Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cladding for a household appliance, the cladding comprising a self-supporting support frame for accommodating the household appliance and comprising at least one cladding element arranged on the support frame.
  • Panels for household appliances e.g. household refrigerating appliances such as refrigerators, freezers or fridge-freezers, dishwashers, washing machines or stoves are known in principle. These covers are intended to change the external appearance of a household appliance that is already functional, in particular one that can be set up or installed, for the user. Household appliances can thus be produced in a simple manner which differ from one another in terms of their external appearance, but which use one and the same household appliance, namely either without a cover or with a corresponding cover.
  • encased household refrigeration appliances are known, the cladding of which mimics the style of a household refrigeration appliance from past decades. So it is known to include a household refrigeration appliance in a cladding made of sheet metal, which completely surrounds and supports the household refrigeration appliance. In this case, all components of the paneling that are visible to a user are provided with a desired surface quality, color and materiality.
  • a covering for household, catering or retail devices comprising two lateral covering elements and an upper covering element, the covering elements being fastened to side walls and a top wall of the device.
  • the U.S. 6,086,174 A discloses an instrument housing having panels releasably secured to a support frame to allow full access to internal working parts of the instrument.
  • One of the panels comprises mutually perpendicular walls delimiting a machine room of the device.
  • the U.S. 4,771,908 A discloses an equipment case having a frame and five panels that lock the frame on five sides to house equipment such as computer equipment, chemical process equipment, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic equipment, etc.
  • the U.S. 4,946,032 A discloses a display cooler having a vessel of insulating material resting on four posts of a stand.
  • a covering structure surrounds the container and the base and is covered on three sides by decorative panels.
  • the object of the present invention is in particular to provide a cladding as mentioned at the outset with improved properties and to provide a household appliance covered with a cladding according to the invention, with the cladding in particular allowing the external appearance to be designed flexibly.
  • the cover in the case of a cover for a household appliance that is functional on its own, which has a body and at least one door hinged thereto for closing a storage space arranged within the body, the cover comprises a self-supporting support frame for accommodating the household appliance and comprises at least one on the support frame arranged cladding element, provided that the supporting frame is essentially completely covered by the at least one cladding element.
  • the cladding can essentially completely cover the outer surfaces of the household appliance that is being held, i.e. cover them for a user so that he only sees the cladding.
  • the cladding can in particular represent the outer surfaces of a refrigeration device having the cladding that are visible to a user.
  • the phrase “cover essentially completely” is to be understood here to mean that a user cannot at least essentially not see an outer surface of the household appliance due to the covering. It should not be ruled out that, despite the cladding, a user can still see small sections of the household appliance compared to the overall outer surface of the household appliance, e.g. through ventilation slots in the cladding or through an opening in the cladding through which an electrical connection cable is routed.
  • the support frame accommodating the household appliance is preferably designed to support the household appliance completely, i.e. to completely absorb the weight of the household appliance. Since the support frame is designed to be self-supporting, the support frame can be set up without additional components, in particular without the at least one cladding element. In particular, the support frame can be designed in such a way that the support frame can also be set up with a household appliance accommodated in it without additional components.
  • the cladding preferably does not require any further components in order to be set up independently with or without a household appliance.
  • a household appliance having a cladding according to the invention is preferably a free-standing appliance, ie the outer surfaces of the cladding are preferably suitable for being set up in living spaces in terms of material and surface quality.
  • the supporting frame is essentially no longer visible to a user. "Essentially” also means here that, compared to the overall outer surface of the at least one cladding element, small sections of the support frame may still be visible to the user, e.g. through ventilation slots or through an opening for feeding through an electrical connection line. However, it also includes the fact that the support frame is completely covered for a user. In particular, if a household appliance is accommodated in the supporting frame, i.e. is covered by the cladding, the at least one cladding element essentially completely covers the supporting frame even when the door of the supporting frame is open.
  • the cladding is suitable and intended for accommodating a functional household appliance, i.e. for cladding it.
  • a "functional household appliance” is understood to mean a household appliance which can already be used as intended on its own, and in particular does not require any further components such as cladding, outer walls, insulation elements, etc. It can be a free-standing household appliance in which the outer walls already have a high-quality external appearance, so that the free-standing household appliance is intended to be set up in living spaces without additional panels. It can also be a built-in household appliance, which can already be used as intended, but which is intended to be installed in a furniture niche.
  • the invention is based on the finding that by separating the component provided for accommodating the household appliance, namely the support frame, from the component forming the external appearance, namely the at least one cladding element, an extremely flexible cladding that is improved in terms of the use of materials is created. which is also easy and inexpensive to produce.
  • the support frame can be optimized to meet the requirements for accommodating the household appliance without having to take the external appearance of the support frame into account.
  • the structural design, the materiality and the surface finish of the support frame is essentially covered by the at least one cladding element, these properties of the support frame from a purely structural point of view, ie maximum mechanical strength, and from the point of view cost reduction can be selected.
  • only the at least one cladding element has to meet the requirements of an outer surface visible to a user with regard to the structural design, in particular the shape, with regard to the material and with regard to the surface quality.
  • the at least one cladding element does not have to be designed for a load-bearing function, in particular not for a load-bearing function for a household appliance.
  • While one and the same support frame can be used many times to accommodate a specific household appliance, a high level of variability in the manufacture of the panels according to the invention can be achieved by using different ones of the at least one paneling elements.
  • the coloring of the paneling can be changed very easily during production or panels with different colors can be produced, since only the coloring of the at least one paneling element, preferably only the coloring of its outer surfaces, has to be changed. Panels that appear completely different to a user in terms of their external appearance can also be produced easily and flexibly by merely changing the shape of the at least one panel element.
  • the external appearance of a covering according to the invention can be changed in the course of use. Because the support frame is essentially completely covered by the at least one cladding element, it does not have to be changed for this purpose. In particular, it can thus be made possible to bring about a change in the external appearance without having to remove the household appliance from the support frame. Thus, damage to the cladding on the at least one cladding element can also be remedied easily and inexpensively by replacing the same.
  • a high load capacity of the support frame is given in particular when it is provided that the support frame has at least one frame.
  • This is preferably a rectangular and/or closed frame.
  • the frame is made in one piece and one material, eg is stamped out of a plate or is made by (injection) molding.
  • the frame is composed of, preferably at least four, frame profiles.
  • the frame profiles are preferably elongated components. It is possible for a cross section in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal extent of the frame profile to be constant over the entire longitudinal extent of the frame profile, with the exception of any cross-sectional changes that may be present at end sections of the frame profile.
  • the frame profiles can consist of solid material, eg with a rectangular cross-section.
  • the frame profiles can also be formed by U-profiles, I-profiles, T-profiles or square tubes. Provision is preferably made for this cross-sectional profile to be identical for two, more preferably for three and more preferably for all four frame profiles.
  • the frame profiles can be connected directly to one another and/or connected via a fastening component connected to two frame profiles at two ends of these frame profiles.
  • the frame profiles are preferably connected to one another and/or to the fastening component in a form-fitting and/or force-fitting manner, in particular by means of screw connections.
  • the frame has two horizontal frame profiles and two vertical frame profiles, which are preferably connected to one another via angle pieces.
  • the information "horizontal” and “vertical” refers here and in the following to a properly installed cladding.
  • the angle pieces allow precise alignment of the two frame profiles connected to them.
  • the angle pieces can have two legs that protrude from one another, for example at right angles.
  • the legs can have fastening means, e.g. bores or threaded bores, in order to enable the frame profiles to be fastened. It is also conceivable for an angle piece to have three legs which are perpendicular to one another, one leg being able to serve for the attachment and/or attachment of the household appliance; this leg can in particular have fastening means, e.g. bores or threaded bores, for fastening the household appliance.
  • fastening means e.g. bores or threaded bores
  • a clear width between the two vertical frame profiles is greater than or equal to the width of a household appliance to be accommodated and that a clear width between the two horizontal frame profiles is greater than or equal to the height of a household appliance to be accommodated.
  • Fastening means of the support frame for fastening the household appliance can be provided and arranged in such a way that the household appliance is surrounded by the frame.
  • a particularly stable and yet cost-effective support frame can be achieved if it is provided that the support frame has a front frame in the depth direction and a rear frame in the depth direction.
  • the “depth direction” refers to the direction of a paneling that has been set up as intended, from a front side to a rear side. It is possible that both frames have the same clear width vertically and/or horizontally. In particular, it is conceivable that both frames are essentially identical, i.e. e.g. apart from possible fastening areas for e.g. a door.
  • the front frame and the rear frame are connected to one another via a strut and/or a plate of the support frame.
  • a strut allows a high area moment of inertia and thus a particularly stable connection of the two frames.
  • square tubes, U-profiles, I-profiles or T-profiles are conceivable as struts.
  • the support frame can be closed off from the outside by a plate, so that targeted air circulation between the household refrigeration appliance and the support frame is promoted, particularly when a household refrigeration appliance is being accommodated.
  • a panel can be used to create a large-area connection surface, for example to connect the at least one cladding element to the panel, e.g. to glue it.
  • the plate is arranged on a vertical frame profile of the front frame and on a vertical frame profile of the rear frame and extends over at least 50%, preferably over at least 75%, more preferably over at least 90% %, extends a vertical extension of the support frame.
  • the plate thus extends in the depth direction from the front frame to the rear frame.
  • the plate is arranged on an outwardly facing surface of the front frame and the rear frame, the front frame, the rear frame and the plate in depth direction are covered. Furthermore, a cavity is formed between the panel and a plane including inwardly facing surfaces of the front and rear frames.
  • this hollow space can favor heat conduction by convention, particularly in the case of a domestic refrigeration appliance that is housed therein.
  • production-related bulges on the outer walls of the household appliance can dip into the cavity; despite the bulges, the plate can thus lie in one plane, which ultimately means that a paneling element arranged on the plate can also lie in one plane.
  • front frame and the rear frame may be connected to one another via one or two further frames, e.g. side frames.
  • the casing has a cavity for accommodating the household appliance. This cavity is more preferably accessible through a front opening and the opening can be closed by at least one door of the casing.
  • the door of the paneling is designed to accommodate a door of the household appliance, in particular to panel a door of the household appliance with at least one paneling element.
  • household appliances with a door that closes an interior space of the household appliance have one or more hinges for articulating the door on a body of the household appliance.
  • the at least one door of the casing is or are articulated to a body of the casing by one or more hinges of the casing—even if the door of the casing is designed to accommodate a door of the household appliance.
  • the hinge or hinges of the cladding is or are fastened to the supporting frame, preferably to a frame of the supporting frame. It is possible for a hinge to be arranged on an outwardly directed surface of a frame profile, preferably a vertical frame profile. A simple assembly and subsequent exchangeability is achieved when the hinge is screwed to the support frame. For this purpose, it is particularly advantageous if the screw connections are still accessible from the outside when the cladding is finished.
  • the at least one cladding element can have openings that make a screw head accessible.
  • the support frame has holding means arranged exclusively on the side and/or above for hanging the household appliance.
  • the support frame has at least one support surface for supporting the household appliance.
  • the at least one support surface essentially, preferably completely, absorbs the weight of the household appliance.
  • the household appliance is preferably within the support frame, ie it has no contact with a floor on which the paneling is standing.
  • the support surface can be formed on a frame of the support frame, preferably on both a front and a rear frame, and/or on a floor of the support frame.
  • a support surface for supporting the household appliance is formed on a strut, preferably on a strut attached to two frames, of the supporting frame.
  • the support surface is preferably formed in one piece and from one material with the strut.
  • the support surface can be formed, for example, by an angled leg, preferably lying in a horizontal plane.
  • the support surface preferably extends in the depth direction of the paneling essentially over the entire extent of the strut.
  • the support frame preferably has two struts which connect a front frame and a rear frame at a lower left corner and a lower right corner area and which each have an inwardly protruding leg as a support surface.
  • a simple manufacture and assembly is achieved if it is provided that the complete support frame is mounted in a form-fitting and/or force-fitting manner.
  • materially bonded connections such as welding or gluing can be dispensed with.
  • a high stability of the support frame is ensured if at least essential components of the support frame are made of metal.
  • “Essential components” include in particular those components that serve to support a household appliance to be accommodated. For example, support surface or components that form support surfaces, or components to which the household appliance is attached, such as vertical frame profiles for screwing on the household appliance.
  • the entire support frame is preferably made of metal.
  • the at least one cladding element can be selected from a material that is optimal with regard to the external appearance. It is conceivable that the at least one cladding element consists of sheet metal, in particular (stainless) steel sheet or aluminum sheet, or consists of plastic. If several cladding elements are present, they can consist of different materials.
  • the at least one cladding element is preferably surface-treated completely or at least on the outward-facing surfaces, in particular painted, foiled, printed or sandblasted. In principle, the same or different materials can be selected for the support frame and the cladding element.
  • connection between the support frame and the cladding element that does not require fastening means that are visible from the outside and is nevertheless stable is present if the connection is at least partially materially bonded, in particular by gluing.
  • the cladding element is connected to the support frame in a material-to-material and/or form-fitting manner, preferably glued and/or screwed.
  • the cladding has a plurality of cladding elements. It is possible for two cladding elements, in particular adjacent cladding elements, to be connected separately to the support frame without these two cladding elements being attached to one another. Easier assembly and disassembly can be made possible if two cladding elements are connected to one another. This assembly can, for example, be connected to the supporting frame in a material-to-material and/or form-fitting and/or force-fitting manner.
  • the cladding elements are preferably thin-walled components.
  • a front frame, two shell-shaped side walls and a rear wall are provided as cladding elements.
  • the front frame can enclose a front opening of the support frame, so that access to a household appliance that has been accommodated is created.
  • the side walls are shell-shaped, they can also at least partially encompass and cover an upper side and/or an underside of the support frame.
  • a shell-shaped side wall covers the upper side of the support frame and the underside of the support frame in half. The rest of the top and bottom are replaced by each other bowl-shaped side wall covered.
  • the cup-shaped side walls preferably have two radii of equal size at the transition from the vertical extent of the side wall to the horizontal extent of the side wall.
  • the rear wall can close a rear opening of the support frame, which can be used to insert the household appliance.
  • a rear wall as a cladding element is fastened to the support frame by means of two fastening areas and has a projection pointing outwards between the fastening areas.
  • the projection is preferably aligned to the rear in the depth direction and forms a rear end of the paneling in the depth direction. This allows the projection to be used as a stop when the panel is pushed against a wall. In this way, in particular, a gap can be formed between the projection and a rear side of a household appliance accommodated in the panel. For example, when cladding a household refrigeration appliance, this creates the possibility of better heat dissipation.
  • the rear wall has an opening at an upper edge and a lower edge.
  • the rear wall can be a stamped and bent component. Provision is preferably made for the rear wall to have a constant cross-sectional profile along its vertical extent, apart from any openings that may be present (ventilation holes, cable ducts). For example, the fastening areas and the projection can be introduced by folding over a metal sheet.
  • the cladding Since the cladding is designed to hold an operational household appliance, there are basically no special requirements for the thermal insulation of the cladding. Although it is fundamentally possible to equip the cladding with additional thermal insulation elements, it is preferably provided that the cladding has no thermal insulation elements. “Thermal insulation elements” are to be understood in particular as areas filled with insulation material such as polyurethane foam or evacuated areas or components, such as vacuum insulation panels. The frame profiles, struts or plates that can be used to construct the support frame or the, for example, thin-walled, cladding elements are not to be understood as thermal insulation elements.
  • the casing can be connected to a household appliance in a form-fitting and/or force-fitting manner.
  • the cladding can have bores and/or threaded bores.
  • the object mentioned at the outset is also achieved by a household appliance, in particular a household refrigeration appliance, with a casing according to the invention.
  • the cladding can in particular have features according to the previous description and also the following description of the exemplary embodiments.
  • the household appliance can be, for example, a household refrigeration appliance which has a body and at least one door hinged thereto for closing a storage space arranged within the body.
  • the body has an outer wall, an inner wall delimiting the cooling space and insulating material arranged between these walls.
  • the door of the household appliance has insulating material between an outward-facing outer wall and an inner wall facing the storage space.
  • the domestic appliance is screwed to the support frame with a stiffening element arranged behind an outer wall.
  • the stiffening element can, for example, be a sheet metal strip or an elongated profile element (e.g. L-angle).
  • the stiffening element is particularly embedded in the insulation material of the household appliance.
  • the casing can be removed from the household appliance without being destroyed.
  • the household appliance can be removed from the casing and the casing still represents a self-supporting structure that can be used to re-cladding a household appliance.
  • the domestic appliance is not connected to the at least one covering element.
  • an air gap between lateral outer walls of the household appliance and the outer walls opposite these Sections of the support frame or the at least one cladding element exist.
  • Y denotes the depth direction of the cladding
  • X the width direction
  • Z the height direction.
  • the support frame 1 shows a support frame 1 assembled from several individual parts, which is designed to be self-supporting, ie can stand without additional components and, in particular, can accommodate and support a functional household appliance even without additional components.
  • the support frame can be placed on a floor with supports, the front supports being formed by screwed-on, height-adjustable feet 2a, while the rear supports are formed by rollers 2b in order to cover the support frame 1 comprehensively when erected at its final place to move.
  • the support frame 1 has a front frame 3 and a rear frame 4 in the depth direction Y. Both frames lie in an XZ plane and consist of several individual parts.
  • the front frame 3 has two horizontal frame sections 3a and two vertical frame sections 3b which are detachably connected to one another at respective ends. In particular, the ends of the frame profiles 3a, 3b are screwed to angle pieces 6.
  • the rear frame 4 is formed by two horizontal frame profiles 4a and two vertical frame profiles 4b, the ends of which are connected via angle pieces 6 are screwed.
  • the frame profiles 3a, 3b, 4a, 4b are not screwed directly to one another in order to enable simpler production of the same.
  • the frame profiles 3a, 3b, 4a, 4b consist of a metal square tube, in particular a square tube with an identical cross section, which has been cut to length accordingly.
  • an edge 7 was removed over a section of the vertical extension of the frame profile 3b in order to be able to form a recessed grip using a paneling element later attached to it.
  • the front frame 3 is connected to the rear frame 4 by metal components.
  • two plates 9, 10 are attached to outward-facing surfaces 8, which lie in a Y-Z plane, ie are laterally outward-facing.
  • the plates 9, 10 are screwed to threaded holes 11 of the surfaces 8.
  • Outwardly facing surfaces 12 of the panels 9, 10 form the outer lateral boundaries of the support frame 1.
  • the panels 9, 10 are metal sheets.
  • the front frame 3 and the rear frame 4 are connected by two further panels 15, 16, one of these panels 15 forming a ceiling and the other panel 16 forming a floor of the supporting frame 1.
  • the plates 15, 16 are attached, namely screwed, to outwardly facing surfaces 17, in particular to upwardly and downwardly facing surfaces 17 (only the upwardly facing surface is partially visible) of the horizontal frame profiles 3a, 4a.
  • the panels 15, 16 thus represent the outer upper and lower boundaries of the support frame 1.
  • the panels 15, 16 do not have a continuous surface. Rather, the plates 15, 16 have rectangular openings 15a, 16a. These openings 15a, 16a have been made in the formerly flat plates 15, 16 by first making cuts and then wings 15b, 16b with respect to FIG the support frame 1 were pivoted inwards by means of plastic deformation.
  • Each of the openings 15a, 16a is thus enclosed by two wings 15b, 16b running parallel and in the depth direction Y.
  • the length of the wings 15b, 16b i.e. their extension in the depth direction Y, essentially corresponds to the distance between mutually facing surfaces 18 of the horizontal frame profiles 3a, 4a of the front frame 3 and the rear frame 4.
  • the wings 15b, 16b thus contribute to the stabilization of the Support frame 1 at.
  • the frame profiles 3a, 3b, 4a, 4b are rounded off by removing outwardly directed surfaces and providing radii on the remaining walls 20 of the square tubes.
  • the radii of two frame profiles 3a, 3b, 4a, 4b connected by means of an angle piece 6 are of the same size and the curvature lies in an X-Z plane. Cladding elements attached to the support frame 1 can follow these curvatures, so that a visually high-quality external appearance is created which, moreover, has no sharp edges and the high stability of the support frame 1 is nevertheless retained.
  • Hinges 21 are screwed to laterally outwardly facing surfaces 8 of a vertical frame profile 3b of the front frame 3 . Due to the high strength of the frame 3 and its precise manufacture, a simply constructed and inexpensive hinge can be used. It is a rolled hinge 21 with three trades 21a, 21b, of which two trades 21b are screwed to the frame profile 3b. The articulation 21a that is movable for this purpose can be screwed onto a door or a paneling of a door of the household appliance to be accommodated.
  • struts 22, 23 are stamped and bent parts, each of which has an inwardly directed and horizontally arranged support wing 22a having a support surface 22b. This can be used to laterally or vertically support a household appliance accommodated in the support frame 1 .
  • FIG. 3 shows an exploded view of a panel according to the invention and a household appliance 24 in the form of a household refrigerator.
  • the household appliance 24 is already functional without the cladding, i.e. in particular it is already intended to be used independently as a household appliance in this condition (as a free-standing appliance or built into a furniture niche in a kitchen) and does not require the cladding to be used as intended by an end user.
  • the household appliance 24 is a fridge-freezer combination, comprising a body 24a and two doors 24b, by means of which two interior spaces, not shown, can be closed. The interior spaces are delimited by inner containers, which are separated by the in 3 visible outer walls of the body 24a are bordered. Insulation material in the form of polyurethane foam is inserted between the inner containers and the outer walls.
  • the cladding comprises a plurality of cladding elements 25a to 25f which are suitable for covering the supporting frame 1 essentially completely.
  • the paneling elements 25a to 25f consist of two door panels 26, 27 for the doors 24b, a front frame 28, two shell-shaped side walls 29, 30 and a rear wall 31.
  • the shell-shaped side walls 29, 30 are materially attached to the surfaces 12 of the panels 9, 10 and to a surface 32 of the panel 15 forming the top of the support frame 1 and a non-visible surface of the panel 16 forming the bottom of the support frame 1. This material connection is realized by an adhesive connection.
  • the left side wall 29 is already connected to the front frame 28, namely glued.
  • the cup-shaped side walls 29, 30 each have three flat sections 29a, 30a which are separated from one another by two curved sections 29b, 30b. Radii of the curved sections 29b, 30b in an X-Z plane essentially correspond to the radii of two frame profiles 3a, 3b, 4a, 4b connected by means of an angle piece 6 at their end sections. Despite the curvature, the side walls 29, 30 are thus supported by the supporting frame 1 in the best possible way.
  • Ventilation openings 32 through which cooling air can enter are provided on the lower planar sections 29a, 30a.
  • the front frame 28 is a stamped and bent component and has a closed frame 28a lying in the X-Z plane, as well as fastening wings 28b extending in the depth direction Y.
  • the front frame 28 can be fastened to the support frame 1 by means of the four fastening wings 28b, namely screwed on. After mounting the front frame 28 on the support frame 1, it covers the front frame 3 of the support frame 1 completely.
  • the front frame 28 thus encloses the front opening 33 of the support frame 1 already defined by the front frame 3 .
  • the rear wall 31 has both a cable opening 34 for passing through an electrical connection cable of the household appliance 24 and ventilation openings 35 for dissipating waste heat from the household appliance 24 .
  • doors 24b of the household appliance 24 are in 3 shown state struck on the body 24a. However, when the household appliance 24 is installed in the paneling, they are detached from the household appliance 24 and embedded in the corresponding door panels 26, 27. In the Figures 2a and 2b shown trade 21a of the hinge (in 3 not shown) are screwed to the door panels 26, 27.
  • the household appliance 24 can be accommodated in the casing after this has been largely assembled, i.e. up to the assembly of the rear wall 31.
  • the household appliance 24 is pushed into a rear opening 36 and screwed tight. Thereafter, the rear wall 31 can be screwed to the support frame 1 .
  • FIG. 4 shows a detail of a rear view of a panel according to the invention according to a second embodiment. Except for the design of the rear wall 31, this corresponds to the first exemplary embodiment according to FIG Figures 1 to 3 .
  • this now has two fastening regions 37 and a projection 38 arranged between them in the width direction X. Both the fastening areas 37 and the projection 38 extend in the vertical direction Z essentially over the entire vertical extent of the rear wall 31.
  • the waste heat from the household appliance 24 can escape through an opening 39 at the upper end of the rear wall 31, while cooling air can flow in at a comparable opening at the lower end of the rear wall 31.
