Claims (11)

  1. A printing unit (01) of a printing press, wherein the printing unit (01) has at least one ink reservoir (09) that is in direct operative contact with at least one ink feed roller (11), at least one film roller (12) in contact with the ink feed roller (11), at least one ink applicator roller (17) and at least one forme cylinder (06) designed as a plate cylinder (06) and in contact with the at least one ink applicator roller (17), whose effective width is a total width of the at least one printing plate or printing plates arranged and/or arrangeable on the plate cylinder (06), and wherein along a transport path for printing ink at least one ink transfer roller (13) is arranged adjacent to the at least one film roller (12), and wherein along the transport path of the printing ink at least one ink distributor (16) is arranged adjacent to the at least one ink transfer roller (13), and wherein along the transport path of the printing ink the at least one ink applicator roller (17) is arranged downstream of the at least one ink distributor (16), and wherein the at least one ink reservoir (09) has a total number (m) of metering elements (23) arranged side by side, and wherein an effective width of the at least one ink feed roller (11) is at least as great as a total effective width of the total number (m) of metering elements (23), and wherein the at least one film roller (12) exhibits an effective width which is smaller than the entire effective width of the total number (m) of metering elements (23), and wherein an effective width of the at least one ink applicator roller (17) is smaller than an effective width of the at least one forme cylinder (06), characterized in that with respect to the effective widths the following ascending order is obtained: ink applicator roller (17), forme cylinder (06), film roller (12), ink transfer roller (13), ink reservoir (09), ink feed roller (11), ink distributor (16).
  2. The printing unit according to claim 1, characterized in that along a transport path for printing ink between the at least one film roller (12) and the at least one ink applicator roller (17), at least one ink distributor (16) that is moveable in and/or counter to an axial direction (A) is arranged, whose effective width is greater than the effective width of the ink feed roller (11) and/or whose effective width is greater than the effective width of the at least one film roller (12) and/or whose effective width is greater than the effective width of the at least one ink applicator roller (17) and/or whose effective width is greater than the effective width of the forme cylinder (06).
  3. The printing unit according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the entire effective width of the total number (m) of metering elements (23) is at least 1200 mm.
  4. The printing unit according to claim 1, 2 or 3, characterized in that the effective width of the at least one forme cylinder (06) is smaller than the entire effective width of the total number (m) of metering elements (23).
  5. The printing unit according to claim 1, 2, 3 or 4, characterized in that an effective width of the at least one ink applicator roller (17) is smaller than an effective width of the at least one film roller (12).
  6. The printing press according to claim 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5, characterized in that the effective width of the at least one forme cylinder (06) and/or the effective width of the at least one ink applicator roller (17) and/or the effective width of the film roller (12) deviates by a predetermined width from a maximum width of a printing material to be processed by the printing press and/or in that a minimum number of closed metering elements (23) is dependent on the maximum width of a printing material to be processed by the printing press.
  7. The printing unit according to claim 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6, characterized in that the entire effective width of the total number (m) of metering elements (23) and/or the effective width of the at least one ink feed roller (11) and/or the effective width of the ink distributor (06) is selected from a specified number (n) of determined width values that are independent of a maximum width of a printing substrate to be processed by the printing unit.
  8. The printing unit according to claim 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7, characterized in that at least one of the metering elements (23) is arranged completely closed, and in that the effective width of the at least one film roller (12) is at the same time greater than a total effective width of a remaining number (r) of at least partially opened metering elements (23).
  9. The printing unit according to claim 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8, characterized in that a width is a dimension parallel to an axis of rotation of the forme cylinder (06) and/or in that an effective width in the case of the forme cylinder (06) is a width of an area provided for ink transfer and/or in the case of an ink feed roller (11) and/or in the case of a film roller (12) and/or in the case of an ink distributor (16) and/or in the case of an ink applicator roller (17) a width corresponds to a coating of a roller surface that is provided for transfer of color or transfer of a dampening solution.
  10. The printing unit according to claim 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9, characterized in that the printing unit (01) is a printing unit (01) of a printing machine.
  11. The printing unit according to claim 10, characterized in that the effective width of the at least one film roller (12) is greater than less of a width of a metering element (23) than a maximum width of printing material (24) to be processed by the printing machine.
