Description
The invention relates to a shoe for self-supporting guardrail and a self-supporting railing for construction work, including roof-terrace type, comprising such a shoe.
The term guardrail means a set of elements forming a protective barrier. A self-standing railing is a guardrail that is not permanently attached to a construction structure but is ballasted on the construction work to prevent any tipping. This type of self-supporting railing is very advantageous especially for a quick and inexpensive assembly / disassembly and to ensure the tightness of the construction work by avoiding damage to the support surface of the guardrail.
In known manner, the guardrails for roof terrace are installed around the perimeter of the terrace.
Most known guardrails typically include a plurality of substantially vertical posts that support a plurality of substantially horizontal rails. The term "vertical element" means any element substantially perpendicular to the ground and the term "horizontal element" any element substantially parallel to the ground. Each upright is supported in the lower part by a shoe, each shoe resting on the construction work and having a support mast in which is provided an enclosure, said support mast receiving a lower end of the amount concerned.
However, this known type of shoe for self-supporting railing has the disadvantage of offering only one configuration for the positioning of the offset arm, namely an offset arm which extends from the shoe in a direction along the longitudinal axis of the base, generally towards the interior of the structure. The ballasting is then carried out only on one side of the shoe, the one where extends the arm of offset, which is far from being reassuring especially in certain roof terrace configurations.
In addition, the known hooves are made in one piece, offering no flexibility to the installer to adapt to the specific constraints of the construction work, whether in relation to the weighting of the self-supporting railing or still in relation to the amount of the free-standing railing.
The object of the invention is to remedy all or some of the aforementioned drawbacks.
The subject of the invention is a self-supporting railing shoe comprising a support mast for receiving an upright and a base for receiving an offset arm as defined by
- a first configuration in which the offset arm extends substantially entirely from a first side of the shoe, being engaged only in the first access opening,
- a second configuration in which the offset arm extends substantially entirely from a second side of the shoe opposite the first side, being engaged only in the second access opening,
- a third configuration in which two offset arms or two portions of the same deposition arm extend from both sides of the shoe, on either side of the support mast, which allows a weighting guardrail from and other railing, thus significantly improving the stability of the self-supporting railing.
In addition, this shoe allows to offer several configurations for ballasting, thus offering the flexibility that is not achieved for the hooves of the state of the prior art. In addition, the support mast has the advantage of allowing the adjustment of the height of the railing relative to the irregularities of the laying surface.
According to a characteristic of the invention, the first access opening and the second access opening form a lower enclosure passing right through said base for receiving said offset arm. Thus, one can thus use a single offset arm for all of the above configurations.
Advantageously, the lower enclosure passing right through the base is shaped to receive the offset arm by sliding.
According to the invention, the base is a profile of constant section.
According to the invention, the support mast has an upper enclosure intended to receive the upright, said upper enclosure of the support mast extending substantially perpendicularly with respect to the lower enclosure of the base.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the support mast is a profile, said support mast extending substantially perpendicular to the base.
According to the invention, the support mast is a section of constant section.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the support mast is removably attached to the base. Advantageously, the support mast is removably joined to the base by means of at least one connecting member, which is for example a self-tapping screw.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the support mast is provided with at least one orifice receiving a wedging member for pressing the upright inside the support mast.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the base is provided with at least one opening opening into the lower enclosure, said at least one opening being intended to receive a wedging member intended to press the offset arm to the inside said base.
Preferably, the orifices receiving a wedging member are threaded. In addition, the wedging members are preferably pressure screws.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the base is provided with two orifices arranged on either side of the support mast, said two orifices being intended to each receive a wedging member. Preferably, the wedging member is a set screw.
According to the invention, the base has an upper face on which the support mast rests, and an opposite lower face widened with respect to the upper face. The enlarged underside allows the shoe to be more stable since the bearing surface is increased.
Preferably, the widened lower face of the base is provided with a pad. Advantageously, the pad has a peripheral rim for hooking the pad on the base. Preferably the peripheral rim is open at at least one of the access openings of the base to accommodate a base longer than the length of the pad.
According to another characteristic, the support mast is equipped with an open cap positioned on the free end of the support mast. The cap is shaped to plug the perimeter of the support mast profile while leaving the upper enclosure of the support mast open. Thus, the sealing of the support mast is improved.
The invention also relates to a self-supporting railing comprising at least one shoe according to the invention, wherein an amount is supported by the support pole of said shoe and an offset arm is slidably mounted inside the shoe. lower enclosure of the base, said offset arm being designed to be equipped with at least one ballast element. Advantageously, the offset arm is equipped with at least one ballast element at one of its ends.
