Definitions

  • the invention relates to a mixer having a coupling element with inlet nozzle, a mixer housing rotatable relative to the coupling element, which has an outlet opening and an opposite inlet end, in which the coupling element is accommodated, and a mixer element accommodated in the mixer housing, which defines a longitudinal axis of the mixer. Furthermore, the invention relates to a dispenser with at least two interconnected containers and such a mixer.
  • WO 2011/041917 discloses the features of the preamble of claims 1 and 12.
  • a mixer of the type mentioned and a corresponding dispensing device are, for example, from the EP 0 733 022 B1 known, wherein the mixer can be locked by means of a bayonet lock on the cartridge.
  • the seal between the coupling element of the mixer and the mixer housing takes place between an approximately cylindrical outer wall of the coupling element and a corresponding inner wall of the mixer housing.
  • the from the EP 0 733 022 B1 Known mixer is a so-called static mixer, ie a mixer in which the mixer element is not rotatably driven.
  • a similar dispenser is also from the US 5,333,760 or the EP 0 730 913 B1 known.
  • the EP 1 968 751 B1 describes a mixer and a dispenser, wherein the mixer consists only of a mixer housing and a mixer element received therein. Both the mixer housing and the mixer element take on functions of a coupling element for connection to a cartridge housing.
  • a double cartridge and a connectable static mixer are described.
  • the connection between the mixer and the double cartridge takes place via a bayonet connection, which is provided on a cap, which surrounds the coupling element and the mixer housing and is rotatable relative thereto.
  • the coupling element is designed in one piece with the mixer element, wherein these in turn are rotatably mounted in the mixer housing.
  • a similar solution with a union nut is from the EP 1 440 737 A1 known.
  • the components of the mixer can also be welded together, for example.
  • a connection of the components of the mixer by means of a latching mechanism which is susceptible to leakage as described above
  • the components can also be welded together, for example.
  • ultrasonic welding By means of an ultrasonic welding.
  • this is expensive and therefore unfavorable for mixers that are disposable.
  • connection between the mixer and the cartridge requires, for example, in the solutions according to the EP 0 733 022 B1 or the EP 2 335 641 A1 a visual control and an exact placement of the mixer in a predetermined position. This is partly perceived as laborious and impractical.
  • a special alignment of the coupling element relative to the mixer housing is required because the mixer is not otherwise placed on the cartridge can be. This requires an additional cost-producing assembly step including the required quality control.
  • the object of the present invention is therefore to provide a mixer and a dispenser of the type mentioned above, which avoid the above-mentioned disadvantages of known mixer and in particular allow an improved connection between the mixer and the cartridge and an improved sealing of the mixer itself.
  • the inlet end of the mixer housing is provided with an external thread.
  • the screw connection by means of a thread allows the inclusion of larger loads compared to other types of connection, for example.
  • a only selectively acting bayonet lock allows the inclusion of larger loads compared to other types of connection, for example.
  • a only selectively acting bayonet lock The risk that the mixer flakes off the cartridge can thus be minimized even at high discharge pressure.
  • a particular advantage also results from the fact that the mixer housing itself is provided with the external thread, since the power flow takes place at high discharge pressure directly between the mixer housing and the cartridge and thus no additional component, such as. From the prior art known union nuts or caps, as potential vulnerabilities are provided.
  • in a screw unlike a bayonet closure, neither an exact alignment of the mixer to a cartridge or the like. Still required between the mixer housing and the coupling element.
  • the components to be mixed in the mixer are in different volumes. Accordingly, the inlet nozzle of the mixer and the outlet of the cartridge can be different be designed large.
  • the coupling element has a positioning tongue which extends parallel to the inlet nozzles and projects beyond the inlet nozzles in the direction away from the outlet opening.
  • a positioning tab can prevent the mixer from being attached to it in misalignment with the cartridge. In particular, this also makes it possible to prevent unwanted contact of the mixer inlet connection with the outlet connection or openings of the cartridge, which can lead to mixing of the components already in the region of the cartridge, which then harden and render the cartridge useless.
  • an opening may also be provided on the mixer into which a positioning tongue or the like of the cartridge engages.
  • the positioning tongue tapers in the direction away from the outlet opening. This facilitates “finding" the positioning tab and a corresponding opening contour. At the same time, this can lead to a pre-alignment of the coupling element relative to the cartridge, so that the inlet nozzle and the outlet nozzle meet in an ideal orientation.
  • attaching a mixer according to the invention to a cartridge takes place with the following steps: First, the positioning tongue comes into contact with the corresponding receptacle on the cartridge from a certain point on, with initially there being play between the positioning tab and the receptacle in the cartridge. Thereafter, the positioning tongue acts as a guide rail in a, for example tapered, channel in the cartridge. As a result, the mixer is thereby automatically centered and aligned in the cartridge by the axial insertion of the positioning tongue.

  • the mixer is configured such that the coupling element has sealing means on its side facing the outlet opening.
  • the sealing effect between the coupling element and the mixer housing is improved by tightening the screw connection of the mixer with a cartridge.
  • the sealing effect is also improved by an application pressure acting on the coupling element. As the pressure increases, the coupling element consequently also seals more strongly with respect to the mixer housing in the case of such an end-side seal.
  • the coupling element on its side facing the outlet opening has two annular projections, between which a circumferential groove is formed, in which a ring-like projection of the mixer housing sealingly engages.
  • an annular tongue and groove connection is created between the mixer housing and the coupling element, which allows a rotation of the coupling element relative to the mixer housing, but also achieved a particularly good sealing effect.
  • this axial seal can also be constructed in reverse, ie with a groove in the mixer housing into which a ring-like projection of the coupling element engages.
  • an additional threaded connection between the coupling element and the mixer housing may be formed, so that the coupling element is pulled in a relative rotation of the mixer housing during attachment of the mixer to a cartridge with a defined by the additional thread stroke in the mixer housing. This ensures a defined sealing effect.
  • axial sealing constitutes a preferred embodiment of the invention. Nevertheless, it is alternatively possible to provide a radial seal, for example by means of a radial groove in the mixer housing and a ring-like projection in the coupling element, instead of the axial seal.
  • the inlet ports of the coupling element expediently extend parallel to the longitudinal axis of the mixer and thereby form channels which preferably open via at least one radial opening into a mixing chamber formed by the mixer housing, in which the mixer element is provided.
  • At least one of the channels opening into the mixing chamber can also be provided with a deflection, for example by a channel section extending approximately arcuately around the longitudinal axis of the mixer.
  • the mixer can be assembled in such a way that the coupling element and the mixer housing are already provided connected to one another the danger exists that the coupling element falls out of the mixer housing.
  • the steps required to assemble the mixer are thus reduced to the insertion of the mixer element into the mixer housing and the engagement of the coupling element in the mixer housing.
  • the coupling element is held freely rotatably in the mixer housing. This is necessary to allow on the one hand alignment of the inlet ports of the mixer to the corresponding outlet nozzle of the cartridge and on the other hand, the tightening of the mixer housing to the cartridge.
  • the coupling element can be arranged in any (rotational) position of the inlet nozzle to the mixer housing, without this would affect the process of connection of mixer and cartridge.
  • the coupling element is also held displaceably in the latter at least by a limited amount in the axial direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the mixer.
  • This can be done, for example, in that the radial groove in the inlet end of the mixer housing in the axial direction is slightly larger than the latching projection of the coupling element.
  • the axial displaceability of the coupling element for example, less than 1 mm, in particular between 0.1 mm and 0.5 mm, relative to the mixer housing.
  • slight tolerances within the mixer can be compensated for when screwing the mixer onto a cartridge.

  • the inlet ports 20a, 20b form channels which extend parallel to the longitudinal axis of the mixer, ie parallel to the axis of rotation of the mixer element 12.
  • the channels open radially into a region which forms the mixing chamber of the mixer housing 11.
  • the opening 21 a for the larger volume component is reduced by a bulkhead 22 in its opening cross section, whereby a lead of this component can be prevented.
  • a positioning tongue 23 is formed on the coupling element 13, which also extends from the rear side of the coupling element 13 in the direction of the double cartridge 2.
  • the positioning tongue 23 is convexly curved in the illustrated exhibition shape and adapted to the contour of the opening 10 in the plate 7 of the double cartridge 2.
  • the positioning tab 23 protrudes toward the dual cartridge 2 beyond the inlet ports 20a, 20b.
  • the end of the mixer element 12 projecting from the coupling element 13 can engage in the central opening of the plate 7.
  • the positioning tongue 23 is tapered at its free end tapered or rounded.
  • the opening 10 may be larger than the positioning tongue 23 and / or tapered.
  • a bearing bush 24 is provided in the coupling element 13, in which the mixing element 12 is rotatably mounted.
  • the bearing bush 24 in this case has a free end directed in the direction of the outlet opening 14 of the mixer 3, while the opposite end of the bearing bush 24 terminates in the rear wall of the coupling element 13. The free end of the bearing bush 24 can thus rest sealingly on the mixer element 12.
  • two circumferential, annular projections 25a, 25b are provided concentrically with each other, so that between these a circumferential groove 25c is formed. Accordingly, in the pot-like widening inlet end of the mixer housing 11, an annular circumferential projection 26 is formed, which can engage in the groove 25c. In the not yet bolted to the double cartridge 2 state of the mixer 3, a slight clearance between the free end of the annular projection 26 and the groove bottom of the groove 25c may be present, so that the coupling element 13 is rotatable within the mixer housing 11 smoothly.
  • the coupling member 13 becomes slightly axially relative to the mixer housing 11 in the axial direction to the outlet port 14 of the mixer 3 so that the free end of the annular projection 26 sealingly rests against the groove bottom of the groove 25c formed between the projections 25a and 25b. Even with increasing application pressure, for example.
  • the coupling element 13 is pressed in the direction of the outlet opening 14, so that the seal between the annular projection 26 and the groove bottom seals more.
  • the collar 8 of the double cartridge 2 and the inlet portion of the mixer 3 are designed so that the respective threads 9, 17 are slightly recessed, so that the mixer 3 can first be inserted into the collar 8, without the threads interlock. In this position, the mixer 3 can be aligned by turning relative to the double cartridge 2 until the positioning tongue 23 hits the opening 10. Only then do the threads engage each other and the inlet sockets are guided into the outlet sockets. In other words, the mixer 3 can be placed completely on the double cartridge 2 only in a single position. It is therefore not possible that a cross contamination of the mixer inlet with the cartridge outlet is carried out in advance.
  • the inlet nozzle of the mixer with the larger diameter may be made longer than the other inlet nozzle with the smaller diameter (eg catalyst component). Also in this way can be done positioning and alignment, since the larger inlet port can be plugged into any other opening within the plate 7 as the opening of the corresponding outlet nozzle. A positioning tongue can thus be omitted.
  • the invention also relates to a in the FIGS. 10 and 11 shown one-piece closure element 27, which instead of the mixer 3 can be placed on the double cartridge 2.
  • two plugs 28a, 28b are provided, which can be inserted sealingly into the outlet stubs 6a and 6b.
  • the plugs 28 a, 28 b are connected via a web 29, which acts as a torsion spring, with a sleeve 30, which can be inserted into the collar 8 of the outlet end of the double cartridge 2.
  • An extended edge of the sleeve 30, which is provided with a knurling 31, rests on the end face of the collar 8, when the closure member 27 is sealingly placed on the double cartridge 2.
  • the closure element 27 can be secured in the collar 8 by means of latching hooks 32, which engage behind the thread segments of the internal thread 9 and thus lock the closure element 27 on the double cartridge.
  • latching hooks 32 engage behind the thread segments of the internal thread 9 and thus lock the closure element 27 on the double cartridge.
  • the sleeve 30 can be slightly rotated with the knurling 31, wherein the web 29 twists because the plugs 28a, 28b initially stuck in the outlet port 6a and 6b.
  • This twisting of the web 29 acting as a torsion element makes it possible for the latching hooks 32 to be disengaged from the thread segments of the internal thread 9 so that the closure element 27 can be removed from the double cartridge 2.
  • FIG. 12 A preferred embodiment of the design of the dispenser is in FIG. 12 shown.
  • ribs 33 are formed between or under the outlet stubs 6a, 6b on the plate 7, which protrude with respect to the plate 7.
  • this prevents incorrect fitting of a mixer, so that the positioning tongue 23 is easier to find in the opening 10 and, on the other hand, can prevent material from being carried over.
  • material leakage from the inlet and / or outlet nozzles can seldom be completely avoided.
  • transverse ribs 33 catch such material components in the region between the ribs and thus prevent a rapid carryover to the respective other outlet channel.
  • the in the FIGS. 13 and 14 shown mixer has on the coupling element 13 annular end-side sealing surfaces 34 which are provided around the inlet channels 20a, 20b around and on which the respective outlet nozzle 6a, 6b of the cartridge come to rest. These sealing surfaces cause an additional end-side sealing effect to the radial sealing surface on the outer circumference of the nozzle.
