Definitions
- the present invention relates to a container closure comprising two main components, namely a plastic flange, which can be fixed to an opening surface of a container, and further a lid, which is detachably attached to a discharge opening of the flange.
- the invention further relates to a container, in particular a beverage can or a comparable liquid container with such a container closure.
- beverage cans Especially in the case of beverage cans but also in other containers, which preferably contain liquids, resealable, well-sealed container closures can either not be attached or only with considerable effort.
- a closable dispensing opening on the manufacturer side, in particular on plastic containers, whereby, however, the complexity of the injection molds used regularly increases and thus the production costs are higher.
- mass products such as the conventional metal beverage cans, the production costs are an essential criterion, so that the simplest possible forms are preferred here.
- beverage cans regularly consist of thin aluminum or tinplate. In the top surface of such beverage cans, there are provided opening surfaces in which a pre-punched region can be broken away to produce a dispensing opening. Such a opened beverage can can no longer be sealed tight without additional elements.
- the DE 40 35 395 A1 shows such a beverage can, there referred to as packaging means with prefabricated desired opening and associated lift lever.
- the lift lever should serve as a reclosure for the prepared opening in the beverage can.
- the lift lever is pivotally mounted and has a closure surface which can be pressed after the first opening in the prepared opening.
- a safe, liquid-tight connection can be made in this way, however, hardly.
- the edges of the material at the edge of the opening produced are permanently wetted by the liquid contained in the can and increasingly tend to corrosion due to the lack of surface protection layer at this point.
- the DE 295 11 368 U1 shows a beverage can closure, in the form of a aufstastbaren on the top of the can lid with a closable pouring opening.
- the lid has a cylindrical approach with a gradation.
- the pouring opening can be closed by a pivotally mounted cover section, which has a sealing cone which engages in a form-fitting manner in the pouring opening.
- liquid may remain between the can top and the separately attached lid.
- the beverage can closure is expensive to produce. Even with this arrangement, the opening edges in the opening surface of the beverage can remain unprotected and prone to corrosion.
- the DE 20 2011 101 705 U1 describes a closure for a liquid container, in particular for a beverage can.
- the closure has a closure bottom for liquid-tight Mounting in an opening in the liquid container, wherein the closure lower part has a passage for pouring a liquid contained in the liquid container.
- an upper closure part is provided, which is arranged on the closure lower part and has a passage for the liquid.
- the closure top is rotatable relative to the closure bottom, while the closure bottom is fixed in the liquid container. Difficulties in this case, the attachment of the closure lower part in the opening of the opening surface. In particular, a seal of the edges of the opening is not or only with considerable effort to ensure.
- the US 2008/0110887 A1 describes a resealable plastic closure for metal cans, which is characterized by three mutually hinged planes.
- a base plate adapts the closure to a drinking opening of a beverage can and has an opening which corresponds in shape to the drinking opening on the can.
- a second, mechanically connected to the base plate, middle plate is a sealing element which can be folded over the base plate and pressed into the drinking opening to close them partially, while leaving a flow opening open.
- the shape of the sealing element corresponds to the opening in the base plate.
- a final level shows a cover and is mechanically connected to the second sealing level by hinges.
- the covering plane is folded over the sealing element. In this case, two openings in the covering plane are snapped onto two opposite pins belonging to the base plate.
- the US 2012/0 273 490 A1 shows a can lid made of aluminum or plastic, as part of a beverage can. in the original, closed delivery state of the beverage can, this is closed by a seal that can be broken by impressions.
- the can lid has two mutually movable lid parts that can be opened or closed to each other.
- Upper and lower lid part have a circular shape and are rotatably mounted one above the other.
- Both cover parts each have an opening which can be positioned one above the other by the rotational movement of the cover parts, so as to create a passage opening.
- Both cover parts are positively connected at their radial edges by a fold, which simultaneously forms a seal. In this case, the edge of the upper lid part sits below the edge of the lower lid part.
- a seated at an opening sealing element shows a radially encircling sealing bead with a groove which encloses the edge of the opening.
- the DE 22 46 277 A1 shows a closure for closing a in an end face of a container, in particular a beverage can, arranged outlet opening.
- the closure consists of two parts integrally connected to one another by a connecting web, namely from a closure part closing the container opening and a clamping part.
- the clamping part can be inserted into the container opening after insertion of the closure part. It secures the closure part by clamping and sealing on all sides at the edge of the container opening.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a container closure which is inexpensive to produce, can be easily mounted in an opening of a container, in particular a beverage can, a tight reclosure while simultaneously protecting the cut edges of the opening from contact with the liquid contained in the container to prevent corrosion of these edges.
- Another object is seen to provide a container which is equipped with a correspondingly improved container closure.
- the container closure according to the invention has on its existing plastic flange a deformable mounting portion.
- This comprises a radially outer sealing bead with circumferential in a cross-sectional plane groove.
- the width of the groove substantially corresponds to the thickness of an opening area of a container to be closed.
- the contour of the groove substantially corresponds to the contour of an opening in the opening area of the container.
- the attachment portion of the container closure further comprises a circumferential expansion joint extending between a radially inner wall portion of the flange and the radially outer sealing bead.
- the container closure also includes a lid which is releasably attached to a discharge opening of the flange. This cover comprises a closure surface and an outer sleeve adjoining the closure surface.
- the cross section of the outer sleeve is adapted to the flange such that placing the cover on the flange results in a fluid-tight connection.
- the outer sleeve has a longitudinal extent, which is an ingress of a spreading element located at its free end in the Sp Dahlfuge allowed.
- the expansion element of the outer sleeve is designed such that the sealing bead is pressed in this penetration radially outward to push the groove over the edge of the opening of the container.
- the depth of the groove is between 1 and 5 mm. It is also advantageous if the width of the groove is slightly less than the material thickness of the opening surface, preferably in the range between 0.5 and 2.5 mm. The material of the opening surface then presses into the deformable material of the sealing bead particularly well.
- the groove may have an inwardly decreasing opening width.
- Advantageous embodiments are characterized by a decreasing wall thickness at the end of the outer sleeve of the lid.
- this free end which forms the expansion element, designed wedge-shaped to support the wedging of the expansion joint when penetrating into the expansion joint.
- flange and cover have a circular cross-section and on the outside of the flange and the inside of the outer sleeve of the cover respectively complementary threaded portions are mounted.
- the lid can then be screwed onto the flange, so that even small forces are sufficient to allow the free end of the outer sleeve of the lid to penetrate into the expansion joint.
- a preferred embodiment of the container closure has on the lid driver elements which cause the expansion element to co-rotate when inserting the container closure. Likewise, a rotation of the flange can be effected via further drivers. This in turn supports the penetration of the edges of the opening of the opening surface in the groove of the sealing bead.
- the attachment portion of the flange has an outer diameter tapering towards the flange end.
- This configuration facilitates the penetration of the container closure into the opening of the beverage can or other container. It is expedient if the flange can be slightly reduced in its cross-section during insertion into the opening, as part of an elastic deformation, and goes back to its original shape after insertion, so that the groove already receives part of the edge of the opening and on this way, the container closure positioned in the axial direction.
- the invention also provides a liquid container, preferably in the form of a beverage can, which has an opening in an opening area, wherein a container closure according to the invention is inserted in the opening.
- the container closure can be used by the manufacturer, if the beverage can already be sold with this closure. It is also possible to provide the user with a separate container closure, which can then be used after the first opening of the beverage can itself, if the beverage can is to be closed again.
- the beverage can at the edge of the opening has projections which serve in the manner of locking the permanent attachment of the container closure.
- the opening can be introduced in the beverage can, for example by punching or cutting.
- Fig. 1 are shown in a sectional view sections of the essential elements of the container closure according to the invention before it is inserted into an opening of a beverage can.
- the container closure is exemplified below in use on a beverage can explained. In general, the container closure can also be used on other containers.
- the container closure comprises as a first main component a flange 01, which is preferably made in one piece from plastic.
- the flange 01 preferably has a tubular shape with a central discharge opening 02, through which the liquid stored in a container 03 can be dispensed.
- the container 03 is a beverage can having an opening area 04 at its top. In the opening area 04, an opening 05 is mounted, in which the container closure can be used.
- the flange 01 has at its end facing the container, so opposite to the discharge opening 02, a deformable mounting portion 06 which has a sealing bead 07 and a circumferential expansion joint 08.
- the Sp Drfuge 08 extends between a radially inner wall portion of the flange 01 and the radially outer sealing bead 07.
- the material of the flange has an elasticity, which allows pivoting of the sealing bead 07 when the Sp Schwarzfuge 08 is widened.
- the sealing bead extends a groove 09 in a cross-sectional plane which is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the flange.
- the groove 09 is open to the outside and adapted in width to the thickness of the opening surface 04 to receive these sealing.
- a second main part of the container closure is formed by a cover 10 which has a closure surface 11 and an outer sleeve 12 adjoining thereto.
- the closure surface 11 closes the discharge opening 02 of the flange, so there is no liquid exit.
- the outer sleeve 12 engages the flange in the axial extension sections and can be snapped or screwed depending on the embodiment of this.
- an expansion element 13 is provided which penetrates when placing the cover in the expansion joint 08 in order to displace the sealing bead radially outward.
- the radial displacement is made possible by the elasticity of the material, which allows both a pivoting of the sealing bead 07 and an expansion of the material at the foot of the expansion joint 08.
- the expansion element 13 may be formed integrally with the outer sleeve 12 or as a separate part. It is also possible in certain embodiments, that the expansion element 13 is first attached to the outer sleeve 12, after the penetration of the expansion joint, however, is released from the outer sleeve and remains on renewed removal of the cover in the expansion joint.
- Fig. 2 shows in a sectional view the beverage can 03 with the fully inserted container closure. It can be seen that the lower part of the flange 01 has been passed through the opening 05 in the opening surface 04 and the edge of the opening 05 engages in the groove 09. A cutting edge 15, which forms the contour of the opening 05, is thus protected from attacking liquid, because the sealing bead 07 completely surrounds the material of the opening surface 04, so that the cutting edge 15 is sealed in the groove 09.
- the expansion element 13 has penetrated into the expansion joint 08, whereby the sealing bead 07 has been pressed radially outward.
- the penetration of the expansion element 13 takes place when placing the cover 10 on the flange 01, wherein in the example shown here, the cover 10 is screwed, using the threaded portions 16 on the outside of the flange and on the inside of the outer sleeve 12th
- Fig. 3 shows a plan view of the opening surface 04 of a first embodiment of the container 03. It can be seen that the introduced in the opening surface 04 opening 05 is substantially circular and is located centrally in the opening surface 04. Furthermore, it can be seen that the contour of the opening 05 has a plurality of evenly distributed on the circumference projections 17 which have a locking of the flange 01 in the opening surface 04 result when this is first used and the contour of the opening 05 is pressed into the groove 09 is, preferably with simultaneous rotation of the flange 01.
- Fig. 4 shows a second embodiment of the container 03 in a plan view. It can be seen that the projections 17 are formed at the edge of the opening 05 in this case with a larger radial extent, so that there is a kind of sawtooth pattern.
- Fig. 5 shows a detail of the container closure.
- driving elements 18 are mounted, which cooperate with stops 19 on the spreader 13 to rotate this at the first closing of the container closure, whereby the penetration of the expansion element 13 is facilitated in the expansion joint 08. If, during the subsequent opening of the container closure, the cover 10 is rotated in the opposite direction, the driver elements 18 skip over the stops 19 due to existing run-on bevels, so that the expansion element 13 remains unchanged remains in the expansion joint 08.
- Fig. 6 shows a simplified perspective view of a modified embodiment of the container closure. Also in this case, a lid 10 and a flange 01 is provided, which together form the container closure. Notwithstanding the embodiment described above, the expansion element 13 is formed as a separate component, which is placed over the flange during insertion of the container closure into the opening of the beverage can and subsequently pressed by the cover into the expansion joint 08 and remains there.

Description
The present invention relates to a container closure comprising two main components, namely a plastic flange, which can be fixed to an opening surface of a container, and further a lid, which is detachably attached to a discharge opening of the flange.
The invention further relates to a container, in particular a beverage can or a comparable liquid container with such a container closure.
Especially in the case of beverage cans but also in other containers, which preferably contain liquids, resealable, well-sealed container closures can either not be attached or only with considerable effort. Of course, it is possible to provide a closable dispensing opening on the manufacturer side, in particular on plastic containers, whereby, however, the complexity of the injection molds used regularly increases and thus the production costs are higher. For mass products, such as the conventional metal beverage cans, the production costs are an essential criterion, so that the simplest possible forms are preferred here. Today, such beverage cans regularly consist of thin aluminum or tinplate. In the top surface of such beverage cans, there are provided opening surfaces in which a pre-punched region can be broken away to produce a dispensing opening. Such a opened beverage can can no longer be sealed tight without additional elements.

An object of the present invention, starting from the prior art, is to provide a container closure which is inexpensive to produce, can be easily mounted in an opening of a container, in particular a beverage can, a tight reclosure while simultaneously protecting the cut edges of the opening from contact with the liquid contained in the container to prevent corrosion of these edges.
Another object is seen to provide a container which is equipped with a correspondingly improved container closure.
These objects are achieved by a container closure according to the appended claim 1 and a container according to
The container closure according to the invention has on its existing plastic flange a deformable mounting portion. This comprises a radially outer sealing bead with circumferential in a cross-sectional plane groove. The width of the groove substantially corresponds to the thickness of an opening area of a container to be closed. The contour of the groove substantially corresponds to the contour of an opening in the opening area of the container. The attachment portion of the container closure further comprises a circumferential expansion joint extending between a radially inner wall portion of the flange and the radially outer sealing bead. The container closure also includes a lid which is releasably attached to a discharge opening of the flange. This cover comprises a closure surface and an outer sleeve adjoining the closure surface. The cross section of the outer sleeve is adapted to the flange such that placing the cover on the flange results in a fluid-tight connection. The outer sleeve has a longitudinal extent, which is an ingress of a spreading element located at its free end in the Spreizfuge allowed. In this case, the expansion element of the outer sleeve is designed such that the sealing bead is pressed in this penetration radially outward to push the groove over the edge of the opening of the container. As a result, on the one hand the flange is fixed in the opening surface of the container, on the other hand, the edge of the opening is pressed into the groove of the sealing bead and permanently protected from the liquid, so that corrosion can no longer take place.
In particular embodiments of the container closure, the depth of the groove is between 1 and 5 mm. It is also advantageous if the width of the groove is slightly less than the material thickness of the opening surface, preferably in the range between 0.5 and 2.5 mm. The material of the opening surface then presses into the deformable material of the sealing bead particularly well. The groove may have an inwardly decreasing opening width.
Advantageous embodiments are characterized by a decreasing wall thickness at the end of the outer sleeve of the lid. In particular, this free end, which forms the expansion element, designed wedge-shaped to support the wedging of the expansion joint when penetrating into the expansion joint.
It is advantageous if flange and cover have a circular cross-section and on the outside of the flange and the inside of the outer sleeve of the cover respectively complementary threaded portions are mounted. The lid can then be screwed onto the flange, so that even small forces are sufficient to allow the free end of the outer sleeve of the lid to penetrate into the expansion joint.
A preferred embodiment of the container closure has on the lid driver elements which cause the expansion element to co-rotate when inserting the container closure. Likewise, a rotation of the flange can be effected via further drivers. This in turn supports the penetration of the edges of the opening of the opening surface in the groove of the sealing bead.
Preferably, the attachment portion of the flange has an outer diameter tapering towards the flange end. This configuration facilitates the penetration of the container closure into the opening of the beverage can or other container. It is expedient if the flange can be slightly reduced in its cross-section during insertion into the opening, as part of an elastic deformation, and goes back to its original shape after insertion, so that the groove already receives part of the edge of the opening and on this way, the container closure positioned in the axial direction.
The invention also provides a liquid container, preferably in the form of a beverage can, which has an opening in an opening area, wherein a container closure according to the invention is inserted in the opening. The container closure can be used by the manufacturer, if the beverage can already be sold with this closure. It is also possible to provide the user with a separate container closure, which can then be used after the first opening of the beverage can itself, if the beverage can is to be closed again.
It is advantageous if the beverage can at the edge of the opening has projections which serve in the manner of locking the permanent attachment of the container closure.
The opening can be introduced in the beverage can, for example by punching or cutting.

In
The container closure comprises as a first main component a
The
A second main part of the container closure is formed by a
It can also be seen that the
