Definitions

  • the present invention relates generally to projectors for a motor vehicle. It relates more particularly to a lighting module adapted to equip these projectors and which comprises a light source, an elliptical collector which allows the reflection of a beam from this source and a convergent lens towards which the beam is reflected to be distributed and projected outside the projector, in front of the vehicle.
  • the light source is disposed substantially at the first focus of the collector.
  • Such modules are known comprising a light source, a collector, and a convergent lens, in which, in order to meet the standards intended for example to avoid dazzling oncoming road users, a beam of light is produced.
  • switch type lighting. Cut-beam is understood to mean a lighting beam that has a directional limit, the cutoff, above which the light intensity is reduced.
  • the document FR 2 753 148 A1 shows such a module.
  • such a cover is placed in position in the module by the cooperation of indexing holes formed in the cover and indexing pins integral with a component of the module, and it is fixed by screwing. It is then necessary to ensure during manufacture of the cache a good positioning accuracy of the indexing holes relative to the cutting edge. Furthermore, the assembly clearance that results from this type of assembly can hinder the precise positioning of the cutoff edge of the cache in the module. This results in less precision on the cutoff of the light beam at the output of the module. This degraded positioning generates, among other things, chromaticism.
  • the present invention proposes a lighting module in which the cache and the module in which it is implanted have the structures adapted to the most precise assembly possible.
  • the light source, the collector and the cover are mounted on an active surface of a support.
  • This support has a referencing wall which projects from said active surface and which serves as a reference for the positioning of the cache which is sought to be placed very precisely with respect to the second focus of the collector in the vicinity.
  • the module further comprises means for plating the cover against the support which are adapted to push the front face of said cover, which comprises said cutting edge, against said referencing wall.
  • the front face of the cover comprises a bearing zone adapted to come into contact with the referencing wall under the effect of the thrust of the plating means and a distinct zone carrying the cutting edge.
  • the cover has a beam sealing portion and an actuating portion, which can be articulated relative to each other by means of a primer. transverse fold formed on a lower face of the cover.
  • the closure portion has a substantially planar shape and is adapted to be pressed against the active surface of the support by internal ribs of the collector.
  • the actuating portion is adapted to rest on ramp means integral with the support so as to promote sliding of the cover along the active surface of the support towards the referencing wall.
  • the ramp means are then inclined relative to the normal to the active surface and are oriented towards the referencing wall.
  • the cover slides towards the referencing wall and it is ensured that the front face, opposite the actuating part, comes close against the latter.
  • the ramp means are formed by two ramps which extend at a transverse distance from one another projecting from the support and in the same time, the cover has a form of plate provided with two tabs which extend the cover opposite its front face, each tab being adapted to cooperate with one of the ramps.
  • These ramps may comprise end walls projecting from the slope which serve as an abutment to the tabs of the cover.
  • the support comprises a rib which extends projecting transversely between the two ramps and on which the cover rests so as to avoid the passage of light beam between the cover and the support.
  • the cover has a reflecting face which is turned away from the active surface of the support.
  • the light beam can reflect completely on this face of the cache. It is on the opposite side to this reflecting face that the folding primer is made.
  • the reference wall of the support serves as a common reference to the cache and the collector.
  • the module may then comprise complementary second plating means adapted to force the collector in axial displacement against the referencing wall of the support.
  • second plating means may consist of a protrusion integral with the collector which is adapted to deform against a wall of the support by opposing a reaction force which generates the displacement of the collector opposite said wall, in the direction of the wall. SEO. This protrusion will be dimensioned so as not to create excessive deformation of the collector during its assembly.
  • the module may further comprise means for guiding the collector with respect to the support.
  • the cover has an axial position.
  • the active surface of the support is arranged so that the cover is disposed in the focal plane passing through the two homes when it is pressed against the active surface.
  • the optical element may be a convergent lens, or a complementary reflector, for example of parabolic shape, prolonging the reflection of light.
  • the invention also aims to protect a mounting method of a lighting module.
  • the light source is first fixed on the active surface of the support, then the cover is placed on the active surface on the one hand by positioning the front face of the cover against the reference wall, and a by placing the opposite part of the cover on ramp means which project from the support.
  • the cover is then inclined with respect to the active surface.
  • the collector is then reported on this active surface of the support by cooperating on the one hand complementary guiding means for transverse guiding of the collector relative to the support and secondly second plating means for pushing the collector against the wall SEO support.
  • the cover is deformed so that the sealing portion is pressed against the active surface by internal ribs of the collector and the actuating portion is pressed against the ramp means.
  • the inclined shape of the ramp means on which the actuating portion rests generates the plating of the cover against the wall of the SEO. It remains then to screw the collector on the support when the collector is in abutment, thus trapping the cover between the internal ribs of the collector and the active surface of the support.

  • the substantially elliptical surface is made in the form of an angular sector substantially of revolution and extends in the half space above an axial plane perpendicular to the plane of the sheet and containing the optical axis.
  • the surface may not be perfectly elliptical and have several specific profiles designed to optimize the light distribution in the lighting beam produced by the module. This implies that the collector is not perfectly revolutionary.
  • the light source is arranged in the vicinity of the first focus of the collector.
  • the light source is a light-emitting diode which emits the majority of its light energy towards the reflective inner surface of the substantially elliptical surface.
  • the optical element has a focus substantially coincident with the second focus of the elliptical collector, this arrangement allowing the majority of the rays emitted by the light source and passing through the second focus of the collector to be reflected by the optical element in the direction lighting corresponding to its optical axis.

  • the cutoff edge is arranged in the vicinity of the second focus of the manifold.
  • the principle of operation of the lighting module is as follows: as the light source is arranged at the first focus of the collector, most of the rays emitted by the source, shown in solid lines on the figure 1a after being reflected on the inner face of the collector, is returned to the second focus or in the vicinity thereof. They then pass through the lens (or are reflected on a complementary reflector) and they leave the lighting module in a direction substantially parallel to the optical axis.

  • the support comprises a substantially flat active surface 26 and a rear wall 28 which extends perpendicularly the active surface at its rear end.
  • the rear wall carries a rib 30 which projects from the wall. As will be described below, this rib is adapted to cooperate with a groove of the collector to form guide and positioning means.
  • the support further comprises a referencing wall 32 which extends perpendicularly the front end of the active surface, opposite the rear wall, as well as ramp means 34.
