  • constat par le détecteur 35 de l'interruption par la bande de roulement 8b du pneumatique du faisceau retour du laser, comme montré à la figure 3
  • mise en fonctionnement des moyens de temporisation 40 retardant l'arrêt de l'abaissement du bras 22, afin que le plan de coupe Pc des couteaux 24 vienne au dessous de la bande de roulement 8b, (comme montré à la figure 3)
  • à la fin de la durée de temporisation, arrêt du déplacement du bras 22 vers le bas et alimentation des vérins 26 et 27 pour rapprocher les couteaux 24 des flancs 8c du pneumatique et engager le sectionnement de ces flancs, comme montré par les flèches 51 à la figure 4,
  • détection par le capteur 38 de la proximité du flanc 8c, entrainant arrêt de la rotation du plateau 7 et du pneumatique 8, écartement des coulisseaux 23, remontée du bras 22, et rétraction des mors 13 pour libérer la bande de roulement et accéder au flanc arrière.

Claims (8)

  1. A device for cutting tire sidewalls comprising, supported by a base:
    - a turntable (7) bearing sliding jaws (13) able to bear against the heels (8a) of the sidewalls of a tire (8) bearing against the turntable (7),
    - a stationary support (20) supporting an arm (22) parallel to the rotation axis X'X of the turntable (7), this arm (22) being able to be moved parallel to this axis by actuating means, between a released position of the tire and a working position,
    - slides (23) which, positioned on either side of the receiving zone of the tire (8) and each bearing a transverse knife (24), oriented toward the side wall (8c) of the tire, are mounted sliding on the arm (22) and each connected to actuating means (26 and 27) able to translate them on that arm, between a position separated from the tread (8b) and a close, end-of-travel cutting position, and
    - control means (12) governing the rotation of the turntable (7) and the movements in both directions, respectively, of the jaws (13), the arm (22) and the slides (24),
    characterized in that it comprises means (32) which, able to emit a laser beam (31) parallel to the rotation axis X'X of the turntable (7) and positioned above the knives (24), are associated with detecting means (35) coming into play when the arm (22) is brought closer to the tread (8b) of the tire, to indicate to the control means (12) that the laser beam (31) has been broken by this tread, while the control means (12) comprise timing means (40) delaying the power supply of the actuating means (26 and 27) acting on the approach of the slides (23), so that the knives (24) only penetrate the sidewalls (8c) of the tire when they are below its tread (8b).
  2. The device for cutting tire sidewalls according to claim 1, characterized in that the control means (12) are made up of a single automaton governing all functions of the apparatus.
  3. The device for cutting tire sidewalls according to claims 1 and 2 together, characterized in that the means (25) for moving the arm (22) in both directions on the support (20), as well as the means (26, 27) for moving the slides (23) on the arm (22), are made up of hydraulic jacks whereof the control solenoid valves (25a, 26a and 27a) are controlled by the automaton (12).
  4. The device for cutting tire sidewalls according to claims 1 and 2 together, characterized in that it is positioned in a cabin whereof the access door (5) is equipped with a contact (42) for closing and triggering the cycle.
  5. The device for cutting tire sidewalls according to claim 1, characterized in that each of the knives (24) has a symmetrical double bevel and forms an acute angle a of approximately 20 degrees.

The device for cutting tire sidewalls according to claims 1 and 5, characterized in that each knife (24a, 24b, 24c and 24d) is formed by trimming in one of the four corners of a blade (54a), mounted in its tool holder (23) with the possibility of pivoting and turning over to give each knife a position respecting its cutting angles.
  7. The device for cutting tire sidewalls according to claim 1, characterized in that one of the slides (23) bears a sensor (38) detecting the proximity of the sidewall (8c) of the tire.
  8. The device for cutting tire sidewalls according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises a sensor (36) detecting the presence of a tire on the turntable (7).
