Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for producing a water-soluble packaging which comprises a liquid washing or cleaning agent and a water-soluble casing.
- Detergents and cleaning agents are now available to consumers in a wide variety of forms. In addition to powders and granules, this range also includes, for example, liquids, gels or portion packs (tablets or filled bags).
- portion packs in the form of water-soluble packaging with liquid detergents or cleaning agents are becoming more and more popular;
- Such a water-soluble bag contains an agent and a transparent, water-soluble envelope.
- detergents In order, for example, to prevent previously loosened dirt from being redeposited, detergents contain so-called graying inhibitors, such as carboxymethyl cellulose. Due to the low solubility of carboxymethyl cellulose in liquid detergents or cleaning agents, clouding occurs when carboxymethyl cellulose is incorporated into liquid washing or cleaning agents. This leads to an aesthetically unappealing product.
- washing or cleaning agents In order to increase or lengthen the scent impression of the surfaces treated with them, such as textiles, washing or cleaning agents contain perfume capsules. In order to achieve a homogeneous and stable distribution of the perfume capsules and thus to achieve an aesthetically pleasing product, the detergents or cleaning agents contain thickeners and / or dispersants. These agents are often very expensive and do not themselves show any washing or cleaning performance.
- the object of the invention is, in the production of a water-soluble packaging which comprises a liquid detergent or cleaning agent and a water-soluble casing, to produce a permanent print image on the water-soluble cover, which is stable against smudging or disappearing and against mechanical friction.
- the invention relates to a method for producing a water-soluble packaging which contains a liquid detergent or cleaning agent and a water-soluble casing.
- the water-soluble cover is at least partially colored with a coloring substance
- a water-soluble packaging contains a water-soluble casing which forms a closed structure which has one or more chambers in its interior for receiving one or more agents.
- the water-soluble envelope is formed by a water-soluble film material.
- the water-soluble packaging can be designed to be dimensionally stable or deformable.
- the water-soluble packaging in principle, however, it is also possible and preferred to shape the water-soluble packaging as a non-dimensionally stable container, for example as a bag.
- the shape of such a water-soluble packaging can largely be adapted to the conditions of use. For example, a wide variety of shapes such as hoses, cushions, cylinders, bottles or disks are possible.
- the water-soluble packaging can have one or more chambers for storing one or more agents.
- the water-soluble packaging preferably has between two and five chambers.
- the water-soluble envelope is preferably formed from a water-soluble film material which is selected from the group consisting of polymers or polymer mixtures.
- the envelope can be formed from one or from two or more layers of the water-soluble film material.
- the water-soluble film material of the first layer and the further layers, if any, can be the same or different.
- Particularly preferred are foils which, for example, can be glued and / or sealed to form packaging such as tubes or pillows after they have been filled with an agent.
- the water-soluble casing contains polyvinyl alcohol or a polyvinyl alcohol copolymer.
- Water-soluble casings which contain polyvinyl alcohol or a polyvinyl alcohol copolymer have good stability with sufficiently high water solubility, in particular cold water solubility.
- Suitable water-soluble films for producing the water-soluble envelope are preferably based on a polyvinyl alcohol or a polyvinyl alcohol copolymer whose molecular weight is in the range from 10,000 to 1,000,000 gmol -1 , preferably from 20,000 to 500,000 gmol -1 , particularly preferably from 30,000 to 100,000 gmol -1 and in particular from 40,000 to 80,000 gmol -1 .
- polyvinyl alcohol is usually done by hydrolysis of polyvinyl acetate, since the direct synthesis route is not possible.
- polyvinyl alcohol copolymers which are produced from polyvinyl acetate copolymers.
- at least one layer of the water-soluble coating comprises a polyvinyl alcohol whose degree of hydrolysis is 70 to 100 mol%, preferably 80 to 90 mol%, particularly preferably 81 to 89 mol% and in particular 82 to 88 mol%.
- a polyvinyl alcohol-containing film material suitable for producing the water-soluble envelope can additionally contain a polymer selected from the group comprising (meth) acrylic acid-containing (co) polymers, polyacrylamides, oxazoline polymers, polystyrene sulfonates, polyurethanes, polyesters, polyethers, polylactic acid or mixtures of the above Polymers may be added.
- a preferred additional polymer are polylactic acids.
- Preferred polyvinyl alcohol copolymers include, in addition to vinyl alcohol, dicarboxylic acids as further monomers.
- Suitable dicarboxylic acids are itaconic acid, malonic acid, succinic acid and mixtures thereof, with itaconic acid being preferred.
- polyvinyl alcohol copolymers include, in addition to vinyl alcohol, an ethylenic one unsaturated carboxylic acid, its salt or its ester.
- Such polyvinyl alcohol copolymers particularly preferably contain acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, acrylic acid esters, methacrylic acid esters or mixtures thereof in addition to vinyl alcohol.
- the film material contains further additives.
- the film material can for example contain plasticizers such as dipropylene glycol, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, propylene glycol, glycerine, sorbitol, mannitol or mixtures thereof.
- Further additives include, for example, release aids, fillers, crosslinking agents, surfactants, antioxidants, UV absorbers, antiblocking agents, anti-stick agents or mixtures thereof.
- Suitable water-soluble films for use in the water-soluble envelopes of the water-soluble packaging according to the invention are films which are sold by MonoSol LLC, for example under the designation M8630, C8400 or M8900.
- Other suitable films include films with the designation Solublon® PT, Solublon® GA, Solublon® KC or Solublon® KL from Aicello Chemical Europe GmbH or the films VF-HP from Kuraray.
- the water-soluble envelope is colored with a coloring substance selected from the group consisting of pigments, bluing agents and / or pearlescent agents.
- the coloring substance is applied to the inner surface of the water-soluble cover by means of printing.
- the inner surface of the water-soluble cover is at least partially printed with a coloring substance.
- a coloring substance it is particularly preferable for the printing on the water-soluble cover to be water-soluble or water-dispersible.
- Applying the coloring substance by means of printing has the advantage that the coloring of the water-soluble casing is individualized, that is to say it can be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the respective water-soluble packaging.
- any form of printing can be used to print the water-soluble cover, such as, for example, gravure printing, offset printing, screen printing, flexographic printing, airbrush, inkjet printing or pad printing or any combination of these printing technologies.
- the printing is preferably carried out by means of inkjet printing, since with this printing technology there is no mechanical contact with and therefore no mechanical stress on the water-soluble envelope. The same applies to direct printing with piezo technology, as this also takes place without contact.
- Printing using inkjet printing or direct printing with piezo technology is suitable in particular for printing on water-soluble packaging.
- the water-soluble envelope can be printed with a water-soluble ink or another suitable medium.
- Water-soluble inks are known, for example, under the trade name SunChemical Aquadestruct from SunChemical, Aqua Poly Super Opaque White QW000046 from Environmental Inks or Opta Film OPQ White WOL009656 from Water Ink Technologies Inc.
- the printing can take place in the form of areas, so that the water-soluble cover is at least partially colored with a coloring substance over the entire area.
- the printing can be in the form of letters, numbers, symbols, ornaments or the like.
- the water-soluble envelope can be transparent, translucent or opaque in the area that is colored.
- Suitable pigments which can be contained in the medium for printing the inner surface of the water-soluble envelope are, for example, ultramarine or titanium dioxide.
- Suitable bluing agents which can be contained in the medium for printing the inner surface of the water-soluble envelope are, for example, dyes which are classified in the Color Index (CI) as Direct Blue, Direct Red, Direct Violet, Acid Blue, Acid Red, Acid Violet , Basic Blue, Basic Violet or Basic Red.
- CI Color Index
- polymeric dyes such as those available, for example, from Milliken under the name “Liquitint®”. Pigments such as ultramarine are also suitable as bluing agents.
- Pearlescent agents that may be included in the medium for printing the inner surface of the water-soluble envelope are mica, metal oxide coated mica, silica coated mica, bismuth oxychloride coated mica, bismuth oxychloride, glass, metal oxide coated glass, polyester glitter and / or metal glitter.
- the term “inner surface of the water-soluble envelope” denotes the surface which is in contact with the agent enclosed by the water-soluble envelope.
- the water-soluble packaging has a liquid washing or cleaning agent.
- the water-soluble packaging has a chamber for receiving the agent.
- the water-soluble packaging has two chambers.
- the water-soluble packaging has three chambers, these can each contain a liquid agent.
- the liquid washing or cleaning agents that are contained in the different chambers of a water-soluble packaging can have the same composition.
- the agents preferably have compositions which differ in at least one ingredient or at least in the content of one ingredient.
- the liquid detergent or cleaning agent contains ingredients that do not destroy the structural integrity of the water-soluble coating.
- the liquid detergent or cleaning agent can contain one or more substances from the group of surfactants, builders, bleaches, bleach activators, bleach catalysts, enzymes, enzyme stabilizers, electrolytes, pH adjusters, perfumes, perfume carriers, fluorescent agents, dyes, hydrotopes, foam inhibitors, silicone oils, anti-redeposition agents Antimicrobial agents, antioxidants, antioxidants, preservatives, corrosion inhibitors, antistatic agents, bitter agents, ironing aids, phobic and impregnating agents, anti-slip agents, anti-slip agents, skin-proofing agents, anti-slip agents, opacifiers Contain plasticizing components, fillers and UV absorbers.
- the liquid washing or cleaning agents can contain water, the water content being less than 10% by weight and more preferably less than 8% by weight, based in each case on the total liquid washing or cleaning agent.
- the printing process can optionally be followed by a drying process in which the solvent contained in the ink or in the medium containing the coloring substance is evaporated / removed by blowing on or overblown tempered gas, passing through a drying oven or irradiation with infrared light .
- the printing process can be followed by a curing process with UV light.
