Definitions
- the invention relates to a shoe for self-supporting guardrail and a self-supporting railing for construction work, including roof-terrace type, comprising such a shoe.
- guardrail means a set of elements forming a protective barrier.
- a self-standing railing is a guardrail that is not permanently attached to a construction structure but is ballasted on the construction work to prevent any tipping. This type of self-supporting railing is very advantageous especially for a quick and inexpensive assembly / disassembly and to ensure the tightness of the construction work by avoiding damage to the support surface of the guardrail.
- the guardrails for roof terrace are installed around the perimeter of the terrace.
- guardrails typically include a plurality of substantially vertical posts that support a plurality of substantially horizontal rails.
- vertical element means any element substantially perpendicular to the ground and the term “horizontal element” any element substantially parallel to the ground.
- Each upright is supported in the lower part by a shoe, each shoe resting on the construction work and having a support mast in which is provided an enclosure, said support mast receiving a lower end of the amount concerned.
- the shoe further has a base defining an enclosure formed along a longitudinal axis of the base.
- the enclosure of the base receives a first end of an offset arm, said offset arm being equipped at its second free end with at least one ballast element.
- this known type of shoe for self-supporting railing has the disadvantage of offering only one configuration for the positioning of the offset arm, namely an offset arm which extends from the shoe in a direction along the longitudinal axis of the base, generally towards the interior of the structure.
- the ballasting is then carried out only on one side of the shoe, the one where extends the arm of offset, which is far from being reassuring especially in certain roof terrace configurations.
- the known hooves are made in one piece, offering no flexibility to the installer to adapt to the specific constraints of the construction work, whether in relation to the weighting of the self-supporting railing or still in relation to the amount of the free-standing railing.
- the object of the invention is to remedy all or some of the aforementioned drawbacks.
- the subject of the invention is a self-supporting railing shoe comprising a support mast for receiving an upright and a base for receiving an offset arm as defined by claim 1.
- the base has a first access opening and a second access opening opposite to the first access opening, the first access opening and the second access opening being each shaped to receive an offset arm.
- this shoe allows to offer several configurations for ballasting, thus offering the flexibility that is not achieved for the hooves of the state of the prior art.
- the support mast has the advantage of allowing the adjustment of the height of the railing relative to the irregularities of the laying surface.
- the first access opening and the second access opening form a lower enclosure passing right through said base for receiving said offset arm.
- the lower enclosure passing right through the base is shaped to receive the offset arm by sliding.
- the base is a profile of constant section.
- the support mast has an upper enclosure intended to receive the upright, said upper enclosure of the support mast extending substantially perpendicularly with respect to the lower enclosure of the base.
- the support mast is a profile, said support mast extending substantially perpendicular to the base.
- the support mast is a section of constant section.
- the support mast is removably attached to the base.
- the support mast is removably joined to the base by means of at least one connecting member, which is for example a self-tapping screw.
- the support mast is provided with at least one orifice receiving a wedging member for pressing the upright inside the support mast.
- the base is provided with at least one opening opening into the lower enclosure, said at least one opening being intended to receive a wedging member intended to press the offset arm to the inside said base.
- the orifices receiving a wedging member are threaded.
- the wedging members are preferably pressure screws.
- the base is provided with two orifices arranged on either side of the support mast, said two orifices being intended to each receive a wedging member.
- the wedging member is a set screw.
- the base has an upper face on which the support mast rests, and an opposite lower face widened with respect to the upper face.
- the enlarged underside allows the shoe to be more stable since the bearing surface is increased.
- the widened lower face of the base is provided with a pad.
- the pad has a peripheral rim for hooking the pad on the base.
- the peripheral rim is open at at least one of the access openings of the base to accommodate a base longer than the length of the pad.
- the support mast is equipped with an open cap positioned on the free end of the support mast.
- the cap is shaped to plug the perimeter of the support mast profile while leaving the upper enclosure of the support mast open.
- the invention also relates to a self-supporting railing comprising at least one shoe according to the invention, wherein an amount is supported by the support pole of said shoe and an offset arm is slidably mounted inside the shoe. lower enclosure of the base, said offset arm being designed to be equipped with at least one ballast element.
- the offset arm is equipped with at least one ballast element at one of its ends.
- the shoe 1 for self-supporting railing 10 comprises a base 3 and a support pole 2 removably assembled.
- the base 3 and the support mast 2 are sections of constant section, as shown in FIGS. Figures 1 to 3 , 5A, 5B, 5C and 5D .
- the support mast 2 is assembled with the base 3 by two connecting members 9b, in this case two self-tapping screws.
- the base 3 comprises a through chamber 5 and comprising two opposite access openings 5a and 5b, the access opening 5b being visible in FIG. figure 2 .
- the base 3 comprises a lower face 3b and an upper face 3a.
- the upper face 3a receives one of the faces of the support mast 2.
- the lower face 3b receives a skate 4.
- the lower face 3b is widened, and has a surface greater than the upper face 3a.
- the pad 4 comprises an open peripheral rim.
- the opening of the flange corresponds to the access opening 5a, which accommodates a base 3 of a length greater than the length of the pad 4.
- the pad 4 is clipped to the base 3 in the example illustrated.
- the support mast 2 comprises an upper enclosure 6 intended to receive an upright 11 of a self-supporting railing 10.
- two orifices 8 are provided on the support mast 2. These orifices 8 each cooperate with a wedging member 9a. In addition, two orifices 8 are also provided on either side of the support mast 2 on the base 3. These orifices 8 are intended to cooperate each with a wedging member 9a.
- the wedging members 9a which are for example pressure screws, allow the support and the wedging of the upright 11 intended to slide in the upper enclosure 6 of the support mast 2 or the offset arm 13 intended to slide in the enclosure bottom 5 of the base 3.
- the support mast 2 has a curved face shaped to receive a skirting attachment, the curved face having on both sides a projecting retaining portion forming a rail for receiving a baseboard fastener.
- This form is described more particularly in patent applications FR2975452 A1 and FR2525015 A1 .
- the invention is not limited to this example and the support mast of the invention may be devoid of this particular form.
- FIG 4 is shown the support mast 2 in top view.
- one of the faces is curved and is shaped to receive a skirting attachment, the other faces are straight.
- Two orifices 8 are formed on either side of the upper enclosure 6. These orifices 8 are intended to receive connecting members 9b shown in FIG. figures 2 and 3 .
- the upper enclosure 6 comprises projecting portions of wedges 16 for guiding the sliding of the upright 11 and wedging the upright 11 once in the upper enclosure 6.
- the orifices 8 are threaded in the example, according to the invention. It is also possible that the holes are smooth.
- the base 3 receives in the lower enclosure 5 an offset arm 13.
- the lower enclosure 5 is provided with projecting portions 15 for guiding the sliding of the offset arm 13. it can be seen that the wedging member 9a bears against the offset arm 13 which is thus immobilized.
- FIGS. 5A, 5B, 5C and 5D represent the different possible configurations of the guardrail 10 self-supporting thanks to the shoe 1 according to the invention.
- FIG. 5A is represented the configuration according to which the offset arm 13 is received by the access opening 5a and extends in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction in which the upright extends, and this, inwardly of the construction work (not shown).
- a ballast element 14 is positioned at the free end of the offset arm 13, the other end of the offset arm 13 being housed in the enclosure 5 of the base 3.
- FIG 5B a configuration is shown in which one end of the offset arm 13 is housed in the access opening 5b and the other end is equipped with a ballast element 14.
- the offset arm 13 is extends in a direction opposite to that represented in Figure 5A , ie towards the outside of the construction work.
- FIGS. 5C and 5D represent two configurations in which a weighting on either side of the shoe 1 is achieved.
- an offset arm 13 passes through the lower enclosure 5 of the base 3 and is weighted at its ends by a weighting element 14.
- a weighting element 14 Of course in this configuration it is possible that there are two arms deport 13 each introduced sliding in a different access opening 5a, 5b and extending in opposite directions.
- the offset arm is equipped with more than two weighting elements 14.
- the weighting elements 14 are shaped to receive the offset arm traversing manner.
- the base equipped with access openings 5a, 5b opposite allows to adapt the length of the arm or deport 13 depending on the construction work and the place to put the self-supporting railing 10.
