Definitions
- the invention relates to a vulcanized fiber grinding tool.
- Vulkanfiber grinding wheels belong to the abrasives on backing and are described in detail in DIN ISO 16057.
- the base material of coated abrasives can be paper, fabric, polyester and fiber (vulcanized fiber). These backing materials allow the production of abrasive tools with a uniform stock of abrasive grains of various grits and abrasives. Of all the usable carrier materials vulcanized fiber is the one with the highest strength and hardness.
- abrasives Since the support material of the coated abrasives is flexible, such abrasives are also referred to as flexible abrasives.
- a supporting support member for use in grinding with machines is required, usually in the form of a so-called support plate, as it is standardized in DIN ISO 15636.
- bonded grain abrasives also referred to as bonded abrasives, in which the abrasive grains are embedded in a synthetic resin composition.
- These grinding tools are used in the form of grindstones and grinding wheels for the shaping and surface treatment of workpieces.
- Such grinding tools are rigid, which on the one hand facilitates the production of a surface contour, but involves the problem that abrasive grain can break out uncontrolled and in larger fractions and thus leads to uneven grinding pattern on the surface of the workpiece.
- Vulcanized fiber grinding wheels are very popular in industrial applications because they offer the best strength and good elasticity of coated abrasives and are therefore characterized by a relatively long service life, high removal rate and very high grain adhesion. They are particularly suitable for producing a uniform surface structure on a workpiece.
- the previously known Vulkanfiber grinding wheels are to be used with a support plate, see eg the instructions for use in the tool manual PFERD, D 21, page 6/204 and 7/204.
- the tool manual PFERD, D 21, can be obtained from the company August Joggeberg GmbH & Co. KG, Marienheide, Germany.
- Vulcanized fiber grinding wheels can either be designed with a central hole in accordance with A2 - DIN ISO 16057 - this is the more popular version in the USA - or with additional star-shaped slots according to Form A1 - DIN ISO 16057; this is the more popular embodiment in Europe.
- a coated on both sides with an abrasive elastic grinding tool which comprises an inner disc of a plastic or metal, on each of which a disc of a porous foam material is glued to each of which on the outside another disc is glued from a stronger material, on the end of each a grinding wheel, eg made of sandpaper, is glued on the outside.
- the inner pane comprises conventional connecting means for Connection to a machine.
- the grinding tool is to be particularly convenient by the two-sided equipment with a grinding wheel by simply turning on the machine.
- the elasticity is to be achieved by the discs of a porous foam material.
- the use of the grinding tool should be done on a machine shaft with a plastic support plate.
- EP 0 450 209 B1 and DE 690 07 467 T2 is a flexible, unbound double-sided disposable grinding wheel for rotatable connection with a support member known.
- the grinding wheel disclosed therein is intended to have a circular reinforcing means in the form of an intermediate part between the grinding surfaces defining a central opening and having two opposite, substantially circular, planar surfaces.
- the grinding wheel is to be removably connected to the support member by the reinforcing means so that both abrasive surfaces can be used to finish an object.
- the device connectable to the connection means at one end of a support member should have an intermediate part defining a central bore, located in the central opening and attached to the reinforcement means, the central bore and the central opening being coaxial with one another.
- the reinforcing means should comprise an intermediate member in the form of a disc having two opposing substantially planar surfaces, or another, similarly flat, planar member having two opposing, substantially parallel, disc-supporting surfaces having a central bore.
- a first disc member is intended to carry abrasive material of a desired grain size on one side while a second opposite side of the disc is secured to the disc bearing surface by any adhesive known in the art should.
- a second disc member, on one side of which an abrasive material of a desired grain size has been applied, is to be adhesively bonded to the other disc-bearing surface of the intermediate portion with the second opposing side to form a disposable abrasive disc having two abrasive surfaces for abrading an article.
- the intermediate part is preferably made of a synthetic fiber or plastic of high strength or a metal such as aluminum, steel, brass, copper, etc., or a similar material. It should be important that the material chosen for the intermediate part is of sufficient strength to hold the disposable abrasive wheel sufficiently while being exposed to the grinding forces.
- the arrangement should be used with an additional support or reinforcing element which should be made of rubber or similar material. As a particular advantage is given to be able to combine different grain sizes on both sides of the grinding tool, which can then be accessed in each case by turning the grinding wheel.
- the DE 1 853 136 U describes a coated on both sides with abrasive Vulkanfiberusion, but only a radially outer portion of the grinding wheel should be covered with the abrasive.
- the disc should be mounted in a conventional manner on the spindle of a machine tool. The advantage should be in a material savings, the disc should be turned over after consumption of the abrasive on one side for further use on the spindle.
- the DE 20 2010 012 502 U1 shows a grinding wheel with many holes for the extraction of sanding dust.
- the disk is conventionally designed for use on a backing pad.
- the support plate should have holes for the extraction of sanding dust.
- the document describes a pattern of radius rays and hole circles with a specific distribution of circular holes. Through the distribution of the holes to be achieved that always an approximately uniform suction can be achieved, regardless of the rotational positioning of support plate and grinding wheel to each other. This should with frequent change of the grinding wheels a time-consuming alignment of grinding wheel to backing pad can be avoided.
- the describes WO 2007/143400 A2 a grinding wheel for use with a backing pad also described for use on a sanding machine having a suction device, wherein elongated holes or slots are to be provided in the sanding wheel.
- the slots or slots may also be curved.
- the slots should have a uniform width over their length.
- the end centers of a slot are located on a common radius beam. Also, by this proposed embodiment of the suction holes in the grinding wheel to be achieved, that always an approximately uniform suction can be achieved, regardless of the rotational positioning of support plate and grinding wheel to each other.
- vulcanized fiber grinding wheels such as poor heat dissipation in fine grains, tearing when working with coarse grains, the need for a support plate, a necessary minimum angle of attack during processing to avoid surface damage, the risk of contact between the workpiece and the support plate Grinding of narrow grooves and changing tool life relative to tool life in industrial use have been dealt with in the prior art and a variety of possible solutions have been proposed, which in turn usually introduce new problems or at least incur significant costs.
- the invention is therefore based on the object to provide an improved vulcanized fiber grinding tool that reduces the disadvantages known from the prior art.
- Vulkanfiber grinding tool with two Vulkanfiber grinding wheels, which are adhesively bonded to each other over the entire surface by means of an arranged between the Vulkanfiber grinding wheels adhesive layer, so that the provided with the abrasive outer sides of the Vulkanfiber grinding wheels point away from each other.
- the solution according to the invention has shown in a further unexpected manner without the use of an additional support plate as sufficiently solid.
- the omission of a separate backing pad reduces the overall tool cost and weight of the tool when used on hand tools. Furthermore, the elimination of the additional support plate, the heat dissipation is improved.
- the solution according to the invention by eliminating the backing plate and the very small thickness, also makes it possible to machine surfaces in narrow grooves.
- the Vulkanfiber grinding tool according to the invention not only substantially narrower grooves can be achieved, as with the known tools, but also with wider grooves eliminates the risk of contact of a support plate with a cheek of the groove and thus damage to the workpiece.
- the tool according to the invention can be excellently easily by means of a central hole on a machine tool spindle in a conventional manner, for example, with disc and nut, fixed and after wear of the tool so pure material waste is obtained. It is also possible, in a central region of the Vulkanfiber grinding tool in the adhesive layer further embed a driver element to achieve faster attachment of Vulkanfiber grinding tool with a machine drive, in particular, when the driver element has a contact surface for conditioning the Vulkanfiber grinding tool on the having a mechanical drive, wherein the driver element is formed cranked, so that the abutment surface is arranged axially offset from a longitudinal center plane of the vulcanized fiber grinding tool.
- This grinding tool according to the invention can be placed on a Place the entire side for grinding, corresponding to an angle of attack of 0 °. This is particularly simple if only one thread is formed in the driver element in the region of the contact surface.
- Vulkanfiber grinding tool further comprises a driver element is arranged for connecting the Vulkanfiber grinding tool with a machine drive, wherein the driver element passes through the grinding wheels through a central hole and glued Vulkanfiber grinding wheels are attached to the driver element.
- the grinding tool has through holes transversely to a longitudinal center plane of the vulcanized fiber grinding tool. These holes allow on the one hand during operation a view of the workpiece, on the other hand, they improve the heat dissipation of the workpiece surface.
- the Tool Manual Horse D21 page 43/204, describes grinding wheels and matching backing pads with holes. However, these holes should be used with appropriately equipped machine for the suction of grinding dust during grinding, to delay clogging of the grinding wheel.
