Definitions

  • the present invention relates to protective equipment, such as a bumper protection vest, comprising at least one dorsal part, intended to cover at least a portion of the back of a user, and at least one front part intended for covering at least a portion of the torso of the user, the back portion comprising at least one rear side flap and the front portion comprising at least one front side flap, said flaps being fixed to one another in an adjustable manner and defining between them a portion of a user's arm passage, each of said flaps comprising a contact portion, said contact portions extending facing each other when the vest is worn.

  • Such equipment is for example intended for law enforcement or security officers for example.
  • Such equipment must be able to protect the user against violent shocks, possibly carried by heavy objects, for example during demonstrations or clashes.
  • the equipment is worn around the upper body, usually accompanied by a helmet to protect the user's head.
  • the vests of this type known are generally made in several parts permanently attached to each other and slip through the head as a chasuble or as a jacket.
  • This type of equipment should be worn closer to the body to allow great freedom of movement to the user and not to interfere in its maneuvers.
  • this type of equipment is usually pooled in a barracks so that it can be worn by different people of different build.
  • it is intended to allow adjustment of the tightening of the equipment to adjust to the build of the person who wears it and possibly to facilitate its introduction and withdrawal by loosening the equipment.
  • each side portion is formed by two flaps, one of which is integral with the dorsal portion and the other is integral with the front portion, and provided with self-gripping means for securing a fastener. removable from one flap to the other in different positions.
  • the flaps overlap in part so as not to expose the user to the ribs, regardless of its size, for better protection on a part of contact between the flaps.
  • the shutters are fixed in a fastening zone generally leaving a portion of the free cover flap to provide a range of adjustment of the tightening of the vest by varying the location of the fastening area relative to the free portion.
  • the larger the free part the closer the vest is.
  • This free part is “flying” and is likely to fold on itself or against the dorsal part. This happens, for example, when the user quickly puts on the vest, in an emergency situation.
  • the vest is not in its optimal state of use and leaves part of the side of the user with a protection reduced or nonexistent.
  • This folding also causes discomfort to the user, making the vest less comfortable.
  • One of the aims of the invention is to overcome these disadvantages by providing protective equipment to ensure better attachment of the side flaps, to optimize the protection offered by the vest.
  • the invention relates to a protective equipment of the aforementioned type, comprising at least one elastic internal strap fixed on the one hand to one of the flaps and on the other hand to the contact part of the other component and it comprises a passer extending over the contact portion of one of the flaps, the other flap being engaged in said passer.
  • the term “external” is defined by what is turned outwardly of the protective equipment, that is to say opposite the part of the body carrying the equipment, and the term “internal” by what is turned inward of the equipment, that is to say towards the part of the body carrying the equipment.
  • the term “front” refers to what is turned to the torso of the user of the equipment and the term “back” which is turned to the back of it when the equipment is worn.

In the following description, will be described more particularly the vest 1 comprising two front portions 2 and 4.
  • the front portions 2 and 4 are connected to the dorsal portion 6 by lateral flaps, defining with the straps 8 openings 10 for the passage of the arms of the user.
  • the dorsal portion 6 comprises two rear lateral flaps 12 extending on either side of the dorsal portion 6 and being spaced from the shoulder straps 8. The rear lateral flaps 12 thus extend towards the front portions 2 and 4 the user's ribs so as to cover a portion of the sidewalls thereof, as shown in FIG. Fig. 2 .
  • Each front portion 2, 4 comprises a front side panel 14 spaced apart from a strap 8 and extending towards the dorsal portion.
