of another means, for example a storage means (not shown), mounted on the bladder 2, at the opening portion. 6, and preferably between the neck 18 and the second end 16, that is to say on the second portion 22.
- a storage means (not shown) mounted on the bladder 2, at the opening portion. 6, and preferably between the neck 18 and the second end 16, that is to say on the second portion 22.
- the bearing parachute 1, and more particularly the opening portion 6, is devoid of mechanical closure means, such as a non-return valve.
- a non-return valve This avoids having a landing parachute too bulky and heavy. It also avoids the risks of reliability on the fixing of the non-return valve to the rest of the landing parachute 1.
- the bladder 2, and more generally the bearing parachute 1 is conventionally formed by one or more textile panels welded together or on themselves so as to obtain the desired overall tubular shape.
- figure 1 represents a bladder 2 obtained from two identical panels welded together along their peripheral edge by welding, in particular high frequency.
- Each of the panels has the general shape of the bladder 2 of the landing parachute 1, when it is flat, that is to say a main part and a bottleneck.
- the cross section of the neck 18 is chosen so as to allow the formation of the fold line 26 at said neck 18, while not increasing too much the inflation time of the landing parachute.
- the panel or panels forming the bladder 2 may comprise on their inner surfaces, at the neck 18, a material, for example smooth and adherent, promoting the reversible adhesion of two walls facing the neck 18.
- the smooth and adherent material then increases the contact between the two facing walls, and therefore reduces the passage of air at the neck 18.
- the smooth and adherent material may be for example a coating internal, such as polyurethane on a polyamide support, locally conferring the desired adhesion properties.
- the material of the bladder panels may be originally selected to have the desired adhesion properties. In this case, the inner surfaces of the bladder may adhere to each other throughout the length of the bladder, but are in practice caused to do so only at the fold line 26.
- the bearing parachute according to the present invention makes it possible to limit the risks of deflation of the landing gear when it floats on the surface of the water. Moreover, such a landing gear parachute presents a weight gain, a reduced size, a better reliability and a greater ease of use compared to the bearing parachutes of the prior art, thanks to the absence of a reported element. of the welded valve type.

Description
figure 1 .
figure 1 .
