- A tool (10) for press-forming and flanging the edges of a vehicle bonnet (12) by means of a press, of the type which is equipped with a punch (18) for shaping the bonnet (12), the punch (18) having a shape which is complementary to the shape of the bonnet (12) and which is overall trapezoidal, decreasing towards the front, characterized in that the punch (18) comprises:- a fixed front part (22) delimiting a first transverse front die (26) for the flanging of a first front edge (28) of the bonnet (12) with an undercut, a second longitudinal lateral die (30a) and a third longitudinal lateral die (30b) for the flanging of a second lateral edge (32a) and of a third lateral edge (32b) of the bonnet (12) with an undercut respectively,- a rear part (24) which extends transversely at the rear of the front part (22) and which is mounted so as to move longitudinally from the back to the front, from a working position in which the rear part (24) and the front part (22) of the punch (18) are arranged so as to form the bonnet (12), and a decapping position, in which the rear part (24) is advanced towards the front part (22) to permit the bonnet (12) to be withdrawn from the punch (18), which allows the required space of the punch to be reduced such that the dies free the edges with undercut of the bonnet, to permit the withdrawal of the bonnet.
- The tool (10) according to claim 1, characterized in that the rear part (24) of the punch (18) comprises driving means (44a, 44b) of the bonnet (12) which are designed to cooperate with the bonnet (12) to drive the bonnet (12) in displacement and the rear part (24) simultaneously towards the front during the displacement of the rear part (24) towards its decapping position.
- The tool (10) according to claim 2, characterized in that the driving means (44a, 44b) of the bonnet (12) comprise at least one driving finger (44a, 44b) which is arranged at the rear of the rear part (24) of the punch (18) and which is designed to cooperate with a fourth rear edge (38) of the bonnet (12), to drive the bonnet (12) in displacement towards the front.
- The tool (10) according to claim 3, characterized in that the driving finger (44a, 44b) is mounted so as to be movable between a retracted position, in which the fourth rear edge (38) of the bonnet (12) is able to be formed, and an extended position, in which the finger (44a, 44b) is able to drive the bonnet (12) in displacement towards the front.
- The tool (10) according to any one of claims 3 and 4, characterized in that the rear part (24) of the punch (18) is delimited by a fourth transverse rear die (36) for the flanging of the fourth rear edge (38) of the bonnet (12).
- The tool (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the second lateral die (30a) of the punch (18) comprises a first mobile section (34a) which extends longitudinally from a rear end of said second lateral die (30a), and the third lateral die (30b) of the punch (18) comprises a second mobile section (34b) which extends longitudinally from a rear end of said third lateral die (30b), each mobile section (34a, 34b) being mounted so as to be movable on the tool (10) between a working position, in which each mobile section (34a, 34b) is arranged so as to form the bonnet (12), and a decapping position, in which each mobile section (34a, 34b) is retracted transversely towards the interior of the punch (18) to allow the bonnet (12) to be withdrawn from the punch (18) .
- The tool (10) according to claim 6, characterized in that the rear part (24) of the punch (18), in its working position, is interposed transversely between the first mobile section (34a) of the second lateral die (30a), and the second mobile section (34b) of the third lateral die (30b).
- The tool (10) according to claim 6, characterized in that the rear part (24) of the punch (18), in its decapping position, is arranged above the first mobile section (34a) of the second lateral die (30a) and the second mobile section (34b) of the third lateral die (30b).
- The tool (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises flanging means (20) which are designed to cooperate with the first front die (26), the second lateral die (30a) and the third lateral die (30b) of the punch (18) to form the first front edge (28) of the bonnet (12), the second lateral edge (32a) and the third lateral edge (32b) of the bonnet (12) with an undercut respectively.
