Definitions

  • Timepieces of this type are known.
  • the patent CH 263707 describes and illustrates an example of a timepiece, of the automatic winding type, the watch movement of which is provided with a mechanism for counting the power reserve of its mechanical energy source.
  • This counting mechanism notably includes a counting mobile, having the form of a differential gear, an output of which makes it possible to carry out the driving of a pointer indicating the value of the power reserve.
  • a main object of the present invention is to provide a timepiece of the type which has just been described, having a display mode different from those of known parts, in particular more intuitive and easily allowing the wearer of the piece to watchmaking to detect when it requires reassembly.
  • the present invention relates more particularly to a timepiece meeting the characteristics mentioned above, characterized in that it comprises first and second transparent polarized members, superimposed and visible from outside the case, including at least one has a kinematic connection with the counting mobile, such that the relative angular orientation between the first and second polarized transparent members is a function of the value of the power reserve at each instant.
  • the timepiece is advantageously arranged in such a way that the relative orientation between the first and second polarized transparent members can vary within a range of the order of 90 degrees, between a first configuration, in which the respective polarizations of the first and second transparent polarized members are crossed, preventing light from passing through, and a second configuration in which the polarizations are substantially parallel to allow light to pass.
  • the timepiece is arranged in such a way that the first and second transparent polarized members allow the light to pass when the value of the power reserve is high and prevent it from passing when the value of the power reserve is low.
  • the wearer of the timepiece can know at a quick glance whether his power reserve is sufficient or not. Indeed, if it is sufficient, the wearer can see through the two polarized transparent members, while if the power reserve is insufficient, the transparent polarized members present a substantially black appearance to the wearer of the timepiece. Between the two configurations extreme, the transparent polarized members have an opacity varying gradually from one configuration to another.
  • the first polarized transparent member is integral with the box, the second polarized transparent member having a kinematic connection with the counting mobile.
  • the timepiece may include a casing ring for assembling the timepiece movement to the case, the latter having a transparent bottom.
  • a casing ring for assembling the timepiece movement to the case, the latter having a transparent bottom.
  • the second polarized transparent member is rotatably mounted on the casing circle.
  • the second polarized transparent member is advantageously secured to a first ring of a bearing having a second ring secured to the casing circle.
  • the first ring is the internal ring of the bearing and includes an internal toothing kinematically connected to the counting mobile.
  • the first polarized transparent member can directly constitute at least part of the bottom of the box.
  • FIGS. 1a , 1b and 1 C show the same simplified front view of a timepiece movement 1 for a timepiece according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the movement being illustrated with its bridge side visible.
  • the watch movement 1 is shown here while it is mounted in a casing circle 2 intended to ensure its assembly to a case (not shown) of the timepiece.
  • the watch movement 1 will not be described in detail since many of the elements that compose it do not have a direct impact on the implementation of the present invention.
  • the timepiece is of the type with a transparent bottom.
  • the transparent back comprises a first disc 4 made of transparent material, such as for example sapphire, carried by a ring screwed into the middle of the timepiece.
  • the transparent disc is directly assembled to the middle part by means of screws, without going beyond the ambit of the invention.
  • the disc 4 is illustrated alone in superposition of the watch movement 1, on the Figures 1a , 1b and 1 C , in order to expose the implementation of the present invention.
  • the disc 4 is made of a polarized transparent material or, alternatively, that it is coated with a film made of a material having such properties.
  • the casing ring 2 carries a second disc 6 also made of a polarized transparent material or, alternatively, coated with a film made of a material having such properties.
  • the second disc 6 can be rotated to vary the relative angular orientation between the two discs 4 and 6.
  • the angular orientation between the two discs can vary within a range of 90 degrees, so that the discs can pass from a configuration in which their polarizations are parallel to a configuration in which they are crossed.
  • the figure 1a illustrates the configuration in which the polarizations are parallel, the two discs 4 and 6 letting pass all or at least a large part of the incident light.
  • the watch movement 1 is visible through the bottom of the timepiece.
  • the present invention provides that the angular orientation between the two discs 4 and 6 is controlled by the value of the power reserve of the mechanical energy source that includes the timepiece movement 1.
  • the wearer of the watch can quickly assess what is the charge level of the mechanical energy source of his timepiece.
  • the watch movement 1 illustrated in the figures is of the manual winding type, in a nonlimiting illustration. Those skilled in the art will not encounter any particular difficulty in adapting the present teaching and implementing the invention in relation to a watch movement of the automatic winding type, without departing from the scope of the invention.
  • the figure 2 shows a simplified partial perspective view of the watch movement 1, according to a first embodiment, and illustrates in more detail how the second disc 6 can be driven as a function of the value of the power reserve of the mechanical energy source of the watch movement.
  • the watch movement 1 comprises a plate 8 supporting most of its components, including at least one barrel 10, this housing a spring 12 fulfilling the function of mechanical energy source for the watch movement 1, in a conventional manner.
  • the plate 8 is integral with the casing circle 2.
  • the barrel spring 12 has an internal end secured to a barrel shaft (not visible), and an external end secured to a barrel drum 14, one fulfilling an input function for recharging the spring 12 and, the other, an output function for delivering energy to a gear train.
  • the watch movement 1 comprises a mechanism for counting the power reserve of the barrel spring 12, comprising in particular a mobile for counting the power reserve having the form of a differential gear 16.
  • the latter comprises a first input 18, having a kinematic connection with the barrel shaft and, a second inlet 20, having a kinematic connection with the barrel drum 14, in a known manner.
  • the differential gear 16 also comprises a pinion 22, for output, intended to control the movements of a member for displaying the value of the power reserve.
  • the pinion 22 meshes with a first mobile 24 arranged in engagement with a second mobile 25, itself engaged with a driving mobile 26 for displaying the power reserve.
  • the driving mobile 26 is arranged in engagement with an internal toothing 28, the latter being formed on the internal periphery of an internal ring 30 of a ball or roller bearing 32, the external ring 34 of which is integral with the circle casing 2.
  • the second disc 6 is assembled directly to the internal ring 30 of the bearing, by being driven therefrom and / or glued to it, in the first variant embodiment.
  • the gear ratios between the counting mobile 16 and the internal ring 30 are such that the latter rotates 90 degrees when the power reserve varies between its two extreme values, so as to obtain the behavior described above. , in relation to Figures 1a , 1b and 1 C .
  • FIGS. 3 and 4 illustrate a second alternative embodiment of the present invention, in particular, simplified perspective views, respectively of part of a timepiece movement according to the second variant and a construction detail of this timepiece movement.
  • the driving mobile 26 is arranged in engagement this time with an internal toothing 128 of a ring 130, made integral with the casing ring 2 so as to be able to pivot with reference to the latter.
  • the ring 130 has a first cylindrical portion 132, in which the internal toothing 128 is formed and, carrying the second disc 6.
  • the second disc 6 is advantageously assembled directly to the ring 130, by being driven therefrom and / or glued there, for example.
  • the first portion 132 has a fine annular groove 134 making it possible to guide the ring 130 in rotation by cooperating with an annular thread 136, formed on the edge of the casing circle and housed in the annular groove 134.
  • the ring 130 also comprises a second annular portion 138 in which are formed a plurality of slots 140, also annular and preferably three in number, regularly distributed along the second portion 138.
  • Each slot 140 makes it possible to ensure the assembly of the ring 130 with the casing circle 2 by insertion of a screw 142 cooperating with a foot-screw 144 secured to the casing circle.
  • each screw 142 maintains the ring 130 against the casing ring 2 without, however, preventing rotation.
  • the wearer of the timepiece according to the present invention can know the state of his power reserve by looking at the bottom of the piece.
  • the invention is also not limited to a construction with the two polarized transparent members located in the bottom of the timepiece. These members can be arranged in any other suitable location of the timepiece, in particular between the dial and the display hands, without departing from the scope of the invention.
  • the transparent polarized members can also have a shape other than circular, for example in a sector.
